"Yeah right, for a lousy galleon? PFFT, that's a joke," Fire scoffed with a gross snort, rubbing his hand over his nose rather aggressively. The changing weather from summer to fall had not been the kindest to Fire's immune system, also not to mention being stuck in a school full of a bunch of disease carriers didn't help much in his case.

"What you chicken?" The other boy said with a sorry excuse for a smirk, that Fire had to fight the urge to burst out laughing about.

"What are we, in first grade?" Fire said shaking his head is disbelief as he jumped off the ledge of the great hallway windows, strutting along as his peer squeezed through the crowd and scrambled to catch back up. If the school had been anything so far, it had been a large ego booster for the red-headed boy, much to the dismay of... well everyone. Fire was what people would call a chameleon, he could perfectly code switch in any situation taking the form of any role he wanted with ease, well... As much as his hot-headed self could do. He had easily integrated himself into the wizarding scene of Hogwarts, despite coming from a muggle based upbringing.

The boy actually somehow by some sort of grace of power, was holding the position of the one and only Hufflepuff house, as a prefect. It was a stretch to say Fire was a bad influence, because in reality he wasn't anything of the sort, he was responsible, did his homework, and was respectful to his authority. BUT, that didn't mean that the kid didn't like to have 'fun' from time to time, and when it came down to it, like his nickname, he didn't mind speaking his mind.

"Aw c'mon Fire, just one conversation, speak backwards!" The boy pleaded dramatically standing in front of Fire to block, and stop him from walking any further.

"A galleon ain't enough, bid higher or get out of the way," Fire said crossing his arms, and his sharp angled eyebrows knitting together, whilst tapping a finger against his elbow impatiently. Sensing the growing annoyance the boy shrunk away slightly to one side of the entrance, that created an exit to the courtyard. "But... That's all I got. What if- What if- I DARE you?"

Fire froze in his place, as he slowly turned his head with piqued interest, one of his eyebrows cocking up as a smile crawled across his thin lips. "Dare?"

"I double DOG dare you."

That's what had brought Fire now to the courtyard, as the Ravenclaw boy and a few more onlookers peaked out behind a tree, way to obvious hiding spot in his opinion, but what could he say he loved the attention. He looked around for a quick easy target, scanning the area before his green eyes landed on small kid, approximately around his age, with ruffled dark brown hair and a face full of freckles. Fire couldn't help but feel a bit smug to himself as he put on a show for his peers as he strode over by where the other seemed to peacefully mind his business.

"Ereht yeh," Fire said loud enough to catch the other's attention, rubbing a hand over his chin and mouth to keep himself from smiling too much, he had to fully commit to the bit. "Thgir gnivah er'ew rehtaew ecin?"

Coming back to Hogwarts felt like the equivalent of a prison sentence.

Summer had been wonderful, practically a dream with all he managed to experience in July. Travelling to another country with friends, witnessing a different culture firsthand, eating addicting foods, and goofing off until the sun kissed the horizon... It was as if the perfect vacation had fallen directly into his lap. Unfortunately, though, it was a dream he couldn't stay in forever.

Come August, he returned home and faced the consequences of his genius dishonest and stupidly reckless actions (words courtesy of his mother, not him). Not only had he been grounded for almost two weeks, but he was forced to do all of the housework, from scrubbing floors to cleaning the bathrooms and doing his family's laundry. An outcome he admittedly calculated before making his escapade to South Korea, but a horrific experience nonetheless. Especially when it came to scrubbing down the toilet.

This pain had been curbed by his visit to the annual school summer camp, where he got to relish in his newfound freedom and win fun little prizes. However, nothing would truly compare to that fateful July.

So yes, now he was back to school—back to jail against his will compared to all he experienced weeks prior.

Beyond suffering in his usual classes—otherwise known as history of magic—along with attending club meetings and quidditch practice, his return had been rather uneventful. The only peculiarity lied in the complete absence of Gekko. Not that they spent much time hanging out to begin with, but to not even spot her during the entrance ceremony, let alone the shared dining hall later on? Odd. A mystery, even, if he let his mind wander as he usually did.

With that in mind, he was stuck wandering Hogwarts in his free time, racking his brain for potential explanations of the sudden disappearance. She could have simply moved away, all without saying a single word... but that was boring. Boring and somewhat irritating to think about, so he quickly changed tracks and conjured up far more enticing ideas, like—

"Ereht yeh. Thgir gnivah er'ew rehtaew ecin?"

What the hell?

Aodhan blinked, suddenly face-to-face with a boy sporting fiery red hair, looking to be roughly his own age if their features were anything to go by. And this stranger, rather than greeting him like a normal human being, was... speaking gibberish. No, that didn't make sense. Why would someone just walk up and speak gibberish? Not even he could understand something so random.

