Here she is, standing in the hall where it all began. But somehow, everything seems so foreign. The walls, the floating candle, the wooden tables. It's only been a year, but why does it feel more like decades?

Just to rewind, what did happen to her? She just seems as if she disappeared without a trace after her terrible third year being in Hogwarts. Well, after the passing of her dearest aunt, her custody has been returned to her father. Corbin Fowl. Although all of her aunt's wealth fall to her after her death, she is still too young to go home to an empty mansion all by herself. Basically, she doesn't have a choice but to go home to her father's house, somewhere in Ireland.

Her father lives in the middle of the woods, surrounded by acres of trees and land. Something this lady doesn't seem to be particularly used to. She remembered the first day she arrived on the 'cabin' and the first word she said was probably "Yuck." But the 'cabin' is not actually that bad; if any other normal people saw the cabin, they would probably consider it a luxury house. And although she said it was a cabin, it isn't like any other cabin that muggles probably encounter in the woods. The Fowl Cabin is huge, set by a gorgeous lake with a view of the snowy mountain ranges of Ireland. Although it is built with wood, the building looks quite modern, unlike a regular cabin she saw during summer camps. A big window decorated the front of the house with a beautiful entryway, which also leads to the lake just behind the cabin. But again, for Pea, who is used to city life, the 'Cabin' is still viewed just like any other normal cabin, hideous, and unremarkable.

What made the whole thing worse was that he also did not mention that he was remarried. To a widowed muggle-born, no less, and she has a little boy. The whole time, she has to deal with her new step-brother. Can't believe the universe had to force her to live in such a degrading life, as it isn't enough what she had to endure back in Hogwarts.

The life with this pitiful family is unpleasant, utterly and infinitely awful. She has to see her father and stepmother smothering each other every day; on top of that, she is forced to befriend her step-brother, who is incredibly annoying. He would pull elaborate pranks on her, such as making a full-blown heist involving their household raven to sneakily place some food coloring on her shampoo. Which makes her hair dyed blue for MONTHS!

Months? Yes months. Why did she stay in that ratchet place for months? even skipping a school year when she realized she had missed the date she had to return to Hogwarts. Was she brainwashed by these people? These lunatics who have been making her live a living hell? Well, that is a little dramatic. Maybe her experience isn't actually that bad. Maybe... she enjoyed going on a morning walk with her dad. Perhaps learning how to bake with her step-mother is actually fun. And solving the mysteries of the disappearing spoons with her step-brother, who turned up to be a loose nifflers hiding in the house, is actually quite.. pleasant. And before she knew it, one year had passed.

Although they are very unbearable at times, whether she likes to admit it or not, deep down she was happy to have a normal family she never had before. Happy to know that there are people who are waiting for her outside those gates and she won't be greeted by an empty memories of her aunt. She needed that break.

Without realizing, the edge of her lips were curved into a grin. A rare sight. That was what happened to the mystery of the dissapearance of Pea Elena Fowl. She sips her morning coffee, thinking who should she terrorize this year?
