They took it better than he had been expecting. Both of them were clearly overjoyed, and even though Griffith fully intended to use the entire school as a shield to save himself, should the need arise, he also felt good knowing that the contract he signed was being completed in full. The students were learning, he was igniting fires that would illuminate the future of magizoology. If they survived long enough, anyway. And he really hoped they did, but from what Griffith knew, there were enough humans to take the places of those that perished. Some magical creatures, on the other hand, would soon cease to exist. It was a calculated risk.

"No, all of you were fine. It's my job to teach, and yours to learn. Seems to me we both did a rather fine job of that just now."

He reached out a hand for the niffler that the Vanes boy was carrying

"Sounds like your friends are all heading up. Better go with them"

Digging his hand deep into one of his cavernous coat pockets, griffith pulled out a few little index cards. On the fronts were little pencil sketches of nifflers, each done in a different position. On the back were little empty bullet points.

"You can start learning yourself, if you'd like. Just write down what you noticed, what stuck out to you. Feel free to give one to your friends as well. Creature Cards are a useful tool to have.

“If this is a complaint would you mind sending it with an owl? It's easier to ignore."

Alan stared up at the professor in awe. His words sounded so smart and Alan was not even quite sure, if he understood them correctly, but perhaps he did just understand enough of what the professor actually meant. As far as Alan was concerned, the professor gave him a compliment for learning well and Alan was quite proud to receive such a compliment. He did feel like he learned quite a lot this day. He now knew that Niffler felt so much more fluffy than he expected their fur to feel like and he also learned that they were light enough to comfortably be carried around by even someone as small and young as himself.

With a broad grin, he handed the Niffler back to the professor. But not until after he cradled the creature for a bit more, watching as it contentedly laid in his arms. "Thank you so much, professor! I learned quite a lot in just those few moments!", the young boy admitted, his eyes sparkling with joy. He took the cards he received, admiring them in their beauty as he held them up. They were perfect and all the Gryffindor could have ever asked for! Not that he had known that before, but in this moment it was, as if it all made suddenly sense and life was right. "These are incredible! Did you draw them, sir?", he asked in a hushed whisper, awestruck as if he had just received a dozen of galleons, just that these cards must be worth so much worth than any amount of galleons could be and he was sure that the girls he came here with agreed. He would have to give some to them!

"Do you perhaps have some of those of a Crup and a Moke as well, professor? It would mean lots! If so could I perhaps have one of each of those?" He glanced over to the girls as they were distancing themselves and he grew nervous about having to still catch up to them, "I will go check on you another time and ask again, professor, gotta dash"

And with that the second year ran to catch up with the girl, handing each of them their card, as he kept two for himself... surely he could make someone happy by giving them one and of course he would keep one of those for just himself.
