Valentine's Tea
Interacting with:@ Griseldis Edelhardt @ Ruka Tân @ Jack Burnett
Mentioning: @ Persephone Barret @ Alan Vanes @ Quinn Healy
Everything all seemed to happen at once. Just like the ball the year before all it took was once spark to set it all off. Alan, unable to greet Alan Vanes and Ruka Tan as the Slytherin girl showed up out of nowhere. Persephone Barret, although not knowing who she was the young lad knew by looking at her was one of those textbook bullies who used to pick on him when he was in a muggle school.
Everything as said before went so quick Alan Noble barely had time to react as he watched Persephone to who he now dubbed as 'Feral Witch'. The Slytherin girl ripped the teacup out of the boy Ruka's hand and pulled his hair following up by slamming the poor lads face into the table. causing Alan to jolt and yell "What the hell is wrong with you!" He was growing just as furious as his friend Griseldis as he's seen enough of this harassment before especially the ones that involved physical attacks. Seeing Jack grow enraged part of Alan wanted to stop him knowing he physically could not stop the raging boy. Yet Alan attempted to stop the situation only to have the large half-giant of a prefect step in any way causing the Ravenclaw boy to pause being cut off mid-sentence "Kid stop! It's no-" feeling an extra set of hands would make the situation worse and that it is considered handled. Alan backed away as he returned to Gris. All that was going through Alan's mind 'Why does everything turn out like this can't we ask for a simple relaxing day.'
Alan forgets that Griseldis had handed the rose back in his furious stares at the Slytherin girl now hindered by the half-giant. The rose became crushed in his hands. A gasp escaped his mouth at what he has done. Returning to check up on Gris and Ruka he held up the broken rose and then looked to his friend shaken, but his annoyance is seen in his tone as well as a body language "Is he going to be ok Gris? need some help taking him to the Hospital Wing?" Looking back over at Persephone he gritted his teeth "I uh accidentally broke your gift Gris." Alan seemed a lot less stuttery when he was angry, holding up the crushed flower. Discarding the plant he moved to grab more napkins offering it to help wipe the blood of Ruka "I really hope that Feral witch gets what she deserves, ruining a day like this" Clenching his fist he kneeled on the opposite side of Ruka. Alan helped by cleaning off bits of the dripping blood that Gris missed or didn't see. Alan having wished he stepped in sooner or saw it quicker himself. Alan despises bullies as his expression is quite evident when looking at Persephone.

Mentioning: @Nico Shymane
The auburn haired girl, whom the young Slytherin had never directly interacted with before today, made her hasty retreat from the small hall, the only trace of her left being the shards of the cup, Persy’s widening grin, and the inevitable trauma that had ensued for all involved parties. This reminder of victory left Persy distracted enough for her to thoroughly ignore Jack’s response to her earlier inquiry. If she had paid the boy more attention, perhaps her response would’ve eased the atmosphere, preventing the following events, which happened in overwhelmingly quick succession. Regardless of this chance, the blonde had been deaf to his early accusations in regards to her having no reason to attack the two students.
Although it probably would’ve been preferable to everyone for Persephone to remain in this dazed state, enthralled by the workings of her own mind, Jack’s attempts at psychiatry tore her away from the condition of ignorance. Burnett, who stood behind her, only slightly visible by peripheral vision, spoke knowingly, explaining Persy’s individual actions as if he had stood beside her along the way as she’d cheerfully narrated.
“She’s been trying to get people to acknowledge her…”
Her hands, somehow still quivering tensely, ached to punch the boy, make him feel the pain of his words and what they had set upon her. Willing herself to remain still, the boy continued to lecture against what should be his better judgement. Persephone knew bringing him harm would only validate his claims, assuring him that he had touched her nerves once again. Her mind wandered aimlessly back to her previous justification, how accurate his ideas may or may not have been, but she yanked it back to reality. Consciously, Persy was aware that time was scarce and none could be spared for pondering her motives, between the surrounding prefects and the detention that loomed so obviously over her head. The prefects, plus Jack, eyed her like a predator to its prey, unaware that they were all ignorant to the most important fact of the matter.
