Slytherin vs Ravenclaw
QUIDDITCH - SLYTHERIN vs RAVENCLAW - FALL 2025
Date: 19th October 2025
Time: 4:30 pm
Weather: Grey skies with harsh wind
Moderator: @Lea Hirsch
The crisp winds from earlier this afternoon had grown, Lea wincing against the sting as she squinted up towards the grey skies. Large clouds threatened rain, yet the ground remained dry for the time being as the teams milled about in preparation with a few already taking to the skies for a warm-up lap. The Hufflepuff scurried up to the moderator's box, still uneasy of brooms despite the title of Quidditch Captain, pacing across its length as she finalized preparations. The last few players returned to the benches.
"Welcome to the start of the year and the start of the quidditch season!" Her smile could be heard, along with a slight shuffle of papers. "We hope you enjoyed the first game and made sure to keep your voice and energy because the excitement and anticipation certainly didn't end there. If you want to take a wild guess as to who is next?" She paused to let screams of the house names echo out, cheers and shouts for what was to come. "SLYTHERIN AND RAVENCLAW! The cunning and the intellect, who will take the cake in this game of brains and brawns? How many will foul, how many will fall?" Lea could guarantee neither of those numbers would be zero, the whistle already in hand. The quidditch players took to the skies, the volume suddenly increasing as students of green and blue faced off across the pitch.
"The only way to know is to see, so! I wish everyone a good match and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!" A sharp whistle blow and the players were off to the races.
This is a spectator thread for the Quidditch Game. 200 words is still the requirement for all threads. Please remember that you are not able to interface with the players on the pitch from a spectator thread.

Although, perhaps due to her scrawny stature, Livia was not inclined to participate in official broom sports – Merlin forbid she be vanquished in front of a crowd – she remained utterly drawn to the way Quidditch was like a puzzle. The chasers were pawns with which a seasoned strategist could play, the Beaters as powerful as queens, the Seeker a glorified King, and the Keeper a rook with a bit more finesse. Once she had begun to see how each piece worked, and understood that the most victorious strategies involved each piece working in tandem, she had delved into learning Quidditch strategy as well as she had that for chess. So far, she had thought herself quite successful, but she doubted some of the older players like Mr Rainwood much appreciated an eleven-year-old correcting them.
It was not as if Livia cared what Mr Rainwood liked or did not like, not if success – her success, their success – relied on it. She commanded the team with Prat and knew she likely came across as a flosculent, somewhat self-important adolescent tyrannising the older students. However, tyranny implied cruelty, and Livia was hardly cruel. She was simply correct. She observed each player during practices, scrutinising each technique and delivering well-intentioned, pointed feedback afterwards. She did not palliate their mistakes – what was the point in that?
The same mindset remained with her when she arrived at the Quidditch stadium at 16:20 sharp. She would not give them a bombastic inspirational speech. If past captains had done such a thing, perhaps that was why the team did not live up to Livia's expectations – they had been coddled, had been left without the truth. She would not even speak to the players unless they purposefully sought her out (feel free to mention her in posts). Instead, she climbed up the stands, ending up with her lungs burning in the crisp air by the end of it, and she sat at the top. With ramrod-straight posture, Livia focused in on the pitch, excited to purvey the scene from a bird's eye view – whatever she noticed the team doing wrong, she would be certain to relay to them later.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw

