A Ravenclaw Ally?
Finally, some time to herself. Sage was excited about this, she finally got to go to the lake and work on her sketches. Her plan was to go on the dock at the very edge and draw everything she saw. Plus, she was hoping to maybe see some of the merpeople she had read about, or even the giant squid that lived in the lake. Walking down the path and getting to the dock, she pulled out her sketchbook and sat down. All she needed now was some music, so she began to hum some Irish lullabies her father sang to her when she was younger.
It was maybe about an hour or two later, and after looking up and down every five seconds and writing with her quill, her sketch was finally done. Hopefully, she could start adding colors later. Sage loved doing art stuff, it helped her stay calm whenever she needed it.
With a soft sigh, she put her sketchbook away back in her back and stood up. She figured it was time for her to head back. As she was walking, she was looking down and was a bit lost in thought. Before she knew it though, she had bumped into someone, knocking both of them down. "Oh my gosh! Are you okay? I'm so sorry, I'm so clumsy and I wasn't paying attention." Sage said and stood up, dusting off her robes and offering a hand to the person she'd bumped into, later seeing it was a girl and a Ravenclaw like her based off of her robes.

A Ravenclaw Ally?
Shae had been walking through the grounds, not paying much attention herself. She pushed her dark hair out of her face, lost in thought. Suddenly, someone had bumped into her and knocked her down. Shae, normally being shy, about went into a panic at the collision, but she regained herself enough to
take in the situation. She took a deep breath to calm herself and looked at the girl, who was apologizing for running into her. She was a Ravenclaw, too. When the girl finished apologizing, Shae smiled at her. "It's fine. I promise." She said, shyly. She had her head down for a moment, finding her book, before picking it up. "I wasn't paying attention either," Shae said before looking up. She then took the girls offered hand. When she was stood up and dusted herself off, she looked at the girl. Shae decided it was time to finally make a friend and figured she might as well start with the girl who knocked her down. She smiled again. "I'm Shae, by the way." Shae gestured to the girl's robes, "I see you're a Ravenclaw, like me." She smiled. "I'm a first year. How about you?" She asked the girl.

A Ravenclaw Ally?
Sage let out a sigh of relief when she said she was fine and helped her up to her feet. "Again I'm really sorry, I should really watch where I'm going." She said and was a bit surprised when she introduced herself, it was the last thing she expected actually.
"Sage Miller, first-year as well, a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad you're in Ravenclaw! I haven't bumped into many of them which is surprising...anyways are you sure you're okay?" She blabbered before she stopped and relaxed herself a bit. She'd been really worried that the girl would get mad but instead, she just seemed really shy, like her sometimes; which she understood.
She pushed her red curls out of her face as a cold breeze blew and she shivered slightly as she looked up at the sky. Then she kept her coat wrapped around her tightly as she looked at her but Sage smiled, trying to show that she wasn't too terribly cold considering she bumped into someone and fell into the snow. "Looks like a storm is coming soon. Anyways, what are you doing out in the cold?" She asked, her cold breath showing as she asked Shae her question.

Shae laughed. "It's nice to meet you, Sage. I promise I'm fine. My sister and I tend to fight roughly." She joked, smiling warmly at Sage. "But, uh, as for your question, I'm out here just wandering. Getting some air." Shae shrugged and hugged her coat around her. "I actually really miss home and I hate being in crowds by myself and I don't have any friends, so I came outside so I didn't feel so overwhelmingly alone with everyone else and their friends." Shae shook her head. "I'm sorry. I tend to babble when I meet new people. That's why I like to keep to myself." She looked down. "Well, I don't like to I guess. I really like having people to talk to, but I tend to scare people off when I babble on about things they don't care about. And I don't even mean to, I just get nervous and out comes all of my thoughts." Shae looked back up. When she spoke, she spoke quickly, it all seeming to come out at once. "Sorry. Long story short, I'm out here in the cold walking because I am homesick." She sighed, feeling herself relax a bit after telling Sage how she felt homesick. "Sorry for babbling at you, Sage."

"It's alright, I babble to, don't worry about it." Sage said with a warm smile and a nervous chuckle as she listened to her talk about being homesick. "I'm homesick too, I miss my sister and my friends. My family isn't too fond of me being a witch since I'm muggle-born you see, so they don't really see me as their daughter anymore, just another mouth to feed when I'm home. Beforehand though they loved me. Anyways, since you don't have any friends, do you want to be my friend? I feel like we can be best friends for how much we talk." She giggled softly and looked at her with her soft blue eyes.
"So where are you from? My father is from Ireland so my parents lived there until I was born and then they moved to London where my mother is from. My mom says I look too much like my dad because of my hair and eyes but I have her curls." She said "I ramble too much I'm sorry if it becomes annoying, just tell me." She smiled at her. She had to admit that Shae was pretty, she'd never seen a girl like her before. Of course, it was only admiration of her physical features because she wishes she was simple and pretty like that. "I like your hair though, it's simple and I wish my hair was simple and straight like that." She complimented, not trying to be weird.

