Reunion Between Rows of Green
Skylar woke up to a beautiful morning, knowing what awaited her today. After putting on her cloak and grabbing all the study tools, she went straight to Hogwarts grounds and stopped at the front of a green house as usual.
Inhaling deeply to sense all the nature around before going to Herbology class was like her sacred ritual now. When she feels refreshed enough, she will allow herself to walk past the door.
There were many planting gears in front of the students’ station. Skylar knew the function of each of them from her experiences at home. She used them according to the instructions in the notebook that her parent gave her, yet she just happened to know that they can be classified into two types, Protective and Supportive gears.
Are we gonna use all this? She thought with thrill in her mind.
Unfortunately, the professor just wanted everyone to acknowledge the tools and know how to use them. She was a bit disappointed but got excited again after seeing the professor demonstrate using the dragonhide gloves for Bouncing Bulbs, a plant that jumped and hit towards the possible attacker.
Then her memory flooded in that moment. Skylar had a hard time dealing with the Bouncing Bulbs before. She took several days to get close to them, but the professor only took a few seconds. She was so impressed and couldn’t wait to scribble the details in her notebook immediately.
After the lecture time had ended, all students received a small potted plant from the professor. While she waited for someone to hand it to her, it appears the girl at the front was someone she was familiar with.
“Rose?”
She greeted the girl with a bright smile, but a little guilt inside. Rose was in the same class to her for an hour, but she didn’t manage to notice her friend.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t notice you earlier.” She said with a quiet voice.

Reunion Between Rows of Green
Today waking up was difficult for Rose. She had been stargasing again last night and went to bed really late.
She was so tired that she wondered how she could come out of her bed. Plus she had Herbology not she didn't like the topics but it wasn't a class where you could really be passive. Finally she ended up getting up and headed directly towards the greenhouses skipping her breakfast as she didn't want to be late to the class.
When she entered the greenhouse she didn't really pay attention to the students who were already here. Shortly after the lesson started. Thankfully it was mostly explanation than actual practice. It was really hard for Rose to stay focus and she was fighting not to doze off and let her eyes closing.
She more or less succeed to go through the entire lesson.
At the end the students were receiving a small potted plant and soon after receiving hers she heard someone calling her name out. It was a familiar voice. She turned around to see Skylar smiling at her while apologising not to have spotted her before during the class.
"Skylar! said Rose while smiling happy to see her friend again.
"Don't worry, actually I haven't neither paid attention to who was here and who wasn't." Rose reassured Skylar with a small embarrassed laugh.
"To be honest I was almost dozing off..." she quietly admitted to her friend a bit ashamed as she knew it was her favourite subject.
Nevertheless she was glad to see her again.

Skylar was glad that Rose didn’t mind that she hadn’t noticed her earlier. But, after seeing the girl look a bit tired, she was concerned Rose might fall from faint or something.
“Are you alright?” She said with a hand, supporting Rose gently. Even she knew Rose could handle herself, but she did it anyway.
“Did you have enough sleep last night?”
Skylar watched Rose answer in a weary voice. It was clear to her that Rose wasn’t in a good state to do much active activities.
Then, the professor explained about the plants given to students before providing further instructions. It seemed that she had to take care of a Sneezewort today.
“Have you dealt with this plant before?” She asked Rose.
Skylar slowly observed the tall white flowers in her pot, then glanced at the girl’s to detail hers.
“It looks fine, actually,” She said to Rose’s pot as she added, “After moving it to the larger pot, you just need to fertilise a bit and add some water. That’s all.”
She hoped her advice could help her friend reduce tiredness, even if it was just a little.
Skylar put on her gloves and grabbed her protective gear. She began to work with all her focus as usual. She carefully dug up the soil without hurting the plant’s roots, then transferred it to a bigger pot as ordered given.
It seemed her fertiliser had enough moisture in it, so she only fertilised a bit in her pot plant and successfully done for today.
She was satisfied with her neat work as she used to be, but couldn’t stop a worried mind about her friend. She decided to walk up to Rose’s workstation, observing the girl.
“Do you need any help?”

