Interacting with @Opeila Seilun

Ruka‘s eyes went wide with terror as Opeila talked about love potions, and he quickly sat his tea down and moved it to the side, as far away from himself as possible. „Well I guess, that‘s all the tea I needed anyway,“ he said, coughing a little as he‘d breathed in a few droplets of tea in his panic.

Love potions sounded scary, and Ruka definitely didn‘t want to fall victim to one. He could still remember last year‘s Veritaserum debacle, and that hadn‘t turned out so great either; he really didn‘t want a repeat of it.

He looked around the room, nodding thoughtfully at Opeila‘s words. „I guess most people came for the house points, not the actual party,“ he mused, chuckling at all the lonesome people around the room. „Can‘t blame them, that‘s exactly what I‘d planned on too“ He grinned bemusedly, subconsciously reaching for his tea before the memory of love potions set in again and he removed his hand as quickly as he‘d stretched it out.

He chuckled a little when Opeila pointed out that people would have probably stepped on his feet; it was true, the hall seemed to be filling with students quite rapidly, and the chances of someone just bumping into one or stepping on one‘s feet increased with them.
I‘ve never been to a Valentine‘s celebration before, but I definitely didn‘t expect it to be so much like... candy floss.“ He snorted lightly, tapping the pink cushions on his chair carefully with his fingertips.

Frowning a bit, Ruka looked at Opeila with a spark of worry in his eyes. He didn‘t know much of what the girl was going through, but he could definitely tell that whatever it was left its toll on her.
Hey, don‘t sell yourself short,“ he said, smiling teasingly at her. „Some people might really fancy someone who‘s rude to them and looks like death.“ His tone was playful and he hoped Opeila would understand his way of bantering. He figured she probably didn‘t need half hearted condolences and meaningless words of pity, but maybe he could make her laugh a little instead. „And if they don‘t like that, then whatever. Just gives you more reason to continue being rude to them.“ He winked at her before turning his attention to a stain on his shirt, rubbing at it with his thumb, but to no avail. The stain must have been there for years already judging by how it didn‘t even smear.

Anyway,“ he said with a little shrug. „We can stay alone and unwanted together. I don‘t have any other plans anyway.“

She grinned when Ruka quickly put down the tea and pushed it away from him.
"Now you can as well drink it. You've drunk part of it anyway, so if this one was spiked, it is already too late. Don't worry, I'd see that you don't do anything stupid."

"Who knows what the day will bring! Maybe you will find a nice girl in the end.", she said. "I think, I'll stay optimistic for now."

"My muggle school always got excited about Valentine's day. It was quite stupid. They made us create stupid pink decorations for the classrooms and all that stuff. And for 50 pence you could buy a rose that the group that sold the roses would anonymously give the person of your choice. Only, that they didn't stick to the rules and used that info to spread gossip. Then it was only embarassing. So you didn't miss a lot. Valentine's day is great for couples, a reminder of their loneliness for everyone else."

His reaction on her reasons why nobody would fancy her, made her laugh.
"You know what? You're right.", she said a little sarcastic. "Someone surely will show up sometime, because he liked me being rude.
And I'll stay moody old me anyway, if he likes me or not.", she said grinning. However moody she had been the past few weeks, this day somehow just got a little better.
And she was glad, that Ruka was reacting humorous. She was fed up with pity.

"Sounds good to me. Better than sitting around alone definitely."

Dale looked over himself in the mirror once more, making sure his shirt was probably tucked in, trying once more to fix his hair... to no avail, and then giving up and leaving the abandoned bathroom. He had grown a bit attached to that place... after hours of scrapping rust out of those pipes. The Ball had left a pretty bad taste in his mouth, but he wanted to try once more. Third times the charm after all. The real reason he was going was that he was extremely bored, he had nothing to do so he decided to take the chance to get to know a certain professor a little better, she had quite the... colorful personality. And he was also kinda hoping that a certain Ravenclaw girl was going to be there, she was dropping hints that she was going, but Dale would deny that.

