Sighing softly, Heather looked up to the sky. Tonight it is full moon, thought the girl, staring at the countless stars that were adorning the sky. With slow movements, she took out her canvas and started sketching. She hadn't thought of what she was sketching, she just let her hand move, the crayon in her hand making small lines on the white sheet of paper. While she was mindlessly drawing, Heather started thinking about her mother. Her birthday is coming up, I should think about a gift for her. Though, she hadn't sent me an owl, and I have been at Hogwarts for some time now! Frowning, the girl let her pencil down, standing up from the floor, where she had been sitting for the past half an hour. Stretching, the girl let out a small huff, only to fall down back on the floor. Instead of sitting up right away, she laid down on the floor, not mind the weird position she was in. Slowly, she closed her eyes, dreaming about a parallel universe where her father wasn't dead, where her mother noticed her, where her sisters didn't hate her- where everything was perfect. Without noticing, Heather almost fell asleep on the floor, when her state was interrupted by an unknown voice calling her. "....-you asleep? Wake up!" Opening her eyes, the girl was met with a sight of a stranger. "Oh, hey!", said Heather, smiling.

Kara was still deeply saddened by the death of her foster sister, Mia. Kara knew that the beautiful night sky had always calmed her and the slow, cool breeze had cooled the burn deep in her heart. She looked out of the window as she was going up the astronomy tower with her violin in her hand and the bow in her other hand. She looked up in the dark but glittering sky and saw a full, bright moon. Kara smiled, she loved to look at the full moon with all it's beauty once a month.
She made it to the top of the tower when she saw a girl with long blonde hair, and her robes showed that the girl was a Ravenclaw. She looked asleep and she didn't want for the girl to freeze out here, for all she had on was her pajama's, some slippers, and her Ravenclaw robes.
Kara walked in front of her and saw a pretty picture that she guessed the girl had drawn, and it was beautiful. It had the starry night sky with a big bright moon, and in the moon was the outline of a man with angel wings, then the outline of what looked like the sleeping girl.
"Hello, are you asleep?" she said softly " Wake up, it's cold out here, we don't want people to freeze to death!"
The girl opened her eyes to reveal eyes that looked as blue as the sea, Kara felt as though she could drown in them.
"Oh, hey!" the girl had said with a warm smile.
"Oh, hello!" she responded with her silky voice "I'm Kara Capricorn."

Looking at the girl, she noticed that she was quite tall, too. Finally, wouldn't feel like a giant next to other people. Standing up, Heather laughed, a little embarrassed. "Oh, hi there! I am Heather, and, it seems like I enjoy falling asleep in weird places!" Staring at the cat-eyed girl, she continued smiling widely."Grazie for waking me up, Kara. By the way, your name is beautiful, are you by chance a Capricorn?" She knew it was weird asking some you've just met what their sign is, but she couldn't help herself. Looking closer at the girl, she noticed she had a violin in one hand and raised her eyebrows. Cora, her old friend, loved to play the violin too...
Trying to stop herself thinking about her past, Heather moved her gaze to Kara's face. Her eyes, which she noticed were like a cat's, had a beautiful brown color, which reminded Heather of chocolate. Though, even if she was good-looking, almost like a doll, Heather noticed that the girl seemed sad, and it looked like she had been crying. Wondering what happened, Heather had to stop herself from asking a thousand questions. Instead, she took her drawing from the floor, and hugging it tightly, she stared at the moon. "It seems like I am not the only one who thought about finding solace in the starry night tonight, aren't I?"

