@Rafael D'SpacitoIt took a minute for him to process how real everything was, the fact that he'd bled after he hit his head, that Rafa's concern brought him down beside him... everything, really, had him spinning around in circles. He'd hardly processed that his boyfriend was even speaking by the time he felt arms around him, his hands instinctively going down to hold Rafa's, meeting them down his stomach. He shut his eyes, leaning back on him with a loud exhale, a meager attempt at getting the tears to stop rolling down his face.
"You're all right," He breathed, reaching an arm around his shoulder, into his hair. "It's fine, I'm fine. I'm fine," He meant it, too, for the most part. He was so jarred from all of that happening at once that he just needed a second, he'd gotten the reassurance he needed anyhow. He felt worse for Rafa, who had to really... go through that, watch Gem hit his head on a rock and pretend to be dead for about a minute. He would've labeled it as traumatizing, but he felt like he'd have to die for it to be that bad.
"I'm sorr-" He interrupted himself with a sniff, wiping his eye with the back of his wrist. "I'm sorreh I made stupid assumptions that weren't true... joost... I got a bit worried, right? I'm sorry."
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.

Rafael knew better than to put his faith in others’ words. He knew better than most that the tongue was a fickle thing, spouting both lies and truth at the same time. They could bring people together, or tear people apart, if well-spoken enough. Words, in fact, had built entire kingdoms, made powerful alliances, and had lit stars in the sky when there was no light to be found – and yet, they had destroyed lives, caused death and destruction, and had done so much to damage the world as it was. Words were a building block as much as they were a weapon.
And Rafael liked to think himself strong. He’d only cried three times in his entire eleven years, at least that he could recall. He’d gone hand-to-hand with grown men, defended his opinion when no one else would stand with him, and had put people down to save himself. He liked the perilous things in life: danger, fire, and things he couldn’t control. And yet, somehow, he found that the well-placed words seeped into his seemingly invulnerable armour, like water in a car door, slowly drowning him and sucking the life out of his livelihood –
And, it was difficult to explain.
Honestly, Rafael wasn’t really sure how to feel about Gem’s words. He hadn’t thought much of Jack’s threat that New Years’ Eve, about his warning, that even the best of relationships could be tested. He had been tested – Jack had tested him. Yeah, that was right. Jack had crossed the line. He’d pulled the last straw. And because of it, the Slytherin would certainly suffer. Rafael would kill the boy, he would – there was nowhere Jack could run, nowhere he could hide. The snake would burn, and it would all be his own fault. And there would be no words, no threats that could stop him at this point – it was personal, now. A vendetta, if there ever was one. Jack had signed his own death warrant, and if he knew what was good for him, he would do well to stay out of the path of the deadly Gryffindor.
Though, Rafael couldn’t even bring himself to begin plotting, as his boyfriend was still in his arms, all sad and dejected. It brought a damper on Rafael’s inward turmoil, in fact, as he couldn’t help but feel the pain seeping off of the other boy in waves. In respect of Gem and his mood, the Gryffindor remained silent for a moment, allowing the other boy to gather his thoughts, and giving the comfort necessary to calm him down. [At least, to the best of his ability.]
"I'm sorr- I'm sorreh I made stupid assumptions that weren't true.” Gem’s words cut through the air like a sharp knife, prompting Rafael to pay attention once more – his head shifted as he tuned in to the boy’s words, his nose buried in the Ravenclaw’s long hair. “Joost..." he said, “I got a bit worried, right? I'm sorry." An apology – an unnecessary one, at that. They both knew whose fault it was.
“It’s…” Rafael started, chewing his tongue quietly in the hopes of getting his thoughts together. “It’s fine, you know. More of my fault, I guess.” He looked up for a moment, his eyes meeting the sun, as if somehow the black splotches in his eyes would give him the answers to his problems. “I shouldn’t have ever let him get away with that. It wasn’t right, and I should have come to you sooner.” His chin once again resting on the boy’s shoulder, he continued quietly. “I’ll make it up to you, you know,” he murmured, exhaling through his teeth. “I’ll… find something. I’ll do something. I’ll fix everything, okay?” [/font]

I probably haven't collected my allowance yet.