However, a lack of understanding did nothing to stop his curiosity.

"Uh," he started off intelligently, head tilting as he stared down the new face, "Was that English or did you just speak in minecraft enchantment table language?" The more rational part of his mind doubted it, but that would no doubt be impressive to pull off. Especially in such an uncultured institution like Hogwarts, where even cartoons were a foreign concept to some people. In fact... "Actually, please say yes to the second thing. That'll give you at least 500 cool points right off the bat."

Fire was off put by the boy's voice, the brunette opened his mouth to hear things he hadn't expected especially in a place like Hogwarts, where honestly their was a lot of stuck-up wixes who spoke in cursive. This kid seemed like at first glance someone who would be easy to push over, especially look wise but his voice was loud pungent and completely unsavory. But honestly Fire should have not been so taken aback, and furthermore taken in the red robes that symbolize the golden and scarlet lion that categorized him in his according house. When had anyone ever heard of a gentle Gryffindor, despite it being a double G and a clever alliteration it just purely didn't exist. At least not in Fire's mind, so in absolute conclusion he should've known better and paid more attention to the details, but with his nose so stuck up in the cloud, it was understandable that he would've missed such obvious details.

With his hand still over the bottom half of his face, to act as a mask, even with slight force inside him that told him this was a bad idea or that this could end poorly, he carried on even in the face of his maybe public humiliation. Hey, a galleon was a galleon, and you could never break the sacred rule of the Double Dog Dare, there was certain guidelines of course surrounding such a historic contest for those who might abuse it's power. Like you can't just say double dog everything, only for certain situations in particular circumstances. The comment about the Minecraft villager seemed so normal for Fire, considering it was a popular game amongst muggles and that Fire indeed was raised as a muggle, the comment simultaneously intrigued him and flew straight over his head as nothing out of the ordinary.

He smiled behind his hand, clearing his throat to regain his composure, the comment was clever, making Fire pause, think back and wonder if he did indeed sound anything like a 'minecraft enchantment table language'. There was only one way to find out if he really did or not, speak more.

"Edud llet uoy t'nac ,hsilgne nialp lamron gnikaeps m'i," Fire said articulating with a lousy stretch of his arms, not bothering to even sound more precise or clear as he loused on the edge of courtyard's fountain. The cold stone slab smooth and cold against his fingers from the growing Autumn weather approaching them rapidly. "'roivaheb doog' fo tnuocca no loohcs yratnemele ni teg uoy stekcit eht ekil sdnuos ,TFFP stniop looc dnA?"

The boy's dark eyes every once in a while flickering back and forth between the boy he was bothering, and the boy's who were watching with beady eyes who he was seeking approval from, something he would never admit to of course. Why would thee Fire care about some other first years opinions and if they thought he was cool or not? Well... Apparently, yes, yes he did.

"uoY .eriF m'I ,edud uoy teem ot ecin ,yaw eht yB?" The red haired boy asked now digging at the small holes and imperfections of the stone with his fingernails, scratching and jabbing it.

He couldn't keep it up long though, the act being too much for the hufflepuff to bare to long, a laugh slipping out between his lips. As he gave in to it, he waved his hands in dismissal of his antics.

"I'm sorry dude," He said in between quiet chuckles. "Your reaction was too funny, my name's Fire." He said sticking out his hand to shake his, there was a small pause through the introduction. "Do you got any money?"

They kept going. They were still speaking nothing but gibberish.

Seriously, Aodhan had hoped this guy would throw him a bone. Perhaps an actual nod of the head, or some other form of universal, non-verbal communication. But no. He couldn't even receive actual confirmation on whether this was Minecraft related, or actual, pure gibberish.

The youth struggled to withhold a pout, confusedly staring at his new acquaintance as his brain tried logically putting everything together. Okay, maybe... maybe it wasn't an imaginary language, but a real one? After all, wasn't this the same feeling he had in South Korea? Surrounded on all sides by new faces, walking along new streets, flooded with nothing but "gibberish" that was really just a different form of communication?

Gaining a new sense of direction, he smiled, wide and confident as he lifted a finger to point at the stranger's face.

"Pabo!" he exclaimed with unquestionable certainty. No doubt he cracked the code!

But... on second thought... wasn't Korean a bit more... foreign and polished than whatever the hell was going on? For once, he frowned and scrunched his face, retracting his finger in momentary doubt. Oh well. At least he got an excuse to his new, favorite word.

In the midst of his mental gymnastics, though, he was thankfully able to catch something peculiar. Either this Johnny Test wannabe had anxiety, or simply couldn't sit still (much like himself), for the other's gaze kept moving back and forth. To him, to the side, to him, to the side, on and on.