As he made his way over to the great hall, trying to fix his hair all the way over, he kept thinking of things that could go wrong... But eventually, he arrived at the doors of the small hall, he took a small breath and went inside, he was quite surprised that quite a few people were already there, he could recognize a few of them, one of his fellow bandmates... and that's it, few is an over-exaggeration. His eyes settled on the person who he hoped would be there, Lark. He wanted to try to socialize with others.. but felt a little awkward about it. He walked over to were Lark was standing "Fancy seeing you here." Dale said jokingly, a smile tugging at his mouth.

It was the prospect of extra house points that initially drew the apathetic blueblood Slytherin to the event. Granted, it was only a few points, but points nonetheless. Slytherin had just bearly won the house points of the month, and for that, she was immensely pleased, but she could not slack off regardless. That was the only reason. And maybe also free tea. She was also a sucker for some nice tea, regardless of how familiar the prospect of a 'tea party' was to her hopelessly blueblood self.

For weeks before Valentine's Day, Astrea had been dreading the holiday, constantly caught late at night in the common room with half-written letters in black ink and opened blue-ribbon envelopes front lit by the green glow of the fireplace. Her collection of various coloured candles specifically to mark off seals to letters had run low from the sheer amount of times she had to use it over the past month, many of the previously beautifully painted and carved wax cylinders reduced to measly stubs that dripped dye all over silver trays.

At the tender age of newly 12 and still bound to the confines of Hogwarts, the Neptune-Chou was technically not allowed by family tradition to participate in any Valentine's Day celebration in the Four Bloodlines. White Day included, neither chocolates nor lace cards would be exchanged. Very disappointing, but slightly expected. Astrea could only dread how 'cheesy' and atrocious muggle children could be on such a day. Only the uptick in letters exchanged between Astrea and Sauron signified the coming of the holiday.

Astrea had very low expectations for the hosted event in the Small Hall, 6 feet under and taken so deep that her imagination had been clogged with thoughts of paper hearts and memories of light blue fine china decorated with daylilies. Even so, the Slytherin had fussed on her outfit for far too long in front of a mirror, making sure her sundress was laced up nicely and her pearls shone spotless ivory. She would not come into attendance looking like death warmed over, looking unladylike and unseemly for a child of her rank. At the mere thought, she could practically hear her governesses and family house-elves gasping in shock.

As low as her expectations were, simply walking through the threshold between the halls and the Small Hall had taken her predictions by the neck and launched them right through the entire Earth with how jarringly- unflatteringly- disgustingly- neon pink the entire room was. She expected something more elegant. It was seared into her memory the moment she stepped in, white canvas sneakers faltering in their confident strides and mind running in shocked horror at the plush pink armchairs. How- tasteless.

Her shock had worn away to recoiling displeasure by the time that Astrea wordlessly sat down at an empty table smoothly, the seat cushy and slightly rough on her bare legs. It seemed that over a dozen others had chosen the same event to attend, most sitting alone and unsocializing. Astrea was unpleasantly reminded of her mother's tea parties and callings, of days peeking into the drawing room to watch the ladies clink cups together and discuss matters in lilting tones and fake laughs.

As disappointed as Astrea was with the arrangement, she found herself strangely calm as perse grey eyes lowered under sooty eyelashes to watch her finger run around the rim of the cup in front of her idly. Her unbound hair ran in curdles of ink against the pink fabric of the chair she sat at, a shock of doll-like shine against creamy skin. For all the absurd flamboyancy the Small Hall displayed at the moment, the table decor was sad in comparison. A plain pinkish-white cup, with a similarly coloured plate, loosely folded white cloth napkins, and a simple set of silver cutlery. She expected more from how bold the area was.

Mind you, Astrea thought the pink armchairs were atrocious, but the china set was dreadfully plain in comparison. At least go all out. It looked tacky when it was only half done. Yet the longer she stayed, the more she wished to leave. At least alone she could be able to do more productive things than sit alone in the middle of an abhorrently inappropriate sitting room. As cruel as it sounded, Astrea had a sudden realization of how out of place she was.

As cruel as it sounded, new money screamed. All who ever told her that were right.

Unfortunate.

