Logan smiled at the thought of making a club and shook her head, she did not think that was a good idea at all. She didn't think she would have the time or patients for that.

At the mention of Beau, Logan remembered their conversation from a different time when the house elf had been mentioned. She hadn't exactly thought that Beau was a house elf at that point, but she knew she was now.

"My favorite things to do other than favorite school subjects isn't hard at all." The Hufflepuff stated with a smile on her face as she looked at Elsian. "I love horseback riding. I used to compete in show jumping and cross country when I was younger but now I just ride for fun. I still have my old show horse Jupiter, he is a bay thoroughbred, and then I have my other horse Mercury, he is a dapple grey Irish Warmblood. Those are only my horses though, we also have my brothers' ponies and my aunt's horses and my father's horse." Logan froze when she realized that she was rambling and blushed slightly as she ducked her head. Mumbling a quick "sorry" as she started to flip through the pages of her astronomy book again.

The small Hufflepuff didn't look up from her book as she mumbled her next question, afraid to look up at Elsian and be laughed at for having talked about the horses so much. "Who are you closest to in your life? It could be anyone?"

"Seriously?" he asked, interested at once. He couldn't say he'd ever ridden a horse before and couldn't see it happening any time soon either unless he wanted to take a visit to his cousins. Which, he'd rather have to do a weeks worth of tests than suffer so chances were slim to say the least. "What do they look like? I know there's plenty of breeds but I don't actually know anything about them..." he looked at her with unbridled curiosity, "so you have a lot? Is it a tradition of something?"

Elsian frowned softly when Logan seemed to wilt under his gaze, practically burying her nose on that book. Sorry. He really couldn't stand how people always seemed to apologize for no reason around him.

"Why? I asked, you just answered. Honestly, it sounds amazing." he said frankly.

Her question was an easy one. One that he didn't even really think on before blurting out his answer, "Bea. Easily." Zero hesitation, the answer had been immediate. "Though, she may have competition at this point," he said thoughtfully. It felt like he was rapidly getting close to people recently...part of him, okay actually most of him, wondered how long that'd actually last for though.

"What's that?" he pointed at the book with a raised brow, "it looks like a book but you had pictures. Is it an album?"

Logan looked up at Elsian with a slight smile on her face. "I think I might have a picture here somewhere," Logan muttered as she flipped to the back of the book and found a picture of her and the two horses when she was younger. She held the photo out to Elsian to look at.

"My mother's family raises race horses for a living. She grew up riding horses and wanted us kids to grow up the same way." The Hufflepuff told the boy honestly as she looked at the few other pictures that were shoved into the back of the book.

When Elsian asked his question, Logan looked down at the book with a sad smile on her face. "It was my mother's journal when she came to Hogwarts. Everything she knew about astronomy is in this book. Once use kids were born she started to put pictures throughout it so that whenever she was working she would be able to see us kids. My aunt found it after she passed away and gave it to me, knowing that I wanted to do astronomy for a living. I have just been adding more pictures in over time whenever I receive them."

Logan opened the book again to a picture of her and her mother, she was probably only a few years old in the picture, and smiled down at it with a sigh. "Okay, umm. Have you ever learned how to dance? I have taken lessons since I was 4 for ball room and ballet, mostly because of all of the balls my father attends."

Automatically he leaned in closer to look at the picture, eyes going over the two beasts with slight fascination. His hand twitched in his lap, part of him wanting to grab the photo as if doing so would solve the curiosity worming its way into his head, but it urge was smashed down by the logical part of his brain knowing full well how silly the thought was. Tearing his gaze from the picture his frowned in confusion at her words, brow furrowing for a split second before vanishing in a blink when he remembered that racing horses was an actual sport.

"Honestly, I forgot that sort of thing existed…" leaning back his head tilted in his palm as he slouched back down putting all his weight onto his elbows atop the table, "that sounds fun though, if not a bit scary." he said feeling slightly uncomfortable at actually having to ride one.

"Your mum sounds nice," he hummed eyeing the book with her from his slouched position. He couldn't even begin to imagine being even a small bit as close to his family as Logan seemed to be with hers. At her next question he thought about not answering her for a tiny moment, realizing that they'd been playing the game for a bit now. Yet deciding against it he gave the other a single nod figuring one more question couldn't hurt, after all it didn't mess with his plans.

