Zion looked at Avery with a blank face. To think someone at Hogwarts felt the feelings he did... it felt nice. Like he was not alone. A reminder that everyone out here was just simply acting like everything was fine, just like he was.

"No," Zion smiled as he scratched Jasper behind the ears. "Thank you. If I'm keeping a buck, I struggled making friends here. I had friends in the States that I thought were irreplaceable. Making new friends felt like betraying them you know?"

He looked up at Avery again. "But seeing how there are people that went through what I went through... I'm reminded of how self-centered and close-minded I was. Thank you, Avery."

Zion piled on more food on his plate as he ate a sausage in two bites and gulped another glass of orange juice.

"Who is it that you miss? Mine's the Bad Boys. A little group my homies and I made when we was kids," Zion chuckled in nostalgia.

It was quite a fond memory for Zion. Playing basketball until it was so dark you could barely see the net. Listening to both new and classic albums from Kendrick, Cole, and even old names like Pac and Biggie and ranking them. Playing Call of Duty in the basement until one of the boys' mothers came down to turn that shit off. How Zion wished those days never ended.

Avery nodded. She couldn't believe how similar their stories were. Avery had always been nervous to come to Hogwarts without her cousin, Dylan. It felt like a piece of her was missing and that she would betray their bond if she befriended someone else and became closer to whoever that person was and forget about him. It was hard, but Avery had learned over the past year that it was okay to make other friends. Her other friends had helped to heal the bond that had been broken when she was eight.

"I know that feeling. It's hard to start fresh somewhere new, but what I learned is that everyone always needs a close friend they trust. Someone they can confide in and reminisce about in the good times of the past. It's a way I learned to cope with everything." Avery explained to Zion as she sighed. She wished that the words she had said were easier said than done. It was far from easy to find the right people to confide in. The people you can trust to keep your secrets and be there for you through everything.

Avery tensed for a moment. Probably holding Jasper too tight for his comfort, but not tight enough to hurt him. She relaxed at that thought. Thinking about who she missed most was hard. She missed her muggle friend that died, but she missed her cousin the most. He had always been the kind of person that calmed her. Though they were only cousins, it felt like they were siblings. Probably due to the fact that her mother was the twin to his. Making them have a close bond just like their own children.

"Who do I miss the most? Well, I miss a lot of people, but most of all my cousin, Dylan. We've always been close, but he lives in America and goes to Ilvermony, so I rarely see him now. If I'm lucky I see him at balls and sometimes on breaks, but that's pretty much it." Avery explained with a sigh. Glad to get the words off her chest.
