Oh forget it. Formality. Psh.
I do hope this letter finds you well. I miss you dreadfully... and ardently hope that you can convince your father to let you come. Hogwarts is terribly lonely without you - darn, it would be so much better if we had some better way to communicate.
Now the updates, the juicy gossip, as I promised you when we corresponded last. Ravenclaw is rather lovely, and everyone seems decently nice - though I haven't really gotten to talk to many people. And I know what you're thinking. Absolutely not.
Classes are interesting enough, though the homework is just. phew. I've been spending all my time in the library and in the common room, which is absolutely gorgeous. The view is amazing from up on the tower.
It's almost just as I expected, really. What we expected. I only wish you were here.

This is a backdated and rather vague letter written by Korinna early first year, recently after she arrived at Hogwarts. It's addressed to an unnamed childhood friend who grew up in a wizarding family (half-blood) but discovered to be a squib and was sent to a muggle school instead, her Father disassociating with the wizarding world entirely. This saddens them both as they grew up in the same neighborhood expecting to go to Hogwarts together - Korinna is also coping with the new environment and her own family's expectations for her.
