As Julia entered the great hall, she was blown away by the enchanting surroundings. People laughed, and joked, filling the room with a great atmosphere. The enchanted ceiling, floating candles, and magical plates, seemed enthralling to the young 11 year old. She watched as other students were called up by the deputy headmistress, some went into the great gryffindor, some went into the sly Slytherin, and some went into the honourable Hufflepuff, but Julia? She was most excited for Ravenclaw. Her family had a really long history of Ravenclaws, some said they were descendants of the legendary Rowena Ravenclaw, but Julia didn't believe in such stuff, and even they were, who cares? Julia was anything but a selfish person. She loved helping people and making friends, but she hated stuck-up snobs who bragged about things for no actual reason. Her name was called
"Evans, Julia!"
Julia held her breath, she could feel a hundred eyes on her as she walked up to the small stool.
"Please be Ravenclaw, Please be Ravenclaw," She whispered, to no one in particular. The hat was placed on her head and then... all she could see was black! Slowly, Julia heard a voice in her head, "Hmm... I see, interesting... a loyal person, a very wise one too... Lots of courage I see... Difficult, very difficult..." said the voice
"Ravenclaw, please be Ravenclaw" Julia muttered
"Ravenclaw eh? Well, best have it"
"RAVENCLAW!" shouted the hat, to the whole hall
Julia was thrilled! She was a Ravenclaw! Julia walked towards her house's table, her eyes dancing with joy. As she began eating, she felt like a weight had been lifted of her shoulder, she realized how important being in Ravenclaw was to her. But that was all gone now, with a new sense of hope, she turned to the person next to her, a first year, and started talking, certain that this year was going to be one of the best in her life.
