The Gryffindor looked around the room, hearing people talk and chatter, while more students arrived and Alan started to believe that there had to be some theme or reason to this. The color scheme was obviously shades of reds and pink, some kids went out of their ways to dress up and Alan was beginning to wonder what he missed. This could not have been a coincidence, the professor had actually planned something and then it dawned on Alan. Valentine's Day.

He felt a bit helpless in this setting, until someone called out to him. To be fair, it was someone Alan has never talked to before and when he looked over it appeared to be a boy sitting together with a girl, inviting him over. Did he look this lost? Alan's cheeks turned a light shade of red, from embarrassment as he made his way over to the to students with a nervous smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. Calm down, you got this... Or at least that is what he kept telling himself.

"I-is that what this is for? You can e-earn house points?", the Gryffindor asked curiously, nervousness and anxiety seeming to overpower the steadiness his voice could have had. As he sat down at their table, unsure whether he would want to stay. But it was only tea, right? And it would gain his house some points, so how could he actually say no to this? He would only need to avoid the professor, because he did not want to talk with her or interact with her even. "So... u-uhm, what are your names?", he asked carefully as he looked over to the tray with clean dishes. None of the tea cups were any other color then pink and Alan did not really like the color; mostly because it did not mix well with the color that was most dear to him, red. It did not only symbolize his house, but also what he valued and pink clashed with it immensely. He did not hated the color either, but this was a little much, but he was not surprised at all, after all it seemed just like something the flying professor would do. He waited for either of the kids to answer, glad they were so nice to invite him over.

I was not the first to arrive. In fact, far from it. Who would have thought that a Valentines Day celebration would have such a broad appeal? It was a bad idea to participate. To even show. I was warned that it would have been best to stay away, but Vlad had a chance of heart and encouraged he to 'branch out' be it for just a day. I was admittedly reticent about the notion, about engaging with the other students in this school and letting my guard down. In fact, when I entered the Small Hall, my stomach felt like it was full of lead balls. There was too many people here and I did not know anyone. Well, I recognized a few faces. People that shared my house. A few I have met in the halls. A few whose reputations preceded them, being Prefects or of some sort of repute.

I would back away, consider leaving through the same door I just entered through. No, I even shook my head. a physical sign of my internal debate. I was not afraid of girls. They were anything but gross. No, I was worried about people, they were plenty scary. They were not going to like me. I was not going to be welcome. I should not have listened, not to Vlad. Not this time. I should have picked something smaller, easier. Filled with less people and not run by the very loud Professor of Flight whose name I could not pronounce.

I tried to leave, there were already more students entering. Oh dear Merlin, it was as if most of the school was already here! I was sweating a bit. I did not think I had social anxiety. I had a very good reason to be anxious. Yet this was probably what an anxiety attack felt like I reasoned -- this feeling as if I was going to die. This feeling as if my mind was racing faster than my feet could carry me or my words could speak for me. This abstract feeling of panic was intangible but entirely real.

The small hall, adorned overwhelmingly with pink decorations, buzzed with the conversations of the students who’d arrived, the number growing by the minute. As far as Persephone could tell, many of these attendants seemed as uneasy as she, apparently only present for the promised house points. But among them were students, primarily girls, who appeared genuinely interested, excited even, for this event. It was foreign to her, the feeling of fireworks erupting inside you, if that was even how it truly felt. To her own beliefs, it likely was more like a black hole, dark as your own devastation, swallowing all of your insides so all that remained was a hollow shell.

Besides this, even though the idea frightened her enough on its own, the young witches and wizards of Hogwarts were just that: young. Persephone wasn’t overly wise in the nature of love, nor philosophical on its effect on her generation, these opinions of hers were better justified by her experiences, particularly the one that seemed to triumph all the others. If love never worked out between adults, how would it do so with children? It was a pathetic sight, to watch them, some older than her, give themselves away to a hopeless cause. Her green eyes shimmered as she flicked them to the door, watching intently as more of these lovesick puppies poured into the hall, among them a few she vaguely recognized from her house. Good for Slytherin, she supposed.

Tearing her eyes away from the entrance, Persy looked around the room, studying each of the students as if they all carried an important bit of knowledge. And they did, she knew. Everything a person does, they do with reason, let that be talk or let that be cry. It says something about them, more than they even know they’re showing. Nevertheless, she wasn’t going to get many house points from the comfort of this corner, so instead of searching for intel, she looked for a familiar face.

