The third year was not quite sure what to do with the day. School was not quite over yet and when he looked around the Great Hall, Ruka was nowhere to be seen. Alan was not quite sure why the other boy would not go to the Great Hall, but Alan was quite convinced that he was at least getting some food from the Kitchens. Or had a house elf bring him some treats or snacks to get through the day. He also has not seen him quite often enough as they neither shared dorm nor classes, since they were in two different years.
Not having seen the second year or anyone else of importance at the table, had lead to the third year skipping lunch as well. At least he grabbed an apple and a tangerine from a fruit bowl he saw placed on the table, before leaving the hall and finding a nice place to spend some time. After all he could not see anyone else that he knew enough, having their lunch break in the Great Hall. Maybe that was because it had taken Alan too much time to actually get to the dining area, as he found himself distracted by another issue. So chances were high that a couple of students already had finished their lunch. But that did not change the fact, that Alan could not see anyone around. So he might as well just stay away and eat his so called lunch in peace; a lunch that consisted of an apple and a tangerine.
He was quite sure that he would be fine outside, in the Courtyard, even though he only once had actually spend time there before. But when he did, he quite like the location, which is why he decided to go here again. He was not the only person skipping lunch as it seemed, as he sat down on a bench.

The brunette nestled into her spot against the base of the fountain. Her belongings sat in a pile next to her, with a stack of books that looked ready to fall if the wind blew to hard. The female was not doing anything really, her sight set to the sky. She held a simple sketchbook in her lap, though the page was blank and her writing tool no where to be seen. The clouds are rather interesting today... What stories will I see today? the girl wondered. Brionna had a game with the sky, she'd watch for shapes of interest, then create an elaborate adventure, often ending in a peculiar ending.
The girl knew it was lunch time, yet couldn't bring herself to visit the social area. She had been on her way, honestly, but after seeing the sheer size of the crowd, she decided it better to go to the calming spot in the Courtyard she found earlier in the week. When she arrived and no one was there she sighed in relief and found herself a nook in the fountain to leave against, and set up her belongings as a station of sorts for her entertainment.
Brionna knew she ought to get used to the Great Hall, but she had yet to find someone to enjoy it with, which meant she would be avoiding it for a while. She also feared she may of insulted a Hufflepuff earlier when she corrected them on a muggle fact. Growing up in a muggle wizard family mix, Brionna felt she knew the lifestyle fairly well. Though when she responded to the fellow first year, her response came blunt, and short. Brionna feared she offended the girl, and intended on avoiding it all together for the time being
All she cared about at that moment was having her peaceful thinking time. The first year was so caught up in her own world, she neglected to notice the new arrival, even as the upperclassman sat on the bench right in front of her.

OOC: This writing isn't my best. I'm very sorry.
Wren was not hungry.
This, for her, was a rare occasion. She usually scarfed down plates of food, but today was not a day like any other. She had woken up early and had just not felt good. Yes, she had gone to class and had felt better afterward but by the time lunch rolled around she just hadn't had much of an appetite.
So, as a result, she decided to go sit outside in the courtyards, where she would get some fresh air and a little bit of comfort away from the bustle of school.
The courtyards she decided were a good choice so she walked out of the Great hall and shortly after arrived at her destination. Upon her arrival, she saw two students already sitting down around a bench. She decided today was a good day to meet new people.
She walked over to them and introduced herself.
"Hey! The name's Wren. What your all's??" She asked. Wren liked asking questions right back so that it would spark a bit of conversation, that would keep social activity open but what she had learned was if the person only responded with a one or two-word answer they didn't want to talk. She usually left it alone, but on some rare occasions, she pushed people. Meaning it happened a lot. Wren wasn't really the type of person to leave things alone, which made people mad but she didn't really mind.

