Diagon Alley was really crowded and uncomfortable. While shopping for books, Lenora couldn't stand the stress and left.
As Lenora walked through the crowded street, she suddenly felt a burning sensation in her body. She noticed the sun's rays and began to run. She entered one of the shops she saw.
When the cold air hit her face, she forgot about the warm air outside. When she squinted her eyes and looked around, she was surprised to see customers eating ice cream. "Do wizards even know what ice cream is?" she couldn't help but think. When she looked in her bag and saw that she had a few large gold coins, she got in line for ice cream. She didn't know much about money, but she was sure she had enough money to buy ice cream.
When Lenora's turn came, the employee looked at the ashbino girl in surprise. Wizard was sure that Lenora's cheeks were slightly red from the sun because she was a Dhampir and her skin was very sensitive. She didn't think there would be a permanent burn. She looked at the menu and was intrigued by the colorful ice cream.
"One Waffle Dish Sundae, please."
She watched the ice cream being made, trying to shake off the thought of everyone staring at her. When the ice cream was finished, Lenora paid and sat down at an empty table, took sunscreen out of her bag, and put it on her face.

Seeing Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, Cassian slipped in, but it wasn’t for anything sweet. The swarm of first years plaguing Diagon Alley, and he would rather not be pushed and shoved like an ordinary tourist. Finding a table near the window afforded him a direct view of the street from which a sudden flash of movement caught his eye. A girl with pale moonlight skin darted inside as if she were being chased by someone or something. It was clear that the cool air gave her some sense of relief as her shoulders loosened as if the heat had been clawing at her. Cassian continued to pretend to be busy with his reading as he looked over the rim of his small book. With a raised brow, he noticed the flush present in her skin unevenly. He kept his cool enough not to look noticeable, realizing she was cautiously scanning the room to see if anyone had taken notice. Nothing was more telling than the bottle of sunscreen that she hauled from her bag as if she were on a deadline for an application.
Cassian’s father had drilled the taxonomy of magical creatures into him for the past few years, preparing for Hogwarts. The signs were intriguing and curious, even telling without being explicit. While Cassian had little patience for half-breeds, he wasn’t blind. Unfortunately, he was a casualty of his own curiosity, which was one of his more persistent flaws. Closing his book softly, he stood up and strolled across the small space in confidence, stopping in front of her table. He was close enough to speak without being overheard by the others in the ice cream parlour, but far enough for his presence not to be mistaken for friendliness.
“You know…” he said lightly as his gaze went from the sunscreen bottle back to hers, “…most witches don’t bother with that unless there is a beach around.”
He let the observation linger in a measured yet polite manner without mistaking the pointed statement.
“You also came indoors in an expedient manner,” he said, glancing out at the sky, “It’s barely warm out, I can’t imagine the sun is beaming down that hot to send folks running for cover.”
His tone wasn’t one manifested in accusation, but mere interest sharpened by his upbringing. He has an instinct for pointing out unusual things. Cassian couldn’t help but look at her sundae.
“First time at Fortescue’s? You’re staring at your ice cream as if it’s a foreign delicacy.”
He shifted the tilt of his head to be more courteous, “I’m Cassian, by the way.”

@Cassian MorvaleLenora was brought back to reality when she heard the voice. She averted her eyes. He appeared to be taller than she was. Unlike Lenora's pale complexion, the boy had dark skin. 'I wonder if he realized I was a Dhampir,' she thought. She felt her heart beating rapidly.
"W-well, my skin is very sensitive. Since I'm albino, it can get red easily."
She tried not to show her canine teeth as she spoke. It wasn't exactly a lie, but Lenora could still feel herself sweating. She swallowed and put the sunscreen she was holding back in her bag.
"Well, my family isn't wizards and everything is very new to me. My family is trying to help me but... I don't know."
She started playing in the ice cream with an ice cream spoon. When she said this, she was talking about the family she was currently living in. Lenora didn't feel comfortable mentioning someone she hadn't met before.
"Nice to meet you, Cassian. Well, I'm Lenora."
Lenora avoids eye contact when speaking. Her eyes are shaking uncontrollably. She's playing with her ice cream because she doesn't want Cassian to see it.
"Is this your first time here?"
Lenora was trying to find something else to talk about.

Cassian watched as Lenora dodged direct eye contact as her fingers trembled around her spoon in her sundae. While most people wouldn’t have directly noticed, Cassian always did. Observing everyone around him was complete second nature to him by now.
“Albino…hmm,” he said to himself quietly, comparing the explanation with the subtle details he had picked up in observation.
The uneven flush, the urgency of removal from the sunlight, and the application of sunscreen as if it were a shield. Albino could be plausible…but not an entirely satisfying answer.
“Well, that would explain why you are so bothered by the sun,” he said with a nod. “Though….your reaction was rather swift. A lot quicker than most.” There was no judgment from Cassian’s position; this was all stated out of his curiosity.
The witch, mentioning that she was unfamiliar with the wizarding world, made him study her a bit longer. “You don’t seem overwhelmed with it all like most Muggle-raised students. You seem a lot more aware and adjusted to the magic around you.” This was almost a compliment, given that it was coming from Cassian in his usual flat, analytical manner.
When she finally gave her name, Cassian offered a quiet acknowledgement. “Lenora…it’s befitting for someone with an uncommon demeanor.” He stepped back half a pace, giving her more room. This was the warmest gesture Cassian could offer a stranger. As Lenora tried to steer the conversation in another direction, asking whether this was his first visit, his posture relaxed a bit.
“Yes, it is. My family usually has our essentials delivered; we don’t typically linger in Diagon Alley for too long.” Cassian straightened up and lifted his posture once more. "Crowded environments are typically frowned upon in my household.”
Cassian returned his stare at her practically untouched sundae. “What’s the matter, not really much for sweets? Or did the sun affect you that much?”
While it may have been a modest question on the surface, he really wanted to get down to the bottom of the intriguing mystery in front of him.
You’re hiding something, I am sure of it. Luckily for you, I am not one for exposure.

Lenora averted her eyes. She could feel her heart racing.
"I just had a little more time to fit in compared to other Muggle-borns."
She swallowed involuntarily. Her knowledge of her real family or magic was limited to what a witch had told her.
"In Spanish, it means 'light'. And I don't have any unusual behavior."
The last sentence came out unintentionally. 'Calm down, Lenora.' She knew it was an overreaction.
"Can you order delivery to your home even in the wizarding world?"
She couldn't hide her surprise. Her family had adapted their lives to suit Lenora because she was albino. One of these adaptations was ordering more things online. She was trying to somehow reconcile her own life with the world of magic.
When the child started talking, she noticed that her ice cream was still melting on the table. She took a scoop of the melting ice cream from the edge with her spoon and put it in her mouth.
"Do you have a favorite flavor of ice cream?"
She wiped the ice cream from her face, and as she touched the redness, a breath involuntarily escaped through her teeth. 'At least there won't be a trace,' she thought.
