Gathering Courage and First Interaction
As Skylar was talking Rose could tell she indeed really liked plants. However listening to her story behind her interest for plants made Rose feeling sorry for Skylar as she saw sadness in her eyes even if Skylar was smiling. Rose hoped Skylar could make and have already made many friends here at Hogwarts.
It made Rose smiled internally to wish something to others when it wasn't even happening to herself at least not yet. It has always been hard for Rose to make friends but thankfully she didn't feel lonely at home and had few friends even if she hadn't talked to them since she has come here.
"I know we have just met but whenever you feel you want to talk to someone don't hesitate to come to me!" Rose said while smiling.
"Of course if you want to and feel like talking to me." she quickly added not to seem to oppressive and not for Skylar to feel forced to.
If people around her had some worries they wanted to share or just have a lot on their mind Rose was always happy to be there for them. She liked listening to people and advice them the best way she could. She was doing this because she would appreciate people doing the same for her. She lightly smiled thoughtfully when Skylar asked her another question about her goal here.
"To be honest I have no idea yet. I haven' t really thought of it. Maybe I should but I feel like I do have still time for." she answered thoughtfully.
"But who knows what might happen or which opportunity may come?" she said a bit optimistically while smiling at Skylar.
"Do you?" Rose asked curiously to Skylar since she asked her Rose was thinking Skylar could have indeed some goals she wanted to achieve.

As Rose said. "I know we have just met but whenever you feel you want to talk to someone don't hesitate to come to me!"
The phrase surprised Skylar, and she couldn’t keep her cool anymore. As genuine as it sounds, Rose was the first person to offer kindness like that. The warm feeling overwhelms the air enough to make her hold back her tears and look far away.
“Th…Thank you.”
She said as she avoided facing the girl. Maybe Rose could be the one, the real friend that she was looking for.
Skylar drowned in her thoughts while listening to Rose's plan. She shook her shoulder a bit when Rose asked her back. How can she put it that she planned to explore this place even it was forbidden.
“Actually, I have a dream to explore the world, going on adventures to every place I find interesting.”
She gave a nervous look at Rose and tried to keep her tone lower. Hope the girl didn’t find she was too extreme.
“And my first goal is... exploring the forbidden forest.”
She couldn’t help but express her true self with someone whom she trusted and considered a friend. Even though Rose was in Ravenclaw, the house that she thought it was full of smart people and the students who liked to be strict with the school rules. She still wanted to tell anyway.
Whatever the reaction she got, she accepted it all. But she had to be honest with her friend about what she wanted and what she was going to do.
“Recently, I got a fake permission to Hogsmeade.” She paused a bit. It wasn’t wise to tell Rose that she stole it from her older sister, so she cut that point out.
“I already tried and used it once, and I found something…umm…something extraordinary.”
There was a hesitation in her voice when she confessed her secret. It was something she stole from her sisters, too, while she stalked them to Hogsmeade, but she cut that point out anyway.
Then she put her hand in her pocket and picked something out, showing a plain ring in her hand.
“It’s uh…It’s an invisible ring.”
She tried to prove it to Rose by wearing it.
Poof!
She disappeared.

When Skylar thanked Rose she avoided looking at her. Rose thought she might have got touched by her words. She sadly smiled while thinking Skylar might have really felt lonely for a long time to be that touched about such words. Of course Rose meant it and it was full of kindness and sincerity but she hasn't imagined it would have this effect. Then she hoped for Skylar not to feel loneliness anymore as she must have before. She wanted to be her true friend and here for her.
When Skylar told Rose she wanted to explore the world it was indeed thrilling. Surely deeply Rose too might have wanted to discover new places. But to Skylar it seemed really a goal she wanted to explore here.
"I think deep down we all want to discover and explore the world." Rose said softly.
"Everyone has its own pace to do so. I guess me too I want to explore and discover new places." Rose added while looking up at the sky.
"Then I will change my answer. I wish I could go up there someday." she said her eyes sparkling towards the night sky.
As for Skylar it was the Forbidden Forest she wanted to explore first which to Rose didn't seem that surprising. Since it's forbidden for 1st year and it's called the forbidden forest the curiosity about it is increased as anyone would want to explore it and know why is it called the forbidden forest.
"The forbidden forest..." repeated Rose.
"It makes sense. We tend to be attracted by what seems to be unreachable or prohibited to discover its deepest secret and why it does have to be banned. So I totally get you!"
"Maybe I too would want to go there. I'm quite curious about it as well. Though a bit scared." she said while chuckling at the end.
It's true Rose was a bit scared not she wasn't brave but she would need some support and people to go there. Not alone. But she doubted Skylar was thinking of going here alone, or was she?