Persephone was the predator.
Instead of choking him, the blonde scoffed and rolled her eyes. “When did you get your degree in psychiatry, Burnett? I’m rather impressed by your ability to ignore what’s right in front of you. Prouvant encore une fois votre stupidité.” French: Once again proving your stupidity.
In response to Jack’s speech, the other prefect, who’d accompanied the half-giant, went off on a ramble in an attempt at kindness. This contrasted the approach of the larger one, his eyes clouded with annoyance and some brand of anger that repeatedly flashed in and out, something Persephone felt rather connected to. However, it was apparent that the rather pretty Slytherin’s attempt at consolation would be in vain, as Persy had already succumbed to the frustration of the situation.
Regardless, maybe she would remember the girl’s offer later, after she would rudely dismiss her for even thinking about believing in Burnett’s justification.
A millisecond before Persephone opened her mouth, however, Jack interrupted her with a deafening yell that sent her ears ringing once again, her white, trembling hand shooting up to her ear, as if to protect it from the harshness of his cry. Bracing herself for the impact that she had no time to thoroughly prepare for, Persy instead began to ponder her action of defense. When pushed to the cold floor, would she go for his face? Or perhaps, his abdomen, where she was hoping he was already wounded?
This moment of action would not come, and this was obvious when the large prefect stepped between them, palms out to counter Jack’s attack. In an instant of stupidity, Persy considered cackling, her grin only widening at his failed attempt to defend his friends. What had the boy been thinking? Although the red-head had indisputable height on Persephone, she had been defending herself for much longer than she imagined he had.
Her amusement, though obvious to an outsider, was only skin deep. Her heart pounded against her chest, the sound of it cracking her skeleton loud in her ears. The trembling that had remained with her hands had now become full-blown shaking, her pale fingers curling in as she lost control of them, the tension in her body becoming her only means of defense.
The half-giant prefect lifted Jack into the air, their heights matched which placed the Slytherin a well three feet off the floor. The moment was short lived though, as the giant immediately turned to place his hands on both of their shoulders after issuing Jack with a rather intimidating warning. The sheer weight of his palm felt crushing to her frail bones, causing her to yelp slightly at the sensation.
But this wouldn’t stop her. The punishment that was dangled over her was unavoidable, and one more crime wouldn’t change much. The hospital wing was rather cozy anyway.
Persephone turned, her neck popping at the angle, and bit Quinn’s hand.

Perhaps the small, rational subconscious left of Jack's mind under all the red was still able to function to some degree - enough to hope that if he acted right in front of the very capable prefects, the would stop him before he could do anything unforgivable. Fortunately for Jack, Quinn didn't disappoint. The shorter redhead felt the wind forced out of his lungs as he slammed straight into the Hufflepuff's large hand.
It hadn't been the first time the Slytherin had been grabbed and picked up by the front of his shirt, but that didn't mean he liked it anymore. The boy fell limp in Quinn's grip, his narrowed eyes angry, red, stinging, and leaking when he was forced to meet the third-year's gaze. With a shuddering breath, he squeezed his eyes shut and looked away, embarrassed and angry and full of pain that he knew he had no business taking out on Quinn.
Instead, he let the Hufflepuff's berating words crash and flow over him like waves on sand. Also like sand, his sharp edges and angry points began to smooth out as his fury began to ebb, leaving only misery in its wake. He bent his head in defeat like a broken doll, the better to hide the hot trails of saltwater that spilled across his face.
The sturdy strength of Quinn's grip was reassuring somehow, even despite the pain. Perhaps because of it. It was good to know someone was there to forcibly yank him back to reality if he lost sight of himself again. After all, the only person who he thought might have been able to do it without force was too injured to at the moment. As the half-giant squeezed his shoulder when they drew closer to the blonde, Jack jerked his head up, wincing at the painful pressure, but enduring what he knew he deserved without a sound.
