Lake Shore Picnic
I walked down to the lake, holding a small basket of food that my parents had sent me, and went right up the edge of the glimmering lake. I put down the basket, took a picnic rug out of the basket, spread out the soft rug, and sat on it, looking up towards the castle to see if I could see Gaia, who had organised a picnic by the lake to discuss our summers, and to talk about the coming year. I decided to spend a few minutes setting out the food that I’d brought – I had a pot of strawberry jam, bread, and some small sweets. Then, after displaying the food, I lay down on my front, staring into the deep blue waters.
After a few minutes, I looked up, and finally saw Gaia walking towards me, down the hill, holding some food as well. I sat up and swept my hair off my shoulders, and tucked it behind my ears. I was so excited for our picnic! When she reached me, I took her wrist and gently pulled her down onto the rug next to me, making sure none of the food would be where she was sitting.
“Hi.” I said, “How are you? I’ve brought some food, if you want to lay your stuff out. My parents sent my stuff this morning, ”

After a few minutes, I looked up, and finally saw Gaia walking towards me, down the hill, holding some food as well. I sat up and swept my hair off my shoulders, and tucked it behind my ears. I was so excited for our picnic! When she reached me, I took her wrist and gently pulled her down onto the rug next to me, making sure none of the food would be where she was sitting.
“Hi.” I said, “How are you? I’ve brought some food, if you want to lay your stuff out. My parents sent my stuff this morning, ”

"Hi! I am great! I am so happy to be back at Hogwarts again." I sit down and start taking out a lot of food from the bag that I was carrying over my shoulder.
"I brought some muggle sweets with me and I thought we could share them. I have Twix, Mars Bars, Milky Way, KitKat, Crunchie, Wispa, Curly Wurly and plain Dairy Milk chocolate bar." as I said this I unpacked my bulging bag.
"I have some Christmas cake me and my Mum made. My Mum makes it in advance so she doesn't forget. Then my Dad thought that should bring some healthy stuff with my and I love chicken fillet rolls but you can't bring hot chicken, peppers, bread rolls and cheese to Hogwarts. I wish I could get a mini fridge and keep it in my room but then I'd need a plug so instead he sent five chicken fillet rolls to me this morning! I thought I could bring them to the picnic. They are cut in half so you could just eat half if you don't want a full one." I said that very fast and took a deep breath.
"Anyways how's life? Anything interesting going on. Are you planning on trying out for quidditch? What about any other clubs?" I said that very fast each question right after the other giving Mirada no time to respond.
"Sorry about that. I feel like I haven't talked in ages!" I smile. "Please talk or I won't stop talking!"

"Wow. That's a lot of food!".
How was Gaia able to say that much in one breath! If I tried, I would probably collapse part way through!
"That's a good idea, cutting the chicken rolls in half. I've only brought sweet food, so I hope that's okay. Having a mini fridge would be so useful! But all the wizard born students would probably be extremely confused! Although, thinking about it, that would be so funny!"
I was glad that Gaia asked me how my summer had been, and whether I'd signed up for any clubs, because that gave me the opportunity to tell her my most interesting facts.
I waited until she stopped to finally breathe, laughing at how she said she wouldn't stop talking, before saying "I decided not to try out for quidditch. But, instead I've signed up for the Broom Racing team! I went to see my first match last week. Also, I've now got a pet kitten. She's an Egyptian Mau, and I've called her Isis." I paused for a few moments, before continuing by saying, "Have you met many other people so far this year? Thankfully, I've met a few more, mostly because I wasn't able to find you on the train, so I had to sit with some other people. They were nice, but it was extremely awkward. I just suddenly became extremely nervous again, and didn't speak much in front of them!"
I thought for a few seconds again, before asking, "That's so cool that you made the Christmas cake with your mum. My mum's rubbish at cooking! Are you going home for Christmas, or staying here? I think I'm probably going home."