Every tug seemed bigger than the last as they (well, Percy) dragged this huge sign up into the stands of the Quidditch stadium. When she had been sewing and embroidering it, it really didn't seem like that big a deal. Laying flat the denim had seemed appropriately large enough to convey the confidence, glitz and glamor deserving of her best friend. And while she did consider the weight of fabric in dresses, in signs it seemed less important because of the stick she would fasten to the back.
Alas, it only made it weigh more. So, Maisie had asked the boy from the corridors, who was conveniently a Slytherin, to help her bring it out onto the field. Unfortunately, she only learned on his arrival that Percy's Charms class still hadn't gotten to the levitation charm. So, she'd managed to levitate about half of it while Percy brought up the rear by hand.
"How are you doing back there?" she asked him as they moved up into the bleachers. In truth, she felt like she owed him a butterbeer for bringing this all the way here, or at least a knitted scarf. When she found a good spot high enough up, she turned over to him. "Ready, one, two three," she instructed as they hoisted it up into the air so the words, "Fly, Eagles, Fly," ran across it diagonally in silver sequins, and "Fly on, Avis," read like a subtitle (just marginally smaller) beneath it.
As she caught her breath, she wrapped a hand around the post. "I think we might both need to hold it," she said, wondering if he'd be up for this second favor or if he'd be worried his housemates thought he'd changed sides. She, of course, knew Ravenclaw was the better choice, but she also knew Slytherin pride ran deep. Regardless, she would stay. Raising her head, she started to scan the sky for Avis.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw

Banner by: Maisie Gemmell
Percival’s arms were burning by the time they reached the stands, but he didn’t complain about it at all. He simply adjusted his grip on the pole and looked up at the big blue banner above him. “I’m... fine,” he said between breaths but the strain in his voice made it sound like he wasn't being entirely honest. Still, he laughed a little and shifted the weight against his shoulder to be more comfortable.
“I think I might need to start working out if we’re doing this again.”
He then cast a glance toward the Slytherin section across the pitch. A few of his housemates were already there, so his stomach twisted a little at the thought of what they’d say if they saw him standing under a Ravenclaw sign, holding it up like he was one of them. But when he turned back to Maisie, her face bright with excitement as she scanned th sky for her best friend, he decided it didn’t really matter.
He’d rather be here with her.
“Okay, I'm ready,” he said when she asked. At her count, they lifted it together and showed it off to the entire pitch. The idea alone made him grin, so he excitedly turned to Maisie again, “That looks brilliant, huh?” he asked. “I don’t think anyone could miss it.”
The players were just starting to take their positions, and he could already hear the mix of chants echoing from both sides of the stands. “Do you see her yet?” he asked, squinting toward the blur of robes and broomsticks above.
He smiled again, voice softer this time. “If she spots this, she’ll know she’s got the best supporters in the stadium.”