"Yeah, I learned a long time ago. My nan had to practically drag me to the tutors lesson the first time," he admitted feeling slightly embarrassed at how something he'd hated at so much had ended up helping him ever so much ever since.

Thinking he squinted at the table when he remembered how the woman had caught him by trapping his window and door, "she actually placed traps on my windows and door when I wasn't around just to catch me the next morning," he added glumly, "you'd think a 60 year old woman would be easy to escape but she's like a dementor." he sighed, leaning away and stretching as he began to move away.

He still couldn't believe how she'd put a filled up bucket on his door...

Twisting in his seat, he put one leg underneath himself, back leaning against the table so that both of them were sat in opposite ways. "This was fun," he began looking towards the other, "but I don't think I want to learn too much about you too quickly. I'll save my question for next time."

"It's more fun that way." he said, sounding quite sure of himself.

Logan looked over at Elsian with a grin on her face. "Next time there is a ball, you should dance with me. Prove how much dancing you actually remember." The Hufflepuff told him with a grin as she closed her book and turned her body so that she was facing boy.

"So what do you want to do now, seeing as we are going to finish this game at another time?" The young girl honestly had no idea what she wanted to do. She could attempt to finish her homework or start it for that matter, or just wait until a later time and finish it right before it was to be turned in. She huffed as she glanced at Elsian and slid her book back into her astronomy book back into her bag. She could see her DADA homework sticking out of a book.

Logan already knew she wasn't going to do that homework, that was the one class that she didn't think she did well in and hadn't started the homework yet. "You don't have to stick around if you have other friends you want to talk to. You honestly don't have to stick with me." She told him with a small smile on her face as she pulled out a small notebook that had all of her homework written on it.

The very idea made him scoff, head shaking with a small but firm defiance. The very idea of having to stomach a party made his skin tingle uncomfortably with the horrid but familiar memory of expensive, over used perfume and painfully fake politeness he'd come to grow used to at his grandmothers gatherings. Oh no no, while he was here he'd continue to embrace the freedom that being so far from home brought him. No balls or parties for him thank you very much. The tea party had been pushing it and he'd gotten off lucky with the company.

Besides, he knew quite well just how cursed Hogwarts events could be. There always seemed to be some sort of drama or fight. He refused to be caught up in any of that first hand.

"You'd have to pay me to go," he said, fingers shoving away at the bangs in his face, "and even then, I may still refuse. I hate them really."

His hand dropped to meet the one in his lap as he leaned forwards, hunching a bit on himself with legs idly swaying back and forth in tiny motions, "I'll just dance with you on a normal day or something. Merlin knows how abandoned the ballroom and rehearsal area can get. Plenty of space to do it." he waved off actually taking the challenge somewhat seriously.

"Amazing really since I thought we had a dance club or some other similar thing..." In his pause his eyes narrowed staring at his hands in thought before darting up to his friends face, giving the other a small mischievous smile, "don't worry. I won't step on your feet..." he looked away, silent for a moment before-

"...too much," he finished voice just loud enough for his friend to hear.

What did he want to do though? Joking aside he should probably be ripping the band aid off and just getting all his astronomy work out of the way in one miserable swoop. Would he?

No, he wasn't. It could be future hims problem.

"I'll be masterfully procrastinating my astronomy work by using the wonderful excuse of getting my dark arts and potions work done instead." he admitted rather unabashed, "its future me's problem now."

Logan's words didn't really register for a moment. But when they did? An actual laugh bubbled past his lips. Small and quiet but definitely there before it vanished in the half amused half disbelieving look he gave the other. "Yes yes, I'm going to ditch you to speak to all my many friends like the social butter I am," he intoned dryly, hands going to grasp the Hufflepuff's in his own with a blank look unbefitting the dramatic words, "Forgive me, I must spread my wings."

Letting go he rested a hand over his heart, "I'll remember you fondly Puff."

Logan playful glared at Elsian as he grabbed her hands. "Don't mock me," she pointed as him with her left had as she pulled a paper out of her bag that said DADA across the top of it. "And I am taking you up on the offer to dance in the ballroom at some point in time." Logan looked at him, the playful glare still on her face.

