The Drowned Palace

GROUP 5
@Jerry Brown,@Ada Hawkins,@Akerrah Kone,@Ruby Diumme,@Anna Blackberry,@Pyce Rotanski
The small hall is split into a maze of smaller rooms, their doors lie every few feet, labelled with the number of the group meant to be in it. Each member who had found the place would find their name on a large whiteboard near the entrance to the hall, their name corresponding to their room number. If they tried to enter the wrong room, they would find the door to be locked, and only their door would open to them.
The door slides shut as the last member of your crew steps in. A sudden darkness takes possession of your every step, and your eyes need a few seconds to adjust. Slowly, some features are revealed to you. Some forms and shapes of what seem to be the outline of various furnitures lies ahead, yet the light doesn't allow you to fully see them. A green-ish glow casts itself over the room, and after a few moments, you manage to locate its source. Algae filaments ornate the cobbled stone walls, and if you squint, you could almost swear they're forming.... words? Along another wall lies algae in strange patterns.A low humming is heard from every corner of the room, and softly, a voice is singing an unknown song.____ ___ ______, ____ ____ __ ______,
___ ________ ____—___ __ __ ___.It's tone is deep, slow, and shivers start running down your spine. A strong sensation takes place within your stomach, and your eyelids grow heavier and heavier. Suddenly, it stops abruptly, and silence rises. It seems to be... waiting for something...listening for something? After a minute, a loud sigh is heard, and the song begins again.Come seek us where the torches glow,
Within the castle, far below.
Where shadows feasts and silence calls,
Not great, but lesser halls.
Pearls and gold awaits inside,
Treasure torn from those who died...

OOC NOTESReducio- Intended deadline and Mod Post and Rolls: Saturday (in theory)
-Your moderators have lives and there are a lot of you, so please be patient
- Post at least ONCE per round
- Please follow site rules and ratings
- 200+ wc minimum
-Please enter all objects/inventory you may have in your first post.
-Add your action at the bottom, and if you could add stats and abilities we would appreciate it
-Walking around the room and talking are free actions.
-While it may be fun to read through other people's rooms, they may figure out clues before you so we ask that you refrain until the end, or be cautious of metagaming. If there is a very obvious metagaming, you may find your action backfiring quite spectacularly
THE ENCHANTED DEPTHSReducioAs you have certainly understood, there are three different threads. To participate, you must be indexed. If you are not indexed yet, please apply here. Your character does not need to post in a thread to access another, all are free of access. IC speaking, your character would enter through The Lost Pearl to reach The Weeping Shore. The location of The Drowned Palace, as well as an additional clue to the treasure hunt, are hidden in The Lost Pearl. Your character doesn't need either to access or play the game, these are options adding to the atmosphere.
⚓︎ THE LOST PEARL — is a boat, where you will be able to wine and dine.
⚓︎ THE WEEPING SHORE — is platforms resting on water, in the middle of the Great Lake, where you will be able to dance your heart out.
⚓︎ THE DROWNED PALACE — is an escape game....you are here.

Akerrah did not know really what to do or expect at something like this: a ball. It seemed like something out of a fairy tale. She wore a simple black dress well pressed. Surely, there were fancier frocks about, but her family could never afford anything remotely like that. She thought about her father's taxi cab as she had stood on the stairs overlooking a crowd that she suspected had no idea what a taxi even was.
And now, she'd walk into this room with even more people she did not know and have to try to work with them. She hoped they were nice. So far, she didn't know too much about the English.
The room was dark, very dark. It was not a feeling she particularly liked, and she knew she had no flash light except her wand—oh, yes, that spell from last year. But then a thin green light spread over the space. And then—
words—
—in English.
"*Merde," she let out. Squinting and reading it at least three times over, she could deduce this was a riddle in English. Merde, indeed. There was no way she would ever figure this out. She looked around to see if one her companions might have an idea. In the absence of one, she'd reach and touch one of letters in case that did anything.
*Shit

The Maze like corridors and hallways were all quite confusing, and Ada almost got lost at least twice before she found the room with a glistening number five. An escape room, how exiting! Ada though. Though she was quite nervous, she tried to look confident as she pushed open the wooden door to room five.
The room was dimer then the hallway and she had to wait for her eyes to adjust before stepping farther into the room. Two girls were in the room already. "Lumos" Ada said softly under her breath. her wand tip ignited, casting a soft glow over the floor.
"Um, hi." Ada said awkwardly waving with her free hand. Both of the girls looked older than her by at least a year which made her feel twice as uncomfortable. One of the girls was smiling which eased her nerves slightly.
"So...your my teammates?" Ada said, half as a statement, half as a question. Her usual confidence with words had seemed to just vanish. A soft green glow on the wall distracted Ada from her conversation. A low quiet humming from the corner of the room, sending an eerie shiver down her spine. It sounded like some sort of code or riddle.
"Do either of you know what that means?"