Dull-eyed and fatigued after his outburst of anguish, the Slytherin listened to Quinn's commands in obedient compliance. It was a good thing the Hufflepuff prefect hadn't been asking a question because Jack didn't think he would have had the strength or will to answer. He was barely able to register that Persephone was at it again when she chose, defyingly, to try to bite her captor.

"Hope you don't mind, but this table seemed pretty relaxed compared to that." Ginny looked up to see a black-haired boy pulling a chair across her. She was honestly surprised that someone decided to sit on the same table as she was, let alone politely asking her beforehand. As long as she could remember, the only time a stranger did that to her was in a terribly crowded cafe - solely because that man wanted somewhere to sit and shelter himself from the rain outside.
The green-eyed boy across her offered a small but polite smile, so Ginny quickly smiled back. "No, of course not," she answered his request, gesturing for him to sit.
After the boy had sat down, Ginny glanced at him. The blonde girl figured that she had better said something before awkwardness settled in; but really, Ginny had no idea which was better to do first - making a small talk about the tea party, commenting on the room's decoration, introducing herself, or asking the boy to introduce himself.
At the end, she chose the third, followed by the very first option.
"Um, hi," she began. "I'm - I'm Ginny Tsuchiya from Hufflepuff. First grade." And then, "I heard Professor Bercegeay advertise this party and decided last minute to come, so I... don't really know anyone here. (Okay, save for a fellow Hufflepuff, but we didn't come together and she also doesn't seem to notice me when I entered.) Are you coming alone, too? Or will your friends catch up with you later?"

mentions: @Jack Burnett, @Opeila Seilun & @Nico ShymaneAlan at this point was just able to watch on the drama that displayed right in front of him. The fedora boy took off his hat, showing off a face that ironically resembled Ruka's, yet there were some differences. Especially when it came to the color of hair and eyes, but also the details of his face differed is what he noticed, when he glanced back at Ruka wordlessly. Jack placed his fedora on top of his lap and stormed off to tackle the girl, who had just hurt the younger Gryffindor next to Alan.
But his attention was quickly divided again when not only Gris, but also the kid that shared his name seemed to leaned over him to get to Ruka and frantically seemed to try and wipe off the blood with the napkins. Which was bad, very bad. From the amounts of wounds Alan had in the short duration of his time, he knew that you were not supposed to use napkins or tissues to wipe off blood. Something about germs and the fabric sticking to the wound is what his mother always lectured him about.
"U-uhhhh... G-Gris uhhh can you m-move so that I can get him to the hospital wing?", Alan murmured, as he glanced over at the female Gryffindor with nervous smile. He glanced over to Quinn and Nico, who seemed to be handling the situation, but Jack was there in the air and Alan's eyes widened slightly. He never has seen Quinn act anything like this, he has always been so nice, but he assumed it was his job as prefect to step in like this. But it just made Alan wonder what else he did not know about the half giant and admittedly he felt bad for the Slytherin that was being held up into the air, he looked defeated and Alan was sure he could see streaks of tears glittering on the pale cheeks; even though that could just be the reflection of the light in the room.
"Come on, Ruka, you need to get this checked out...", he mumbled still nervous, as he stood up from his place on the bench next to Ruka and offered him his hand, to help the smaller boy stand up as well, if he chose to do so. He clearly looked like the impact made him feel dizzy and the third year worried that the injury might actually be bad. He did not want the younger student to pass out, but for that he needed him to be checked out. Alan turned his head to Quinn, "I-... I will bring Ruka and O-...Opeila to the hospital w-wing...", he quickly told the prefect with a strained smile, as he waited for some sort of reaction by Ruka, as he nodded at Opeila, hoping she was okay, as she seemed to be limping. What happened to her? Has she stubbed her toe against a table? Twisted her ankle in some unpleasant way? It did seem as if it was painful, but Alan had no idea what has happened to her. He then shook his head, pulling himself away from those thoughts as he focused his attention back on the injured Ruka, all that was not important at the moment... important was, that they would get out of this mess and as quickly as possible.

