| 𝓐s the duel progressed, Violence's admiration for Siobhan grew. The girl was extremely skilled and knew when to cast and what. Her aims were almost perfect. The Rictumsempra she'd cast had been perfect. She observed the girl's movements. Her posture for each spell, the way she held her wand and how tightly she gripped it. Violence paid attention to every minute detail. This would help her when she would partake in duels. She cheered on her, occasionally making small talk with Avina. She was surprised that Prat was doing nothing. And his health was rapidly decreasing. If he didn't do anything soon enough, he'd have to be sent to the Hospital Wing. Maybe it was because of the fact that he was tongue tied, but he could atleast dodge, right? It was better than standing and just taking hits. She shrugged, it wasn't her business. He might have a strategy, or he might just be... well, dumb. It was very apparent to anybody watching that there was something wrong between the two. Nobody stayed this quiet. She watched as Siobhan cast another spell at Prat. This time however, Prat dodged. Violence let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She did a little clap, and announced, "Okay, that was a good cast Siobhan, but someone finally decided dodge. So that's a miss." "Alright, wands up, Keep casting!" A sigh left her mouth before she could control it, "Water is still available." | ||

────────────────────────────────Siobhan huffed as her spell missed her opponent. Who was it that she was duelling?? And why was this second year refusing to tell her? Why was her opponent refusing to say anything. Having quite enough, Siobhan snapped and uncharacteristically raised her voice- choosing not to use her wand for just a second and rather her words.
"Is this to mock me? The blind girl? Can't be bothered to say who it is to protect your dignity in case I win? Siobhan bit with a venom that was not her own. From where it originated she had no clue, but it was something that she could feel growing in her chest. If it was someone who thought she was a joke, then it was apparently supposed to be a funny joke if she lost to this person. No doubt the word would spread and there would be a discussion once again about her place on the team. Duelling was something that granted her a last shred of independence and if this person in front of her was waiting for her to slip up before they viciously responded with their spells then Siobhan had no choice but to remain chained to the piste and upright.
"You can't avoid speaking forever. Siobhan spat as she stepped back and gripped her wand in a stark frustration. The ground under her feet felt sharper despite the softness of the marble. Her face aflame but in annoyance not flustering.

XXXXXPrat dodged Siobhan's spell with a clean, showy flip. Equal parts flourish and instinct, however, the satisfaction died when he'd continued existing in the reality Violence had already outed. Violence. Merlin's favourite troglodyte. Of all the things to do at a duel, why did this underclassman speak with a death wish on their mind and an innate emptiness in her head? Stupid, stupid woman. He'd been doing everything short of Polyjuice to keep himself anonymous, and she'd just announced it to practically the whole club.
The cat was already out the bag, no point remained in pretending anymore.
Sio stepped back, her frustration radiating off her as she threw out another warning. "You can't avoid speaking forever."
Fine, if she wanted a voice, she was about to get one.
"Someone would talk if you'd just shut up for once." The words slipped out only as harsh as he'd intended, sharp like the tip of a blade he only meant to push inside a little.
Nonetheless, he barely winced, but enough to count.
"I mean, sorry, I just needed a way to get to you." He didn't lower his wand, shoulders still as tense as before. "And, maybe you should focus less on the lying part and more on the part where I attempted to talk to you."

