@Erik Tharaldson
Kaegen was getting food. He moved towards the table, and suddenly had a bench to himself. He wasn't really exuding the full force of his hatred, hatred so tangible it could be felt and seen. If anything, the room was slightly colder, brought down a few degrees by his presence alone. No, it was no unnatural ability that made the other students back away. It was the stories, the tales of what this little ravenclaw had done.
Looking at him, he could hardly be accredited with almost murdering someone. The boy, everything about him, from his clothes to his skin, looked faded and dead. His robe was fraying and not even entirely black anymore, color slowly seeping out to make a off-black. His skin was a sickly, wretched shade of grey that fit more on a corpse than it did on a boy. Dark circles surrounded his eyes, and his fingers, which could be seen clutching some bread, were thin, spidery and long, tipped with dull claws.
The large umbrella strapped to his back seemed like something out of a movie, or perhaps something belonging to a very eccentric giant. But it, too, was faded and worn. The only part of the boy that seemed at all alive were the little rings of red that made his pupils look like twin eclipses. They were utterly inhuman, and completely alive.
He got off the bench after wolfing down his bread in a remarkably short amount of time, and, ignoring the rest of the food even though he was still hungry, he chose to leave. Wouldn't do to stay in one place for too long. His hand grabbed another piece of bread as he got up, and started heading quickly for the exit.

Erik was having a busy day. He had been stuck with his nose in dusty tomes and books in the library all day trying to get some homework done. He had to do it now as he had been procrastinating it for almost a week now and it just kept piling up. If he didn't do anything about it, he was sure he was going to drown in it in no time. Secretly he had hoped his homework would just magically disappear. Alas, it hadn't happened... Yet. This was a school of magic after all, so it wouldn't be so far fetched. Erik had only taken his eyes from his book when his stomach had started growling. When he looked up, he noticed he had been doing homework for the last couple of hours.
I'm famished., Erik thought. After this chapter I should really go eat something in the great hall first. So, with that he had continued to work and finally, after a couple more minutes he had closed everything and made his way to the great hall. His stomach's volume had started growling a lot more and louder than the first time when he smelled the delicious scent of fresh prepared food that came out of the great hall. He quickly picked up his pace.
When he entered the hall, he noticed a sickly, pale, almost greyish looking boy with washed off clothing and was he seeing that correctly? An umbrella strapped to his back. This kid's not only sick, but weird as well. Erik was so lost in thought he forgot where he was walking and bumped up against the sick kid. Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bump in to you like that.

Impact.
He felt the boy before there was even any real contact, he felt the cloth of his robes pressing in less than a second before he felt it on his skin, but in that instance, he panicked. An attack, an assault, an attempt to rob him of the most valuable gem he possessed. That glittering bauble of absolute pricelessness that was his own life. His pupils flared out across his eyes, little red rings burning in the center of the twin pools of black as he moved hurriedly backwards several steps, staggering.
Hands darted into sleeves, long, spidery fingers felt the hardened black wood of a little handle, and closed tight, in a grasp that denoted the desperation of someone who really did think that he was about to die. A weapon, a dangerous tool and a child'd plaything, all rolled into one. His wand was too slow, his magic too weak, he knew this, and magic was certainly not going to be his go to.
More than his eyes had blackened. His shadow, already oddly large, had shot up along the wall, looming and dark and terrifying, the little patch of shadow by Kaegen's feet started to lash out in little tendrils, shadows knitting together as the light seemed to fade, torches flickering as the temperature around the boy dropped several degrees. It all happened at once, a transformation from a sickly ravenclaw to something monstrous.
A hufflepuff behind him let out a squeak, and dove for the safety of an older boy, who was trying to decide if he should move forward and deck the monster to maintain face, or if he should trust his instincts and run. People started to trickle out of the great hall, and still more of them picked up their plates with pale faces and moved to far corners. Yet, for all the fear that suddenly burst forth in the great hall, it only lasted for a few seconds.
Shadows calmed down, torches and candles ceased their panic, warmth returned, and the black pits that had seemingly replaced the half vampire's eyes retreated for the most part. The slingshot had never been drawn, his hand still up his sleeve. The slytherin had apologized. It had been an accident, just an accident, he was fine, this was fine.
A drop of blood started to grow in the corner of his eyes, blood that was quickly wiped away with the fading sleeve of his fraying robe. He had overreacted, he was going to be okay, the boy hadn't hurt him, hadn't even tried. Adrenaline pumped hard through his veins and pounded in his ears as he tried to calm himself, and only partially succeeded.
"Sorry. Yes. It's good."

Erik saw the boy staggering backwards almost unrealistically fast. That was when everything seemed to change. The air around him seemed to grow heavy and cold. The boy itself had all forgotten about his bread and had retracted his hands inside his shabby looking sleeves in some sort of defence and his pupils had dilated. Accompanied with this fact was a terrible feeling of complete and utter desperation and terror. Erik cowered away in fear. He fell on his knees with his hands and arms in front of his face? his palms faced towards his sickly assailant whilst mumbling: Please, no! Don't! This dreadful feeling seemed to pour off of the Ravenclaw boy in waves that crashed against a rock. Right now the young werewolf was the rock and he had never felt so alone and desperately in need for help as at this moment. Silently, he sobbed and tears rolled down his cheeks. It seemed like this feeling had lasted a lifetime whilst in fact, it had only been seconds. And then it stopped. Like someone had pulled out a stopper of a washbasin.
A few heartbeats later, Erik had calmed himself down. He pulled his courage together and warily dared look from behind his hands to see the sick boy as he apologised and said everything was okay. The werewolf slowly got up and looked at him. His senses were heightened as he felt alarmed and he decided to give them free reign in an attempt to get some understanding of this mysterious, sickly boy. Erik smelled deep. The boy smelled different. He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something was off about him. That and adrenaline seemed to drip off of him. It was so strong he could almost taste it. As the wolf heard an almost ear deafening, rapidly beating heart could be heard. It almost made him grab his ears in a futile attempt to block out the resonating sound. The boy seemed to have mentally assaulted him. How? Erik wasn't sure. The Slytherin looked at his assailant from top to bottom as he wondered out loud: What the hell are you?

The boy recovered quickly. That wasn’t much of a surprise, no one would be scared of Kaegen if it wasn’t for what they felt. He looked off, he looked unhinged to be sure, but he also looked weak. His fingers were long and thin, his skin was pasty and corpselike. Everything about him was tattered and worn, torn and faded. If it wasn’t for what you felt, if it wasn’t for the way his eyes lit up like twin eclipses of flaming red rings, there wouldn’t be much to fear. Unless, of course, you heard the stories.
”I’m the monster of hogwarts.”
There was something odd about the boy he was looking at. Something different. Something about the smell? About the way he carried himself? Something about his eyes, maybe? Kaegen’s senses were sharp, even beyond that of an average Dhampir. He didn’t know what to be watching out for, and he couldn’t possibly fathom why, but somewhere, he was dimly aware that this boy wasn’t quite the same as everyone around him. A slightly different shade of person.
Kaegen took a deep breath, and looked down at his hands to see them shaking slightly. That was fine, he was just calming down. Deep breaths that made hardly any sound, hissing noiselessly from his mouth. He had gotten worked up, he had let fear take hold again, he had failed in his lofty goal of surviving without the need of panic and terror, of paranoia and the poisonous brambles of his mind.
”...And you?”