The room was lit up in light. Enough to show the room they were crammed into quite clearly. Nonetheless, @Ada Hawkins would find her wand lighting up brightly illuminating everything around her. This allowed the group to see more details such as the door they came through now faded and almost "hidden" in the wall. There was no leaving for now. After all this was an escape room, all that they had to do could be found here.It would just take a few trial and error and a bit of luck as well it seemed.MOD POST - GROUP 5
While the light shone on everything, the algae seemed to shrink from it, sliding back and blending into the foliage of the wall. Whatever semblance of "words" that were not even clear as to what they were before, were now even less so. No, this algae thrived in darkness. Something that could be especially noticable once someone was not paying too much attention to the words of the song due to not understanding English as well, and instead focused on their surroundings (@Akerrah Koné - that is not to say anyone else won't notice, this is noticable to EVERYONE in the room as of now.)
Note:Casting a spell is considered your action. This is a moderated event, please do not assume your succes, no matter how likely it is.
Note 2: I am aware this is a bit early given that the thread opened on Tuesday and I apologize for that, but this was done as to then keep on track with the every Saturday mod post schedule as much as possible. (as during the week it is less likely I'll be able to get the mod posts done)

Pyce was not having the best time, if they were being honest. Originally, when they saw the flyer for the fall ball, their first thought was that they were going to get a quiet night in their common room.
But no. Come October 4th, Pyce had been forcibly dressed up by their overly excited twin and pulled into the festivities. Of all themes, Pyce would have rathered anything that wasn't aquatic, but they at least found amusement in the name of the thing. The Enchanted Depths. The name made Pyce think of their favorite movie, and it was the only distraction Pyce had from being surrounded by so. Much. Water.
Despite this being Hecate's idea, Pyce had wound up on their lonesome, wandering around and trying not to think too hard about where they were. At the very least, Hecate had the good nature to sign Pyce up for an escape room, something that was greatly appreciated.
So Pyce was in a room with complete strangers. They observed the room quietly, fiddling with a card in their pocket. It had been handed to them earlier, back when they boarded the ship, but they had been too queasy to try and read it. And now, they were too distracted by the haunting song floating through the air, as well as the general darkness of the room. For the first time since this ball had began, Pyce finally felt like they could relax.

The British were cold. Despite an overly excited hello and several queries about whether these people were in fact team mates, no one had dropped a name or a spell or even a clue as to what to do. She just looked around at them, shoulders shrugged, disappointed. She shook her head for she knew no more than they did.
She just stared at the words, hoping sheer persistence would change something. Of course, it did not. But if she couldn't focus on the letters, she found her mind honing in on the algae itself. It was heavy and dark. And it seemed to simply love it here—except when the light from one of the girl's spells shone closer. It took a few seconds for it to click in her head, but once she had, it was clear as day: they needed more light. A second Lumos was easy enough, but she'd learned something recently even stronger: "Lumos Solem."
And she stepped back slightly, awaiting the full concentrated power of the sun to burst forth, hopefully providing some answers. And ideally, it wouldn't yet blind them either. "This might be—how do you say?—bright?" she addressed them all as she waited for the spell to erupt from her wand. Her spells had never been particularly powerful, but she felt it best to prepare them in any case. And maybe it might grant them some information too.

Aside from Ada Hawkins' earlier Lumos (that is still ongoing), apparently someone wanted to cast an even bigger light, as @Akerrah Koné succeeded quite a bit with that. The algae would shriek if they could honestly as they retreated more, and the layer of them covering the words were almost not visible anymore at all, making the earlier "gaps" for words even less visible.MOD POST - GROUP 5
It was clear by now, hopefully at least, that light was not the way to go. If anything, the algae were trying to make it quite clear, enchanted or not, that whatever this "environment" was, they preferred to be back in the lake by now, most likely.
Still, the light only illuminated the whole place once more, even more powerful than before, and yet they would find that the clues were not really in the furniture, ceiling, walls, floor, or really anywhere in the room, at least not with how the whole room was bathed in light now.
Well, no time like today to either do some small talk in a fully lit room, or try to figure out another way to coerce the algae to work alongside them, unless they had any other ideas to sort this puzzle out?