Valentine's Tea
She didn’t know if the girl had bought her lie or if she was just being polite. At least, she hadn’t rejected her. Xailah served her some tea and the cat started acting weird: he was just standing there, staring at Violine with his little cunning eyes… The older girl asked her about her friends but Violine just mumbled back and thanked her for the tea, unable to focus. Besides, she had nothing to say about her non-existing friends.
And then the worst thing happened. Well, almost the worst thing, because Evelynn getting burnt was actually the worst. Xailah responded to the other’s girl call for help and she left her all alone… with the cat.
“Keep an eye on…?” Violine asked, just to make sure she had heard well, but Xailah had already gone… taking the teapot with her.
Yet, Violine didn’t even pay attention to this strange gesture. The cat let out a bloodcurdling mew and she felt as if she was going to faint, which she thought would have been a better fate. She would have had an excuse not to “keep an eye” on the cat. Was she kidding? Was it a joke? Why, WHY had she sat down at this table? The one table, on which was standing the most frightening beast of all kinds… And now she had to keep an eye on it? She could if the creature didn’t eat her first.
She wondered if cats could actually kill humans. Or eat them. Her mother had told her many times that cats, dogs, bowtruckles, nifflers and other such creatures were not dangerous, but it had been in vain. Ever since Violine had read about the countless deadly animals, insects and even plants, which dwelt in Australia… she had developed this uncontrollable fear of all non-humanish creatures. To the point that she was wondering how she could have been sorted into Gryffindor.
But, regarding the cats for instance, what purpose could their fangs and claws serve, other than digging into the flesh? And who could know for sure that her father hadn’t just been eaten by some wild creature (magical or not) in the outback?
She looked at the cat who was still staring at her, sniffing… what? Her delicious smell? He seemed to come closer and closer to her. And Xailah was still away. At one point, the little lion tried to move slightly away from the animal, but Schrödinger got up and… stretched. She shot him a black look, aware that he was playing with her… Just like a predator with his prey.
“You aren’t going to eat me, are you?” she asked.
Her voice was quivering, more than she had wanted it to. Her hands were trembling and she put her cup down before she spilt any tea. One girl had already been burnt, it wasn’t the time for any more drama. For the first time, she felt like praying. She hoped that Xailah would come back soon. Even though something in her eyes made her feel uncomfortable, she liked to think that she wouldn’t let her cat eat her in front of everybody.
Only then did the following thought occur to her: she maybe should have told the girl she was afraid of animals...

Valentine's Tea
Interacting with @Quinn Healy, @Jack Burnett, @Persephone Barret
Abilities : Lovely CreatureThe Slytherin Prefect didn't get much of a chance to wait for Persephones response. Jack Burnett couldn't take much more of the crap that this girl was spitting at him. At first, his movements were calm and collected. He handed her his shades that were more her size then Quinns rather clumsy, heartshaped ones. She gently held them in the palm of her hands... Yet she felt like something was off. Her gut was right. Seconds later, the Slytherin tried to launch himself at Persephone, full of rage. His emotions no longer in check. Nico nearly tried to grab him by his arm but she didn't have to. Quinn was faster.
The Half-Giant had been eyeing both Persephone and Jack the entire time the dhampir was trying to reason with the blonde. He already sensed this wouldn't go as smooth as they wanted to. Quinn only partially used a small amount of his strenght but it was incredible. Up close, Nico could hear how Jack ran straight into the palms of the Hufflepuff. The air getting forced out of his lungs upon impact.
Quinns movements were fast but under control. Like a big machine. Her fantasies about him breaking a treetrunk in half with ease weren't too far off from reality after all.
Amazing. She thought.