xxxxxxxx𝔄fter their compulsory duel, Cecilia felt that there was a lingering tension between them, even though her frustration was mostly directed at their professor rather than her. Milica had not said anything outright, but Cecilia feared that it would steep for too long and turn bitter – like tea left steeping in a porcelain pot. Words alone would not suffice, which is why she remained in the spectator stands for Milica’s first Quidditch game. She had enjoyed watching the previous game with Leo, but decided that they would part ways when she spotted Rosaline heading over. A knowing smile played on her lips before she looked back at the boy. “Uh, I promised someone that I would support her, so I’ll have to sit where she can easily spot me,” she blurted out. This was a blatant lie. There was absolutely nothing wrong with their current seats – Milica would have likely noticed her anywhere – but after the events of the ball, Cecilia figured that spending time alone would be beneficial for the two. “Thank you for earlier,” she added, brushing a stray curl from her face. “I’d wish your team luck since you’re a good friend, but given that they’re our opponent, I hope that they suffer a crushing defeat,” she admitted with a smirk. Leo was never one to take her words to heart, so Cecilia appreciated that they could banter in such a manner. “See you later, Noxley,” she waved and picked up her rolled fabric before setting off. Whilst scanning the crowd for another seat, Cecilia recognised two familiar faces from the ball – Maisie and Percy – holding up a Ravenclaw banner. Whoever this Avis was, they were fortunate to have such supportive friends. Still, she could not help but raise a brow at the sight of a fellow snake cheering for their opponent. Perhaps he was there for Maisie or someone else, but she did not know him well enough to settle on a conclusion. Whatever the reason was, it did not matter – she was there to support Milica, not shoot daggers at snakes with fickle loyalty. ────𓃦──── Cecilia diverted her gaze and gripped the fabric as she continued her search. Her eyes then trailed to the top of the stands. Sitting there with impeccable posture was a brunette girl whose bright emerald eyes fixed on the pitch like a hawk. If her memory served correctly, she was one of the Quidditch captains. Judging by her demeanour, this felt like the correct conclusion. Cecilia trusted that if anyone would choose the best seats in the stand, it would be her. With that in mind, she swiftly claimed a seat next to her. “Hello there,” she greeted the girl with a bright smile before placing the dark green fabric on her lap. “Livia, right?” She asked while adjusting the green and silver scarf around her neck. Becoming captain in her first year was an admirable feat in Cecilia’s eyes, but other than that, she knew very little about the girl. Hopefully, that would soon change. “Do you think we can win this?” she asked, her eyes brimming with expectation as she stared intently at the girl. While it would be exciting to see a tense game, she hoped that it would be a clean game if Milica ended up playing. Though she wore a beaming smile, she felt slightly worried. It was almost as though she sought reassurance from Livia. If their captain thought the game would go well, then surely it would. Right? Once the cheering began, Cecilia lowered her gaze to roll the banner out across her lap. A fairly simple yet legible embroidery read ‘Go Milica’. It was nothing grand, for she recalled how her roommate detested attention. Milica would likely chew her out if there was a hint of glitter on the fabric that caught her eye mid-flight. Still, it was an earnest symbol of her support. When Milica acknowledged her with a nod, her eyes lit up as she waved excitedly. She then began smoothing out the banner. Creating it was not particularly difficult, but hiding it from her roommate proved to be rather tricky. She had spent hours hiding out in the library and even attempted to embroider in a tree at one point. There was not much use for it at this point, as Milica was currently benched. However, Cecilia would be ready to fly her banner if her dearest roommate took to the skies. |

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw

NOVALIE MOON! ✩
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
After the Gryffindor versus Hufflepuff match, in which Novalie had spent, without exception, the entire time cheering for Aodhan with a dozen improvised chants, it was now time for the next game: Slytherin against Ravenclaw. And though she was a Ravenclaw herself, the girl didn’t hesitate for even a second to cheer for the snakes - after all, her best friend was playing for them. Her dark green eyes swept across the Quidditch pitch as more and more players took to the air, scanning eagerly for one familiar face when suddenly - “OLLIE!!”, Novalie shouted the instant she spotted the blonde Slytherin drifting upward with effortless grace. Being a Beater suited Oliver perfectly. He was easily one of the strongest people she knew and she just couldn’t wait to see him send Bludgers flying at his opponents! She noticed the broom he was riding, an Silver Arrow, the one engraved with ‘Maybach’ along the handle. Novalie still had no idea who had given it to her back in early October, but that aside, she was more than glad Oliver liked it enough to borrow. Well - of course he liked it! It was fast! Novalie had lots of fun with it herself these last couple of days, trying lots of tricks and racing with it! “Look who I brought!”, she then yelled, waving both arms until she was certain he’d noticed her. Once Novalie had the impression his eyes had landed on her, Novalie’s grin grew impossibly wider. Without hesitation, she pulled Otis - Oliver’s cat - out from under her robe and hoisted him high into the air, like Simba had been held up in the Lion King movie. “Otis came to cheer for you, too! Can you see how excited he is?!” The cat yawned loudly, blinking in drowsy confusion. To Novalie, that was proof enough. Her whole face lit up, eyes sparkling a brighter green, and her hair shifted from its earlier orange to a soft blonde that matched Oliver’s. “We’re cheering for you, my best friend of all time and ever and forever!!! Yeah! Get those birds’ wings!” A few nearby Ravenclaws shot her confused looks, but the girl didn’t notice, or rather, simply chose to ignore them completely. She was already bouncing on her feet as the match began, Otis’s paws held high like tiny pompoms as she launched into a chant, “Uh-huh, uh-huh, you heard it right, Ollie’s gonna win this fight! He’s smart, cool, and crazy strong, One quick move and you’ll be gone! Crowds go wild, they’re shouting wow! Even Otis can’t help but meow!” As if on cue, Otis did meow. “YOU GO, OLLIE!! MAKE ‘EM BLEED, MAKE ‘EM BEG - YOU CAN BREAK ALL THEIR LEGS!” Utterly oblivious to the scandalized gasps around her, Novalie kept right on cheering, not seeing anything wrong with her choice of words and feeding Otis a few treats between verses, never once letting her gaze part from Oliver. She was absolutely certain he’d win - and she made it her own goal that no one in the entire stadium was going to cheer louder than her. |

