‘Finally.. I made it through the day..’ Leo thought to himself as the professor finished up and Leo was able to pack his things up he leave from his last class. Letting out a relieved sigh, he hurried himself through the corridors and managed to not fight with the changing staircases on his way back to the Ravenclaw common room. As he made it to the common room he was extremely happy to see that some other students had gotten there just before he did and opened the door so now he wouldn’t have to. Once he was back in his dorm room, he took his robe off, folding it carefully and placing it on the bed before putting his notebook and books on his desk. Since it was the first day there wasn’t much to do yet which he was happy about because it meant he didn’t need to worry about going out to meet Cecilia during their free period. He glanced down at his uniform and decided to leave the rest of it on and headed back out of the dorms.

After their chance reunion during their first class, Leo had been eager to meet up this afternoon to check out more of the castle with her. The school was huge so there would be a lot to explore, definitely would take some time to check out everything there was to offer. As he wandered through the halls again, he kept up a brisk pace as to not be late for their meeting, although after her display this morning he wouldn’t be surprised if Cecilia ran late now too. The castle truly was beautiful, the stories he heard from his family really didn’t do it justice. Everywhere he looked there was something to see. As he walked he checked out all the artworks that lined the walls, the statues and other objects that were on display and noted the ghosts he passed on the way to their meeting spot. Now he wondered what the other common rooms looked like. The Ravenclaw common room was beautiful, truly inspiring for creativity and studying both. He wished he was able to just walk around in the other common rooms just to see the decor and stuff even though he knew that would be against the rules.

‘Okay.. left here I think..’ He took the turn and moved over by the wall so he was out of the way. There was some students that passed by here and there after he stopped. To his left and right were some of the suits of armor, the very same ones he heard were rumored to defend the castle if necessary. He imagined the sight of the empty armor coming to life and wielding swords to fight, certain it would be an interesting thing to get to witness but not something he hoped to ever have to.

Leo let out a quiet yawn and stretched his arms up above his head, leaning back against the wall. He glanced down the corridor then back the other way before putting his head back against the wall and slowly sliding down to sit and wait. After the long day he had the day before, waking up early for classes that morning and making it through the first day, Leo definitely would be sleeping well tonight. He decided to close his eyes and just wait for her like that, not asleep, just relaxing.

He honestly didn’t mind that she was a little late because he got to take the couple of minutes to just sit and rest, something he knew he wouldn’t get much of once things started picking up and he would have more activities and studying to do. As he sat there, he started thinking about what Cecilia had planned for them. He knew it couldn’t just be exploring with her personality but she did promise they would be back for dinner so at the very least it couldn’t be too crazy. Although Leo wasn’t the most outgoing or adventurous, her proposal for the little outing this evening piqued his curious nature enough to agree to join her. Maybe a little more than that as he also wanted to befriend her more since he remembered their other brief encounters at parties in the past. Hopefully today would be the start of an interesting new friendship for the two young first years.

The rest of the day progressed rather smoothly for Cecilia, with some classes proving to be more dreary than others. However, she was fairly certain that none could exceed the History of Magic when it came to instilling boredom. It took every ounce of her willpower not to fall asleep as the lecture progressed, but she managed to hold on. Even though Leo was not there to poke fun at the sight, she was sure that many more opportunities would present themselves to him.

Speaking of the raven, the time for their scheduled antics exploration drew near. After being dismissed from the final class, Cecilia swiftly made her way to her dorms. She did not think that living in the dungeons was as horrid as other people made it sound until she found herself sprinting down several flights of stairs. It seemed like a cruel and unusual form of torture that would take too much time to become accustomed to. Alas, this was no time for her to wallow in misery.

Once she placed her quill and parchment onto her desk, she raced out of the dungeons and up the grand staircase. She was so excited to explore the castle with Leo that she did not complain when the staircase shifted beneath her once more. Despite his status, the boy did not look down on Cecilia for her unique disposition. Whenever she failed to conform to societal expectations at galas, he was one of the few people who never turned their noses up at her. Manners and pleasantries seldom mattered in their previous exchanges, which she was truly grateful for. Cecilia secretly hoped that their adventure could spark the beginning of a chaotic beautiful friendship. It was a lovely thought.

By the time Cecilia reached the second floor, her cheeks were flushed. Panting softly, she pressed her palm against the nearest wall for support before glancing down the corridor. Her gaze fixed on a familiar raven-haired boy leaning against the wall with his eyes closed. Was she so late that he had time to doze off? Cecilia tried to reassure herself that he was simply exhausted after a long day, but a tinge of guilt gnawed at her for not arriving sooner. After all, she was the one who proposed to meet at this hour. Still, she was grateful that he still waited and knew that she ought to make it up to him somehow.

As she approached Leo with soft steps, her gaze trailed to the paintings on the wall, then the suits of armour lined up against the walls. The metal was so polished that she glimpsed a distorted reflection of herself in it. Fortunately, her hair did not appear as dishevelled as before. Most of her auburn curls were neatly secured into a high ponytail by a bow, save for two short strands that framed her face. She stretched her hand out to trace her fingers over the engraved swirls on the cold steel. How exciting it must have been to don such armour, she mused before allowing her hand to drop to her side. Somehow, she had overlooked the castle decor whilst rushing to her classes, but it seemed so spectacular now that she was permitted a closer look.

