· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·A week ago, a shipment of what was quickly becoming one of Koko's favourite magazines had arrived. Giddily – of course, after ensuring she was alone – she had curled up on the couch in her shared flat in Cork and had begun flipping through the pages. As disillusioned as she was with her career, she still highly valued aestheticism and athleticism, two things that Marvellous Mages seemed to specialise in.
One article had detailed a gardener who had started a plant-based fashion line. Koko had raised an eyebrow – who would want to wear plant-based leather? – and had turned the page. The series of photographs that had greeted her had made her lift her eyebrows. Okay. The young man had appeared extremely familiar, although she hadn't had the privilege of seeing him in this lighting before. She had narrowed her eyes at the columns of words surrounding the image and began to read about The Arjan Oberoi.
It had not taken her long to discern that Mr Arjan Oberoi had attended Durmstrang – she might have seen him at an event, or, perhaps at the alumni broom race. He also had quite the following among young witches. Well, it was hardly a surprise, Koko mused, given his physique. What was more interesting, though, was that he was still an athlete, but also seemed to be pursuing the realm of publicity. PR was something Koko had thought herself adept in at school, and something she'd actually not thought much about pursuing in adulthood; however, given this Arjan Oberoi's apparent success (he had gotten a rather nice photo shoot)... he clearly knew some of what he was doing. And if he didn't, Koko did. She could help him advertise, and he could help her boost her image. An eye for an eye, or whatever the phrase was.
It took a bit of research, but after scouring issuances of multiple newspapers and magazines for details on when she could approach Mr Oberoi, one small magazine promoting fan mail proclaimed he would be involved in an open-mic Q&A about fame on Tuesday evening in London. So they had another shared interest – a fact that only solidified Koko's desire to talk to this young man. She cleaned up rather quickly after work and changed into a modest brown dress, pulled a coat over her shoulders and slipped on a pair of black pumps before taking the floo to London. She kept some spare coins, a notebook and a Quick-Quotes Quill and ink in her pockets, and it was with uncharacteristically-bright eyes and a self-assured smile that she made her way to the address in the magazine.
There were a surprising number of people inside the establishment, considering how small the magazine's following had been, but the air of grandeur inside assured Koko that this was the correct place. She glanced between the various people who had shown up, searching for a tall, well-built young man who looked even remotely like the man in the photographs, but her height did not aid her search, and she ended up simply gravitating towards the centre of the crowd in hopes of having a better look. Only finally did she happen upon someone who seemed somewhat like Mr Oberoi, and she would do her best to approach him – 'Hello there – you are The Arjan Oberoi, no?' She raised an eyebrow at him but smiled a bit nonetheless, making sure to emphasise the the before his name. The one and only was how he'd been toted in the original article she'd read, after all.
Should he deign to give her his attention, she would continue with, 'I'm Koko. I saw your photoshoot in Marvellous Mages and then did a bit of research. I'm relatively well-versed in PR for others, although I have some questions about how I could bolster my own success... perhaps we could chat?' Although she did not say it outright, she hoped she could at least convey her point: we can help each other.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

You would think that The Mighty Arjan Oberoi would get bored of working but the truth was, he never did. There was always something to entertain himself with - or someone - and he found that travelling around for work was actually becoming something he was enjoying. This week was particularly busy, with his agent scheduling various interviews and public appearances. None of them were with big names though, much to his dismay. He was still waiting for the big brands to start their sponsorship deal. When was he going to get a broom named after him or start getting sponsored to wear specific footwear?
Nonetheless, he was here - because every single opportunity was up for grabs and he was not going to waste any of them when it came to bettering his reputation. Besides, he could spin this. Perhaps it was 'a small affair to help bond with his fans' or something. Yeah, fans would eat that nonsense up. They would love it.
The crowd was much smaller than he would have liked but he understood. They were intimidated by him. Of course they were! People struggled to show up when they were intimidated by his glory. That made perfect sense. He was donning his uniform from the League One games, just for recognition purposes. It made it easier for branding, supposedly. But he much rather be in a suit. It was not very 'wizardy' of him but darn, he looked good in it. The mirror would get jealous of how good he looked in a suit.
But then again, The Arjan Oberoi looked good in everything. It just so happened that in a suit, he was perfection. But he still looked amazing in his sports uniform - clearly the hottest man for hundreds of thousands of miles around.
A female's voice caught his attention and his hazel brown eyes took her in. She was stunning. Wait. She was familiar. He could not quite place it but he was sure he had seen her fairly recently. Perhaps at a recent game? Maybe at an event? He could not figure it out but he had definitely seen her face. For some reason, they had just not spoken. A shame, really. One that was about to be rectified, much to his pleasure.
More importantly, she even addressed him correctly. The Arjan Oberoi. It was working. His brand was being formed. He smirked, "Of course. The One and Only. A pleasure to meet you, Miss...?" He paused for a moment, giving her his full attention with the famous smirk playing on his lips.
She immediately went into a full sales pitch. He normally would have brushed the sales pitch part of the conversation off but coming for such a beautiful face, he was caught on every word. That and she was saying the right things. Playing to his ego in the best way possible. He quirked his eyebrow at her words. An interesting proposal. Though, he was more interested in spending time with her. He could definitely hear her out and if she did manage to come up with better ideas than his current PR team then that would just be a bonus to this evening, "Of course. Please," He motioned towards the booths at the side of the room that was reserved for VIPs, they were not very far away.
He specifically motioned towards the one reserved for him, of course. If she did follow, he would wait for her to sit down before following suit, "Can I get you something to drink?" He'd ask, already raising his hand to usher the wait staff over to give his own order.
Arjan considered asking if they had met before but he did not want to seem like he forgot her. How could he forget such a gorgeous person? There was something almost... alluring about her, some would say. "So tell me, Miss Koko, what can I do for you?"