It was not a custom for the pureblood to celebrate this particular muggle holiday; Valentine’s Day. These kind of events was not fit for a young lady coming from an aristocratic pureblood family. The third year was old enough to know what romance was. This type of love was not for everyone. One being the Gryffindor herself. She believed that as a pureblood and dutiful to her family, she was not obliged for such childish romances.

After all, why had she the need to worry about attaining love when she was already betrothed?

The call for a Valentines gathering would have been dismissed by Aurelia if not for the incentives; three house points. Aurelia had not contributed to the cup of red and gold the month before leaving the Slytherins with the win. Although it was certainly not much, the least she could do was put in a few more points towards Gryffindor’s win.

The brunette picked out her outfit carefully, intending to make an impression in this event like many others. She slipped on a lovely lilac dress, the skirt brushing lightly at her calves with every strut, weaved her hair into a charming braid with a twirl of her wand before making her was to the event rendezvous.

The room, it was in a contemptible shade of pink. Hot, bright, eye gorging pink. The Lady Notrésvace pursed her lips, very much displeased with the distressing ambience as she stepped into the room. Her attendance was only required to achieve the house points. The fourteen year old planned to be on her way once she got her hands on a good cup of tea. For now, her appearance was necessary.

The girl’s alluring pair of blue-grey eyes scanned the vicinity for anyone she recognised and found the familiar face of her roommate, Xailah Alptraum who was seated across the room. Soon, her pleasant feature’s twisted downwards into a frown. Xailah was not at all the factor which detested but rather, her feline companion, Schrodinger. It was as if the sight of the allergen itself could trigger her allergies, Aurelia let out a small, stifled sneeze, “Aachee!

Her eyes now glared daggers at the furry creature. Almost five months it had been since Aurelia was accommodated into her dormitory. Despite the time they shared the dorm, the resentment she had against Schrodinger never faltered, nor did her allergies. She was pretty sure the feeling was mutual. Schrödinger seized every opportunity to test her patience.

Aurelia was certainly not venturing any closer to the allergen. So instead, she wandered to the back of the room where warm teapots of tea were located. She made a cup of chamomile tea for herself. The translucent steam wafted above the surface of the milky-flaxen coloured liquid. The comforting and nostalgic aroma meeting her nose.

However, the moment of rapture was short lived as Aurelia felt a familiar tingle on the back of her neck, the tiny hairs standing stiffly. The disquieting resentment complimented by a foreboding feeling settling in her gut. It was a feeling that the aspiring Monster Hunter was not unfamiliar with. Her head instinctively whipped around in search of the source.

Her gaze fell on dark haired girl with porcelain skin seated alone on one of the many pink couches. Astrea Neptune, one of her fellow members of the S.W.A.G club. The asian had been there, during the last game. The same aura was present then and only new did Aurelia finally drew the dots. Aurelia was well educated on pureblood politics and this girl, was one of nobility. In fact, like her, Astrea was another heir.

In a moment’s time, the brunette had made her way to the Neptune heir. Aurelia day across the girl. Goosebumps were forming on her skin, the terrible presence ever prominent. Yet she began, the formality accented in each word, “Astrea, I trust that you enjoyed last week’s game? I doubt you are waiting on a... date,” she then added with a sigh, “Our kind, aren’t obligated for... such concessions. If you understand what I mean that is.

Surely the pureblood understood what she meant. They both came from aristocratic families both which practiced old traditions. “My attendance is solely for the points, ” Aurelia claimed. And tea. You? she added.

It had been a nice day so far, or at least the Gryffindor could not complain. He had heard a lot of students making a fuss about something happening in the Small Hall today, but Alan did not have an ounce of a clue about what was supposed to happen in the Small Hall today. So curiosity got the better out of him and he made an appearance in the hall, looking around nervously until he caught eye of the decorations. He had no idea what happened in here, everything was pink. There was probably not a single spot in this room that was not pink.

He also saw a bunch of students gathering around and he was wondering what they were doing here, but he saw tea and biscuits on the table and were those scones?. He couldn't see them from so far away, so Alan actually did what he thought was the best in the moment, but would possibly regret later, he stepped into the room and closer to the table.