As much as Livia had expected the team to fall apart just as soon as they had entered the pitch, they had – rather surprisingly – come together into a coherent mass of well-trained snakes. Her eyebrows lifted as she observed each piece of moving strategy coming together seamlessly – so it was false that hard-headed athletes could not listen to reason! They seemed rather successful; in fact, one of their young Chasers seemed to be the star of the show with how swiftly she handled the Quaffle. Eaglewood, correct? Livia would have called out to her in support, but as such a thing could have been rather obnoxious, she refrained.
In her hesitation, Livia had blinded herself to the world around her; her razor-sharp focus upon Slytherin's Quidditch players quickly lessened when a voice brought her out of her stupor. Slowly, her chin turned to point towards the girl who had arrived – a redheaded Slytherin, if her observations were correct. She lifted her eyebrows in acknowledgement. Her gaze caught on the girl's green-and-silver scarf – a lovely touch that suited her complexion. Finally, a small smile graced Livia's features. 'Yes, that's correct,' she affirmed. 'Do forgive me, but I don't believe we have had the pleasure of meeting. Might I ask your name?'
If Livia had heard the girl's comment before the game's commencement, she would have either shaken her head in silent veracity, or she would have offered a glib lie meant to placate any house pride the girl might have had. After the first round, though, the scales of victory had appeared to dip minutely in Slytherin's favour, so the girl paused and thought about the question. Finally, she gave a soft hum. 'Perhaps. I suppose they are a bit more coordinated than I gave them credit for. The odds... they are not perfect, no, but it is certainly possible.' She raised a singular eyebrow at the red-haired girl. 'Is this your first Quidditch game?'
Should the girl not respond immediately, Livia would redirect her attention to the pitch, hoping to analyse further and pick apart places where the team could improve. However, she would remain with one ear angled towards the girl, a gesture she intended to display her desire to listen.

Thankfully, Percy had agreed to stay as he lifted up the sign with her on her count. He seemed happy and excited just as she did. “I don’t think anyone could miss it.” he said. "That's the idea," she replied looking up at it gleefully. Truely, by size alone, this had to be one of her best signs yet.
“Do you see her yet?” Percival asked. And Maisie instantly sat up, peering over as the teams came onto the field. With her free hand, she tucked a stay hair behind her ear as she looked. Everyone always seemed so small on the Quidditch pitch, but—
"—There she is!" she called as she caught sight of Avis' large wave, which Maisie did her best to return, even if it meant the sign wobbled a little. Turning slightly to ensure it hadn't fallen on Percy, she offered him a smile. Because he was right: they were the best supporters in the house.
And yet, that support seemed not to transfer as the Ravenclaw seemed to do...nothing? Slytherin scored an all too easy 50 points meanwhile a strong Ravenclaw beater was went tumbling to the ground below. Maisie swallowed and looked to Percival, confused. "What are they doing?" she asked him. Unsure what else to do, she looked over at him to give him a look so as to hold the sign for a moment as she stood up and cupped her hands, yelling, "GRAB THE QUAFFLE, AVIS! MAKE 'EM FIGHT FOR IT!" Maisie knew it was more than just her best friend. They all seemed scared or something. (And that wasn't completely unreasonable; one of the only Slytherins she knew who wasn't scary was sitting beside her.)
"I don't know what's wrong," she said softly as she fell back into her seat and gripped her half of the sign.

