Speech -- Thoughts

Adora.

A name had been attached to one face, that only left panda girl, who was yet to give them hers.

The younger girl had picked up another color pallette similar to hers, although Pam guessed that one wasn't eyeshadow too. She tilted her head towards Panda girl, vaguely wondering what shades would look nice with her honey-colored curls. She wasn't really sure. Her color theory wasn't always very good.

A shining shade of blue drew her attention though, and Pam couldn't help but check it out, dabbing a tiny spot onto her hand, keeping it small mainly because she wasn't sure it was alright to put it on her hand. It was nice, she thought, although it probably wouldn't go well with her blonde. It was hard to tell.

Panda girl's words drew Pam's attention to her. She had a large peach-colored blob on her cheek, appearing much, much lighter than the other side. That was probably foundation, Pam guessed. "I believe you're supposed to mix it into your skin." Pam blurted, stepping over to the girl.

Her theory was perfect, if she was being honest. She had done a lot of research on make-up and knew most of the theoretical stuff. The problem came with the practical. She'd never actually used make-up before.

Well, an opportunity to learn had presented itself to her.

Adora watched woth curiosity as she watched Handkerchief Girl mixed the nude-toned liquid onto Makeup Girl's face. It blended and smoothed perfectly to match her fair skin. Adora started digging excitedly through the bag of makeup for a shade that matched her. She found a round, gold palate that was a little larger than her palm. She opened it, and inside was a brown darker than her skin. Tapping it on the inside of her arm, she coughedwhen the dust blew up into her face, stinging her nose. When she looked back up. She noticed Makeup Girl's face looked nearly flawless because of Handkerchief Girl's help. Adora saw an opportunity to try makeup on something other than her arm. She picked up the blue palatte Handkerchief Girl had before, and walked over to the two girls, holding a smaller, round brush. "I have an Idea for your eyes, I think this blue would look beautiful on you." she said, dounding way more confident than she had planned. She carefully held the pallette up to Makeup Girl's eye level, and studied which blue would mathc her eye color. Hmm. This shade should work. She thought, eyeing a soft baby-blue square. She poked it with her brush, and remembered to tap it against the edge. "Do you mind if I try it out?" She inquired, holding the brush.

Nova was rather exasperated at this point. Her face still had that rather sickly look to it, and she leaned down towards the sink, turning on the tap of water. It was quiet for a few moments as she scrubbed her cheek vigorously before finally straightening up and turning around. The blonde haired girl seemed to be poking around her makeup bag still, a look of concentration plastered on her face.

When she mentioned actually blending the powder, Nova felt slightly sheepish and nodded quickly. "Right, so maybe I should've waited for a bit longer." She turned and carefully applied a smaller amount of the same foundation, glancing back at the girl. "Do you mind doing it? I don't think it'd be as good if it spreads all over my face." She stilled, smiling at the blonde haired girl. "Oh, I never got your name, by the way. I'm Nova."

The brush on her face was gentle, smoothly and carefully blending out the foundation on Nova's face. The blonde haired girl seemed to be more experienced than she let on, and Nova smiled once she finished. Turning to look in the mirror, her eyes widened at the nearly perfect blend.

"Wow, this is great!" She murmured, examining it more closely. The younger girl, Adora, as she had said, walked up and asked to do her eyes with a soft, baby blue shade that lay in her hand. Nova grinned, nodding as she responded. "Sure, just don't poke my eye out."

Speech -- Thoughts

Pam was, to her own mild astonishment, doing a rather decent job.

As someone who had never touched makeup before, she had expected some sort of a disaster — streaky foundation, awkward smudges, maybe even an accidental poke in the eye. Yet somehow, the brush obeyed her, gliding across the other girl’s skin in mostly even strokes. She wasn’t entirely sure if that was skill or luck, but she wasn't about to start questioning it.

Luck was rarely ever on her side, so she was going to take full advantage.

The girl sat still and patient under her touch, which definitely helped the situation. Pam had a sneaking suspicion she’d pressed the brush way too hard into her face a couple of times, but since there were no complaints (and no flinches, miraculously), she assumed it wasn’t fatal.

When she finally stepped back to look, she almost felt proud. “Well,” Pam muttered, more to herself than to the girl, tilting her head, “you don’t look like a panda anymore.” Would she be Panda girl if she doesn't look like a panda though? Well, who knows.

The name exchange had finally progressed. Panda girl, (growing out of the name would take a while, it seemed), introduced herself as Nova (Is that a nickname for something?) and Pam responded to it with her own, "Mine's Pamela. Nice to meet you guys."

Pam turned toward the mirror to check the results again, just as Nova did the same. Panda girl mumbled something Pam couldn't catch very well, but from the relieved glint in her eye, Pam had to guess it was a good reaction. The blonde-haired girl let out a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding, the kind that came with quiet satisfaction.

"Well, I'm glad you like it."

'Nova' had a bright, friendly smile, and Pam found herself smiling back at the girl, wiping her fingers on a napkin as the other moved on to sit in front of the next person— Adora as she had called herself, preparing for her next round of transformation: eyeshadow.

That was when Pam noticed it properly. The way the light hit the girl’s face now — clean, bright, almost ethereal. She hadn’t seen it before, not through the exhaustion and smudged eyes. The girl was actually… really pretty.

Pam blinked, caught off guard by the thought. It wasn’t jealousy, not really. Just quiet surprise — at how much a little color and care could change someone, could pull out something hidden beneath tiredness and routine.

Pam settled at the back, preparing to watch Adora work the blue on Nova's eyes as she sifted through the variety of lipsticks in the bag, a deep, almost nude shade catching her attention, Oh my, how pretty.

Adora lightly began to dab the baby-blue powder over Makeup Girl's eyelid. It did complement her skin tone, though it was still really light. There was also a darker, glittery shade on the palate, and Adora thought she might use that to bring the blue out.
Adora found, very quickly, that a little powder goes a long way. The soft blue she was using, as light a it was, was also pigmented very well, and once finished, Adora could see the shade a lot better than before. She definitely wouldn't need the darker, glittery shade anymore.
Adora hummed a little as she worked on Makeup Girl's other eye. Adora had heard Handkerchief Girl and Makeup Girl introducing themselves just before she began, but hadn't really heard their names properly. Makeup Girl's was.. Norah, maybe? She had definitely heard an 'N' and an 'O' at the beginning of her name. Handkerchief Girls.. now, Adora couldn't remember that one, she'd have to ask again. Although, Adora maybe could have heard Vanilla? It could certainly be a nickname that Makeup Girl preferred to go by, and it made sense looking at her hair. Either way, she would probably have to ask for their names.
Adora finished Norah's other eye, and, to her annoyance, realized that the coating on either side was uneven. She had coated the girl's right eye more than the left, which was the one that she had started on. So, she went at the girl's lft eye again, only very lightly, so as to avoid the left being more pigmented than the right. Adora finished, and looked at her handiwork. She had gotten the two shades as close to evenly pigmented as she thought she could. So, she set the palate down onto the counter and turned Norah to the mirror. "So, Norah, do you like it?"
