This is for the errand Love is in the Garden

Professor MacTavish had given the students the opportunity to place flowers around Hogwarts, so long as they were willing to pick them. The news was a soft delight to Flash, who loved the idea of seeing flowers tastefully adorning the halls and classrooms. He daydreamed about the unrealistic ideal, knowing in truth it would likely turn out to be more akin to smatterings of color in unsuspecting corners. The reality was just as well, since he had his own armful of flowers to do with as he pleased.
Walking through the hallways illuminated by the afternoon sun, with a bushel of freshly plucked flowers in one arm and a big white cardboard box in the other, Flash drew the attention of other walking by. Many of them smiled, or giggled. That was a bit of the magic of nature working on them, Flash thought. He figured that they belonged somewhere that people would spend a long time, so that the beauty and the purfume could be rightly appriciated. Reading, he concluded, was the perfect accompaniment to flowers.
Back when he lived in the Holmwood Mansion with his family, they were surrounded on all sides by a large expanse of fields and rolling hills. When he was at his limit, it was a convienient escape. He would often bring books out to a clearing in the forest that he claimed as his own and meagerly decorated. He spent many summer evenings doing nothing by lying around in the grass, turning page after page of whatever comic book or action mystery serial he could get his hands on. Eventually he was forced to desist when he realized the elements would always inevitably destroy the books so long as they tried to survive in the wild.
It would follow then that bringing nature to the books was a poetic act. They also couldn't survive for long away from where they belonged. I wonder if it's possible with magic, Flash thought, to survive where you don't belong.
Flash entered the library, which was already stocked with a number of patrons. Most of them took no note of Flash's entry at all, while others covered their mouths to resist the impulse to chuckle.
Without much ado, he started deciding the spots where the flowers could go. He took the small single flower vases he had in his box and placed a different flower on each study table one-by-one. Each was different, but Flash was sure to be picky about chosing the most bright and beautiful of the selection. At least by his taste.
Feel free to jump in if you want to recieve a flower from Flash. That, or join him to continue spreading flowers around the castle

Herbology had easily become one of Lark's favorite classes from from the very start of the year. Something about being in the greenhouse or fresh air around plants just calmed the young Ravenclaw. It was something she was familiar with from her home in Cork and always made her feel at ease. So with her ever growing love of Herbology any chance she had to help out Professor MacTavish, Lark gleefully took it. The most recent one involving flowers had been posted and upon reading the task Lark found herself unable to stop smiling all day. The castle had been rather stuffy lately with the chilly weather outside and harsh winds.. seeing some fresh flowers giving color to Hogwarts would be a wonderful idea! Lark was sure it would cheer up at least a majority of her peers which she always enjoyed seeing. It had even sparked her creative side, unable to focus in class and instead doodling small flowers in the corner of her notes.
Spending time hand picking and considering each flower, color, and meaning, Lark had carefully assembled different arrangements to place around the castle. She has spent a better half of the morning placing them in spots she knew gained a lot of foot traffic outside some of the classrooms leaving the Library for later in the day. The sinks in the girl's lavatory had been decorated with some already so Lark simply added a few here and there. Seeing that others had already been in some spots gave her another sense of warmth that she wasn't alone in wanting to celebrate the coming of Spring.
The silver-haired girl had taken a break for an early lunch in the afternoon before continuing with the errand, taking a quick second to pass out a flower to a group of older Ravenclaw girls sitting at the table when she entered the Great Hall. She had already run out of small vases and would have to swing by to grab more, wondering if maybe the tinier bud vases would be well suited for the Library, less chance of spilling on the books which was absolutely a concern she held close. Books were something she did not tolerate being abused or damaged.
A quick detour to stop and grab a box of vases before rushing off to the Library, Lark found herself humming as she hurried down the hall. She passed by two of her friends at various points on her quest and handed out a flower to each before continuing on her way. One of them, a second year, had stopped her long enough to talk her into making a flower chain for both of them to wear as she helped hand out flowers before heading into class. Lark adjusted the band of forget-me-nots nestled atop her head from falling off as her grip on the box slipped slightly bringing her knee up to catch it. What was left of her flowers, mostly lilies, alstroemeria, and some snapdragons at this point having saved the best for last, were safely nestled on top of the pile of vases clanking together with each step.
Entering the Library had only warranted a couple of glances from people studying, most of which turned just as quickly back to their books and some grimacing realizing she wasn't their study partner for the day. Lark set her box on one of the tables and realized it was already decorated. In fact... as her golden eyes scanned the room most of them were. Of if someone else had known this would be a good spot but who? Her gaze sliding from one figure to another, none of which she recognized she spotted a boy not too far off with a white box. He looked well kept and hair tidy but Lark couldn't bring to mind who he was. Perhaps another first year? The look on his face seemed friendly... and if he was partaking in the errand he must be kind, from what she saw he had good taste in the floral department anyway.
Leaving her box and flowers on the table Lark quietly worked her way over to him hoping to introduce herself and see if he wanted to work together. Before Hogwarts she would never have dreamt of just walking right up to anyone and starting a conversation yet so much had changed. Plus, what did she really have to lose? Coming up behind him, Lark cleared her throat gently and gave a small wave.
"Are ya handin' out flowers as well?" Her thick Irish accent immediately giving her away almost making her whispered "Library voice" inaudible to anyone else but the boy. Holding out her hand she offered the boy a warm smile. "I'm Lark, nice ta meet ya."