Reunion Between Rows of Green
Rose was fighting not to fall asleep. She heard Skylar asking her some questions probably concerned about her. Actually Rose was not sure of how she looked but she may look awfully tired.
After they received the explanation of what they had to do Rose who had not really listened to it was glad to Skylar for telling her what she had to do. It wasn't that hard actually. She put on her gloves and took her protective gear before starting to dug up the plant as carefully as she could. She then put it into a bigger pot.
However Rose was not sure about the fertilisation part and whether her plant needed it more or not. She tried to look at the other people plant to see how they were doing but it seemed others might have been like her. If she had listened more maybe she would have known how to do well.
Nevertheless, she was not really a plant person not that she didn't like it but she didn't really interested herself to it more than she needed it to. Her mind was also shifting away as she was thinking about when she will go to sleep and even more about the starry sky.
Deep down Rose knew she shouldn't stargase again tonight and should take some good sleep but the temptation was hard to avoid. Thankfully if the sky were not clear she wouldn't be able to stargase and would have no other choice than going to sleep.
Skylar's voice put her out of her thoughts when she asked her if she needed any help. Actually she felt more than relieved her friend asked her this question.
"Yes actually...I'm not sure about how much to fertilise." she said hoping it wasn't something obvious to do and she would look silly.
However she knew her friend were not going to judge her for asking. And Rose didn't want to do anything that wasn't right since it would be worst. So it was better to ask when Skylar offered her help.

After Skylar heard her friends’ answer, she put on her work mode face immediately. She touched a pinch of dirt and moved her nose near the pot, smelling the soil as if it could tell her something. Then she looked around to find what soil Rose was using to fertilise it.
“That’s weird.” She frowned and murmured quietly.
Skylar noticed that Rose wanted her to share her thoughts, but she couldn’t tell the girl right away.
“Can you wait here for a moment?”
She said, and smoothly walked behind the other students’ workstation, which was in the same row to Rose. She quietly spied on other students’ work, and it didn’t take too long for her to figure it out. She came back to Rose and finally explained what she was thinking.
“As you see, we have to transfer a Sneezewort to a bigger pot, and it seems all the equipment was already prepared for us, even the soil.”
Skylar glanced at tired Rose, and it was clear that the girl looked like she didn’t have a single energy left to fight for a good tool or anything in class.
“So… I think everybody got the same type of soil that had a good mix of moisture in it and left you with a bad one.”
She paused for a second to think about the solution. If she had to dig out all the old soil and put in the new one, the class might end before Rose could even finish her work. The quantity was enough, but it lacked a bit of moisture.
“Maybe we add some water…”
Her words cut out by the hopeless eyes of her friend because there was no any watering can left for her aswell.
Skylar let out a long sigh. It seemed the professor could walk past them soon. She decided to do something that she thought she might not be supposed to do.
“Aguamenti”
She put her wand in an empty pot before she moved it like a wave. The clean water came out with a blue light from the tip of her wand, pouring water almost overflowing. But she managed to stop it before something got messy.
She quickly gave the pot of water to Rose, so the girl could add it to her Sneezewort pot.
“It’s… a water-making spell. I learn it from home, and I don’t think we’ll learn it in our first year.” She whispered then covered her mouth a bit.
“Please… don’t tell anybody.”

Reunion Between Rows of Green
As soon as Rose asked Skylar to help her she carefully looked at her friend being in action despite her tiredness. Skylar seemed to be so focused Rose almost didn't dare to keep breathing scared she might disturb Skylar. But she saw her frowning and got worried she did something wrong.
After awhile Skylar went to look at other students' workstation and what she told Rose couldn't be any worst. It happened she was the one left with the bad soil. It was all she needed right now for a day not to start worst.
Not only had she not really listened much, but if on top of that her task was made more difficult than supposed to she would never be able to do it well. That was indeed her day.
"Obviously...it had to be me." Rose said more to herself than for Skylar to hear a bit annoyed while sighing.
However she was really glad her friend came to her and explained her what was wrong as Rose would have never guessed it. Skylar suggested to add more water but once more as if the world was against Rose this morning any watering can were left for her neither.
That couldn't be it. What was wrong this morning. Rose sighed almost going to give up when Skylar cast a spell as water appeared in an empty pot. Rose widened her eyes as she couldn't believe it. Skylar was indeed amazing. She said having learning that spell by herself back home. Rose looked at her even more surprised and amazed at how talented her friend were.
Not only that she greatly helped her managing an impossible looking situation to Rose.
She thanked her friend before adding the water to her pot.
"Thanks a lot! You got me out of a tight spot I owe you one." she told Skylar gratefully.
"Don't worry your secret is well kept with me." Rose whispered to Skylar her eyes sparkling as if for a moment tiredness has left her.

Skylar was a little surprised when Rose said she owed her. She wasn’t the type of person who kept score with people.
“You do not owe me anything. You’re my friend.” She said with a genuine smile, as always.
She wasn’t sure that Rose remembered what she had said on the first night they met, but it was clear to Skylar that she never forgot what promised her friend.
“If you need my help in class, you can also reach out to me.” The phrase lingered in her mind.
After Rose promised that she would keep her secret, Skylar had a big smile again and winked at the girl.
“Thanks!”
She then returned to her workstation, listening to the professor's last speech before the class ended. Skylar wrapped up her work, cleaning her station. While she did, she didn’t forget to give a quick glance at her friend, checking if Rose was going well too.
Everyone packed their gear and was ready to leave the class. Skylar's ritual still went on as she had to be the last one to leave the place. She made sure that she was the one who stayed behind before taking a deep inhaled and letting out a pleasing, long sigh.
“Wait! I forgot something.”
Something reminded her that there were a few words she wanted to say to her friend. Skylar ran to the glass door, squeeze herself in a group of students who were stuck between the inside and outside greenhouse.
“Rose!”
She called out loudly, hoping Rose still heard her and didn’t go too far yet.

