Hana stood there, trying to blend in with the crowd, restraining herself from doing something silly. Just as she was going to ask the other girls some random questions, which is her way of 'normal', one of the girl started talking, so Hana told herself to shut up. She listened as the girl started explaining about how the audition work, which they will first vote for the backstage crew than the onstage members. Hana nodded along, understanding the importance of the backstage crew. If the director or the scriptwriter suck at their job, then no matter how good one actor is, the play will turn crap too. Hana did signed up for director, she told herself that if she got the job, she'll be very very serious about it, but in reality, no promises.
The girl at the front told them it's time to vote for the director, and of course, Hana needed to find someone who is suitable for the job. Well, Hana didn't know any of them yet so guess what, she needed to use her impeccable sixth sense, though it didn't exist, and find the person who has that director-kind-of-look. She looked around but her eyes landed on that one girl, the one at the front who did all the explaining. Hana said that she looks really professional and she's like the boss. And in reality, it's quite obvious, that girl's been leading them and teaching them how to vote or how this damn thing works, which means, she'll make a good director. And well, Hana voted her.

Leo made his way out to the Great Lake where he had seen there would be auditions for a show today. While he didn’t talk about it much, he was in a couple of plays during some summer breaks with his sister, or more so because his sister made him join with her. After being involved on stage and backstage for the shows he had come to like being part of the theater. Maybe it was not as big of a love as art, reading or music, but he did find it fun to act as someone different from himself and also liked getting to help a little backstage too. In the end he was drawn to taking part in it again after some time away from it and was excited to see who else would be at the auditions.
As he walked up to the group he glanced around, the only familiar face he knew was that of Avery. @Avery Gray Leo gave her a small wave as he waited for everything to start. The girl at the front of the group explained that they would be starting the auditions but would be first figuring out the backstage crew before starting to audition the parts. Leo nodded along as she talked until it came time to vote. With him not knowing anyone else apart from one person he decided to vote for the girl who was basically leading the auditions right now for the director spot. @Edith Walkers She seemed good at leading these auditions so surely she would handle being director really well.

Keegan got his desire for attention and preforming from his father so, when he saw there was a play going on he signed up as soon as he saw auditions for a performance-even if it was a fairy tale. As he made his way to the great lake-much to his chagrin there was only one other boy there it seemed like. He should've guessed-most of them would rather be at the quititch pit than at a theater rehearsal-but there was just something about the involvement in theater that Keegan adored-the hard effort everyone put in to make a show great. The magic of the stage. He fidgeted with the bottom of his sweater as he looked around. He's already done some backstage stuff thanks to his father's gigs and serious lack of roadies so he had a bit of an understanding on the technical side of things-he's preformed on stage but he never quite acted before. Keegan glanced around. He recognized Leo[@Leo Noxley, and Bree-great the stalker-(jk jk)@Ellie Randensmith@Hazel Nelson but that was it. He swallowed thickly and made his way with the crowd to wait for the auditions to start. He either wanted to be the prince(the obvious choice of course- or work in lights and sounds-costuming might be fun too-as he's had to patch up a few of his clothes before so he already knew how to sew(sort of at least)

✽Avery waved to her friends as they arrived. Many familiar faces and many new ones came to the auditions. Avery was surprised at the amount that was there. Usually, not very many people came to auditions from her experience, but she was glad to see a larger group. It meant that the news of the show was spreading and growing in popularity.
Though she didn't know what Cinderella was, she did know what a director did. Just taking a glance around the area she knew the girl that had organized the event would be a good director. She had an air to her that meant business and a way of getting people to listen. Two things Avery knew would be good when making a large stage production that required lots of work and training.
Avery would have loved to audition for a role like that, but she knew she wasn't ready for it. She always remembered to start out slow. Build herself up the ranks so she'd be the best she could be whenever she someday got the chance to lead. She needed to do good. Even if it meant she started as an understudy for someone else that ended up not having to perform in the show.
She stood slightly away from the rest of the group. Not wanting to be distracted by their chatter as she assessed the situation. She had to make good choices and had to make sure she didn't make a mistake when deciding. That meant she had to have her own opinion. An opinion not influenced by others.
Avery honestly couldn't wait to see what role or roles she would receive. She loved acting, but working backstage was just as fun! That's probably why she chose acting roles and backstage roles. Both were equally important to the outcome of the play and there to make sure the play they were to do ran smoothly. ✽