Just like she once experienced, in a way more gentler way, Jack got picked up and dangled eye to eye with the Ginger Giant. Nico couldn't help but stare in awe for the entire time he moved. She had never seen him like this before. However, Quinn apologised for his actions, yet she knew there was no other way left to handle the situation. These kids needed a serious time out and they were going to make that clear to them. It saddened her a little. Her attempts to be a nice Prefect weren't of any use here. Nico didn't like to scream or yell. Not even raise her voice. She didn't have to since Quinn already did enough of that.
When he put Jack down -- firmly held his and Persephones shoulders tight in his grip -- Nico sighed softly rubbing a hand over her forhead. This could've gone easier. There had to be more going on than what they saw on the surface. Persephone had hurt ... three students? In a timespan of less than 10 minutes? If not less...
As Quinn gave them the preach of a lifetime, Nico slid Jacks shades onto her eyes. They were pleasant. Not as goofy as Quinns heartshaped goggles, but atleast they stayed on her face. The dhampir didn't need to slide it up the bridge of her nose every few seconds...
"Now I may not know all of the details, but let's be clear. No one and I mean NO one else will be getting hurt here. I do not care if you hate me. But you will not cause anymore damage then you already have. You will stop this and you will come with us to face your punishment. Is. That. Clear."
That should be enough right? Would they give up? Nico eyed at Jack who had his head hung low. He realised he went in the wrong and it wasn't right to just throw yourself at someone. It wasn't going to fix anything. The redhead felt sorry for him. He was brave and wanted to stand up for his friends. It truly warmed her heart. What a boy...
Her iceblue eyes, hidden behind the shades slid over to watch Percey. Her face didn't show any remorse. It was like a ticking time bomb wearing a blonde wig. What was going on in this girls he-
Chomp.
What... in the actual... fuck. Did she truly just bite Quinns hand? Was she truly never going to quit? Really? Nico didn't know why but she felt disgusted. She felt frustrated. What did this girls possibly want? Being nice - didn't help. Being angry -- didn't help. In whichever way Quinn would react, the dhampir set a few steps closer, standing infront of Persephone. Seeing how agressive she was towards everyone around her, Nico wasn't going to take any chances to get hurt aswell. However, she put her faith into the Ginger Giant who would be once more on edge. No way would he take her eyes off her.
Usually she'd try to hide her dhampir identity as best as possible... But this girl... hurt Quinn. After all the warnings they had given her, she still didn't know when to quit. Slowely, the dhampir took off Jacks shades. Her once iceblue eyes now had a bright red core. It was similar to the dot of a laser.
'Persephone...' With her pale, slim fingers, she slid the folded glasses with one ear over the collar of her marine blue dress. Hanging there, resting on her chest. The pain in her eyes was there. It was for sure. But her anger and dissapointment towards this Slytherin was greater. Carefully, she stepped beside the First Year and let her cold hand rest on the back of her neck. Her hands were as cold as they looked. Like ice. Like the hands of a dead man. Beautiful but terrifying. 'I've been trying.. to be nice. And yet you still find it amusing to hurt the people... who could be your friends.' With every pause, her pale hand started to poke her fingernails into the blondes neck. A little bit deeper and harder. As a person who wanted to get along with everyone -- Who would try everything to not be a victim of bullying... This girl annoyed her. Even scared her abit. Nico didn't understand what this girls thought process was. What was she out for?
Her nails weren't sharp, but they felt hard. Not as bendy as human nails felt. Some would say they felt freakish and weird. Carefully, she made eye contact with the girl.
'Bite him again... And..' Her blue eyes mixed with a piercing red locked on hers. I'll bite you. I'll bite you. I'LL BITE YOU. She wanted to. Not because she was hungry but because she was angry. More than angry. She was furious. 'You will... be punished accordingly. It's detention for you.' Her eyes never let go off hers. Her hand gripping firm around her neck. She wouldn't choke her but the Slytherin would feel the Prefects nails digging into her skin.