Reunion Between Rows of Green
Rose remembered what Skylar told her that evening about her helping her in class whenever she needed which Rose truly appreciated. However she also wanted to be useful to her friend and she wanted Skylar to know she could count on her as well when she would need too. But Rose just smiled back at Skylar not knowing how to express her thoughts. Her mind was kind of blurry because of the tiredness and thinking has even become hard for her.
If only she had slept enough she wouldn't look like a mollusc.
Thanks to Skylar's help Rose could finish her work without any more trouble. Soon after everyone was done and the class was coming to an end. Finally.
Compared to the other class Herbology needed more focus as students were most of the time doing practical work so it was harder to just be passive only waiting for the end of the lesson. Moreover they were standing which required even more energy. It was indeed the best class Rose could have had on a day like that. However better it to be the first one than at the end of the day when she would have been even more tired.
Rose promptly packed her things before she headed out of the greenhouse. As soon as she went outside the smell in the air gave her a feeling of nausea as her stomach was empty. It was smelling like wet grass a smell she didn't particularly appreciate. She quickly started walking to get back to the castle to go to her next class.
As she was walking Rose heard Skylar calling her from afar. She turned around to see her friend running to catch up with her. She felt a bit guilty not to have waited for her especially when Skylar had helped her.
Rose moved a bit to the side not to be in the way of the other students walking to wait for Skylar to reach her.

Skylar finally slipped out of a group that was stuck between the glass door. She took a quick glance and started to run as fast as she could.
“Rose, wait!”
She called out her friend again, just in case the girl didn’t hear her the first time. After she reached Rose, she tried to talk while she was out of breath.
“I…”
She choked a bit before pulling herself back together.
“I know that you hurried, but can I talk to you for a minute?”
Skylar looked at Rose and saw the girl's face look so pale. She quickly grabbed her friend's arm and moved to the shade, somewhere the sun couldn’t touch them. Then she checked with her friend again, making sure that Rose was really okay.
“Maybe we should rest a bit.” She chuckled awkwardly.
She knew that she wanted to say something, but she forgot it along the way. She was busy worrying that her friend wasn’t feeling well. She glanced at Rose, and it seemed the girl was ready to hear what she wanted to say now. For a moment, Skylar intently drowned in her thoughts in silence. Then she began to remember.
“Oh! I just want to say I want to stargaze with you,” She giggled a little before waving her hand. “Not today. I mean, someday we both have a match-free time”
She looked at the sunlight shining through the grass, yet could feel only the cool wind in the air.
“But I’m not sure this is the right time to ask you to teach me stargazing because it’s winter now.”
She thought that the sky might not be as clear as in the spring.

Reunion Between Rows of Green
As Rose stopped and waited for Skylar she felt a bit dizzy as the smell of the wet grass was becoming almost unbearable to her. She tried to think of something else to feel better. Not soon after Skylar arrived all panting catching her breath. Rose chuckled a bit as what she wanted to say seemed really important.
After moving to the shade and Skylar had calmed down from her little short run she suddenly said to Rose she wanted to stargaze with her. Rose thought her ears were not working properly as she wasn't expecting such a proposal from her friend all of sudden. Not that she thought Skylar wouldn't like it but it was unlikely when people were asking this. At least from Rose's point of view. Apart being by herself or with her brother she hasn't stargazed with anyone else as no one has ever asked nor she asked others since she didn't know if people were interested to it or would accept only not to say no.
Maybe it was because of her tiredness but she felt a bit more sensitive than usual and her eyes started to become watery. She was indeed really happy of Skylar's proposal. The feeling of nausea has gone at least for now as she slightly smiled to Skylar before speaking.
"I wasn't expecting it. But that will be my pleasure of course." she paused thinking.
"No actually winter is nice too. Since nights are cold there are no clouds so the sky is most of the time clear. Unless if there is fog but that's mostly at dawn I guess." she told Skylar.
"So don't worry! We can stargaze whenever you want to!" she finally said with a smile really happy about her friend's proposal.
Although she was pleased about it it was kind of ironic Skylar asked her to stargaze together when she has been doing it over the past few days explaining her condition today. As much as she wanted to Rose had to refrain from doing it for some days in order to get proper sleep thus she hoped Skylar wouldn't suggest a coming days at least not this week.