Vote for director:Word Count: 242The first round of auditions was for the director. She looked around at the people who wanted to be directer and selected one whom she thought was best suited. This was Ellie's first show and from what she had heard about shows, the directer is normally already chosen for everybody, but whatever the case she handed her vote in, confident this person would do a good job in her role. She had seemed like a natural leader from what Ellie had seen.
Certain roles, Ellie knew would be the most popular. From what she had heard of the story, Cinderella was the main role thus Ellie assumed to be the most popular. A directer was a lead on the show, he person who controlled the show so it made sense that being a directer would get many people. It had been on Ellie's mind to try for it, but she decided against it, no way she wanted all that pressure of a) choosing everyone's roles and b)planning a whole show! This was her first production, so she was just dipping her feet in, choosing roles that would be good for her. Something comfortable that offered still some challenge and competitiveness for the role.
As Ellie looked around, she wondered what everyone had auditioned for. There was a pretty big group of people and everyone seemed to be as excited as she was for this. Only time would tell how this would end.

Cinderella auditions! How exciting to arrive at the Great Lakes for the play trials.
Yolanda blushed as she realized she must have done something wrong in the signup. She had no intention of being the Director right off the hop. It was most likely a mistake on Yolanda's part… she was happy with any girl onstage role. Yes, of course she wanted Cinderella, but one of the step-sisters, Anastasia or Drizella, Lady Tremaine or Fairy Godmother, that was more her interest…
“I er- I - am um not so interested in the Director role - more interested in one of the female roles… step-sisters, fairy godmother, lady Tremaine.” Yolanda managed to stutter out.
Wishing her first impression was different, she tried not to stress out. Yolanda told herself to focus on what's up at the auditions.
“My name is Yolanda. I hope we all have tons of fun! This is really amazing - thanks for organizing it all!“ she said, smiling at the organizer. Not really needing to vote since it was an Edith Director landslide, instead Yolanda asked, “Does anyone need a Cinderella recap? Anyone not know the whole story?” She smiled at the irony that it was the magical peers that might need help with more muggle fairytales such as they were working on.
Happy to help and happy to be there Yolanda looked forward to getting to know everyone involved in the Cinderella fun.

The Great Lake shimmered like a giant mirror, perfectly still except for tiny ripples dancing across the surface. Tall pine trees hugged the shore, their reflections stretching long and green in the water. The morning sunlight turned everything golden, and the cool breeze carried the smell of fresh leaves and wet stone.
Lauren ran along the lakeside path, her backpack bouncing behind her.
“Oh no, I’m late!” she gasped. Today was important — the whole community was gathering at the Great Lake to vote for the new director of the upcoming Cinderella play.
Everyone had been talking about it for weeks. Four directors wanted the job:
Yolanda Yates, Hana Suzuki, Tatiana Contraire and Edith Walkers.
Lauren skidded to a stop when she reached the meeting area.
But when she looked around… not everyone was there yet.
She blinked. “Wait… I’m on time?”
She laughed at herself and sat on a smooth rock by the lake.
The water sparkled. Birds chirped. The calmness helped her think.
Edith was like, in charge. Right?
Lauren watched the ripples spread across the lake’s surface.
She liked the idea of something new… something magical.