Then Skylar said she found something extraordinary there and took out of her pocket a ring. Actually an invisible ring as she explained to Rose.
"An invisible ring?" said Rose full of curiosity and in awe.
She had just finished talking that Skylar put on the ring and disappear in front of Rose's eyes.
This girl is full of surprise. Thought Rose while smiling.
"That's so cool!! Don't try using it to sneak out." Rose said while laughing. She had no idea if Skylar had moved or not but she kept laughing.

Looking at Rose while she was invisible, Skylar moved behind her. She couldn’t help but laugh, seeing Rose had no idea where she was. Then she took off her invisible ring.
“Ta da!”
The air was full of light giggles, and the bond of the two people had form. Skylar continued smiling.
“I don’t use it to go to the forest. I mean…not yet.”
She put the ring back in her pocket and moved next to Rose, sitting beside her again.
“I think going to the Forbidden Forest must use something more extraordinary than this.”
Skylar sighed as she expressed her thoughts.
“I’m not sure how long I can be invisible, so it would be best to try somewhere else that is not too far from the dorm.”
Suddenly, something popped up in her mind. She glanced toward Rose with her eye sparkling.
“That’s it! Maybe I should try in the library, at the restriction zone.”
It seemed there was a little concern she felt from Rose, so she paused a bit. She wasn’t sure if her bad enthusiasm was too much.
“I…I’m not intending to find a way to break the rules or anything. I just want to try new things and explore.”
She looked the other way as she talked. Skylar didn’t want her friend to see how excited she was and think of her as a bad influence.

Skylar reappeared suddenly behind Rose who turned away towards her while laughing.
Then Skylar told Rose she wasn't going to use it to go to the Forbidden Forest at least not yet because it needed something more extraordinary and she didn't know how long she could be invisible. She came up with the idea of using it in the restricted zone in the library.
Rose was in deep thoughts of what Skylar had just said.
"Hmm...I don't think there is a time limit of the invisibility as long as you wear the ring." she said thoughtfully.
"However I understand your concern about it especially if you're in the Forbidden Forest. So using it elsewhere before or just elsewhere if you want something else for the Forbidden Forest might be better. That is true the restriction zone should be the right place to better try it out." Rose was even surprising herself of what she had just said.
Not that she was encouraging Skylar to break the rules since Skylar mentioned she didn't want neither rather she just wanted to find ways to explore which Rose was understanding. Skylar was excited and seemed impatient about it. Since Rose was considering Skylar as a friend she didn't want to be a killjoy or prevent her doing what she wanted to. Instead she would support her even though that would not be the things Rose would do -for some reasons-.
Yet Rose was admiring Skylar for her boldness and maybe was a bit envying her. If Rose were a bit more reckless and less overthinking everything she might want doing it. Or maybe deep down she wanted as well. For sure she found it thrilling.
Was Skylar the friend that could help her achieve that?
Although if her brother were to find out and telling it to their parents she would be badly scolded.
"Hahaha do not worry. I'm not thinking you want to break the rules even if you probably will." Rose said while chuckling but without any tone of reproach to Skylar for wanting to doing that.
"I wouldn't be the kind of person to dare doing this, maybe that's also why I am in Ravenclaw, but if my friend were to want it of course I would support him or her. So goes the same to you." Rose gave a gentle smile to Skylar before pursuing.
"Doesn't mean I especially approve or disapprove but I admire you for being brave enough to try it out." She finally added while looking up at the sky again.
She wanted Skylar to know she wasn't trying to prevent her doing that or judging her for it. Not at all.
Everyone has its own wishes and as long as it doesn't harm anyone or it is not with the purpose to do so, anyone should be able to fulfill their desire. That was Rose's thought either she was wrong or right.