Brionna looked down from the clouds startled. It was only then she noticed that two people had joined her in the Courtyard. The fact alone that other people had joined and she only just noticed made her slightly panicked. Did she miss something? Did she know these two? Were they also there avoiding the Great Hall? Why- The girl's thoughts were cut short as she heard the female speak.
"Hey! The name's Wren. What your all's??" she asked. Brionna looked at the girl. She noticed the other person was a male, who looked to be older than the girl and herself. The brunette was quick to note the positions of the others as well- the boy was sitting and the girl was standing. From her spot on the ground, next to the base of the fountain, the boy on the bench was a couple feet away, and the girl- Wren, Brionna reminded herself- was at a point between the two.
The recognition of Wren's introduction, and the question following finally registered in Brionna's mind. Her face and ears quickly taking on a pink-ish hue at the thought of forgetting to respond as she jumped up. Her blank notebook and stack of books was sent tumbling softly next to her, but the Ravenclaw paid no heed to the items. Instead taking a hesitant step towards Wren, trying to say her introduction in her head, least she jumble the words when they came from her lips.
"Good evening Wren, my name is Brionna Wolf..." Brionna's voice started strong, but dwindled to a mere whisper as she introduced herself- her mind taking over before the sentence completed itself. The Ravenclaw had read somewhere that when responding to an introduction, it was best to restate the persons name to engage them better in conversation. But, was that too formal for an introduction? Wren had only said her first name, but Brionna was so used to saying her full name, she had forgotten this was a friendly introduction among peers.
She shrugged it off, trying to suppress her nerves and willing the ever present flush on her face to fade. The brunette had not had a single pleasant conversation yet- but saw the two as an opportunity to come out of her nervous shell and get to know her peers.

The third year looked up from the ground, when he was suddenly spoken to and looked around to find the source of the voice. It belonged to someone who introduced herself as Wren and Alan could not say he remembered seeing her before. Before he could answer her, a voce chirped from right next to him, which startled the Gryffindor a bit as he had not expected someone else sitting down beside him. The girl next to him wished a good evening, which confused Alan. But a gaze towards the still bright sky nullified his concerns that he forgot to keep track of time again.
"I'm Alan-", he began, smiling at the two girls with a hint of nervosity, "It's a pleasure to meet the two of you~" Alan was not a great talker, but that did not mean, that he disliked meeting new people. He quite liked it to be fair, as it was always nice getting to know more people and gathering friends and acquaintances along his journey. Some staid and some left, but they all could count on Alan to support them as best as he could. He was quite sure that both girls must be in a year below his, as they seemed quite young and he has met neither in his own classes.

The girl had introduced herself as Brionna Wolf.
"What an interesting name, I wonder if there's a story behind it." Wren thought.
"Is there a story behind that name, Brionna? Don’t get me wrong I think it's really pretty but it's just not a name I've ever heard before. Especially with Wolf as the last name."
The boy had introduced himself as Alan then cut off suddenly which was odd but Wren decided to think nothing of it. He was obviously older than her and she thought he might have been a second or third year. She didn’t see many fourth through seventh years, because they were always so busy.
Wren looked around and saw they were the only ones out here during lunch. She quickly sat down beside Alan, not having any desire to stand up anymore.
To Wren Alan was evidently an introvert. He didn't really seem like he enjoyed talking very much but he didn’t seem to dislike it. After sitting she crossed her legs and asked a question.
"So, what are your years? Mine's First"

Brionna Wolf was having a conversation, with two people she had just met.
Man was that a sight.
Brionna, was still standing awkwardly as the older boy, Alan, introduced himself. Realizing this, she glanced at her scattered items, quickly bending to pick up the muggle pencils she brought and used on personal drawings, and the notebook that was no longer on a blank page, instead on that of an old drawing. Picking the items up, she placed them in her bag as she sat back down, though this time on the bench with the others.
Wren asked Brionna about her name and Brionna didn't really know how to explain, seeing as no one ever actually ask, they just comment on the strangeness. "Well, m-my mom picked Brionna because she liked to spell it how she pronounced it. While my last name is actually from my adoptive dad. I don't quite remember my last name before that, but-um- yeah. It's an odd mix." Brionna flashed them a small smile, in hopes of calming her nerves.
Wren asked the two of them what year they were in, and she responded first. "I'm in my first year as well." She turned to Alan, tilting her head slightly, a habit of hers when listening or trying to guess something, in this case, Alan's grade. She was guessing somewhere between 3rd and 4th year, only because she never saw him much in the hallways and such.