There were a few around; the red-headed boy she had met from the Great Hall, the brunette-ish girl from the lake, and a few other nameless Slytherins who mingled among the crowd. No one, Persy concluded, that she wanted to speak to. A particularly nicely dressed Slytherin that she’d recognized as a Prefect, roamed along with a few others, and Persephone considered introducing herself for a moment.

Deciding against it, Persephone instead pushed through the crowd towards the table that contained the different assortments of tea. Of course, she’d never had tea before.

It seemed like there would be a lot of ‘firsts’ today.

So this was a tea party- not a cult gathering of sorts. Interesting, yet mildly disappointing. Xailah had a semi-good understanding of how to handle tea parties. As a child she and her younger sister, would host their own little parties, and invite their plush animals. So one could say she had experience with gatherings of this variety. Seeing that no one else was wearing their assigned robes, Xailah decided to slip out of her Gryffindor ones; revealing a black, ruffled shirt, with sheer sleeves. She set her robes in the space next to her.

Some familiar faces were beginning to flood into the pink monstrosity, that was currently substituting as a room. She could pinpoint a few of her fellow prefects. One of them- the half giant, was wearing an outfit, that was equally as awful as Bercegeay's. Xailah peered over the top of her glasses, shooting the boy a painful look. She would divert her attention quickly, in a desperate pursuit to find something that was not painful to look at.

Lets face it, the whole room had the potential to actually blind someone. So, Xailah eventually just looked down into the teacup in front of her. It wasn't too hideous. If she looked hard enough she could see her own reflection in the rosy china. As more people arrived, the room would begin to feel slightly strange. A familiar feeling of...dread? It would creep its way around the room. While it didn't exactly scare the Gryffindor prefect, it did make her wary. It would alert Schrödinger, causing his thick grey fur to stand on end.

Xailah looked around briefly for the source of the weird feeling. She was expecting to find Kaegen somewhere in the room, seeing that he was usually the source of dreadful auras in the past. He was nowhere to be found. Reaching out a slender, gloved hand, the Gryffindor would make an attempt to comfort her feline friend. A sneeze would be heard from somewhere in the room. Xailah didn't have to look up to see who it was. Aurelia. The sound of the sneeze had been drilled into the mind of the Gryffindor prefect. It was unforgettable at this point.

The cub would peek up for a moment, to see if she could find her roommate. Aurelia appeared to be talking to a dark-haired girl. Aurelia probably had already seen Xailah. But that didn't keep the Gryffindor prefect from hiding behind her hand in a, 'I cant see you', sort of way. Xailah wouldn't be caught dead at a Valentines event- luckily she could use 'I didn't know', as an excuse- because she didn't know. The Gryffindor would eventually grow bored; and would begin to inspect the items on the table in front of her.

The table would end up being short several spoons, and one teacup- seeing that a kleptomaniac was currently sitting at it. The little set of rose-gold, colored metal, would be nice additions to the cubs current Silverware collection. Some time would eventually pass, before someone else joined the table Xailah sat at. It appeared that neither one was expecting the other. Was it an accident? Possibly. But how does someone "accidentally" sit at a table? The concept was lost to the prefect.

The younger girl would at first be greeted with an expression of mild confusion, which would later evolve into concern. The fact that this child acted like she was just born yesterday, was absolutely amazing. In fact Xailah couldn't tell if the girl was just messing with her at first. Xailah sat in silence, analyzing the girl in front of her. She detected a quiver- a feeling of possible discomfort, in the girls voice. She did not know that Schrödinger, was the reason for such behavior.

Schrödinger on the other hand, picked up on the girls uneasiness, right away. Oh he knew. He knew that the little ginger was scared of him. He stared the girl down with his little copper orbs, tail twitching in a irritated manner. "Well which one is it? Eliza, or Violine?" The Gryffindor prefect would raise a neatly plucked eyebrow. "Or perhaps it is both?" Her expression would soften, into something more playful. "I am Xailah Alptraum. This is Schrödinger." She gestured to the mass of grey, on the table. "Will you be here long? If so, could I interest you in a cup of tea?" Xailah offered, peering into a nearby teapot.