Shae laughed. "Being friends would be great. We're going to need them." She smiled. "But don't worry, I will tell you if you get annoying, as long as you'll do the same for me." She looked down for a minute, then back up. "I'm sorry about your family, though. I can't imagine. Both of my parents have magic, so I can't know what you're going through. I'm from Ireland, too, actually." She said. "My dad is from England and my mom is from France." She shrugged. "It's a pretty interesting story, actually. They met in Ireland and when they got married, they decided to move there." She looked down. "Not that interesting I guess, but the full story might be a bit more interesting but believe me, we don't have time for that." Shae started to walk toward the castle, motioning Sage to come with. "Yeah I like my hair too. It's easy to take care of. Like, I'd love curls, but my sister has hair that's curlier, but it's not super curly either. But she struggles with it so much because curls can get like that." She laughed. "But Saoirse loves her curls. Something about the way my mother hates them." She laughed again.

A Ravenclaw Ally?
"My little sister Delilah loved to play with my curls when she was a baby. She wouldn't pull on, just twist it in her fingers and it would always make me laugh." She smiled softly as she started to follow her. "I hope my little sister ends up being normal. I would hate to see what would happen to her if she was like me. She's just a little ray of sunshine and her smile could brighten anyone's day." She said as she thought of the little redhead running around her. "I miss her, I wish I could see her every day like I used to. I think she misses me too, I wonder what my parents told her when I left. They wouldn't tell her the truth of who I am."
Sage seemed to look sad for a moment as she thought of her little sister who she loved with her whole heart. Maybe she would turn out like her parents and hate her. What she would do right now just to hug the little girl again, hold her tight.
"I'm sorry, I'm just sad because I miss her so much. There's always Summer Break though right?" She said, trying to stay positive. She didn't blame Shae if she thought she was dramatic, but maybe she could relate? She hoped she could because her heart ached for someone to understand things like her.

Shae smiled softly at Sage. "I'm sorry. I'm sure she won't hate you for it. You couldn't control it." Shae looked sad for her. "My family is pureblood. I don't know what it's like. I wish I could." She looked at the ground. "I've known I was a witch all my life. I did grow up in the muggle world. I had a few friends there that don't know where I went off to now. Some fancy school is all they know. They have no idea where and no idea why I went. Some were disappointed I was leaving, but I told them it was because I was too smart for our schools.." She sighed. "That's the only thing I can contribute to this. I'm sorry. I'm probably not helping much" Shae looked up at Sage. "But you're going to do amazing things and be an amazing witch. I'm sure of it." She smiled brightly, trying to cheer Sage up. "Have you learned any spells yet?" She asked excitedly. "I have a bit, but not much." She stopped and looked at Sage. "You're a Ravenclaw. I'm sure you knot a ton of new stuff already!" She smiled again, her eyes shining with excitement.

"I haven't learned any spells yet, but I'm eager to. Thanks for the encouragement Shae, I needed it." She smiled at her and hugged her briefly before she continued to walk. She had to keep her head up and keep going. She couldn't afford to become sad and depressed. No, she had to keep going, if not for herself then for her sister.
"So what would you like to do? I haven't seen the entire castle yet, perhaps we could explore a bit?" She suggested. She had a feeling that Shae knew her way around the castle better than herself and so she was willing to walk around with her. Plus, after the encouragement she gave her, she wanted to hang out with her a bit longer. Which would be easy since they were in the same house, which she was grateful for.
Even then though there would have to be times where she needed to be by herself, but she figured now wasn't the best time since she couldn't stop thinking about her sister. Maybe if she was lucky she could meet a Delilah here and they could become friends. Sage had so many stories to tell about her sister.

A Ravenclaw Ally?
Shae smiled, "No problem!" She laughed. "We all need a boost of encouragement at times." She looked toward the castle. "As for what to do, I'm not sure. Well, we could do anything. I haven't wandered too much yet. I tend to stick to places I know." Dropping her smile, she bit her lip, deep in thought. Her eye color began to shift as she thought about what to do. She's a metamorphmagus and doesn't have any control over her changes yet, so sometimes her appearance will make small changes with her emotions. She looked around. "I mean we could wander together. See what we can find!" Shae smiled at her. "That could be fun." Her eyes were brown as she smiled at Sage. "I mean, there's always something to do!" She looked toward the castle, thinking about what her father had told her there was to do at Hogwarts. She tried to think of what they could do that wouldn't get them into trouble before looking back at Sage and saying, "Or if you wanted we could just go back to Ravenclaw and stay out of trouble. Either way, I'm down." She gave Sage a smile and laughed a bit.