The Black Lake shimmered under the warm afternoon sun, golden reflections dancing across the gentle ripples. Lindsey stood near the water’s edge, arms folded, trying to decide whether she felt more nervous or confident. Somehow, she was both—buzzing with anxious energy yet steady enough to keep her feet planted.
Clusters of students were scattered behind her, rehearsing lines, humming songs, or whispering pep talks. Lindsey scanned the shore, hoping to spot a familiar face… and then she saw them.
Avery.
Ellie.
They stood together near a fallen tree trunk, chatting and laughing about something—probably the show. Seeing them tugged a small smile from Lindsey before she could stop it. Okay, she told herself, you can do this. Just… walk over. Words. Use words.
She took a deep breath and crossed the grass, her steps lighter with each stride.
“Hey—Avery! Ellie!” Lindsey called softly, lifting a small wave. “I didn’t think I’d find you two out here this early.” Her voice wavered only slightly.
Ellie turned first, grinning wide, and Avery followed with a warm nod. Their smiles helped settle the storm in Lindsey’s chest.
“I’m, um… just watching for now,” Lindsey added with a sheepish laugh, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Trying to convince myself I won’t trip over a rock the moment auditions actually start.”
Avery chuckled. Ellie nudged her playfully.
And just like that, Lindsey felt a little less alone—and a little more ready.[/shadow]

Word count: 331 words.Edith held her breath. One vote for her. Two for Hana. One for Tatiana. I won't make the role, she thought sadly. There is just not enough people voting for me. So what? I might get Cinderella, or the Fairy Godmother! She thought dreamily, unfolding the next paper. 𝓔𝓭𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓦𝓪𝓵𝓴𝓮𝓻𝓼, it said in a curly unrecognizable script. Everyone held their breath and peered forward.
"One more vote for Edith Walkers!" said the person who volunteered to count them.
"Votes: Edith - 2. Hana - 2. Tatiana - 1."
Edith's heartbeat quickened. One more vote, and I'll be winning she thought, biting her lip. The others seemed nervous too. Edith unfolded the next piece of paper. She couldn't believe it. 𝔈𝔡𝔦𝔱𝔥 𝔚𝔞𝔩𝔨𝔢𝔯𝔰, it said. I could actually get it! she thought, as the the person added one to Edith.
"Edith - 3. Hana - 2. Tatiana - 1." Edith reached for the next slip. 5 papers left.
𝙴𝚍𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚆𝚊𝚕𝚔𝚎𝚛𝚜. it said too. And the next.
"Edith - 5! Hana - 2. Tatiana - 1." this seemed too good to be true. Indeed, the next one read ƭαƭเαɳα ૮σɳƭ૨αเ૨ε in a fancy script. People who wanted Tatiana cheered.
Edith's fingers trembled as she unfolded the next paper. ε∂เƭɦ ωαℓҡε૨ร it said in a similar style.
"Edith - 6! Hana - 2. Tatiana - 2!" shouted the person. Edith's heart was pumping loudly. There was one final paper left. But whatever it said, she would win. Her ears burned red, unable to believe it. She would win. Everyone craned over the last slip. all wanting to see what it read. 𝔼𝕕𝕚𝕥𝕙. that's what it read. Edith could feel joy inside her. She had gotten the role! 7 to 2!
"And... Edith Walkers is Director!" the person screamed. Edith was lost for words.
"I... thanks, everyone. I promise this will be the best show ever!" she vowed, and she was sure to make it true.
"Now!" she said, clapping her hands. "Let's vote for Co-Director!"

It sure was a pity that her votes weren't enough to be cast as the director, in fact, there was only one person who had voted her at all. But she didn't dare dwell on that matter far too long for they had another vote to cast: the co-director.
Their newly voted director had put Tatiana up as a co-director in terms of having been unvoted for the director, but possibly could take up the role. Together with her were other people who seemed more capable than she was at the very thought of hearing their names.
Darn. People here we're so hard to put up to. They certainly had their own histories, and Tatiana had felt oddly out of place amongst the crowd of these well-known students. What could she compete? After all, she was merely just a pretty face, other than that, she was absolutely useless.
Her heart sank knowing that she had wanted these roles for so long, but perhaps, she would do better in other off-stage roles, or maybe her skill would be found in acting, but who knows? She was told that she was natural in many things, which greatly made Tatiana very vulnerable to back-handed compliments, and she hated it. But somehow, she still couldn't live without it no matter what.