Opeila didn't really like plants. Ok, trees maybe, but not flowers or herbs. She automatically aways wondered, what they might do if you put them into a potion, and she really didn't want to think about potions when she wasn't in class.
The Slytherin had no idea, why she would do all this stuff, just to get housepoints. She had been in one errand before, also a Valentine's errand, and it ended as a complete desaster. The Professor, who taught the flying lessons, had match-made her with her Gryffindor friend Ruka Tân, who had been about to pass out from a head injury. So why would she join an errand again? Maybe because it didn't involve hot tea and tables. Maybe the vases could be used as weapons though... Oh, rubbish. No need to be paranoid.
Opeila had picked some flowers and vases, and made her way up to the library. Apparently she wasn't the only one who had the idea. Two other students were already walking around, placing flowers on the tables. One of them she recognized as Flash Holmwood, the Slytherin who she had talked to in the Great Hall. The other student was a Ravenclaw girl, Opeila had never talked to.
Never mind. Opeila just joined the other two in placing flowers on the table.
A student got up from his table to look for some more books, leaving his books and something, that looked like the beginning of an astronomy essay, alone. A mischievous grin showed on the Slytherin's face. Quickly she went over to the table and placed a single red rose on the essay. Then she quickly went away again, glancing to the table from time to time. She was curiousy how the student would react to this prank.
Still smirking, she placed some more vases on the tables. It wasn't long until the student returned to her place. Confused she looked around, before she picked up the rose. Was she blushing? Yes, she definitely was.
Quietly the Slytherin chuckled and hid behind a bookshelf.
Then she heard the Ravenclaw girl introducing herself as Lark. Opeila knew that name, she had heard it before, she knew she had. And then she remembered.
Flac Flintshire once offered her a handkerchief, and later metioned that it belonged to a Ravenclaw called Lark. So that must be the girl he meant.
Curious Opeila joined the other students. "So you are the Ravenclaw who gave her handkerchief to Flintshire!", she said to the girl. "Opeila Seilun. Nice to see you again, Holmwood."

Flash was comforted to see more flowers filter into the room, accompanied by first years like him. They were both girls as well, even one of them being a Slytherin he had made acquaintance with already. Flash had little apprehension about taking part in activities that were historically relegated to girls. So long as he wasn't actively intruding, he was usually accepted into the fold by appearing non-threatening, something that was even easier to accomplish with colorful flowers in his hands.
The girl with the thick accent had actually taken him by surprise, calling out to him from behind while he was concentrated on his task. She greeted him kindly however, alluding to the fact that they were on the same errand. Flash turned to look at her, as sure enough she had an impressive collection of flowers with her as well.
"Are ya handin' out flowers as well?" She whispered, taking their surroundings into account and holding out her hand, "I'm Lark, nice ta meet ya."
"Miss Lark, it's a pleasure." Flash smiled broadly. Before he could continue with his usual flattery and give his hand in return, he was surprised yet again as Opeila Selun joined them from behind the shelves.
"So you are the Ravenclaw who gave her handkerchief to Flintshire!", she said to the girl. "Opeila Seilun. Nice to see you again, Holmwood."
So Lark was a Ravenclaw, and was giving out handkerchiefs. It was certainly nice to see Miss Seilun too, given her inclination if giving out free information. Flash really was fond of her strong personality, though he knew his flattery was nearly useless in her presence.
"Miss Opeila as well, aren't I blessed!" Flash exclaimed, still keeping his voice down. "I think the only thing better than books and flowers is good company. Shall we liven this library up together?"

"Miss Lark, it's a pleasure."
The boy's response sent a small blush across her cheeks. No one had spoken to her so formally before, and definitely not called her Miss. It flustered her nerves slightly as she studied his somewhat seemingly regal posture. She didn't recognize him from around the castle, but perhaps they had a class or two together? There were always so many fellow first years crammed into the rooms that she often glazed over the faces around her and focused on lectures instead. Lark parted her lips to begin inquiring as to the boy's name when a new voice rang up from next to her as an auburn haired girl walked up to them.
"So you are the Ravenclaw who gave her handkerchief to Flintshire!"
As she introduced herself, Lark returned the gesture giving her own name and offered a wave of her hand. Up until now she had completely forgot about giving the handkerchief to Flac! A sliver of panic rushed through her knowing her Gran might be a bit miffed that it was no longer in her possession. Not that she minded the boy having it, he seemed to really need it the day they met. She just might have to bump into him again... Placing another vase with a handful of flowers daintily tucked in, Lark noticed the boy chatting up Opeila. They must know each other already.
"It would be great ta see more color in this place!" Lark grinned as she nodded to the boy's comment about livening up the place. Lark loved the Library but she could agree that sometimes it felt a bit stale sometimes. Perhaps the pop of color and fresh scent of the flowers would cheer up the ever so studious Hogwarts students.

Lark waved at her and also introduced herself. "Nice to meet you!", the Slytherin said.
Opeila smiled over Flash's formal language, he used on both girls. Now he said that the only thing, that was better than books and flowers, was good company. "I guess you're right there." Especially because she still was suspicious about those flowers. What if one of those was dangerous, and a petal fell on a book, was carried into a potion lesson, and then fell into a cauldron without anyone noticing?
This was probably very unlikely, but still possible, right?
She should probably stop being so paranoid about everything that is somewhere connected to plants or potions, but how could she?
Opeila had hidden a little smile when Lark blushed because of Flash's response. Yap, this boy would probably not have much of a problem to find a girlfriend if he wanted to. He didn't look bad, everyone could see that, and his words could be quite flattering. Opeila was just naturally suspicious about flattering, what made her pretty much immune.
The Ravenclaw seemed to agree with her housemate and now said, that it would be great if there was some more colour at this place. Opeila placed another vase one a bookshelf. "Well, that's why we're here, right?", she said, smiling.
But it would also probably change the atmosphere of the library completely, if they put candles in different colours in there, instead of the plain white ones.
That would be a funny workshop. Colouring all the candles!
