Nora is a pale girl with pinkish cheeks, brown eyes and dark curly hair that softens into waves as she brushes it. The contrast of her lips against her pale face framed by her dark hair gives her a captivating look. Her round eyes are shaped by some long, dark and full eye lashes, also outlined by some dark eyebrows making her brown eyes specially attractive.



Nora is friendly, kind, generally happy and optimistic, with an artistic vein. But don’t take her kindness for weakness, she can be very outspoken and blunt at times (no harm intended!). She loves adventures and that’s what her books are to her, a prelude to her journeys. She is the most loyal and caring friend one could ever ask for. She will go above and beyond to cheer up a friend who is feeling down and is always up for an adventure! She likes to talk so, if you notice she’s been quiet, know that something is up, whether she is diving into something no one has noticed or something is really wrong…



Nora was born in Edinburgh but moved to London when she was five when her father took a new job. She returned to Scotland four years later when her parents realized that was where they truly belonged. Her father is a helicopter pilot, adventurous and fun to be around, while her mother is more tuned into nature (and mystical things) as a herbalist and owns a small apothecary shop. Nora has older twin siblings (a brother and a sister) who have become bit distant from her now that they are teenagers. She longs for deeper connections and craves adventure. Moving back to Edinburgh has been great but, to a certain extent, she is still the new girl. Everyone at school and in the neighborhood who she hangs out with has know each other for a while and already have their own best friends. But she has not given up! Something tells her that there’s something out there waiting for her and she hopes some close friends will come with it.



Nora’s first display of magic happened when she was sitting with her sister on a bench at the park while she was sketching a frog she saw near the pond. A dog off its leash darted towards the frogs and they all jumped right into the water, expect for the one she was sketching.
Terrified, Nora shouted, trying to get the frog to move but it wouldn’t budge. As the dog drew closer, Nora got desperate, stood and stretched out her arms and cried, “JUUUUMP!” While her sister tried to pull her back.
To their astonishment, the frog flew through the air, higher than any frog could ever jump, and landed on the farther side of the pond with a splash. The two girls, wide eyed and with their mouths open just stared at the pond for a while in silence. Nora’s sister was the first one to speak.
”Did you just...throw that frog into the lake...like...WITH YOUR MIND???”
"I...Don't...know...? Maaaybe...?" 
They both sat quiet for a couple more minutes.
“Should we tell mom…?”, asked Nora.
Her sister took a deep breath, then responded.
“I…Don’t…know…? Maaaaybe…?
They both held their legs up on the bench, hiding their mouths behind their arms while staring at the pond where there was now no dog, no frogs, and no explanation about what had just happened.



Nora dreams of going on adventures, building deep friendships, and discovering the magic within herself. She is afraid of being stuck, and with that, of fear itself.