| 𝓥iolence missed the Bloodthorn mansion, though it had been barely month had passed from when she'd come to Hogwarts. She missed spending time with Sébastien and her aunt and Uncle. The girl, Cecilia had also been fun enough. The holidays had been interesting. Avina and Damon had somehow not visited much. Her heart dropped but then, things had been better after school started again. They had met in the Astronomy Tower on the first day of school, and things had been... okay-ish. And Avina and her were back to being stuck by each other's sides mostly all the time. Her eyes snapped to the duel happening in front of her. Violence couldn't wait for the time when she could also officially duel. If not for the Ravenclaw team, then atleast in the duelling club as practice. It would be a fun, altbeit painful, way to learn and grow. She would be able to work on her spell-casting abilities and become a decent duellist by the end of the year, hopefully. Violence hoped that would make her father proud. She knew he already was proud of her no matter what, but she knew doing something he excelled in would make him happy and she only wanted to see him happy. Her mother was already very proud of her since she'd gotten an Outstanding in her Potions final for the first year, and Artemis was elated to see her teachings being of use to Violence. She frowned, Violence had just complimented Siobhan and now she missed? Maybe she should just keep her mouth shut. And that was a good thing because Siobhan spoke up. 'Wait, what? Who's mocking who?' What was going on? And then Prat spoke up. 'Wow, people are rude.' Her eyes were about to pop out of her socket. "Maybe you should focus less on the lying part and more on the part where I attempted to talk to you." Arrogant. That was the only word that came to her mind. Why did most guys think this way? As if them doing the bare minimum was more than enough to impress, or whatever Prat was trying to do, a girl. She looked at Avina, eyebrows raised. She knew that outright judging him would be wrong, since she knew neither of them at all, but that sentence was enough to know what kind of a person Prat was. Or atleast, how he was with girls. Still, she shuddered the thought away and triying to maintain her calm, she said, "O-kay, um. Both of you missed. But uh, go ahead. Spells for round 6, please." | ||

────────────────────────────────Siobhan's confidence took a hit and she knew her spell had missed before Violence had stated it. What the hell was he doing here? What was this even for? This had to be an option to mock her now as Prat stood in front of her, having also missed her with a particularly nasty Cracker Jinx. Damn that Divination Professor for teaching everyone this spell. It was difficult to avoid- and if it was to hit her it would deal some real damage to her.
The idea behind it was a cracking pain that spread across the body. Prat wanting to cast that on her? That was... it was just cruel.
"Attempted to talk to me? Since when? Siobhan muttered to herself as she willed herself to remain frustrated with him. Prat was such a jerk and he was talking to her as though she was the one who had hurt him first. He snapped at her. He lost his temper because he had waited and someone saw her for her and not just as a commodity to be seen with at the ball.
He would probbaly only have taken her out of pity- Pureblood ponce dutifully takes blind student to the ball in gesture of goodwill towards wizardkind or something....
Running away from him that night had been awful. She'd never felt so hurt and angry in one go. How was it that this was something everyone went through? Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as the memories of that night threatened to replay themselves involuntarily as though it was exactly what she needed to commence the duel.
If she wasn't so hard-headed and stubborn, she knew that her feet would have told her to walk away from the Piste and leave him to think about how he had treated her once again. Normal people didn't construct elaborate shenanigans such as this to get a word in. All she wanted from him was an "I'm sorry for calling you weak."
And maybe for him to see that she wasn't just some extra waiting to be called into action.

| 𝕿he afternoon was progressively getting worse. With every passing second, Violence and Siobhan were both getting more and more agitated. And Prat probably thought he was too cool to actually do anything in the duel, and the one sentence he had said during the entire duration of the duel had been to piss off the others present in the room. With the way he wasn't casting any spells made it clear that he was only here for Siobhan. And apparently, that was also only to somehow irritate her? Ateast that is what she deduced from what had happened, there seemed to be no other plausible reason. In all honesty, Violence could understand why Siobhan would not want to talk to him. But then again, this was their personal matter. She rolled her eyes, she couldn't wait for the time she could leave the duel and just go back to her dormitory. In her opinion, doing the History Of Magic homework was better than this. She slid down the floor where she was sitting, pulling Avina down with her. Resting her head on Avina's shoulder, she closed her eyes, muttering a quick, "Wake me up when they have casted their spells." But soon she realised that Prat was not going to cast anything for this round either. Sighing, she announced a drowsy, "Siobhan misses. Prat did not cast. Next round." That was all she could manage. She should have probably gotten some information before deciding to moderate a duel between two random people. Well, there was nothing she could do now. It was just a few more rounds, right? Prat looked quite pale and she was sure with a few more perfect hits from Siobhan, he would faint, or atleast be in no state to duel further, not like he was duelling right now anyway. | ||