Ruka almost choked on his tea when Opeila mentioned the wannabe cupids.
The Slytherin watched at him, not knowing if it was a reaction to her words, or a if the tea was really spiked with something. But nothing happened, so Ruka was probably fine.

She chuckled when Ruka said he would get her out of uncomfortable situations, if she did the same for him in return. "Sounds good to me. Let's hope, that it won't be necessary..."

Opeila grinned when Ruka said he would never get used to so much colour. "Neither will I. I don't know, what our Professor thought, whe she did that. This is not even very romantic or something." Opeila shrugged. "Well. The housepoints will be worth it. Hopefully."

Then the Gryffindor called the other boy, and offered him to join them and drink some tea. Opeila grinned. "That means, if you dare to touch the tea. I've heard someone mentioning love potions earlier, so... If I were you, I wouldn't.", she added.

She was surprised, when the Gryffindor boy didn't know you could earn housepoints here. "So that isn't why you are here? What is it then? A date?" She smirked teasingly.

"Oh right, I am Opeila Seilun, nice to meet you.", she answered when he asked for their names.

(Kara's Dress she wore)
Image posted by the member

Kara walked into the hall of pink. It looked like it a princess had thrown up on the Small Hall and then pained over it with cotton candy. Kara laughed a little and realized the dress she was wearing was a little over the top. It had nice lace features and Kara had added a feather hair-piece to her hair that she had put up in braids.
Kara didn't like the feeling of her hair being tugged at, for the braids were tight. She looked around and sat at a small two person table in the hall. She looked around, everyone else's outfits were not as formal as her own.
She looked down at the sets of small china teacups, bowls with lumps of sugar, pitchers of creame, and many more sweets and delights. Kara took a cupcake and almost ate it whole, since she hadn't eaten since that morning and she was overwhelmed by work and didn't have the time to eat.
Kara swallowed and ate a few more things like treacle tarts and some pink-boxed chocolate frogs. She made herself some rose tea and sat back into the comfy plush chair. She looked across the table to an empty seat. Kara wished that the Gryffindor girl, Ariana, would be in that seat.
Kara didn't know why, but her heart had been pulling towards the girl. Her messy brown hair and big green eyes had seemed to always attract her.
Kara lightly touched the new scar on her lip from protecting Ariana in the corridor. Kara had felt a little dizzy still but somehow still pulled up her hair nicely. She had dressed up so much to try and impress Ariana. Kara knew how silly it was, but she wanted Ariana to notice her so bad!
She took a few sips of her tea and put the cup down on a matching saucer. She got up and wondered why there was a large open space in the middle of the room like a dance floor, but no music played. She scowled, she was hoping that a slow dance would be added into the mix of the festivities. She grabbed some cauldron cakes from another table and left back to her own little sanctuary in the giant pinkified hall. Kara stared off at the entrance of the Small Hall, hoping to see Ariana walk through the door.

Ruka hummed his agreement to Opeila saying that she didn‘t know what their Professor was thinking. He really hoped to never have to see anything pink ever again after this day.

When the other boy joined their table, Ruka waved a little awkwardly, unsure of how to properly greet a practical stranger close up like this. „I actually think the tea is fine,“ he added to Opeila‘s words, grinning toothily at the Gryffindor. „I just had a cup and I don‘t feel any different. But I don‘t know if I‘d risk eating any of the pastries.“ He shuddered thinking of the possible effects the food could have.

Turning his attention back to the boy, Ruka offered him a reassuring smile; he seemed nervous, like he wasn‘t sure what he was even doing there, and Ruka couldn‘t say he blamed him.

Even Cindarella‘s Fairy Godmother would be outraged by all this pink.