So, Aodhan couldn't help it. He stole a peek at that very same angle, noticing an odd group of students huddled up nearby, watching their interaction with little to no sense of discretion. They had the decency to look away upon catching his own eyes, but come on. They really sucked at this.

Wait. Did that mean this whole thing was a stunt? Were they playing a prank on him? Huh. Not bad, but surely they could have been more creative. He'd give them a five out of ten, with a gold star for effort.

His assumption was proven correct once the Kirishima lookalike spoke even more nonsense, just to soon devolve into a heap of giggles and chortles. It forced an amused huff out of Aodhan who—luckily for these onlookers—knew how to roll with a joke.

"I'm sorry dude. Your reaction was too funny, my name's Fire. Do you got any money?"

Nevermind. He was no longer amused. He was just confused again.

"Bro," he deadpanned, lifting a single brow at the badger, "Sure I know your name, but you don't even know my name. How can you ask me for cash?" There was no way, absolutely no way this kid thought he'd just hand out money to a stranger. Especially for nothing in return. Or maybe it didn't have to be for nothing?

Suddenly, a wide, mischievous smile played out across his lips.

"Actually, you look new. What year are you in? Know any spells yet?" he asked conversationally, walking closer to the other. He only stopped once he was able to swing an arm around the guy's shoulders, bringing him in as if sharing a deadly secret.

"If you really want money..." he began in low murmur, his smile gaining more strength with every passing second, "How about you cast Tarantallegra on the dudes who put you up to this? Sound like a deal?"

The boy let his words linger before humming, realizing that if he really wanted this plan to get carried out, he needed a more enticing offer. Nothing crazy like last year's potion bargaining stunt, but reasonable for someone potentially around his age. Especially someone willing to act foolish who was desperate for pocket change.

"My bad. Unlike your buddies, I value your time and effort. If you do what I'm asking, I'll give you two galleons and an easy way into Hogsmeade. What do you say, Fireball?"

Even if this strang—Fire. Even if Fire refused to do anything—which would be disappointingly lame—Aodhan would simply walk up and do it himself. Regardless of his appreciation for good jokes, he had a nonexistent reputation to maintain. Under no circumstance would he let this slide without consequence.

"Pabo?" Fire was taken aback as if that was the most shocking more terrifying thing he had ever heard in his life, his face filled with utter turmoil and mind-boggling confusion. "Bro I was speaking backwards not Korean? also I'm Taiwanese carrot-face," He looked more annoyed than amused at the other, a sense of almost disappointment hiding behind the shadow of his lashes. Fire was getting the feeling that if his shook the other boy's head he would be able hear a rattling noise like a maraca, fully believing that his brain was as small as a pea and detached.

Now, it was time to test that theory... Fire reached out grabbing the boy's noggin, and shaking it like he was nothing but a bobble-headed figurine, the type of collectable your uncle puts on the dashboard of his aged jeep with a collection of tacky rubber ducks. But to his surprise, no sounds of his brain bouncing off the walls of his skull could be heard, it was worse than he thought, this kid had no brain at all. After doing his little experiment, Fire let go of the Gryffindor's head as if nothing happened, acting as if he hadn't just shook the other's head like a salt shaker.

Fire rolled his eyes with a sigh, why did people have to be difficult, what harm would a couple galleons hurt, he put on a charismatic smile as he slung an arm around the Gryffindor. "C'mon carrot-face, my dude, my buddy, why trouble ourselves with such mediocre formalities? Help a brother out, eh?" He said with a theatrically sad face holding his stomach as if he was some starved child, which he was far from. After a bit he dropped the act, as if suddenly bored with this whole interaction, suddenly to be reeled back in, his interest piqued as the other started a new proposition. The boy had him at money, now that's more how he liked it, he quickly matched the other's smile as he had begun, only for it to drop as quickly as it started.

Fire suddenly looked down-casted, his face turning into a frustrated pout, the thing is he really REALLY wanted that money, but as embarrassing as it was... Fire didn't know any spells as of yet, his fault really for not paying enough in class or practicing enough, he scratched the back of his neck embarrassedly. He looked away from the Gryffindor crossing his arms, his face flushing in anger and embarrassment as the blood rose to cheeks. "I don't know any spells yet." He mumbled barely audible, avoiding eye contact and not wanting to admit to his lack of knowledge. Was this some humiliation ritual? Did this guy get a kick out of his knowledge over younger students?

"What if I kick them instead?" Fire said more loud and pronounced, looking for a compromise, searching the other's face desperately for any hint of subtle agreement. "I don't need stupid spells anyway, when I can use my fists." Fire grumbled kicking at the ground. "Y'know what? Keep your stupid money and your name, Mr Shrieking Shack." Referring to his voice that just rubbed Fire off the wrong way.