"Oh, Hi there!" the girl said "I am Heather, and , it seems like I enjoy falling asleep in weird places!
Kara watched as Heather looked at her with her large blue eyes.
"Thanks for waking me up, Kara. By the way, your name is beautiful, are you by chance a Capricorn? she asked.
"Yes, I am, and thanks. I always thought people would think I was weird because of my last name." Kara replied softly.
She looked at Heather again. Her gaze went to her violin and she noticed that one of her eyebrows rose and it looked as though she was deep in thought for a few seconds.
She looked as Heather looked at her, and Kara guessed she was studying what she looked like. Kara remembered that when she had first opened her eyes, her sister Mia looked at her and asked if she was a cat because of her eye shape. The memory had always made her laugh, but this time, bringing it up seemed to well up her eyes.
Heather picked up her drawing and held it close. She stared at the moon as her long blonde hair blew in the wind.
"It seems like I am not the only one who thought about finding solace in the starry night sky, am I?
"Yes," Kara said looking up at the moon with her "my sister Mia always said that beauty is something that not pleases only the eyes, but the heart. Mia sadly died last night. I had gotten this scrapbook this morning after I had gotten the letter last night telling me that she had lost her battle with cancer."
She took the large red leather book out of her bag and handed it to Heather. The front picture was her favorite. It was a photo of Kara and Mia in front of a cherry blossom tree in Washington D.C when they had taken a road trip a year before Kara had gotten her letter.
"Mia was the most beautiful girl I ever knew," Kara said pointing to a brown skinned girl beside her in the photo "She had her big brown eyes, and her large, curly black hair. She told me that she was mixed and to explain it to me when I was younger, she said she was born after someone mixed some chocolate and white chocolate in a bowl."
Kara laughed at the memory of Mia. Mia always was so cool to Kara, with her amazing clothes, curly hair that she always seemed to know how to tame, her big brown eyes, and her signature, large, shining smile.
"I miss her so much, but I know that she would want me to move on." Kara said, trying to hold back her tears.
But, with a whimper and a shaky voice, she said "But I'm to weak."
Tears ran down her cheek and she looked back up at the stars. She remembered the song that she and Mia had made when they were younger. Kara started humming the soft tune and took her violin, and started to play the sweet song that had filled her memories with serenity.

Frowning, Heather took the book from Mia's hands, and her eyes fixated on the first picture. What Heather noticed first, though, wasn't how good-looking the girls were, but how happy they seemed being in each other's company. This is how sisters should get along, thought bitterly the blonde. Listening quietly to Kara while she talked about her sister saddened her, though. She understood how it was like to lose someone you deeply cared about, but Kara's situation hit her harder: Heather still had three sisters, whom she loved so much, even though they weren't the closest. She couldn't even think what she would do, what would she feel if she lost Ele, or Charlotte, or worse, Tina...Blinking, the blonde successfully stopped herself from getting too emotional. After Kara finished talking about Mia, Heather got closer to her, and softly, she embraced the Slytherin. Letting her cry in her shoulder, she patted her hair, whispering words of encouragement. "I am truly sorry, about your sister. I know how much it hurts losing a family member, my father died a long time ago, too. And it hurts, a lot! But, bella, look," said Heather, pointing at the sky. "I am sure Mia is there, with the stars. Even though she is not physically here anymore, she will always be with you. And she knows you are strong, you just have to have faith in yourself. Trust me, it will get better, even if now it doesn't seem like that." Sighing softly, the Ravenclaw continued hugging the brunette, hoping that she would comfort her, even just a little bit.

Kara felt Heather wrap her arms around her as she cried softly, muttering "I'm sorry Mia" over and over.
"I am truly sorry, about your sister." Heather said sympathetically "I know how much it hurts losing a family member, my father died a long time ago, too. And it hurts, a lot! But Bella, look, Heather pointed up at the sky at a cluster of twinkling stars. Kara looked up and stared, listening as Heather had tried to calm her.

Kara kept looking at the stars grievously as she felt Heather hug tighter. Kara wrapped her arms around the girl and buried her face in her. She had always thought she was alone without Mia, but it seems Mia had led her to the right people in her life. Lilian was already a great friend, and Heather was so sweet that she felt as though she could melt in Heather's loving warmth.
"I thought I was the only one," she said quietly "but I guess you're never alone, you just need to be lead to the right people."
She looked up at Heather and her big blue eyes had started to calm her, just like she did when she sat on the shore of the Great Lake, watching the small waves calmly flow in and out of the shore.
"I'm so sorry about your father," Kara said "no one should go through that pain."