Ruka raised his eyebrows at Opeila‘s words, laughing lightly. „Why is it, you seem to think people come here for dates?“ he asked, remembering that she had also asked him before if he was waiting for a date. „This is so not where I would ever bring a date to. Most people would probably run screaming from this mess.“

He chuckled, shaking his head lightly before turning back to the other boy. He was clearly quite a bit taller than both him and Opeila, which made Ruka think that he might be a bit older at them; or maybe he was a second year as well?
No, Ruka would have noticed him in class, wouldn‘t he?
Well, he hadn‘t been very attentive recently, so maybe not.
I‘m Ruka,“ he answered the boy‘s question, deliberately not mentioning his last name. After having Jack calling him Tân all the time he really didn‘t need any more people to refer to him by his last name. „What about you?“

[font=Segoe Print]As the boy waited for his friend [Wren] to respond to his antics, his eyes wandered around the room, taking in more of the exciting sights laid out before him. Part of the décor was a bit sickening, actually, a blinding wave of pink. Definitely not a man’s color. There was something about the hue, or the hearts, or glass, that just put a shiver down his spine – he felt a bit alien in the room, if he were starkly honest. But he supposed he would have to endure it, suffering through the girliness and posh. For friendship’s sake.

Another thing he vaguely noticed the longer he stayed, was the subtle fact that the vast majority of the students amassed in the room were wearing dress clothes. This also gave him a pang of discomfort – among the dresses and decorative clothes, he felt severely underdressed in his simple hoodie. He wouldn’t show his discomfort, however, instead opting to hold his head high and share his Gryffindor pride via his bold clothing choices. He would be underdressed, and that would be fine – anyone who disagreed would simply have to fight him. That was the end of it.

In the midst of his inward turmoil, his eyes caught an unfamiliar boy wearing casual clothing , just like him. It gave him a burst of pride, seeing the simple clothes – he wasn’t the only one casually dressed. It gave him such a start, that he was just about to commend the boy on his excellent taste in casual clothing. It was about then that he noted the boy’s expression. There was something off, like the boy was nervous or something – that simply wouldn’. His impulsive side took over, and he allowed it, stepping forward a bit to make himself know to the boy. “Hey, uhm, you okay, mate?” he asked, his eyebrow raised and a confused smile on his face, as he rubbed his neck tentatively. “Looking a green around the gills, you know.”

A wider then usual grin crept across his freckled slightly pale face. His bright emerald-blue eyes were even more vibrant as clear joy could be seen practically sparkling within them. "Aye. Well ah do enjoy dressin up faer every occasion. Specially one 'ere ah caen go a little crazy with me outfit." Deep but surprisingly gentle laughter left his lips. As they did his eyes drifted over Nico's outfit and appearance. Quinn couldn't help but notice every detail about her for him it was almost impulsive. Something he had a hard time resisting but could usually hide very well. This was not one of those times.

He Her pony tail was the first thing he noticed on the redhead, followed by her outfit which was a very noticeable contrast to the colors of the room. He also noticed that her cheeks seemed to be a little pinkish which was odd. He wandered why that was but just before he could do that. A strange feeling he never really noticed before made its presence known in his chest. His heart felt weird and his cheeks felt a bit hot. It was a strange feeling. One he did not wish to dwell on. It made him feel uncomfortable despite the slight pleasantness to it.

"U-U-Um anyway I-I s-shaeld take a seat hehe...and um...I-I really like ye outfit..." With an uncharacterically sheepish tone, accompanied by noticeably red cheeks. He carefully navigated his way to the nearest seat at the table. Positioning himself between Nico and another boy he only now realized was there. Oh this was so unlike the redhead. How rude he must have been! Looking at the boy now he quickly flashed his an inviting smile.

Seconds later he realized who the boy with stuffed dog was. "Jake? It's Jake right?" He questioned for a moment trying to dig back into his memory which could be admittedly fuzzy at times. Knitting his brows together it took him a minute to remember. It was Jake or as he liked to secretly call him, Baby Badger. "Jake! It is ye. Haew are ye doin? I love ye stuffed dog by 'e way. Its very cute, it suits ye quite 'ell." He chuckled again his embarrassment seeming to fade.

Now that Quinn was thinking about when he decided to give another look around the room. There were more familiar faces he noticed. Like Alan Vanes his train friend. From what he could tell tiny Gryffindork appeared to be enjoying themselves, talking with two other students he didn't recognize. From where he was sitting he couldn't really make it out their expressions. But judging from what he knew about Alan and body language. They seemed a bit well maybe not uncomfortable but awkward perhaps?

Quinn continued to scan the room, shifting away from Alan Vanes. Rather quickly his eyes fell upon another familiar face. Griseldis Edelhardt the girl who had to unfortunately restrain him during that terrible incident. She looked well dressed for the occasion which he highly approved of. One should always dress up for events. At least that's how he felt. She seemed to be talking to a student he couldn't recall seeing before. He was glad to see another person he knew if only a little enjoying themselves. Perhaps he would try to talk to the two later?

