The Cracker Jinx paid off this time and gave Costanza the lead that she and her team needed. But she knew better than to get comfy. She glanced at the clock and saw that they were only halfway through their allotted time. There was still so many ways that this could go wrong for the badgers.───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

The Ravenclaws needed to find their footing again and this time around, Aislin surely did. She may have missed a chance to make Alina dance, but she was just shy of dead-on while shutting Minnie up. Harsh! She wasn’t even talking smack. Despite the piste being devoid of trash talk though, the hit on Minnie was good enough to win the eagles an advantage in their next bout of spells. Maisie, on the other hand, was still having a tough time trying to blindfold Costanza. The second year couldn’t even produce magic from her wand, resulting in a failed cast. And Nicholas was looking rough as the fire on his robes finally went out, but he found that the extra caution he took while dodging was for naught.
Alina, lucky that no one went after her this time, seized the chance to rip her blindfold off, putting her back into the fight without any impediments. She would join Costanza who was continuing her success streak by nailing Aislin on the shoulder with a Knockback Jinx, and Minnie who tried setting Aislin ablaze again. It was the latter’s moment to get something done before her target twisted her tongue into knots, but her jet of fire went too far left of the eagle, missing her completely.

Dang I got lucky. Alina thinks as she fumbles for the blindfold. I don't really want to get hit. Leaving the blindfold on any longer would likely inhibit her more than anything.
It was the first time in a moment that she wasn't actively fighting off the power of a knockback jinx or a slowness spell, or some other inhibition. Minnie, on the other hand, was not as lucky. Alina winced as the girl was muted. I wish I could help her, but there's nothing I can do.
Starting the round with the lowest stamina, Alina was a bit floored she had made it this far at all.

She could feel Aislin's eyes on her—and she didn't like it. Normally, she had a plan. Avis always could count on her for a plan no matter what the hardship. But on the duelling piste, she was always shorthanded. Always.
So, when Nicholas, clearly in pain, murmured, "This is going... Just like how I expected.." Maisie could only shrug. Because there was only one true answer: "This is how it always goes."
Only this time, she felt the weight of aiding younger years with the knowledge that she couldn't quite—or could she?

The boy felt a knot form in his stomach. Was that truly how it 'always goes'?? Was he expected to be alright after this?
"Oh...great ..." He mumbled, not at all feeling encouraged by his teammates words.
All he could really do was bear with it for a little longer, oh he just wanted to go back to bed at this point.

Costanza sighed in relief when her Knockback Jinx didn't miss. She couldn't explain why, but she was feeling uneasy. There was no reason to though. Her team was doing well. They still had three wands pointed at the opposition. They were in a position to take the win. Yet, there was still a nervous energy thrumming within her. And now Minnie couldn't cast. The best thought that came to her while still reeling from the crackers was that there should be less spells, as in less happening all at once, and she latched onto it with the joint realization that she knew a spell that could do that sort of thing. Mimblewimble was kind of tricky, mostly because she'd only just learned it in the few short weeks of cramming spells she'd had leading up to this, but if she could get it right, it would help.
Minnie tried to set her on fire again, and Aislin tied her tongue into a knot. She might have glared back, since Minnie could not really be complaining with how painlessly this duel had gone for her, but Costanza had hit her with a solid Knockback Jinx and she was a bit busy waiting for the wave of pain to pass, rolling her shoulder experimentally. Her experimental findings: ow. But at least they'd gone for her and not Nicholas, right? That was a good thing? Aislin wasn't as miserable as he looked, anyway.

After staying unscathed throughout the entire duel except by her own hand, Costanza was the primary target for this bout of spells. Aislin aimed a Bogies curse at her, and it struck the badger on the stomach. After a few moments, that uneasiness stemming from anxiety took on a magical form and twisted itself into nausea at the pit of her belly. Maisie, who had been trying to hit Costanza for a while now, finally succeeded in producing a thick fog around the badger, limiting her ability to see much of the piste. The same fog wrapped around Alina too, leaving Minnie as the only Hufflepuff directly in the sights of her opponents.
As for Aislin’s cloud, it was largely forgotten at this point in the duel by Pyxis. All it did over the past few minutes was rumble occasionally, but perhaps some sentience was given to it by its caster, making a goal out of striking all three badgers. Alina and Maisie already had their fill, so the cloud added to Costanza’s misery as a lightning bolt shot down and lit her up. It wasn’t all bad for the badger, though. Just mostly. Her Cracker Jinx missed Maisie and Aislin completely, its center dropping far enough from them that they wouldn’t be subjected to its effects. The same couldn’t be said for Nicholas who had joined Minnie and Alina in not casting. However, what focus he put into dodging couldn’t beat Costanza’s accuracy.
“Stop!” Pyxis called out as he watched Nicholas suffer one too many cracker explosions. The eagle tumbled to the piste as the poppers continued to act up around him. Pyxis waited for a moment to see if he would rouse, and when it was clear he wouldn’t, Pyxis signalled for the lad to be carted off the piste and out of the club room. “Alright, resume.”

Bad. Terrible. Horrible. After smacking herself in the face with her own dancing spell, Costanza had faired quite well during the duel in regards to not being hit harshly. But fate switched up on her as everything happened all at once. That anxious feeling suddenly took a turn for the worse, making her feel to throw up on the piste. And Maisie pulled the fog over her eyes again. She knew the Ravenclaw liked to do that when she was backed into a corner, but something about this fog seemed different from the last two times. It was so thick that Costanza could barely see through it. She hadn't even seen Nicholas go out. And to make matters worse, the lightning came down again and struck her. Somehow the scent of her burnt skin was worse than the pain.
