@Ruthie Greer
Traumatic events were not uncommon in Hogwarts. Poor Ruthie, although only a first year had already experienced a fair share of those events. The sight of Jorah on fire was overwhelmed her so much so that the Ravenclaw quickly began to experience the symptoms of a panic attack. Thankfully, in an instant, Thora was by her side, trying to coax her back into reality. Miraculously, it did as Ruthie cast another flawless fire-making spell. The flames licked at the red fabric of the other team's flag.
@Bridget Collins
Unfortunately, the girl's attempts to duplicate the spell she had cast only moments ago did not turn out as expected. To the young Slytherin's disappointment, her wand failed to produce even a whiff of heat. Perhaps the current bitter weather was not the best condition to be casting fire-based spells.

@Katrina Walker
In an attempt to redeem herself, Katrina would cast yet another fire-making spell. The internal battle of emotions stirred up the right amount of fuel to produce the deserted effect. The flames roared from her wand and shot forth towards the opponent's flag. Perhaps it was the wind or simply the girl's accuracy, the flames missed the target once again.

@ Thora Larkston
The backfire or her own spell definitely hit her hard. Although the impact was brutal enough to leave bruises, the Slytherin quidditch player was quick to recover. It was a common stereotype that Hufflepuffs were kind. Thora would have been more suited to fit into the badgers than the snakes. Upon seeing her distressed friend, Thora was by the Ravenclaw's side in an instant. A few words of assurance proved to be effective. Thora's mind was back into the game. With the wave of her wand, the Hufflepuff muttered the incantation for the Knokcback jinx yet again. However, her spell was a failure once more.

@Erik Tharldson
Furious the pureblood Slytherin was at the sudden act of aggression. Who dared to attack a Tharaldson? Revenge was the only thing on the boy's mind. In an attempt to give the attacker a taste of her own medicine, Erik would cast the Knockback Jinx. However, to his dismay and possibly aggravation, his wand refused to produce an outcome.

@Rafael D'Spacito
Quidditch players, especially seekers and chasers, were known have exceptional aim. Then again, they were known to work better with their hands, wands and brooms. The flag pole wasn't too tall and the banner was not levitated too high up from the ground. Yet The boy's spell managed to miss it's target. Perhaps it was the strong winds which brew the flag in all directions that was the cause of his misaim.

@Alan Vanes
Alan vanes opted for another less offensive spell, the bubble-producing spell, aimed at the small Gryffindor Pierre. It was not a spell ideal for such weathers as as soon as the golden orbs were produced from the tip of the tip of his wand, they were quickly carried away by a gust of wind.

@Neculai Lazar
Guilt was an overwhelming factor. His housemate must certainly hate him now. One could only ask to know why Neculai aimed for the pole yet again given that he had just set another fellow Ravenclaw on fire. Perhaps it occured to the Dhampir that he might make the same mistake again and he pulled his wand away right after the spell was casted, causing the throw of devious flames to char the grass nearby instead.
@Piérre Marchonné
Evidently, the aim of the boy's spell was not all too accurate. Blame the strong gusts of winds, the flames, had not came near the flag at all and simply burnt another patch of grass not too far away. However, that was not the worst part, the bush which he had thought could keep his scarf safe was suddenly set ablaze, to the first year's horror.

@Rafael D'Spacito
It did not quite matter wether or not Rafael was still bitter about getting called out for his act of aggression, the game still continued regardless. The towering red head on the opponent team was a threat to the first year. So much so, that perhaps Rafael had not been brave enough to use a more offensive spell and resulted to the harmless red sparks spell. The spell burst into an array of bright light a few inches from the part-giant's face.

@Evelynn Decipio
In a fit of sneezes, Evelynn threatened to get revenge on the upperclassman who was the cause of her current discomfort. It would have been more intimidating if the threat was not complimented by a train of 'achoo's. Regardless, Evelynn grasped her wand and casted the fire making spell in the direction of the blue team. However, the feeling of foreboding that settled in her gut somehow became slightly prominent with all the sneezes. The flames produced by the wand had not gotten at ant where close to the flag. Had she intended to target Alan and not the Flag?

@Astrea Neptune
Not only had the girl successfully casted another spell, but the spells the two knockback jinxes that were intended for her was not even produced by the two vindictive players. Talk about luck. The flames the porcelain skinned girl casted was impressive.

@River Dewlight
Unfortunately, the dhampir's spell had once again missed its intended target; the banner. Instead a nearby bush was set aflame. Perhaps it was the strong gusts of wind which threw the piece of fabric in all directions or perhaps the girl's spell casting had not been proficient enough.

