_______________________________________________________________Korinna brushed through the hallway, her eyes brimming with exhaustion. Students poured out of the classrooms in torrents, chattering in the hallways, drowning out her thoughts like a flood. And what she wouldn't give to go back to her common room at this very minute.
She tucked the last of her notes from class in her satchel and spun on her heels, smiling amiably and greeting people who walked past. "Hello! Hope you're doing well! -I- oh! hey there!"
When would they see she was a fraud? Pathetic.
"Good afternoon! - yes, yes i'm doing well! You?"
Friendly? She wasn't supposed to be friendly. She didn't deserve friends. Maybe she should just -
"Hey!! Lovely to meet you!"
Stop.
She whirled around again, jumping back when she found herself face to face with another student, likely her year by the looks of it. Perhaps they'd never met before? But did she really care?
She wasn't sure what it was, but she wasn't feeling quite so amiable to this particular person. Before she knew it, she was annoyed and angry at herself for startling them, for startling themselves. And it came out as undeniably rude. She probably owed an apology but she didn't really care anymore - everyone despised her anyway, hm?
"What do you want?"

_______________________________________________________________Korinna paused, her eyes widening with instant regret as the girl dropped her things in shock and looked as if she was about to cry, her voice shaky and uncertain. "I-" i'm sorry? that wasn't an adequate apology.
"I.. was talking to you but didn't mean to startle you or be rude in any way. I'm sorry." she winced, nodding slightly. A bit of a curt apology, and still not adequate. Why was she always like this with first encounters?
Korinna balled her fists angrily, stuffing them in her pockets so as to hopefully not startle the poor girl further. She wasn't angry at her, of course, for she'd did nothing wrong - on the contrary, she'd rather like to get as far away from her as possible. This was all she did. Hurt people so badly they'd never want to see her again.
Her eyes softened as she glanced at the photo that had fluttered out of the other girl's bag. "That's an adorable cat! I - i'm Korinna, by the way. You?"
She studied the picture a little closer, slightly confused when the cat didn't move. Was it asleep? Surely not, for it was chasing a ball of ya - oh. Oh. Those strange muggle photographs, the ones that were still as a feather. They rather fascinated her.
"You're a muggleborn?" And it appeared to be so, for very few purebloods would let themselves end up in hufflepuff, surely. Maybe a half-blood. She had truly longed to be in hufflepuff but of course she would have been disowned. Ravenclaw was acceptable, however. And she had to agree it suited her well.
The question didn't mean to come out as harsh, just a quiet question that had been stuck at the back of her mind ever since she had bumped into the girl - she truly hoped that it wouldn't be taken as rude... she already wanted to crawl into a hole and die. Korinna truly didn't mean to rope the girl into her troubles, for it seemed she had troubles of her own.

_______________________________________________________________The girl nodded again, apologetically. With a shock, she realized the other girl was crying . H-had... was it because of her? She felt like such an idiot. A horrible person. Was this... a facade she had put up? Or even worse, was this how she truly treated others? The thought of being like him made her sick to her stomach.
"I-i'm"... maybe it was best not to say anything further. Commenting on the cat couldn't hurt, right? "Hi Amelia! A pleasure to meet you as well!" probably a lie.
Korinna smiled, grateful for the change in topic. "Awh! Mittens is an adorable name! Seems quite fitting for the little guy" she giggled. "I have a cat back at home too - though she doesn't much like chasing yarn, which is surprising. "
Her next question about being a muggleborn seemed to strike a nerve in the hufflepuff. Korinna's face fell as she wasn't sure how to answer, once again. "I didn't mean it as a bad thing, I was just wondering about the still picture!" she added quickly, though she was pretty sure she might have implied that. "It's just... a lot of hufflepuffs are muggleborns because they don't have a good enough knowledge of the wizarding world to be in a better house, or so i've heard. The muggle world rather fascinates me! I suppose we purebloods lack knowledge of the muggle world, too. I'd love to take muggle studies. Do you know much of ekcletrcity?"
Oh that came out all wrong. Was that meant as a an insult to hufflepuffs or a muggleborn diss? Even worse, she didn't mean it as either. But it was too late to back out - she might need to keep up the haughty mean pureblood act just a little longer. Oh how she hated this.

apologies for the late response!! If i'm remembering correctly the point of the RP was to have amelia feel bad about being muggleborn and for them not to resolve now? trying to push it as much as possible so that amelia could potentially be much further offended if you so wish (up to you!) but sweet kori would never make her feel bad on purpose... she's kind of echoing what her pureblood parents think about the different houses as a newer hogwarts student
ALSO MY HUMBLEST APOLOGIES TO HUFFLEBUDDIES I LOVE YOU GUYSWC - 302/200