Skylar listened to all the words Rose had said intently. She now sees what kind of person the girl is. Rose never judged her before or after they met, also supported her even though she knew it was wrong.
How can I never notice this kind-hearted person in class? She said curiously in her mind.
“Such a shame.” She sighed, then realized Rose could hear the murmuring.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean you. I just talk to myself.” She waved her hand and giggled a little as it could help to fade her embarrassment. Then, there was a brief silence in the air.
“Actually…” Skylar paused while she looked at the lake.
“I can lend you my ring if you'd like to try it. I don’t mind.”
She glared toward Rose again as if she knew the girl’s thought.
“Or maybe someday you have enough courage and want to use it to achieve something. I’m happy to help without any question. I promise.”
She smiled at Rose genuinely. Skylar was a determined and committed person, so she wasn’t going to promise anything she couldn’t do. If Rose considered her a friend and gave her support, she would do the same to every kind of help, good and bad.
“Or if you need my help in class, you can also reach out to me. I’m not good at charm, but I’ve been practicing.”
Skylar thought of an easy spell that might interest her friend.
“like…”
She looked around before she grabbed her wand tightly and said.
“Bullarum Immortalem”
The clear bubble string popped out of her wand following her movement. She drew them in the air and expressed her amusement through her laugh.

Rose heard Skylar murmuring something about being a shame. She knew it wasn't addressed to her but wondered what it could have been. However since Skylar brushed it off by saying she was talking to herself Rose didn't want to ask.
After a silence Skylar said something that surprised Rose even more than everything before. She was offering her to lend her her ring if she needed it someday.
Rose widened her eyes not expecting this proposition. Actually she has never thought what she could do with an invisibility ring. First she didn't have enough courage to do something she wouldn't be supposed to and secondly even if Skylar were the one to suggest she would feel a bit embarrassed to accept. There were not many reasons but it was often hard for Rose to accept things from people when it wasn't a gift.
Before answering Rose let out a small embarrassed laugh.
"That's really nice of you. Thank you I might think about it." she simply said with a smile having actually no idea about it. She was not expecting at all this suggestion from Skylar so she was a bit caught off guard. But she truly appreciated Skylar proposal.
She also offered help for classes though she said she wasn't good at charm. Rose chuckled.
As for her she wasn't bad but she couldn't say she was good either. She was going to thank Skylar when she showed Rose one of the spell she has been practicing. Many clear bubbles appeared following Skylar wand's movement. Rose was in awe; she couldn't do that.
"That's amazing!!" she said laughing along with Skylar.
"Where did you learn that spell?" she asked curiously still half laughing.
"That's really cool to do and it looks so pretty!! Especially in the night they are sparkling!!" Rose added truly in awe.
She is amazing thought Rose.

Skylar was enjoying herself while Rose looked amazed.
“I learn it from the History class,” She lowered her wand as she added. “I don’t know if it’s related to the class because I slept halfway through the lesson.” She said while chuckling.
“Before I realized the theory part was over, everyone was already practicing the spell.”
She looked at her wand and tried to stop the bubbles.
“It’s nothing complicated, actually. No wand movement. You just have to pronounce it right.”
After the bubbles stopped, she shook off her wand a bit. Then she gave Rose a demonstration again.
“BUL-la-rum im-MOR-ta-lem”
She carefully spelled the incantation with a clear voice, hoping Rose could catch her. She looked at the girl with adoration.
“You wanna try it out?”
Skylar wasn’t sure if this was called breaking a school rule, but it was just a harmless spell and seemed more like practicing. So, she wanted Rose to enjoy the moment with her.
However, after all the good times had passed by, Skylar was surprised by how different she was from before. She wasn’t this delightful, not at all. She wasn’t the kind who led the talk or teased people.
Something had changed within her, but she wasn’t sure yet what it was. The only thing she was certain of was how much she really liked herself being this way.

Rose was really amazed by Skylar and the spell she has just done. She was enjoying being here with Skylar laughing and she was feeling less anxious and more relieved. Actually it has been a time she hasn't been feeling this way. And she was sure she had made a new friend. It wasn't her things to make new friends rather it was a struggle but it seemed she had done it and it didn't seem to have been as hard as she thought.
She was often afraid people might find her too quiet and not funny nor interesting enough to talk to. However Skylar was able to make her comfortable quickly and easily so she didn't remain quiet too long or too much. At least she thought. Nevertheless Skylar didn't seem to have thought this to have kept talking to her.
As Skylar asked Rose if she wanted to try it she repeated the incantation clearer for Rose to catch it. Obviously she wanted to. She didn't know if it were breaking rules but the use of magic inside and around the castle wasn't prohibited as far as she knew.
Rose's eyes sparkled as she took her wand out of her robe. She wasn't sure it was going to work on the first attempt but if not she would try out again. Nevertheless there were no wand movements just pronouncing well the incantation and Skylar had repeated it for her which she may have caught up well.