@
@Jorah Moussa
Why was Jorah sorted into Ravenclaw rather than the house of the brave. Gryffindor. Evidently it was a house which would accommodate the boy's strong traits of bravery and recklessness. Even after the entire ordeal, Jorah still dared to take his chances and protect the flag pole once again. Aboce him, the banner flapping in the air was raging red in tongued of ravenous fire. Thankfully, this time, spells did not hit him.

@Quinn Healy
Quinn blinded by the red sparks stumbled his way in the red team's premises. Unable to see more then figure's of an arm's length away, the Hufflepuff would result to standing in front of the closest person in the vicinity, protecting him or her with his large stature. Fortunately, the blindness was only temporary and the part-giant's vision began to clear.

There he stood. The very essence of confidence, defiance and determination itself with only one lingering thought on his mind. Revenge. Erik knew like no one else that this was in fact a dish served cold and what better way then pay his prey back then with the very same spell she had thrown at him? No, this was going to be perfect. Oh, what he wouldn't do to see the girl fall to the ground in pain. To recognise regret in her eyes the moment the spell hits her in full force. The mere thought of it seemed so enthralling, so thrilling. He allowed himself to relish in it. Just a moment. That was all he needed. All he had deserved as of yet.

This all happened in the blink of an eye as he raised his blackthorn wand and spoke the incantation. Seconds past and nothing happened. A howl of dismay was let out as he smacked the back of his wand in the hopes of somehow fixing the clearly broken thing. Much like a Muggle would try to fix a dying flashlight, before aiming it back at the pale, slender girl that had invoked his rage, but still nothing happened. In sheer frustration, he looked at his wand as if his sheer gaze alone was able to destroy it, before he turned around and threw it away as far as he was able. When he turned around, he locked his bright, venomous green eyes on the pale, slender almost very breakable porcelain looking girl. Almost too breakable.

That was the moment Erik started sprinting towards the blue team's territory disregarding all the spells flying around him. It was like everything around him had faded away into nothing. There was only him and his prey. Everything else simply didn't matter anymore to him. Not his team, not the game, nor its silly rules. This was his moment for revenge. His moment to show her that you could not get away with something like this unscathed. This would be a warning for others not to mess with him. She was going down. Hard. Oh, how he had longed for this and now it was finally there. This was the hour of the wolf. There was no doubt about that. The werewolf let out an angry roar as his body tensed, making it ready for a fight as well as turning his hands into fists as he leaped towards her ready to hit her square on her jaw.

Interacting with @Thora Larkston
"Ruthie," came a familiar whispering voice. Under other circumstances, the soft whisper could easily become a part of a flash-back. But there was only one person in the whole world who belonged to that quiet, caring, breathy and introverted kind of voice: Thora. "What happened?" came the Slytherin's voice, "Are you okay?" With a firm shaking of her arms and shoulders, the Scottish girl blinked and blinked again. As she tried to de-cloud her vision, eventually Thora's small but strong face came into clarity. She still couldn't quiet speak, but she'd know the Slytherin anywhere. Thank goodness she was on her team, but then Ruthie suspected Thora would always be on her team.

She felt Thora wrap her other arm around her, insisting, "Hey, th-the ball's over. W-we're just playing a game." And she reached up with her left hand to meet Thora's, her breathing finally slowed a bit. "Right," she admitted looking back at her friend, "A game." Some game. Things got intense so very quickly, but unlike the previous SWAG game, this match had fire. People on fire, just like that horrible ballroom night. But as Thora had reminded her, this wasn't that night. Looking back across the field, she could see Jorah was all right. And strangely, so was everyone else.

"Let's go," she said quietly, but confidently to Thora as she stood back up with her friend's help. Luckily, the panic attack had not cost her distance (time perhaps, but this was less important). They were still nearby. And so, pointing her wand a second time, she flicked it and said the incantation, "Incendio." With what luck, the flag set aflame a second time, looking as though this fire too would go one for a bit. Not one, but two flawless pieces of magic, even with the trauma. Perhaps she should be questioning if dueling rather than quidditch was right for her. The idea would never cross her mind, but even if it did, that wasn't the point of the day. Today was about taking out that banner.

And that was she was shocked when she saw the arrogant boy running fast down the dell, and straight towards Astrea. Ruthie couldn't quite tell what was going on, but he was moving awfully fast and that earlier arrogance still shown firmly on his face. She looked back at Thora. "What do you reckon he's up to?" she asked, kind of worried. They already had fire. An attack on another student would make it all too much like the ball. She stayed close to Thora in case something bad was about to happen.