Once he caught sight of the professor responsible for this, he couldn't help but pale a little. Sure he had seen that there were flyers and posters in Hogwarts, where the professor had been advertising for something, but Alan had not bothered to read it; since it could not have been too great if it was something lead by her. Now he wished he had bothered to read through the flyers, if only for the sake that he could have known when to avoid the Small Hall at all cost. Yet here he was, feeling utterly lost, having to admit that while the colour scheme could blind him, the tea party she set up did not look too bad.

"Wh-what is going on here...", the third year muttered - maybe a bit too audible for his taste - as he glanced around, trying to figure out whether he knew some of the kids that had gathered and more importantly why they were here, only to realize that he barely recognized a couple of faces in the round. That for the fact of this being a nice day... he could only wonder what the professor had planned this time... and how she was able to lure so many kids to spend time with her.

Sola had never really been to a party before, so this was a big first for her. Hopefully, it would be a good experience, and not just her standing by herself at the tea table. Several people had come by to get tea, but no one had greeted her. She saw many groups and pairs of children interacting and laughing and having fun, but no one had acknowledged her. She wondered if it was the dress. Perhaps the oversized nature of it made her look silly. She knew it made her look silly, but she had put her trust in the hands of a Narcissa dorm second year Slytherin girl. What had she expected?

She decided if she wanted to speak to someone, she would have to take the initiative. So she looked over the room and sought out the first person she saw. Luckily, since this was a dressup party of sorts, no one was wearing their House colors. It seemed like a brand new opportunity to meet others without worrying about being judged for anything beyond her control. So, she walked right over to a boy she saw sitting relatively alone at a table.

"Hello," she said, holding out an awkward hand in greeting. "I'm Sola."

Ruka sighed deeply as Opeila pointed out that he might as well finish the tea now that he‘d already started it.
It was true, of course, if the tea was indeed spiked then the harm was already done.

He reached for the tea cup again, eyeing it suspiciously before taking a slow sip. „I‘ll hold you to that,“ he told Opeila with a grin when she told him she would make sure he didn‘t do anything stupid. „I really don‘t want to wake up with no memory of having thrown myself at half the student body.“ With a chuckle he leaned back in his seat, the cushions almost swallowing his skinny frame whole.

When Opeila talked about the possibility of him meeting a nice girl after all, Ruka pulled a face. He wasn‘t sure he really wanted to meet a girl at all; his one and only crush last year had been a boy, but nobody else since then had really caught his attention in that aspect, and for now he was quite content with that. „I think I‘ll stick to the tea and biscuits for now,“ he said, chuckling lightly.

Who needed a relationship when you could have sugary pastries instead?

Anyway, he was only twelve and not sure why he was supposed to be looking for a relationship yet in the first place.

Valentine‘s day was weird.

Ruka grinned and nodded at Opeila‘s - albeit slightly sarcastic - acceptance of her moody nature, lifting his tea cup and tilting it her way in a toast. „That’s the spirit! To all our flaws and those who will love us anyway,“ he said brightly, taking another sip of his tea once finished.
He was glad to see Opeila grinning, happy that she seemed to be enjoying his company. It had been a while since he‘d really spent time with someone other than his designated babysitter, and he had to admit it felt good to just talk to someone.

As he was about to say something else, he heard an unfamiliar voice in obvious confusion asking what was going on in here, and he tilted his head to look over at a Gryffindor boy he thought he may have seen in passing before, looking like he had just stumbled into the Hall by accident.
He guessed the whole spectacle had to be quite mind boggling to someone who hadn‘t really expected it - Even for himself it was a lot to take in despite having read the flyers beforehand.

Guess not everyone appreciates the theme here all that much,“ he pointed out to Opeila, laughing lightly as he nodded in the direction of the perplexed Gryffindor. „Can‘t say my reaction was much different when I first came in here.“

Walking into the small hall wearing a short tight fitting red dress, (that wasn't so tight that it would be too revealing) with a longer back that almost swept the floor and a Red Valentine's headband with hearts, Wren felt beautiful. Her mom had sent it special so that she could enjoy the holiday.