The third year has often be confused to be a younger student or a grade below the one he actually was; in some cases two grades below. He smiled nervously at the two girls, who began talking about their names and such, making Alan wonder how he could bring up a more interesting topic. Wren seemed to think alike and asked them for their years, which in his opinion was already some betterment in topic. He waited patiently for Brionna to respond at first, before swallowing his nervousness and gifting them with a genuine smile.
"I'm a third year, so if the t-two of you have any questions regarding the school or the curriculum... d-don't shy away from asking me", he offered the two of them, rubbing the back of his neck with his palm as he gave them a lopsided smile. He was always there to help younger students, as he knew how confusing the castle had been to him, when he was younger. He had gotten lost in the hallways many times and the moving stair cases did not helped his confusion to find his way either, they made it worse. Rarely did he find where he had to go at first place, but now he knew the castle, having explored it multiple times. On top of that he had his map, that helped him around the castle and helped him to avoid professors while he was exploring it, so that he would not raise any suspicions.

From what Wren could gather, Alan was a shy kid.
For one, he stuttered a bit when talking, and he really didn't say much. Brionna on the other wasn't as talkative as herself but she talked just enough to where it didn't seem like she was over-talking.
Wren liked these two. They were overall pretty nice, and didn't get all up her business. Wren would probably annoy them with her over excessive talking but she hoped they wouldn't hate her for who she was. She responded to Alan's comment about asking him for knowledge.
"Thanks Alan! I appreciate the offer! I will definitely have questions in the future but at the moment I cannot think of anything to ask."
After Brionna had explained the origin of her name, Wren obviously had to explain her name.
"My name originated after the bird Wren. When I was born, I cried so much and would not stop except to take a breath here and there, so my parent just had to name me after a bird that was the same way. Oh, and they also just really liked it"
Wren sensed that the topic of names were getting a bit boring and dreary so she changed the subject once again.
"Ok, so, if you could do anything or go anywhere for one whole day, where would you go or what would you do?"

Brionna perked up at Alan’s offer of knowledge from an upperclassman. Though she had originally guessed him to be around 3rd or fourth year, it was still slightly shocking, as he could easily pass for a second, or even first year! As she was ever curious about the school, she made a mental note to make a list of possible questions to ask him later, whether in person or over owl was to be decided in the future. Remembering her manners, Brionna released a quiet, "Thank you," in appreciation and smiled at the elder boy happily. Brionna appreciated Alan’s calm and seemingly shy nature. She liked that he seemed more on the quiet side like herself. While Brionna enjoyed surrounding herself with talkative people, she treasured her quiet peers in a different way. Sometimes, a quite reassuring presence was all one needed to be.
Wren, who seemed to be the driving force of the conversation, and which Brionna was thankful for, went on to explain her own name. Brionna thought it was an adorable way to be dubbed a name, and released a small laugh at Wren’s summary of her parents also just really liking the name. As far as Brionna could tell, Wren was a very nice person to be around. She was talkative, which Brionna found both admirable and fascinating. Personally she much preferred to listen to others ramble as she found people's thought processes fascinating. Brionna was so often stuck in her own mind, she liked to escape into others.
Pulled from her thoughts before they consumed her, Wren asked a rather odd, but interesting, question. Anything? Where or what? A multitude of possible answers flashed in the brunette's mind, quickly dismissing half of them right off the bat. She wanted to be completely truthful, but she did not want to say anything weird to scare off the other students. Hm, what would she do? Would she go somewhere? After thinking for what felt to be a couple minutes, but was really a few seconds, Brionna came to her conclusion. She decided on an action for a day rather than a place for a day. To go somewhere, theoretically is possible with the right means, but in retrospect, so is nearly anything you could ever wish to do.
“P-personally…” Brionna internally screeched as the stutter escaped and tried to compose herself. “I think I would enjoy a day of exploring the wizarding world in general. I’m still kind of new to all of this, but I just wish to know more. I want to explore it all, Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic, Hogsmeg, wizarding communities, everything. Preferably with some good friends. I want to leave no rock unturned, and no question unanswered,” Brionna smiled brightly at the other two. The mere thought of exploring the unknown gave her both unease and an overwhelming sense of excitement. On one hand, she knew she was kind of a wimp in the face of the unknown, but she wanted to learn so she wouldn’t have so much to fear. If she knew more, she could better protect the ones she cared about, which was her deepest desire.
After her answer she sheepishly ducked her head and awaited their own answers. Probably much better than her own, and less peculiar. One chance to do anything- and she wants to explore for the purpose of learning? Not a very interesting answer, but the one she will stand by.