@Aurelia Notrésvace

Spells flew everywhere, and Piérre prepped himself for anything. He knew that everyone was a target at this point, and he was included in that as well.

No sooner had he recognized his tenuous position, then a jet of shiny colors shot towards him, coming from the a boy on the blue team. He wasn’t a kid Piérre had met before, but he had been the one that the large boy had picked up and hugged with great gusto. It was a long stream of golden bubbles, the bubble-making charm.

It was well aimed, and Piérre hit the deck at he last moment, his adrenaline-filled reactions taking over as he rolled to the right. He was ready to make his move.

”Incendio!”

Because of what Aurelia said, I assume the spell worked, but it simply backfired on accuracy, even though the rolls say the spell failed altogether. RIP Piérre’s scarf... :(

Just as before, a spark of fire exploded to life, rocketing into the freezing air like a pillar of fire spouted from a primordial dragon. It was brilliant and scarlet and it made Piérre excited to know that he had succeeded once again on casting a spell. However, his excitement was short lived, as he discovered that the attack upon him had distracted him in a way that caused his aim to go wild.

The burst of fire seemed to hang in the air for a split second before beautifully and dangerously falling to the ground...

Landing upon the bush where he thought his scarf would be safe!

The dry wood exploded into flames, engulfing everything inside of it and beginning to lick at the delicate threads of the scarf itself.

”NO!” Piérre shouted, his eyes growing wide as he sprinted back to the bush, ignoring the game for the moment as he fell to his knees, sliding back to the burning bush and thrusting a hand in, uncaring of the burning that it surely could cause to him. Blisters could easily be healed, but the scarf had been special to him, a mark of individuality, even if it wasn’t his own house’s colors. He had thought that the greatest threat would have been a member from the other team or even of his own, but Piérre was appealed that he had been his own worst enemy. There was, unsurprisingly, no pain, and if there was, it did not faze him, Piérre was numb as the almost pleasant tingling crossed his flesh as he reached for his precious scarf.

Scooping the mass of burning threads form the bush, and biting his lip as the flames scorched his young hands, Piérre beat out the flames of his scarf by squelching it in his thick coat, refusing the tongues of flame their lifeblood of oxygen. This was not funny. This was not cool. Piérre was willing to sit out for a bit if it meant that he could salvage one of his favorite articles of clothing.

Putting his wand to the article, Piérre thought of every spell he could remember. There was one that could probably work!

Reparo? The spell was incanted more of a question than an assurance. He remembered in his Charms class that it could fix things that weren’t organic, living material, but he wasn’t entirely sure if that included organic materials making up a non-living object.

It was worth a chance, though, and so he was willing to hedge a bet.

True to experimentation, the scorch marks faded a touch, and the threads interlocked once again. It was far from being at its completely perfected state, and perhaps Piérre would have to seek out a more advanced spellcaster, but for now, it would work. Piérre decided to shove it in his pocket, and with a sigh, he began to recalculate his entire night and possibly the next day. He would have to make time to visit with a spellcaster or at least set aside time to fix it by hand, but he would have to deal.

There was an unearthly scream and one of the boys from his team rocketed across the field. Piérre wanted to shout out to him that he wouldn’t be able to do that, but it was too late, and he was swinging hard for the jaw of the girl who gave off the terrible presence.

There was nothing the little boy could do to save his teammate, but there was something else he could do to be of service to his team.

He executed it with fluidity and speed.

If fire had worked once, why not twice? Bridget's confidence was fueled by the blaze she'd just produced, the red flag still engulfed in the fiery tongues, but within moments the tendrils of assertiveness, of pride in her abilities, slipped away. Even though she'd pronounced the incantation the same way, even though she'd done the same wand movement, and despite forcing as much willpower into her cast as possible, not the slightest warm breeze came out the end of her laurel wand. At least her spell hadn't backfired. Shivering in her hoodie, the young Slytherin missed the jet of flames even more for that temporary bit of warmth it brought.

Her hazel eyes were drawn to a commotion, a movement. A streak of blond hair. Tearing her focus away from the opponent's flag, she noticed a boy, one in her house and year, running across the field towards Astrea. Seriously? This was the same boy who'd attacked Erin during the Cricket match, wasn't it? And now he was trying to illegally take out another person, again from his own house. Did he have to completely ruin Slytherin's reputation every time he stepped into a competition? The thought of defending her teammate briefly crossed her mind, but she quickly pushed it away. Bridget wasn't sure she could take him out in one hit and if she didn't totally shut him down... well, he'd probably come after her. And the brunette would really prefer that didn't happen.