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Just as much as Koko had seemed to understand what to say to Mr Arjan Oberoi, it seemed he knew how to speak to her, something she much appreciated. This was the downside of an athletic job – in actuality, few of her teammates and even other coworkers were 'people people'; they generally preferred brooms or freshly-cut grass to human interaction. While some at Cork Quidditch Stadium had prime charisma skills, that did not extend to the majority.
It was refreshing to properly encounter someone who knew when – and how – to smile winningly. In fact, the close-up of Mr Oberoi's self-satisfied smirk had Koko almost certain that this was, indeed, her comfort zone. She smiled in turn, although her take on it was a bit less obviously self-pleased and instead simply polite. She followed him to the more secluded booths with a soft, 'Cheers.'
As she followed him, she – once again – could have sworn she'd seen his silhouette before, and not just in a magazine of aesthetic intrigue. Had he gone to Hogwarts? Certainly not; he would have recognised her if that had been the case. Perhaps he'd been a VIP at a recent Quidditch game, or had attended an event she'd been at. Whatever the case, she kept stealing glances at him as surreptitiously as possible, which became far more difficult once they sat down and she was again face-to-face with him. At any rate, his face wasn't a bad one to look at – well-proportioned and well-groomed, Mr Oberoi was definitely a clear cut above most other men.
'Yes, please,' she said after a moment's hesitation, having had to think. She folded her hands on the table and added, 'A tequila sunrise would be great.' She took the opportunity to have a quick look around the room once again – big, but not that big, in the grand scheme of things; crowded, albeit not immensely so, which gave it an atmosphere that, in leisurewear, might have been considered 'cosy'.
He asked what he could do for her, which was exactly what she had wanted. If he was truly curious about PR benefits, she was good enough at talking that she was certain they could truly benefit each other, but after a few months working on a team, Koko dearly missed the spotlight that Arjan seemed to be so accustomed to. 'I'm glad you asked,' she said cheekily, smirking. She flexed her fingers, folded them again and met Arjan's gaze. 'I crave success. Limelight. You know.' She gestured vaguely in front of her as if to say, shiny things, fame, all that jazz. If anyone could read her mind in that instant, it would probably have been Arjan.
'You're young – I know that much. I mean, I'd be surprised if you were a day over twenty. And you've at least been able to get events such as this, which is a lovely start. It's been a bit difficult for me to organise happenings outside of my Quidditch team; I was wondering how you managed to get your connections.' There – surely that was a way of putting it that would have her absolutely humiliating herself and still sounding as if she was on top of things. Which she was. Clearly. 'Or, better yet, if you've got suggestions on who to talk to.' It was times like this when Koko wished she liked reading enough to be a snazzy nepo baby lawyer; unfortunately, she had no desire to pursue the familial legacy of arbitration.
She glanced at her hands again, rubbing at one of her polished nails with her thumb, and then returned her bright amber gaze to meet Arjan's, still smiling politely.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

Arjan nodded and gave the waiter a little wave, "Make that two," He appreciated having a beautiful woman to look at as she spoke, though it was a little hard to concentrate on the words that were exiting her mouth when he was staring at the way her lips moved. There was something about her. Almost... alluringly beautiful, as some would say. She seemed polite, well educated and from a good upbringing but it was always hard to tell these things. People could fake so much.
He had to admit he was curious, though. She craved the same things that he did. And whilst she was complimenting him, he also understood that she was hinting there was more that could be done - with her help. Arjan could not help but smirk a little at her own confidence and perhaps arrogance but it was clear where she needed help. His ability to network, to build connections and get people to do what he needed them to do was what she was after. The issue, however, was that the connections she wanted might not have been the ones that he had easy access to. The Oberoi family connections did not value athletics or sports, such as Quidditch. They valued things that did not make them sweat, that did not require hardwork, that could be done by talking a lot and doing very little.
The connections he had made through his athletic career was a combination of two things - dedication and money. Sometimes, throwing money at a problem truly solves everything. He chuckled softly and nodded, "I could definitely manage to make some good suggestions for you," He took a sip of the drink once it had arrived, "What precisely are you hoping for? I imagine it isn't team events," He questioned, deciding that she probably wanted something more on an individual basis of limelight as she did not seem like the type to be here for her Quidditch team.
"Tell me more about yourself," He continued, trying to figure out exactly how to help her. Perhaps he could get her some magazine connections or interviews... Maybe they could do something together... At the back of his mind, he could not help but wonder what he was going to get out of this but for now, he was happy to talk about her. After all, he knew everyone loved to talk about themselves and he was happy to spend a bit more time with her whilst he could. Maybe something she said happened to also be useful. But for now, he barely knew anything about her. She played Quidditch - though he had no idea who for or what role - and was decent at PR. Honestly, when he had sat down, he was expecting her to be a PR person and was ready to fire his team, hiring her instead. Now he was going to have to rethink the whole thing.