However, the young Half-Giant had to reign themselves in. It was very rude to ignore those in front of him. "So...ye guys enjoyin the event?" A simple but fair question. Gently as he could he placed his large, cracked and slightly calloused hands on the table. Interlacing his fingers which were easily longer and larger then probably anyone's at the event. It made him self conscious a bit which was shown by the slight fade in his seemingly perpetual smile, and the manner in which he tightened the grip of his hands.

Piérre would have never thought in a thousand years that someone would approach him at such an event such as this, especially not a girl. The approach had been rather sudden, and when she had talked to him, the first thing he could thing of was Blank.

And blank he had, his eyes widening to the size of saucers as his cheeks suddenly snapped from red and warm to pale and frozen. Someone had actually talked to him, and someone was asking to sit and talk and get to know one another... or maybe...

He was about to respond, and was, in fact, about to open his mouth to shoot to his feet an offer a seat isn’t he most gentlemanly of ways, when just as soon as she had shown up, Piérre snapped his head up to look at her again...

And she was gone.

He glanced back and forth a bit longer, trying to find her again, but it was of no use. No doubt she had moved on to someone who was more interested and not as shy about a relationship. Nice going, man. Really nice. Way to show off those troubadour moves, you’re gonna be an awesome single man in the sixty years to come.

Just as he was starting to feel really bad, a dark aura spiraled into the area, clenching at the young boy’s heart and causing him to wince again as his errors overtook him. God, why could he have been more social? This was what a social gathering was for, after all? Why didn’t he see anyone he could talk to readily? Or was it that he was just to much of a coward to do so? If he was a coward, why was he here? Why was he a brave lion? Why wasn’t he somewhere else were fear was acceptable and not frowned upon as a housewide weakness?

Self-doubt and self-doubt, and more fear, and self-doubt. So much that it caused him to put his head to the table and hide the flush and tears which began to brim in his eyes. Why did that aura have to be there? Why did it have to remind him of the shortcomings he felt on a daily basis? Was there something wrong with him? No. No, there wasn’t... but then what was it that caused so much self-loathing... this... sense of self-hatred... self-doubt... Just wanting to run away and never come back.

No. None of this. Not on a nice day, when other people are surely sadder than himself. That was his purpose, his place in life. He had to make others happy, others came before himself. Only when he knew that everyone else was okay then he would take care of himself. There was always a reason, just like the person or thing with this deep, dark feeling.

Smiling again, and wiping his eyes and nose with the sleeve of his shirt, Piérre took a deep, shaky breath as he looked across the room...

And spotted Katrina! My goodness, they just kept running into one another! She was talking to another boy @Andrew Vance, who seemed to just be passing by, but Katrina was buried in a book. With a swift movement and a giddy leaping in his throat as he recognized a friend, Piérre sprinted across the room, bumping into a few tables as he made his way to Katrina.

”Hi Kat!” He burst out, forgetting for the moment that she was reading a book and probably engaging in a conversation before he had butted in. Oh well...

”How are you doing? The place looks pretty nice, huh?” Realizing that tea was nearby, Piérre took a cup and saucer and began to make his own, Earl Grey, as that was his favorite. If there were crumpets, he now had a mouthful of those too. Holding back the urge to laugh, Piérre looked all across the room for anyone else. The fear in his stomach was still fluttering, exuding from one source or another, but he did his best to push it aside.

There was a singular boy on the other side of the room. He had a black tanktop shirt, black cargo pants... he was pale... and sported spiky black hair...

Piérre started at him for a bit before it clicked. No, could it be...

The kid from the Caretaker’s Office?!

This soon, and in a local location? That was intriguing.

Piérre tipped Katrina, averting his eyes to the ground and focusing on his tea. ”Kat... Do you know that boy?” Piérre shifted his weight, putting one foot in the direction of the boy he seemed to recognize. ”I ran into him a while back with our Prefect. He was in the Caretaker’s office. Seemed pretty nervous when we first ran into each other.”

Glittering bottle green eyes mischievously flicked to Katrina’s. ”You wanna come with me to talk to him?”
