After a long day of classes angel decided to go to the hogwarts courtyard you get some fresh air as she wandered around she looked at the intricate designs that was around she especially liked the fountain the sound of the running water was peaceful. Clutching her bookbag, she took a seat she dug around her bag and pulled out a small leather pouch she had gotten gotten from her father it was his gobstone set. it made her think about how much she missed her parents. She looked around at the students who were all walking by she was hoping someone would stop by and want to play with her. She had seen her father play it, and she always found it interesting, and she thought making a friend through a game of gobstones. As she sat outside in the courtyard, she decided to pull out a book and began reading about the game and its origins. she wondered to herself what the liquid inside was and what made it smell as bad as it did. Picking up one of the gobstones, she held it up and admired it as it shined in the light. The flooding memories of her parents made her smile to herself. she just sat there day dreaming of the different possibilities of what her future would be like.

Yolanda saw a young girl (the second year thought to herself about the firstie). The girl was sitting alone, with her gobstone set,and searching around looking lost. Admiring the precious looking Gobstone set and admiring a shiny gobstone from the set, the girl looked content yet…hopeful.
Yolanda was the only witch of her large family (though the youngest of all) and was still fascinated by wizard games. Wizards Chess and Quidditch, among other wizarding games and sports, were all so cool! Yolanda wasn’t above or too old to enjoy a good, if smelly, game of gobstones.
The girl looked friendly enough; maybe she even wanted someone to play? It was worth asking. No harm if not.
That;s the pep-talk to herself to get Yolanda courageous enough to go up to the other girl.
“Hi there! I’m Yolanda, I see you admiring a very nice looking gobstone set. Where did you get it? We could play a round - if you wanted - or not, whatever works. Wanted to tell you how cool it looks!”
Would they wanna play? The stones looked cool and the game seemed fun. She hoped they could get a fun game going.
“Are you a first year? Think I saw you in the sorting - hard to remember every new years face and name so sorry about that. How you enjoying Hogwarts so far?”
Yolanda was no expert at small talk but she could tell the girl was receptive at least to the game of gobstones and maybe even a nice chat. It could be a lot of fun!

Angel was roused from her daydream by the gentle calling of her name. She gazed up to see another student standing before her. She smiled up at her with her own. "Hi, nice to meet you? My dad gave me his old gobstones set as a gift. a reminder of him while i am at school. He'd had it for years. If you'd like, we could play a few games." Her voice was the weight of memory, calm and soothing, but there was a tear of sorrow in it. "Yes, im a first-year student here. Isn't Hogwarts wonderful? I just can't wait to see as much as possible.". Angel yearned for someone to decipher these small pieces of her life. She crossed one leg over the other, sat on the ground, retrieved a piece of chalk from her backpack, and slowly and steadily drew a big circle on the earth road for their game. The strokes seemed to come to life and yet, at the same time, brought her back to memory afternoons with her father. She put all the game pieces in the middle of the circle and looked at the faded colors and the worn-down edges—the aftermath from all the games that had been played before. With the preparation done, she turned to the other student with a look of eagerness in her eyes. "Okay," her voice was not serious but rather playful, "let's see who is going first." As they were setting out for the first time, Angel felt as if something similar to heat was creeping into her; the world brightened. These are the times alive with the kind of joy from making each other laugh and with the feeling that anything might be possible, and it reminded her of the joys that life could give.

“Hogwarts IS wonderful! Youngest goes first, so you start.” Yolanda said to the Ravenclaw girl, Angel, confidently, as if being a second year meant she was much older and wiser... so she perceived. Even so, Yolanda saw a touch of wisdom among the whimsy that Angel first year brought with her.
“Unless you have another idea of how to decide who goes round 1?” she said, settling down to the ground with the girl.
The aged Gobstone set was quite vintage and splendid. Yolanda could see the shift in Angel. A soft quietness fell over the girl as she took out her cherished Gobstone set.
“Wow, this is from your Dad? Cool! You could pass that down for generations! Even add magical elements to it!” Yolanda wasn’t actually sure about whether Charms or Enchantments could be added to the Gobstone set – and if it did whether they could be lineage based – but came off sounding confident.
Angel sounded playful so Yolanda tried to keep herself from getting overly serious. This was a ‘game’ after all. And a funny and stinky one at that! Giggling she looked forward to the game and getting to know Angel better.
“So we start with 15 stones each – correct? And don’t worry – I got some perfume for after. You might need it.” Yolanda quipped playfully, but she really did have a bit of perfume on her.
Lets play!

As she did, Angel’s face was radiant with delight when she spread the Gobstones out one by one between them, the stones glinting slightly in the light of the fire, which was coming from the nearby Ravenclaw common room."Exactly! Fifteen each. And yeah, my dad brought me this set when I got my letter. He said he used to be the champion of every match in his day," she said, her smile slightly reflecting her pride—and a little mischievousness. "But I think it's because he was playing against gnomes in the garden, not people," she supplemented. " Angel softly laughed, pulled her hair back with her hand, and very kindly and gently laid down the first stone on the worn table."Ok, let’s get started with the first round! If you are a good shot, the wisdom of the Ravenclaw should help you.”Angel barely grazed her Gobstone with her wand in a light tap, just enough for the stone to move towards the center. The stone made the closest to the center of the board of all the others with a sharp and crisp sound. Then—pffft!—a terrible-smelling green mist appeared and twisted in the air.Angel laughed very hard while covering her face with her hand. “Ugh! This one definitely smells like dragon dung and cabbage,” she said between her laughing, making faces, and fanning the mist with her hand.Still laughing, she had one hand on her belly and with the other was reaching down, her hair falling over her face. "Okay, your turn! We'll see if Ravenclaw logic can defeat Ravenclaw luck!"She was supporting her head with her hands, her eyes bright with eagerness—the nerves of a first-year had gone and had been replaced by the sparkle of friendly rivalry and the quiet happiness of being exactly where she belonged.