You're gonna need a bigger boat

Mentioning the chaos
Lark's hug felt tighter than normal, not because it actually was but because of how incredibly uncomfortable Ruthie was here. And it just got worse when Lark insisted she couldn't leave yet. "Of course, we can go!" she corrected her friend. That would be the ideal, of course: leaving together. Ruthie pulled again at Lark's dress sleeve, but it seemed like the Ravenclaw's mind was elsewhere. She seemed about to start a question or a statement but never quite formulated it as her eyebrow raised quizzically. Ruthie tried to follow her friend's line of sight but it was crowded. She wasn't sure, but looked like Dale, the boy Lark had attended the ball with, waving. "See, even Dale is leaving!" Ruthie interjected without really processing the fact that Dale might have been turning not towards the door, but towards other people, other girls. The truth was that Ruthie was probably one of the last people Lark should be asking about boys. There was Jorah, but that wasn't romance, and even if there had been a hint of something, it had all ended in disaster.
Feeling more confident in her clear logic that this whole tea affair was down right silly, she turned back to Cormac as Lark greeted him. Ruthie had had a couple runs-in with him now and he seems quite pleasant, and certainly enthusiastic about Quidditch. "Did you read the latest edition of The Bludger, Cormac? Wonderful win the Pride had against Puddlemere," she said, trying to bring some sense of normal by reverting to the one subject she actually felt confident about: sports. Hopefully, she wouldn't be relying on small talk all that long any way if Lark would just leave with him.
But that's when things started to get a bit crazy. There was a large scream, and people scrambling around the room. Ruthie felt her heart quicken as she recalled the horrors the ball. She'd been doing better in regard to her PTSD, but all it took was one good trigger. Instinctively, she took ahold of Lark's arm while looking for the door. It all seemed to move fast and the events of tea dripping, a head smashing all seemed to blur until she spied one familiar face somewhat lower than the others. Ruthie bent her knees and tilted her head to get a better look. "Merlin, that's Jake! He looks terrified," she commented, noting how closely he was holding his stuffed animal. She'd gotten to know how intense Jake's fears could be since teaching him flying. "We have to help," she explained to the others, motioning for them to follow as she walked over to where he was, knelt down and tapped him on the arm. "Jake, it's me, Ru. Come on out of there. It's okay, I got you," she said offering him her hand--or her sweater sleeve, whichever he might grab. She didn't know exactly what had been going on in the room--it had all gone so quickly while she had been focused on leaving--but she knew Jake was afraid and she had to help. Plus, if it got her out of this ridiculous event, all the better.

Ethen readied himself to counter the girl's quick insult about his scent but, pausing, he took a short sniff of himself and nodded his understanding. "I learned it from copying you!" Ethen protested smuggly crossing his arms with a grin. In truth, the girl aways had a pleasant scent and no matter what Ethen did, he could not replicate it. He would forever be locked in the perpetual scent of his hidden snacks. Only for once, his stock of snacks was entirely and horrifically empty.
Despite their constant and continuous insults, Ethen was more than happy to have the familiar face within the castle. He had never been great at making friends and the thought of being in an enormously unfamiliar castle did not exactly dappen his nervous. At least with Atlas he was able to relax some and let his natural antics run wild. All at the cost of being called smelly from time to time but it was a risk that he was willing to take.
Ethen's ears perked up as Atlas mentioned that she would help him find some stray snacks. "Now you are talking my language rice monkey. I might even split some of them with you," he smirked as he tried to peer past the people for signs of delectable items. "Well? What are we waiting for? Lead the way Reid!" Ethen said with a note of determination. He rose from his chair mid-sentence all but forgetting about his wet pants now newly motivated to find something.
