Basics:

Descended from a family of plumbers, Freya is a firm believer that anything can be fixed with a plunger and a wrench. From a young age, she eagerly followed her father and grandfather around on their business calls for Pipeline Plumbing, focusing intently at an early age on their work and business. Freya knew that her destiny was to be a plumber, and she wished to be as knowledgeable as she could possibly be about the career. Freya still firmly embraces that she is a plumber even when she was not underneath some pipes and often tries to solve problems beyond her scope. Even if she does not know the answer, she attempts to help so that everyone can benefit from a clear flow.

Due to the nature of the plumbing business, Caelin and Aldora decided it would be best if their daughter was homeschooled. Freya spent most of her days with her father and grandfather while her mother worked her clerical job as a receptionist. When she returned home, the parents would split their time teaching Freya the subjects she needed. This unusual setup is the reason that she is a few years behind where a traditional Muggle child would be. Despite this, maths, particularly physics, always was her favorite subject, due to the problem solving required. Caelin excels at looking at a problem, particularly in plumbing, and generating the solution that is more appropriate. Aldora, similarly, enjoys thinking of concepts in more of an abstract way, though she does not use it often in her daily life. The combination of the two's skillsets allows Freya to analyze a situation physically and socially quite well; however, she is not always aware of her physical and intellectual limitations due to her age and lack of experience. She knows how to take a situation in, and as she observes and calculates her next steps, she will often contort her face into a concentrated, somewhat angry looking expression. 

Freya is not fully convinced that she will enjoy magic, even as she is in the midst of her initial experiences with it. She believes that she will "do the magic thing" and return back to Pipeline Plumbing to carry on the family business. However, Freya does enjoy the problem-solving aspects of it and learning something new. There are always problems, and she will solve them. While her stubbornness to make things right and impatience when that does not work out may not play in her favorite, Freya's inquisitive nature will certainly lead her to have a rewarding time at school.

Descended from a family of plumbers, Freya is a firm believer that anything can be fixed with a plunger and a wrench. Aldora and Cailen Thomas knew that, when they welcomed their first-born and only child into the world, that, though the plumbing business had traditionally gone down the paternal line, Freya would be a perfect addition to the family business. From a young age, she eagerly followed her father and grandfather around on their business calls for Pipeline Plumbing, watching them install dental chairs, insert fountains in public spaces, and yes, unclog toilets. Young Freya began her career early, armed with her favorite tool, the plunger, as that was one of the first things a child could be trusted to do. From the time she could walk until she began school, Freya was never far from her father or grandfather as they worked.

Caelin would always remind his daughter that "you are a plumber 24 hours a day, 7 days a week...it is the life we choose." Freya took that notion to heart. While she loved all parts of the business, the lessons she took beyond the toilets were what sold her on the profession. Freya always enjoyed the problem-solving aspects of plumbing, trying to discover the origins of the leaks or why certain pieces did not fit together. Like Caelin told her, she was a plumber always, whether on the job or in life, and Freya tried to plumb all that was in front of her. One of her most memorable actions was when her friends from the neighborhood got into an argument, and young Freya brought a plunger to try to unclog their issues. When she told her parents, Caelin beamed of pride, while Aldora hid her face, partly of embarrassment, partly of hysterics. Her friends did resolve their issues, and Freya knew that her problem solving with the plunger was driving force.

Freya is an average-sized, gawky looking girl who is much stronger than she looks. She is much more concerned about learning and helping others than her appearance, which is shown by the fact that she does not always look the best. Oftentimes, her practically cut blonde hair is a mess from exploring outside or getting too deep in the pipes. She almost never wears dresses and tends to wear a scowl, less because she is upset, more because she concentrates best when she really focuses her face on the scene around her. That facial expression, however, can be extremely off-putting, though Freya is quick to smile and joke when conversing. She loves to tangle in the trees outside, do math problems, learn how things work, and laugh with friends. She tends to get along best with males, as she cares more about having fun than gossiping, but she'll do anything to help others with their issues.

Magic was merely for tales of make believe in Freya's world, as it did not align with logic. Needless to say, Caelin and Aldora felt similarly, as they were Muggles. Things seemingly appearing out of nowhere? Mary Poppins would have been more believable if she had believed a little less in "A Spoonful of Sugar" and a little more of good old fashioned hard work and calculations. So when, one day, when nine-year-old Freya managed to unclog a toilet out of pure frustration, she just accredited it to some inexplicable toilet pressure, even though the multiple toy cars burst out of the toilet at impressive speed, just as she was getting expressly frustrated at how little help her plunger had been at this moment. Freya may not have been plunging the toilet when it unclogged, but she knew that, by taking a break from the vigorous motion, she had problem-solved that toilet back to its former glory.

It wasn't until her eleventh birthday that Freya had any suspicion that magic was actually possible. Even when the official explained everything to her and her family, Freya couldn't help but inquire if this was all a silly joke, as her birthday, April 14, was very close to the holiday for fools. When she realized that this was all reality, young Freya did what any plumb-happy girl would do...she sobbed. Freya could not bear the thought of not spending nearly every day with her friends and the workers of Pipeline Plumbing, but equally as shocked Aldora and Cailen knew that she could not refuse such an opportunity. The months before school consisted of many reassurances that yes, Freya could still become a plumber if that magic thing didn't work out.

So, still quite a bit hesitant and eternally convinced that she will try this magic thing, and after seven years return to work for Pipeline Plumbing, Freya is off to try her hand at something new: magic. She knows that, even in the magical world, there will be toilets to fix and problems to solve, and like her father said, she will still be a plumber, no matter what. She knows that there may be less leaks to solve, but just like she learned with her friends, there are always problems, and she will solve them. While her stubbornness to make things right and impatience when that does not work out may not play in her favorite, Freya's inquisitive nature will certainly lead her to have a rewarding time at school. If all else fails, she knows that at least she'll have something to fall back on.