Percival tried to keep his focus on the match, but it wasn’t easy. The crowd was loud, the commentator’s voice was echoing across the pitch, and Slytherin had already scored fifty points before Ravenclaw seemed to even get their footing. He leaned forward a little, brows furrowed as he tried to make sense of what was happening out there.
Then he caught movement from the stands across the field. Other Slytherins were looking right at him, their expressions anything but friendly. They glared his way like he had just committed a serious crime.
Percival’s stomach twisted.
He swallowed hard and straightened his back, pretending not to notice the stares as he turned toward Maisie. She was hopefully too focused on the game to catch just how uncomfortable his fellow students made him feel. But he'd be fine and he had committed himself to being here for his friend.
When she suddenly stood up to shout toward the players, his eyes went wide in surprise for just a moment. She was giving this everything she had, and somehow that made him forget all about the Slytherins long enough to enjoy himself again. So he steadied the sign again and made sure it didn’t wobble too much when she sat back down.
“They can still turn it around,” he said, “It’s just the start of the game. There’s still plenty of time.” He gave her a small grin, hoping it came off as confident. “Besides, I think your yelling might’ve scared them straight.” He chuckled and hoped she wouldn't mind a little joke.
He then glanced up again at the banner and smiled, “It really does look brilliant, though,” he said, “Even if they don’t win, I'm sure they'll appreciate the effort you put into this.” He looked toward the Slytherin students one last time, then back to the pitch. It didn’t matter what anyone thought because he had already made his choice.
He was staying right here.

Gryffindor school robe, red wool scarfThe chilly wind was still blowing. Rosaline sneezed and held her robe tighter. Her first-ever official Quidditch match had just finished. The mixed feelings still lingered in her mind, the coolness after the excitement. She couldn’t put her finger on what exactly this feeling was, so she decided to figure it out later. Today, she was a second-string player; most of the time, she sat on the bench with other second-strings, including Fred, cheering for her first-string teammates.
She changed back to her school robe and wrapped a red scarf around her neck. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to handle the weather and winds on the stands. Heading to the stands, she looked up and could see all four colors of houses on it; they were divided into different areas by houses. Some Gryffindor students still stayed on the stands; some had already left. The cause might be the chilly weather today. Mostly, there were two main colors on the stands, blue and green. The different colors of signs and cheering were everywhere, even now that the game had just started.
Hearing the whistle sounded, symbolizing the opening of the match, Rosaline climbed the stairs, which made creaking sounds beneath her feet. She took too much time to change her clothes before, hoping to make it on time to get to Leo there. Ascending to the stands, she turned her head around to see where Leo and Lucille were. She and Leo made a plan to watch the second match together after she finished hers. During her own game, she had seen them waving the sign they had made and cheering for them. Her heart was filled with warmth because of their support. She couldn’t help but smile when she thought of this.
She kept looking around. There were different belongings of spectators scattered through the seats, a water bottle there, a telescope here. Feeling the buzzing excitement that all the people on the stands shared, the atmosphere was contagious; her spirit rose with theirs. She finally found Leo in the crowd and waved to him, hoping he would notice her. As she made her way to his seat, she wondered where Lucille had gone. In the colorful signs and flags, she noticed a girl with red hair had disappeared in the corner of her eye. Was that Cecilia? She couldn’t be sure, so she shook off the question and kept making her way through the crowd.
Successfully arriving at Leo’s seat, she gave him a wide grin and greeted, “Hey, Leo!” She continued as she sat down beside him, “Thank you for being here. Your cheering gave me so much comfort when I was down there. The first match was stressful for me. But I have you guys here.” Her tone was warm. She smoothed out the robe and adjusted the soft, red scarf. Then, straightening her posture and observing the pitch, she was ready to watch the game, which had already begun.
