Final Stand
Clutching her bottles, from which she had determined the correct ones, Leah watched in horror as the scene played out, frozen and unable to help even as a girl screamed and collapsed before them. The nurse looked very tired, and Leah decided she would disturb him no longer.
She summoned all of her courage and stealth and slipped out from behind the nurse to cross the room.
As she walked, she did her best to ignore any chaos around her, thinking only of how her friend would be waiting and she really should have arrived at the common room already. She had offered the choice to go there with her, but eventually left her to fend for herself when the pain kicked in again.
At least with these potions, the pain should ease.
"I hope these are the right ones," she mumbled to herself as she walked closer and closer to the door - and away from this crowd. Sure, they mostly seemed okay, but she was far too exhausted to try and sort things out so that they wouldn't remember her for tonight.
Maybe Jack would no longer think of her as the potato girl. Would that be a blessing or a curse?
She chuckled to herself quietly at the thought and walked through the doorway.

Unless stopped, Leah leaves the thread.

Final Stand
The Slytherin would survive her ordeal. She did not become a victim or a specimen for the nurse as her bones were knitted back together. Healing was sometimes an incredibly painful process, but sometimes to survive one must feel pain. Leah, that unfortunate girl had to see the worst side of medicine. The side where people become unreasonable, dangerous and violent. Victory is often bittersweet, nobody goes into medicine for the purpose of seeing others in pain. It was hard to keep everyone safe, impossible to keep everyone happy.
Leah would depart just as the drama died down. In hand a pair of tonics, perhaps not the ones specifically intended to treat what ailed her friends but they would ameliorate some of ailed them. Most of the potions housed in the cabinet were relatively safe, the dangerous elixirs were left under lock and key. She did not say good bye so he did not bid her farewell, he was tired but he did notice when he heard her footsteps fade away.
After a fitful night's slumber. An evening unmolested by the terrifying forces that left the girl so aggressive, she would awaken healed. Nurse VanCleaf was not at bedside, there was no reason for a bedside vigil. He was in the back, mixing a concoction. While he did not look the part, he was a practiced potioneer. However, almost everything he made had an off appearance to a practiced practitioner. The reds too red and some conventional syrupy tonics appeared more like bottled mist. The labels on only about a third, but in large bold letters in those cases.
“Please tell me threatening him was apart of my nightmare…”
She was awake. The nurse would cock his head to the side like a curious bird to regard her. "Yes, it must have been," he lied. He sounded tired, that being because he was awake most of the night moving and brewing, bottling and naming. "Imaginations can sometimes run wild when you're not feeling well, but you should be feeling much better now," he called across the room. He was not yelling, he did not need to, his voice carried well enough. He was referring to her arm, not her psychological condition. Perhaps it was cruel to some but he saw it as a kindness to let the girl forget the evening before, about the paranoia and the fear. To leave those feelings with her nightmares so that she might get on with her day.

Quinn simply reacted if the nurse had explained Quinn's situation to him then Quinn didn't notice. No at the moment he was now worriedly sitting on the floor next to the bed of where his friend Santario was laying. He just worriedly looked on while softly humming some irish hymn his mother taught him. The pain was dull to him as he simply was humming however the pain was still there.
Quinn didn't hesitate to take her unbroken limb softly in his large hand. To say he looked relieved and still very stressed was an understatement. But he tried to stay strong and somewhat upbeat for his friend. He was so focused on Santario and how she was doing that he forgot the nurse was there. He even forgot the doubts and questions he had about the nurse for the moment. "A-Ay Sanrio 'eelin batter naew?" God his fucking jaw hurt. It felt like someone broke a bat on his face. He actually didn't know what that felt like but dammit he was in pain!
"B-But 'ey look on the bright side. L-Least n-nae one will treat yuh liek a monster." He attempted to laugh at the little self-deprecating humor but that quickly stopped when his body jolted from pain. "A-Ah'll s-stay 'ere till ye 'eel right to leave."

Santario looked over at the nurse if she could when he spoke. “I do hope so. I would have hated to shame myself so badly. Something like that would have been unforgivable.” She looked back over to Quinn before rubbing her eyes again. Had he been here all night watching over her? “My arm is better, yes, thank you… Did you sleep here?” She asked as she tested her arm by moving it and flexing and unflexing her fingers. Everything seemed to be in order, but she frowned at Quinn when he was self-deprecating. “Quinn… You aren’t a monster. Please don’t look at yourself like that. You are one of the kindest people I know, and I am proud to call you my friend!”
It made her sad to think that he would look at himself like that because to her, he was not even close. “Did you get anything for your Jaw?” If he hadn’t, this would be something she pushed for before suggesting that they leave. Santario was fine now, physically. Emotionally and pride wise she was wounded, but she would recover in time. Sometimes you just had to learn the lesson the hard way, and there was no other way to do so, and she learned the hard way.

"I really don't think he slept much if at all," the nurse tattled a bit on the massive youth. "You got yourself a good friend in him," he nodded as he continued his work. The room was starting to smell a bit foul, not a new scent to Quinn as he would have smelled it a few times before - this bitter-sour stench that was like rotten fruit syrup. Just another one of his concoctions, the smell would waft away in a few minutes.
"He never took anything for his jaw," the Professor added. The part-giant had no secrets, especially when he knew that a pretty girl would likely force the boy to take care of himself after a brief scolding. Do his work for him essentially. "But I gave him the potion the other day, probably" he had no way of knowing for certain "a cracked jaw." He started to dip a ladle into the cauldron he had been nursing and withdrew from it a grey liquid that he was pouring into a row of phials without a label. "But he will be fine, just needlessly sore a few weeks if he decides to forego the potion," he concluded with relative indifference. The girl's arm would have been more like a club. The big boy's jaw has a mild crack that could be sealed in minutes with some skelegrow and the ache alleviated with a single dose of something for the pain.

"Nae nae I'm not a glutton. Ah'd like that potion right now. Me jaw is killing me." He rubbed the sore spot that was still purple and badly bruised. Groaning he sighed listening to Santario. She had a fair point but Quinn was still feeling pretty low about himself, given everything that occurred. Was this to be his life nothing but drama and violence? Gods he hoped not, that was no way to live. To be truthful that's how he lived much of the current year and it was not pleasant. Made him slightly paranoid about getting involved in situations.
Looking to San again he smiled softly at her words. "Besides ah'm tough ah could take a cracked jaw for 8 hours. Thooooough...ah'm never doing this again. Feels like someone took a bat to my jaw. Which fun fact ah've been hit wit a bat in the face before. Was honest accident but it still fuckin hurt ye know?" He started to laugh, and then cursed loudly again as the pain spiked once more. "O-Okae ye right. Please for the love of god can ah have something for me jaw now." He quickly blurted out. "...Ah'm again glad you're better San. Scared me for a moment."