She had aggravated the boy more than she had thought it would to take- the arrogance and mislead dignity was as strong as an upstart Gryffindor, though the burning green eyes told of cunningness that no doubt made its home in the house of the snake.

He was close to his breaking point. There was no doubt about it. The blond’s entire body was stiff with infuriation and expression twitching with indignation, an ugly flame of rage that was only stoked from burning embers to a full flame by his failed spell.

Flame. Flame. Fire. That was the point of the game, to burn and to destroy. A flag was what they intended, a flag was there fluttering red. The colour of the brave and sometimes perhaps the foolish, but maybe all had a tint of idiotic bravo somewhere in them.

“Incendio.” The words left her mouth before she realises what she said, her cherry wand solid and warm in her hands with magic as a jet of red flame was ejected. The neon banner lit on fire like cotton, it’s eye catching colour only burning brighter. Red on red. Fascinating-

Green. The blueblood’s reaction to the successful spell was cut abruptly short as the blonde boy she previously targeted suddenly broke into a run, vibrant green eyes shimmering with rage and a fierce thirst for revenge nearing closer. Even as the boy neared closer with murderous intent, Astrea could not help but feel her grin widen from where it revealed itself under her scarf, white canines flashing with triumph even as silvery eyes flashed with surprise.

She had done what she desired, she had evoked a reaction. And- And what a reaction it was. A new rush of adrenaline sparked inside her, her heartbeat a drum in her ears and the blood of her veins hot with ability even as she reeled back to steady herself against the upcoming blow with her wand out.

Her wand was an extension of herself, and the feel of magic sung like birdsong through her entire self, running through her chest with the feeling of magma under her skin. Screaming under her flesh, burning and scorching with energy.

Time seemed to slow even as her mind sped up.

Yes! Despite the chorus of sneezing, Evelynn had managed (against all odds) to find a sliver of space between attacks in order to hastily cast her spell. And what a success it was. The most beautiful plume of gold and orange (really, it was just really rather slightly above average, but she wasn't expecting a success at all, so it's the-most-beautiful-thing-ever) flame erupted from the end of her wand. It was dazzling. Blazing. A beacon of hope and confidence and success as it streaked across the grounds in the direction of the other team.

And then past...the..other...team?

"NOo..." Evelynn groaned in frustration, brows pinched together, knuckles whitening as fingers curled ever more tightly about polished cedar. She had missed. How had she missed?! Flag. Player. Pole. NOTHING?! With all the bodies and spells streaking back and forth, one might have thought she'd have at least hit someone, even if not the intended target.

No matter. She wasn't going to let that little set back stop her. Raising her wand to take aim once again, Evelynn waited for a break in her string of sneezes to cast. Only... her attention snapped from the target at the sound of a roar of anger. Storm grey eyes flicked to the streaking form of a blonde-haired boy.

"NO!" The shocked words flew from her mouth without thinking. "What are—aahhh---AhrheeCHOO~!" She cursed under her breath as the sneeze interrupted her attempt to instill some control into the obviously unhinged boy racing ever closer to the border of their area.

"STOP!" Evelynn shouted, breaking into a sprint after him, eyes streaming with another fit of sneezes. If she couldn't get a word in edgewise, she'd have to try to physically grab hold of his arm. She was too far away though; the boy had had too much of a head start. There was no way she was going to be able to catch up. "You're going to ge--- geeet—You're goingtogetyourse—ehh-ehhhhCHOO!-- DISQUALIFIED!"

Is he stupid?! A flush of anger rose in her as he raced hell-bent forward. Only moments earlier, it was him who had said he would not have them lose and to follow his example. Yea. Right. Let's all lose our minds and charge ahead and get ourselves disqualified, shall we? So much for ground rules. What a git.

With an annoyed "tssh" sound, Evelynn pulled up short of the boundary. Well, there was only one thing to be done. If they were going to be a man down (she was quite sure he was about to be disqualified and the team put at a disadvantage as a result), she would have to do her part to make up for it. Timing her sneezes for a long-enough space, she raised her wand and took aim at the blue team.

The first failed attempt at a spell must have thrown River off her bearings a little, as her second spell turned out just as poorly. Perhaps her mind was just not in the right space that day, or perhaps it was just the wind ruining her aim. No one really knew, but the only option for her was to continue after all. Looking around, there were many other people also having some trouble with their casting.
River sent a quick glance over at the bush she had accidentally set fire to. I hope it puts itself out, wouldn’t want another fire to erupt, she thought to herself, as the masquerade popped up in her mind. That event had truly become a disaster, just like they usually did. Fires seemed to be a trend around here, so perhaps having this game based around setting fire to flags wasn’t the best idea. At least not having it with bushes and trees in the near vicinity.
Taking her eyes back of the bush she decided flames was’t her jam today, so maybe attempting a different type of spell would work more in her favour. She wouldn’t be the only one going for people rather than the flag, and as far as she’d understood, casting spells on others wasn’t breaking any rules. Only physical attacks as far as she’d understood.
Hoping her new chosen spell would turn out more successful, she raised her wand and pointed it at her victim of choice as she said the incantation and gave it her best attempt.