"We can use dancing as a reason to procrastinate on our homework, me with my DADA and you with your Astronomy." Logan hated to procrastinate but it was honestly something that she never understood.

The Hufflepuff looked up at Elsian with an honest look on her face. "Really though, if you want to go sit with anyone else you are allowed too. You are probably getting tired of me at this point and want to talk to someone else about something you actually like." Logan didn't want Elsian to be sitting here just because he felt bad. She was fine sitting by herself, she had so far this year.

Logan looked down at the paper she had pulled out of her bag and shoved it back in, crinkling it a bit as it was shoved against the books and quills. She shifted her hair behind her ear again and brushed a few dirt specs off of her sweater.

"I would never," he replied dropping her hands, raising his hands lazily in mock surrender.

He nodded sagely towards the other as if she'd just imparted some sort of heavenly wisdom upon their situation, "yes, yes, I agree. Procrastination is key, leave the problem for future us."

The act dropped however in the face of her honesty, making it seem almost wrong to try and shove the words away with teasing. It was at times like this that he figured someone would say something nice or placate the worries but he'd never been one for those types of things. Honeyed words wasn't him unless it was in the form of lies or persuasion and he'd never use that sort of thing on a friend.

Instead he eyed the other as she looked at her paper, the corners of his lips pulling downward and green eyes narrowing at the others careless words. He was rather silent as he leaned forward, hand reaching up to the Hufflepuff's head and flicking her not painfully but scolding on the side of her head, "stop that," he demanded, "if I wanted to see someone else I would. I don't do pity Logan."

"Unless you're tired of me," he challenged with a small smirk, "in which case...to bad for you," he sighed, "because I'm much to lazy to find anyone else so now you're stuck with me."

On a more serious note he would have to leave sooner or later but not for the reasons Logan seemed to believe he should be.

"I mean, I do have to leave soon but not for that." he admitted.

Logan head snapped up and she grabbed the side of her head, glancing at Elsian. "Ow," she muttered as she rubbed the side of her head, causing some hair to come frizz up and stick out of place. "You didn't have to flick me.." she trailed off as she stopped rubbing the side of her head and glared at the Gryffindor slightly.

"Dinner is almost over anyways, so we are both going to have to leave at some point in time." The Hufflepuff informed Elsian as she saw how many students had already left the Great Hall to either go to their common room or some other place to hang out with their friends. Logan noticed that there really weren't many Hufflepuff students left and she assumed most of them would be in the the common room talking with each other.

"I guess I really should get back to my dorm and start my homework, I kind of need good grades this term." Logan checked to make sure that she had everything in her bag as she stood up from the table. "I thought you would be the first one to leave, but I really do need to finish homework. I will see you again at some point Elsian, or invite you to come to the ball room to dance." The Hufflepuff smiled at Elsian and waved slightly. "I will see you soon," she called out to him as she hurried off out of the Great Hall, hoping that she didn't seem rude for having just up and left.

"Yeah," he sighed, eyeing the rapidly dispersing students. Guess they been here longer that he thought.

Quietly he listened to Logan talk, having zero qualms being one of the few to leave last if it meant he avoided the crowd that would be going to his common room. He snorted, shaking his head at the other when she finally got the rest of her stuff, "and get stuck in the mess of crowd that'll be my common room? No thanks."

He shifted to lean back a bit, the corner of his eye catching what seemed to be becoming a heated game of cards between some older students. At the others mention of homework he groaned looking away from the game, "I thought we agreed that was problem of future us," he bemoaned, waving the other away with a half pained half amused look, "you'll have to catch me first." he offered giving a small smile back.

As the other left he turned back to the game to the next table over frowning when he actually looked and... He winced when one of the girls stood up shoving her finger in the face of a fellow Gryffindor complaining of cheating. Squinting he looked at the cards because now that he actually focused they looked kinda off...kinda...burned?

Hearing Logan he quickly turned back towards the entrance and seeing her wave offered his own lazy equivalent, wiggling his fingers in her direction before she disappeared from view and turned to look back at his mystery card players oh my. He didn't know the wrist could bend that way annnd a wand was coming out...

Nope. He stood abruptly, passing by the table to the entrance because he was too close to their table for his liking and not about to get into cross fire between what looked like 6th or 7th years. Crowds be danmed.