What her mom hadn't said was that she wanted Wren to get either a boyfriend or girlfriend today. Now, even though Wren had come out to her parents over Christmas break, that din't mean both of them were supportive. Her mom had embraced it, but her dad had shunned her and said she was no daughter of his. That had hurt her the most seeing as she was the closest to her dad, but she was just grateful that her mom was okay with it.

Composing herself again, she decided that today would be a good day and that she would have fun, make new friends, eat lots of food in general and just overall enjoy the day. After all it was Valentine's Day and she was at a party. (granted, it was a tea party but it was still a party none the less)

She walked in the door with her head held high, then spotted Evelynn, and Jack and a some more people she had already met. In Wren's mind Evelynn was the epitome of all things mean and smug. Though yes, that may have been a setback but Wren was not going to let it get to her. She decided she would start at the desert table and work her way around the room.

Laying stretched out on her bed, Nico watched the ceiling. Her loyal companion, Pip, had joined her and mimicked her pose. His tiny little paws only slightly sticking out from within his purple furr.

'I don't know, Pip. I don't even have anything decent to wear...' That was a straight up lie. The little dhampir had only received another few new outfits from her mother and Nico was just overwhelmed by the choices. 'Do I want... to look cute? Or elegant? Or...' Pursing her lips, she turned her head at the big box that her mail owl had dropped in earlier that day.

Pip shook his head, squeaking at her as if to say she had to follow her gut. Whichever you feel best and most confident in.

Throwing herself up from the bed, the redhead kneeled down besides the box, carefully digging through the multiple dresses. 'I do like blue... Blue would be nice.' Turning her head to Pip. 'I mean... there will probably be alot of pink so... might aswell break that color scheme, no?'

Pip folded his tiny arms and nodded in agreement. You couldn't see his arms, but you just knew. It was decided. 'Then we'll go with the marine one.'

Swiftly, Nico brushed her hair and for once, she put it up in a high ponytail. She usually didn't dare to play around with her hair but... for this Valentine event she was willing to make an exception. A primeur.
Her red hair combined with the royal blue of her marine like dress, were rather soothing to the eyes.

After what seemed forever, Nico ended up being fashionably late the Valentine occasion. She had even completely forgotten that this was an errand where students could get points for their house. It was... a good excuse if people asked why she was there. O-Oh! Just-Just for the points. Haha..ha Of course, the way to phrase that is still a work in progress.

Nearing the entrance of the small hall, the dhampir noticed a bright light coming from within the hall. Did they put spotlights in there? If so, she might have to pass this one... Or fight her way through it. When she finally looked inside the location of the event, she painfully noticed what the bright light was.

It was nothing more but the bright pink decorations that only one Professor could genuinly adore. Professor Bearsaregay... Ber-..Beercegay?... The Flying professor. Her dhampir skin got confused and started to hurt abit. Small scorch marks appeared on her bare arms which made her quickly hide in the nearby shadows. Her brain had to realise that this wasn't a harmful light. Maybe mentally, but not physically. Maybe she should've brought a sunhat and some sunglasses but... She would have to endure this illusion of light.

After taking some deep breaths, whispering a mantra on repeat, putting some cream on the scorched wounds, Nico straightened her back and flipped her ponytail over her back. Her iceblue eyes glanced at the hall as some more students entered the event. Luckily they didn't witness her little burn fiasco. She followed them shortly, trying to look confident in her stride. As a Prefect you had to look like someone you could depend on. Someone who seemed like they got it all together. She was grateful that her eyes and brain had finally adjusted to the murderously bright pink. Looking at her own dress every so often, the royal blue, was very soothing, as she had hoped.

Quickly, Nico took a seat near the entrance of the hall at a small table. Standing around and eyeballing people made her feel insecure and very out in the open. Nico blamed her sudden insecureties on the the unsetteling pink that seemed to put her on edge. Weird.

As she was trying to calm down, the redhead let her gaze slide over the multiple students. She recognised some but chose to stay by herself for now. Her anxiety had to be dealt with first before she could properly interact with others.