"I don't care how pink or flowery it is as long as I can eat it!" Ethen smirked rubbing his hands together. He couldn't see passed the larger students but scuttled to Atlas' side to begin their journey. It wasn't quite like their adventures growing up but he was still happy to forget his slight anxieties in the presence of a friend. Even if that friend was the smelly ole Atlas. In the act of waiting for a response from the mysterious Slytherin boy, Rafael’s attention had been raptly taken – leaving his guard down for Wren. The girl had taken full advantage of his diverted attention – and had slipped a heart headband right onto his head, sending his hair into a complete mess, tufts of hair splaying out everywhere. Rafael sighed, a meager groan escaping his lips. He had hoped that Wren had forgotten about their little wager. But he had been silly to forget of the girl’s impressive memory. The two had made a bet earlier in the week, over a rather menial matter in Charms class – Wren, much to Rafa’s surprise, had ended up winning. And as a result, the Gryffindor boy had been coerced into her strange fashion habits. Though, he wouldn't complain too much – he’d been coerced into worse options. And it wasn’t like hew were wearing a skirt, or anything. “Thank you, Wren,” he told his friend, almost reluctantly, as he fixed the headband a bit better on his head. He was quite certainly a man of his word – he knew better than to dishonor such a wager. He’d weather it out, suffer the repercussions. Besides, what was the worst that could happen?
He turned towards Slytherin boy [Victor] again, rolling his eyes in a good-natured way. In the least, he most likely looked rather goofy now, an eleven-year-old boy with a heart headband on his head. His hopes were that, perhaps his enhanced look would put the boy at ease. [He knew it would calm him, if he were nervous. But, then again, he wasn’t sure he’d ever been nervous boy.] Though, at the moment, it didn’t seem like his tactics were working – the boy still wore a rattled air, coming off as very tense and guarded. “Not a big fan of crowds,” he told Rafael, something about the Slytherin seeming uneasy. The boy’s countenance put Rafael on edge, himself – perhaps his mood was contagious. Or, maybe had something to hide. Was he avoiding someone? Why was he so scared?
Instead of prying, though, he offered the guy a warm grin, one that would perhaps bring the boy some kind of solace. “I don’t think anyone likes crowds too much,” he said, an easy air to his voice, as he crossed his arms and looked around for a second. To his growing realization, only more people were coming. “Perhaps it’s our nature? Perhaps, our comfort lies with those that know us the best. Though, I’m sure there’s not much to be worried about, here –”
Before another word could leave his mouth, a sudden voice broke out behind him – he’d almost forgotten about Wren. The mere idea of disregarding her put some color in his cheeks – how had he been so rude? Though, Wren didn’t seem to care all that much, as she was seemingly embracing the Slytherin boy with figuratively open arms. “Hey! I’m Wren! Who are you?” Her straight-forwardness caused Rafael to wince slightly – it was as if she had ditched tactics altogether. Though, she seemed to be coming off nice enough. Her words had spurred the other boy to into introducing himself, ever-so-quietly. Which sent Rafael into a fit of thoughts, his mind moving quickly to ….
Victor….Victor….. His mind recalled the events of the Liberations club rather slowly, his mind piecing the puzzle together. There was only one Victor at Hogwarts, his name holding significant value regarding a certain trial. Victor… Moore…. His eyes widened just slightly in the realization, something only a very keen eye would be able to catch. He’s seen things. He knows what happened. The Gryffindor’s curiosity, which had been silenced upon entering the Great Hall, suddenly came to life, burning within his stomach and spurring him to action. He had always been an adamant Potter supporter, as most people knew well – it seemed farfetched that the man would ever kill such an evil woman. [Even if she had deserved it.] If the other boy knew something, Rafael was sure to find out. It was time for answers.
Though, it didn’t look as if the boy were ready for an interrogation anytime soon – on the contrary, the Slytherin looked as if he were about to dart out any moment. Rafa’s heart twisted in the mere thought of such a heartless action. What are you thinking, mate? His eyes flew over the other boy rather quickly, trying to assess the situation the best he could. Perhaps interrogations can wait, he reasoned. He obviously needs some space. The least he could do, was make sure Victor wasn’t about to have a panic attack. Embrace his Hufflepuff side, no matter how nonexistent it may have been.