[font=Segoe Print]"It's nothing the hospital wing can't fix. Yeah, I'm Jorah. We can meet and greet after we win. Now let's take down their flag!"

Jorah’s words were… reassuring, among other things. It seemed as if he weren’t too badly hurt at the moment, even though his resolve was being tested in such a severe way. The Ravenclaw was figuratively and literally enduring trial by fire – for some reason, Rafael’s mind flew back to a History of Magic lesson, or maybe it one of the horror stories his uncle had told him some time or other. Muggles use to burn witches in cold blood, as the stories went – some even went on witch hunts, seeking out their magical race. Maybe it was true, or maybe it wasn’t – the boy had never prided himself on love for information [or knowledge of history, for that matter.]. But perhaps the truth didn’t matter, in this case – the mere thought of someone enduring such an act only increased Raf’s respect for the Ravenclaw. It seemed as if there was a great deal of red and gold hidden behind the blue and silver – and that, Rafa could salute.

In fact, there was something about the boy’s bravery that fueled his own, as the Gryffindor found that his competitive spirit was only burning brighter inside of him. A grin growing on his face, he nodded in the direction of the Ravenclaw, a hint of admiration among his features. “Yeah, mate!” he said. “Good luck to you.” And, he did – wish him luck, that is. It would be a shame to see the boy on fire again. Though, perhaps there wouldn’t be time to check in on others anymore – no, he was here to win. Shooting the boy one last look, Rafa quickly turned, his focus once again trained of the mess of a game.

His eyes surveyed his surroundings once more, searching for another target, silently sorting through the students on the field for an apt objective. For some reason, though, after seeing Jorah on fire, he felt a bit more reluctant towards casting against a person – instead, a different sort of target caught the Gryffindor’s eyes. It was waving in the air, fire licking off of its fabrics in a strangely beautiful way. Raf’s stomach twisted slightly at the sight – though the flag didn’t look as if were going to come down anytime soon, it still set Rafael off a bit, seeing his team’s symbol in flames. A weak flag wouldn’t do – perhaps, instead of focusing on casting a spell that wouldn’t work, he’d aim for something a bit more in his reach.

His decision made, the Gryffindor deftly aimed his wand in the sky, the tip pointed towards the blue flag with seamless aim. His gaze focused his target, his ears zoning out the noise and his eyes steeled and focused, he mentally readied himself, loosening is arm in the slightest, the word right on his lips – he moved his hand in the pattern necessary, muttering the incantation quietly. “Reparo!”

It seemed as if the word hadn’t even fully left his lips, and his eyes had spotted another disturbing sight. His head following, his hand fell in the slightest, the spell not making its mark. But Rafael couldn’t register this. He could only watch in horror as Erik, the werewolf member of the red team, sprinted over boundary lines, heading for someone or something Rafael couldn’t quite make out as of yet. The boy looked as if he were out for blood. All the hairs stood up on Rafael’s arm, his face going pale as the beginnings of instinct tensed in his back. “He’s not supposed to do that,” he heard himself mutter absently, absolutely dumbfounded as his wand hand dropped to his side and his eyes widened, his fingers twitching just slightly.

As Jorah stood in front of the pole waiting for the second round of spells, he caught site of Thora comforting Ruthie. She looked...she looked like he felt. Jorah was glad Thora was there for her. Thora was a good friend, she had been one of the first people to visit him while he was a recovering at St. Mungos. "Everything's alright Ru! I'm fine, its just a game!" The words rang hollow in his ears. It was a game sure, but you could still get hurt, especially here at Hogwarts. Jorah was determined not to let that fear control him, not a second more. Maybe if I didn't hold back so much, we could have beat Slytherin in quidditch. If I didn't hold back so much, maybe I could finally tell Ruthie how I feel.

No spells would hit Jorah this time. He widened his stance, bending his knees slightly and leaning forward. "Come on, show me what you got!," he yelled. "It's just a game. It's just a game.," Jorah muttered under his breathe. He clenched his fists. What would Gris do? Then the idea popped in his head. It's stupid, but maybe it's so stupid that it just might work. With renewed confidence Jorah set out to channel his Kung Fu.