────────────────────────────────Siobhan grumbled louder as her spell missed once again. How hard was it to cast a spell that was going to hit someone? Not that she wanted to do any true harm to Prat, but she had hoped to maybe singe off his eyebrows or something. Just to spite him and make him look a little stupid. As a way to make him look the way she had felt when their last exchange had chased her off.
Prat chose not to cast. Or maybe he forgot? Maybe he didn't care. Siobhan sighed as she looked towards the direction of Violence's voice. How ironic that a child named for Violence was spectating and moderating a duel between two people who truly wished no violence towards the other?
It was almost pitiful. She felt nothing good about how the duel was commencing. There wasn't anything that she could do to win this fairly. It almost felt as though she was practicing on a training dummy in a classroom.
Would it be better if she didn't cast? If she forfeited? No! What? What crazy idea was that? Prat wanted this duel and if he wasn't going to participate then she was going to kick his butt and show him that it wasn't worth forgetting that she was a fantastic duellist.

| 𝕿t was clear to Violence that the duel was now nearing its end. Prat looked bad, his health was deteriorating and it was very visible. Siobhan looked perfectly fine but it did seem like an unfair win for her. Prat was not giving her any challenge. Siobhan did not actually have anything to fight against. Maybe Prat would pull the 'Oh I gave you an easy win' card which honestly, would be annoying. One could see that Siobhan was a good duellist and Violence was sure that even if she had a worthy opponent, there would be high chances Siobhan would win. Violence admired Siobhan for the way she was not giving up on the duel, though. It was nice to see someone passionate, even if the girl might have only been passionate about proving herself. As if on cue, Siobhan again cast a spell, and again, orange flames shot out of her wand. She followed the path of those as they... hit the dummy standing behind Prat. Violence sighed, but she hoped Siobhan would continue with her spirit and not give up. She had no expectations from the boy, he seemed to be here only to pass his time and was honestly, just annoying Violence. She couldn't say for sure, but there seemed to be signs that Siobhan was annoyed as well. Violence wouldn't wait till the duel got over. She could finally go back to her dormitory and either do homework or sleep. Both much better than this duel. "Continue, continue!" | ||

────────────────────────────────Siobhan sighed as she once again missed her spell and Prat cast nothing. She'd had about enough and it seemed that Violence was beginning to tire of having to moderate such a boring duel. For her, the Gryffindor heritage she had inherited from the moment that hat had touched her head roared inside, demanding that she emerge victorious from the match. However the more rational part of her was beginning to wonder if giving up was part of the plan that Prat had for her.
She put her hands on her hips as she thought to herself about what it was that she could do. Her pride and ego would take too much of a hit to wimp out now, not when she was so close to winning. But to stay any longer wouldn't ensure a worthy win. It would be more of a win by default which was not honorable in any sense of the word. Her foot tapped the ground lightly as she thought about her next move and whether it made sense to continue this farce of a duel at all.
Prat surely had no cares about whether he won or didn't at this point. It seemed plain as day to her. And she was blind!
Siobhan felt guilty towards Violence, that the poor second year had been told to moderate such a boring duel when they no doubt had far better things to do than sit here and watch a blind girl kick the butt of a Slytherin jerk. That could be saved for the normal duelling rotation. Prat could get his butt kicked any day.

Prat's actions or rather the lack of it wasn't without much thought. While the veiled approach to Siobhan had worked in his favour, the boy had no intentions of gravely harming the lion cub that stood across him. Not that he believed he could. Duelling was, among the few endeavours in his life that the boy cherished but did not receive a similar reception from the weavers of fate above.
Much to his dismay, Prat as the duelling captain had managed a better career than the boy who stepped foot on the piste for the viridian. Those were almost too embarrassing to even recall in polite company.
Looking at Sio, Prat could see her confidence or rather, her will to bring him harm shaking, even if with tiny cracks that threatened at her own moral compass. Attacking a harmless opponent was almost cruel, is what some would say. She seemed like someone who'd subscribe to those ideals.
But Prat didn't uphold such values, if you step up to the piste, you should put your life on the line was the quote the boy that gotten drilled into him from years.
Thus when he knew conversation wasn't going to work with her, he resorted to ending this quickly.
Even going do far as to alert how, "I will cast this round."