Smiling softly, Heather shrugged and looked at Kara. "I know, but I still miss him, every day. I guess I have to live on and to try to make things that would have made him proud." The Ravenclaw acted chill, as if she was used to the pain, even though her soul still longed for her father's hug. Thinking about what she did to help herself move on when her father died (because, unlike other people, Heather wasn't comforted by nobody), an idea suddenly popped into her head. Smiling sheepishly, she hoped she would help Kara feel better. Glancing at the girl's violin, she took a joyful tone, changing the subject with newfound confidence. Inhaling, she suddenly spoke. "You know, I do art. Erm..." Trailing off awkwardly, Heather reconsidered her words. What she really meant sounded in her mind like a motivational speech, meant to help Kara, but when the words came out...it wasn't the wisest word choice. Cursing her way of speaking without thinking, the girl quickly apologized. "Uh, what I meant to say, by doing something that lets you express your thoughts without actually speaking, especially when you are feeling down, it is really nice. For example, I like to do ballet...and to draw," said the girl, pointing at her drawing. Glancing at Kara's violin, she continued "I think your violin could help you to let out some sadness. You know, it's not good to hold in everything."

Kara wiped her eyes and held up her violin and stared at it for a little, wondering what she could do. Kara then took a piece of paper and a quill pen from her bag and started writing some music. Kara sat against one of the pillars on the tower and poured her heart and soul into the song. She felt a weight lift off her shoulders and her pen scratched the notes delicately onto the paper.
She felt her pen finally drift off the paper as she saw the notes that were placed there ever so perfectly in her head. Mia would've loved it, Mia loved everything that Kara had ever done for her. She propped it against the pillar and she took her violin out of it's case and then started playing the song she had written.
She felt the bow drift on the strings as the notes played in a perfect tune. The song was pretty and quaint while empowering and emotional, with a sound that could pierce even the hardest of hearts.
As Kara played her violin, the freezing wind no longer bothered her. Instead, she felt a warm, loving presence around her, almost like when she'd snuggle up close to Mia whenever she was scared as a young girl. Kara kept playing, not once feeling cold. She continued, feeling the emotion and warmth around her.

Silently looking at the girl, Heather smiled softly. She had been so hurt before, and she probably still was. But at that moment, she forgot about any pain, being enchanted by the musical notes . She really grieved through her art, and the blonde knew how therapeutic was that. After all, hadn't she used ballet as a way of coping with every hardship from her life?
When she heard the sound of the bow drifting slowly on the strings, Heather felt goosebumps on her arms. Oddio, she is great at this! With wide eyes, she felt herself getting emotional too, and if she hadn't made a promise she was struggling to keep, she would have teared up. Without noticing, she started shifting, until she was balancing on her toes. She let herself float on the sound of music, closing her eyes softly. Sensing that the song was coming to an end, she wanted to end the dance on a simpler note. She would have done one of her favorite positions- the Arabesque, on reflex, is she wouldn't have been woken up from her trance by the pain that suddenly hit her. Losing her balance, the girl almost fell down. Letting out a not so nice Italian word, used by the fishermen who were losing their fish, back in Italy, she hissed in pain. "Uf! Sorry, but I got so much into your song, that I forgot I'm not wearing my pointe shoes!"

Kara finally stopped to hear a THUMP sound behind her. She turned to see Heather pushing herself off the ground.
"Uf! Sorry, but I got so much into your song, that I forgot I'm not wearing my pointe shoes!" Heather said, looking a little embarrassed.
Kara laughed a little, but then stopped herself quickly, not wanting to embarrass Heather further.
"Thanks, I just made that song off the top of my head, and my heart I guess." She said to Heather with her silky voice.
Kara then helped Heather up and placed her paper and pen back into her bag carefully, making sure not to crumple up the music sheet she had made.
Kara packed up her violin and put her bag on her back and her violin across her body with the strap. She looked back at Heather as the wind picked up, almost blowing them off their feet. A chill crept down her spine and she huddled up in her robes, trying to keep in a little body warmth, although it didn't work that well, as the wind still swept up through her robes.
Kara looked around at then at the stars one last time. She yawned and looked back at Heather.
"Well, I'm going to bed. It's freezing out here and I suggest you do the same."
Kara then left with Heather and they both said their goodbyes. Kara then left to her common room and quietly crept into her dorm room. People around her were softly sleeping, with their blankets softly rising and falling to the rhythm of their breath. She inched across the room, making sure to avoid anything that would make noise. She made it to her bed and stared up at the ceiling, hoping to see Heather again one day.
