Fire jolted awake from his otherworldly thoughts, daydreams if you will, as a books slammed shut and chairs screeched against the floors in agonizing screams, painful enough to make your ears bleed. It didn't help at all that the boy had very sensitive hearing, so he was easily irritated by loud abrupt or high frequency noises, but also on the other hand alot of things irritated Fire. But his extreme hearing, it was what he hated to admit was his one weakness as well as one of his strengths. Probably one of the reasons why he had come to dislike the boy he had met, @Aodhan Shaw. His voice was annoying just as bad as steal nails dragging across a chalkboard, and the worst part it was the type of voice that would sneak up and get stuck in your head like a little devil on your shoulder. Jesus Christ, he hated that voice, if it wasn't for the atrocious sound that left that kid's lips every time he uttered a syllable, Fire might admit that the guy was pretty funny and hey, might be a possible ally. But that noise made him, unfortunately as fate would have it, Aodhan was a foe in his current peripheral vision. It wasn't really his fault, maybe one day he would get used to the squawks of the Gryffindor, but as of present their was no way for that path as of yet. Yet being the key. As Fire grabbed his belongings after the assault to his sanity, he smacked the side of his head, as if that would rid him of the ringing and echoing that plagued him. As if the ear worm was not just a clever metaphor but a physical thing, and that that if he applied enough force he could somehow make it go flying out of his head like an overexaggerated Sunday morning cartoon. What a conundrum. When the pain had finally subsided, Fire found himself huffing in boredom, that was his last class of the day and he swore he couldn't remember half of them due to the nature of the content, since it was early in the semester the courses had been mostly introductory. AKA boring. Fire rubbed his hand across his head, feeling his hair, what was left of hit anyway, it felt like the little prominent bristles on a cactus, prickly and sharp. He had gotten another hair cut, leaving his once longer red hair, which had already been short in it's own right, to a shorter red buzz. With the help of his friend Jiamu @Meiyu Xiang younger brother of course. Fire decided that now was the perfect time to cure his boredom, he just needed someone to play doctor, a target of victim if you will, to ease the symptoms of such a travesty as this. What better way then to stalk around the dungeons? Wasn't that were all the serious edgy Slytherins were, AKA a boredom freedom inducing playground, it was kind of funny to mess with them. Fire was picking out his subject of entertainment more carefully, especially with the regret of coming across that one Gryffindor... Shivers of agony. That's when he saw the perfect candidate, a slightly tanned boy, with the signature emerald forest green palette that signified the snakes of Hogwarts, dirty golden hair, and melancholic blue eyes, he had a good build, might be an athletic type perhaps? Would take one to know one, eh? Even if he didn't dabble in sports, for sure he could be easily convinced. The boy to Fire looked like the personification of... Broccoli, if that made any sense at all? He had the earthy vibe about him, but also like he... could be dislikable with that resting grumpy face of his. Fire then made his move on the broccoli, already knowing the perfect antidote to the venom of his boredom. "Hey Goldilocks," Fire said gesturing towards the boy, leaning against the wall nearest to them. "Where's the three bears?" He feigned seriousness gazing about the room, as if searching for the referenced beloved fairytale creatures, before giving a non-chalant shrug of his shoulders, fighting the urge to smile, yet the very corner of his lip twitched just a bit. Also upon finally standing next to him, the boy had noticed how the other was pretty tall... That didn't intimidate him at all though, or so he told himself. "So Goldilocks," Fire started, as if articulating a master plan. "Wanna arm wrestle? Winner gets a galleon... Unless you're feeling strong enough to bet more?" He could totally take this guy right? Easy-peasy, he had won every arm wrestle competition at his old school why would this be any different? Also really he just wanted an easy couple bucks, he had no shame in admitting that, or maybe he did, we'll never really know! "You have three seconds before the offer is gone... 3... 2..." He said as if he had better things to do with his time, which we all know was a lie. He acted as if this was a grand once in the life opportunity for him and not for himself, but let alone despite his ignorance, what he said was right, time was ticking. |

"Actually forget the goldilocks thing, I thought it would sound cool but now I got second hand embarrassment," He says scrunching from his given cringeworthy nickname for the assumed Slytherin, shivering slightly. The other stopped in his tracks, looking around in a way that somewhat reminded Fire of a fish gulping for air, "Are you talking to me?" Fire sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose I guess this kid isn't the brightest huh? Once the boy got over himself, he then looked back up at the other. "Yeah, I'm talking to you, I'm looking right at you aren't I?" Fire drawled, scratching the back of his neck as if already bored of this conversation exchange itself. Fire started to count down, his boredom growing with each passing number that left uttered from his lips, but honestly the nearly bald-headed kid was taken slightly aback when the golden haired boy... Accepted? Well he specifically said sure, but that's all the good-to-go approval from the other party that he needed, despite his eyebrows furrowing in somewhat contest. He didn't care. Fire didn't hesitate to throw an arm around the taller one's shoulders, pulling him along to a more empty, and less student infested area, to give them more room for their little 'friendly' competition. Fire found the nearest secluded classroom, perfect so now they had somewhere to actually arm wrestle, the boy released the other from his grip, pulling the desks and chairs, as if setting up the perfect arena for their epic clash of battles. The short haired Hufflepuff threw his legs over the side of the chair, so that his stomach was pressing into the back of the seat, or more simply stated he was sitting backward. Fire scooted forward gesturing for the other to take a the seat across from him, the boy then rested his elbow on the cool hardwood surface of the school's desks, readjusting himself to comfortably rest before pausing for a second a small realization coming over him. "Wait, left or right hand?" Fire asked simply, it seemed his cockiness that he originally put on to display during their initial meeting had subsided, or put off to the side, his expression rather just plain and casual. Fire as he waited for the other to position himself, dug through his pockets looking for anything before pulling out a single galleon and slapping the metal onto the surface of the table. "Whenever you're ready, Broccolini," Fire said with a dead panned face, his stoic face contrasting his words. Any name was better than Goldilocks in Fire's opinion, and not to mention the boy seemed to be the reincarnate of Broccoli with the earthy green vibes, or maybe a golden yukon potato? He squinted his eyes at the thought, before speaking them out loud tilting his head. "Or is Mr Potato better?" He paused as if waiting for a response before continuing. "My name's Fire by the way," Fire huffed as if he was a grumpy old man who had said this over one to many times in his life, as if even formalities was too much energy despite offering to arm wrestle. "Now let's get to business, on the count of three..." |