He silenced his thoughts, focusing on reality for the moment. Without another thought, he nodded towards the Slytherin boy – Victor – putting the same bright smile back on his face. “Well, it’s nice to meet you, Victor,” he said cordially. “I’m Rafael. But most of my mates call me Rafa.” He rolled the r’ subconsciously, an indication of his Hispanic-American accent. One of his more noticeable features. “So, what brings you to such an event? Pushing your comfort zone, eh?” His grin grew ever-wider, a look of admiration sneaking in to join with the amusement. “I commend your bravery. Don’t think I would come if I were nervous.” He considered his next words carefully, a bit of a muggle phrase on his lips. “Y’know, mad respect.”
About that time, Victor had noticed something behind the two Gryffindors – Rafael turned, taking sight of the mess going on behind them. A mass of students had gathered, both familiar and unfamiliar faces mixing together. He’d caught the faces of a few acquaintances – Evelynn, the girl supposedly on the Quidditch Team, and Opeila, the violinist from the Rehearsal Room. It looked as if Evelynn were in pain or something, bringing the Gryffindor to wonder what exactly had happened. But, before he could ponder for a second more what events had transpired unbeknownst to him, his eyes had caught the face of the one person he hated the most in the world. “Jack,” he murmured just under his breath, his voice slightly growly and his eyes growing sharper as the moments wore on. He felt his hands clench into fists, his knuckles white, the memories the boy’s actions flooding back to him. [Send him a love letter, kiss him, kiss his boyfriend, and make his friend cry? It was as if the boy were looking for a death wish. And Rafael would be happy to oblige anytime.] Anger burned just beyond his vision, his temper flaring dangerously. He were sure to do something stupid, he knew he would…
He quickly squandered down his hormones feelings, taking control of his actions once more. It seemed as if it weren’t the time to address their issues, in the middle of an event with teachers watching, with the redhead seeming preoccupied with the whole... well, whatever was going on... and Rafael being a bit preoccupied himself. Looking back at Victor, he rubbed his neck, squandering the hateful look with one of confusion. “I – erm – I think that someone spilled tea on someone else,” he said. “Probably better if we leave the professors to deal with it.” He chewed his lip for a moment. Would the professors even notice? If not, then perhaps a student would have to act…
He didn’t think about it any more, however, as his attention was quickly taken by two new arrivals. He hadn’t even recognized Pierre’s voice at first – it took him a moment to turn around, and take in the familiar face and Slytherin robes, to realize the boy’s identity. Pierre was the only boy he knew that could light up a room just by being there. And with him, Katrina, the girl that he had spilled his guts to in the common room – and had caught him in the Rehearsal room. His cheeks heated up just slightly in embarrassment at the mere thought, but he tried not to focus on this, instead listening to Pierre’s words. ”Hi again! Um... good to see you. You doing alright? I’m Piérre, and this is Katrina.” Though it brought Rafael a great deal of joy in seeing the two, there was something in Pierre’s voice that led Rafael to wonder again – perhaps they had somehow observed what he had? It seemed as if the other Gryffindor had even met Victor before. While that sounded like a story all in itself, he’d restrain himself, asking green-clad Gryffindor later, or not at all.
Perhaps the air felt a bit tense, or perhaps Rafael just felt a bit talkative – whatever the case, his impulses got the best of him again, and he reacted, sending the two a grin, slightly halted by his confusion. "Hey, Pierre. Katrina. Been a little while since I've seen you both - been okay?" He rubbed his neck, stepping out of the way as to give them some room to get closer.
Katrina asked Victor a question about that time, wondering if the Slytherin wanted to sit down. Rafael wasn’t sure what to think of that – it didn’t seem as if she were talking to him and Wren. So, instead of saying anything, he just crossed his arms, focusing his attention on Victor, who… had taken a step back? Raf's look now held one of concern, his brown furrowed. He was convinced to ask the boy if he were okay again – but instead of asking his original question, he stayed quiet, waiting for someone else to loosen the air.
