Feeling a pinch of cold on her nose and cheeks a small rise of goosebumps travel up and down Roslyn's arms, the girl bristled but smiled, holding her winter cloak close to her. Even though she was wearing the thickest layers of cashmere and wool her family could afford, the winter draft was frigid and sunk into her bones.

She always loved winter-it was always special for her. It was Roslyn's favorite time of year, mostly due to the wonderful and tantalizing treats her mother made for Christmas and Yule. Roslyn's mouth watered at just the thought of it. She loved the slow, dark and cosy evenings, the crispness that only came when it had freshly snowed.

It was one of the only times her father Alaisdair came back from Romania to be with the family-but she was excited this year- although it was sad her Grandfather, whom she was very close with passed away in the summer, this christmas her father would be staying permanently to help out with the antique jewelry shop and the house. She exhaled to watch her breath cloud up before hurrying in the small hall as a gust of wind blew snow off of the castle roof and almost into her hair dusting it with a touch of snow.

Roslyn buried herself further in her thick fuzzy winter robe and sweaters that felt like a warm hug around her body as she went into the small hall-one of the cosiest places in the castle in her mind-besides the gryfindor common room of course- as she went in the small hall, she saw all the people and almost jumped in surprise.

Of course there was usually some sort of club going on here, but knitting? Usually knitting, sewing or whatever stitching was needed was done by magic, at least at her house. It was a small crowd huddled together with a warm fire illuminating everything with a grand Christmas tree in the corner. The students-and some staff were chatting about what they were doing for Christmas, doing needle work.

Roslyn looked over everything as she walked up to a station and picked out a pair of knitting needles and some yarn, flipping through the many patterns before settling in on a duck she knew her younger brother Francis would love. Attentively, Roslyn grabbed the items she needed, knitting needles, a grey and brown yarn and other materials such as the eyes and stitching needles. She looked around to find a place to sit. .

She smiled softly again and went up to a small group of students. "Hello my name is Roslyn, may I join you please?" She asked, preferring to be with other people than sit alone.