“Rise and shine, Noxley,” she greeted him with a warm smile. Though she had half the mind to let him rest a little longer, she remembered her promise to wrap things up by supper. If that were to be kept, she had no time to waste. “First day wore you out?” she guessed with a short laugh. “You know, you ought to be more careful about dozing off here. Someone could draw on your face with everlasting ink,” she warned jokingly and paused briefly before adding a disclaimer. “Not me, though. I would never do such a thing,” she hummed innocently before biting her lip to suppress a knowing smirk.

“Shall we begin our first adventure?” she asked, extending her hand towards him, palm up to help him up.

════════════Leo had gotten so comfortable leaning against the wall to rest that he almost would have slipped into a full on nap right there had he not heard footsteps approaching him followed by a familiar voice. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up to see Cece smiling down at him. As he came out of the slight daze he was in from resting his eyes for a bit, he heard Cece joking about him napping in the middle of the corridor. “You know, for some reason, I don’t believe that. I think you would be first in line to do that to me or some other poor soul sitting out here.” He chuckled and rolled his eyes, a playful smirk gracing his lips as he reached his hand up to take hers. For a moment it seemed like he was just going to use her to help him stand up but he quickly flipped the script and pulled her down so she was now sitting beside him on the ground. “See, it is quite comfortable down here, don’t ya think?” He asked jokingly as he erupted in a louder laugh, hoping she would take the joke okay since she was pretty playful herself.

As he got up off the floor he reached both hands out to help Cece up as well and then brushed off his clothes. In the time he has known Cecilia, he had seen her do certainly interesting things like what she had suggested would be done to him for being so trusting while relaxing there. It still came as a shock to him that someone he had known before due to attending these fancy, high society events where people were so particular about proper etiquette and manners, was still so unapologetically herself and adventurous. In truth he wished he could be more like that, even though he knew that was probably a wasted thought since there was probably no escaping his family’s expectations for him. But he was happy to have a friend like her around to maybe push him a little to step outside the perfect box he has had to keep up for his family’s sake. But Cece never seemed to care much about his family’s status and never treated him differently because of it which made him feel like they were friends and not just because of all that.

He pushed the worry out of his head for the moment and focused on the fiery red headed girl in front of him. “Now then, I believe you promised me an adventure around the castle?” Leo said looking around the corridors. “Where exactly are we going?” He asked curiously and looked back at her. “We won’t be getting in trouble right?” He added on quickly just to be sure that she wasn’t planning anything outrageous that would get them sent to detention. Students were wandering through halls now, not minding the two little first years as they stood there bedside the tall suit of armor.

Cecilia pressed her palm against her chest, eyes blinking with feigned innocence. “Me?” she asked, brows arching briefly before her lips curled into a sly grin. It was rather amusing how difficult it was to fool Leo – not that she had ever felt the need to. Sincerity seemed simpler around someone so direct. However, his discerning nature left Cecilia curious as to whether he also shared her distaste for silver-tongues masquerading in their shared social circles. The discussion seemed inevitable, given their shared social obligations, but she still avoided it for now. The thought seemed too exhausting and a bit too much for their first evening at Hogwarts. After all, they were here for a good time.

“I never knew you thought so highly of me, Noxley. I’m flattered,” she remarked, tone laced with sarcasm before she let out a short laugh. The echo of her laughter abruptly died down as she was tugged towards the ground. In an instant, Cecilia found herself sprawled on the cold floor and left speechless as she processed what had happened.

After a few seconds of staring at Leo in disbelief, her eyes gleamed and rouged lips curled upwards as she began laughing with him. “Were you always such a menace?” Cecilia asked half-jokingly, tilting her head as she narrowed her eyes. It was difficult to say whether this was simply a new side of him or a result of her influence, but she was amused regardless.

“And if this is your definition of comfort, I’m truly concerned about the state of the Ravenclaw beds,” Cecilia joked before slipping her hand into his. Once he helped her back to her feet, she began dusting off her skirt. Her efforts were of little avail, for the fine particles clung stubbornly to the fabric. “Merlin’s beard, there must have been a century’s worth of dust down there. Looks like I’ll be investing in a pot of everlasting ink after all,” she mused, intending to pay him back in full for his little trick.

Upon hearing his question, Cecilia promptly lifted her chin. “Trouble?” she repeated as though it were the most absurd assumption she had ever heard. “I do not get into trouble, Noxley,” she clarified, flicking a lock of hair over her shoulder as a vulpine smile played on her lips. I get away with things.

Turning sharply on her heels with a huff, the young witch smacked right into a steel suit of armour. A loud rattle reverberated throughout the corridors as she yelped in pain and clutched her forehead. For a moment, the armour seemingly recoiled as though it had also been startled by the clash.

“Argh seriously, what are these things even made of? I didn’t even see it there,” Cecilia groaned, rubbing the sore spot gently. Then she began tapping her chin thoughtfully as an idea began forming in her mind. Apparently that whack was just what she needed to think of the perfect adventure for their first day.

“...Say, what would constitute trouble?” she asked, glancing at Leo over her shoulder. “Surely not investigating rumours, right? Word has it that the abandoned bathrooms host some interesting ghosts.” Mind you, Cecilia had only heard brief mentions of this in the bustling common room, but she was eager to find out if this claim held any weight. A sly smile played on her lips as she watched him carefully, searching any hint of fear or intrigue...
