A quiet corner

Skylar frowned a little bit. Aisling's question made her think back to what she had heard and assumed before.
“Could be…umm,” She said in a lower tone.
“I believe there’s something else in there beyond our knowledge. Maybe a dark magic or a dark wizard hiding from others, or even some ancient artifact that has never be found yet.
She looked straight at Aisling with a seriousness in her eyes and whispered to the girl.
“They said the protective wards. You know, the ones that keep Muggles out and stop people from coming in. It doesn’t cover the entire forest.”
Noticing a curious face from Aisling, Skylar continued to explain more.
“One time, I heard a group of seventh-year students saying that the Forbidden Forest actually extends far beyond Hogwarts’ grounds.
Skylar glanced at the other students who walked past the table, then she came back to the topic.
“So, it doesn’t surprise me at all that Hogwarts magic covers only some part of the forbidden forest.”
Skylar moved her shoulder a bit, her eyes wandering far away.
“That means if we go deeper and out of Hogwarts' protection. We’ll find potentially dangerous magical creatures, people, or mysterious areas beyond the control of teachers or the school itself.”
Skylar turned back to Aisling with a soft smile as she usually did.
“And that is what I think. That’s another reason that it's called the Forbidden Forest.”

A quiet corner
Aisling raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean the wards don't cover the entire forest?" she asked. While she didn't know much about the wizarding world before her first day at Hogwarts, she knew that wizards and witches had a knack for secrecy. That included Hogwarts Castle and its surrounding environment. How the professors, or maybe even the late founders, overlooked that part of their area was beyond her.
Aisling nodded as Skylar explained how she heard about the flaws of the protective charms from the upperclassmen. A chuckle escaped her. "Kinda sounds like the Seventh Years are trying to freak you out," she said, "the upperclassmen love to freak the younger years out." Or so she had heard. Hufflepuff, her house, already seemed to be an exception to this expectation. Then again, what did one expect from the house that focused on loyalty and kindness? Aisling shook her head. "Even if what the older kids are saying has some truth to it," she said, "maybe ... maybe it would be worth it." She paused for a moment. "We could see what your aunt saw," she added, "learn first-hand what she learned; prove that she was onto something all along." Aisling couldn't help but smile at the thought. If it wasn't for her social anxiety with new people, she wouldn't be surprised if she came off as a Gryffindor, or maybe just a very courageous Ravenclaw.

A quiet corner

Skylar expresses a flicker of excitement.
“Worth it… I’m sure it is, but…” She said. Her voice dropped slightly.
“Still… I’ve always wondered what kept my aunt out there for so long. It couldn’t have been only her curiosity.”
She glanced down at the book that she had placed her hand on top of and shook her head a bit.
“Whatever… That doesn’t matter.” She sighed. “It seems that only this book that I found explains in detail about existing magical creatures. Should I look for more?”
She looked at Aisling like she wanted a confirmation from the girl. Then she glanced far away to the Restricted Section zone.
“Or should I look somewhere else...”
It would be great if she had something to help her be invisible. It was impossible to sneak out without any protection.
Skylar felt a big concern from Aisling's eyes sitting opposite her. She gave an awkward little laugh and scratched her head with a nervous hand.
“I know. I know. It’s just that I’m easily tempted by these kinds of things.”
However, the thought of finding a way to go was still in her mind. She’s sure that there must be something helping her get into the Restricted Section area. She just had to take some time to find out what it is.
