With held breath, Pax stepped out onto the pitch with their team behind them. The summer had given them some much needed clarity on how to approach this season, and they were ready to do so with an open mind and emboldened spirit.

"Lions!" They called out, just before everyone rushed to their positions. "It's great to see so many familiar faces back this season, and to all our new members, welcome to the rush of the game! Now, I know we haven't had as much training as we'd usually have for the other teams, but that's alright, because we've got plenty of spirit to carry us on!"

The smile on their face carried on if Ethan had anything to pitch in to say, before they finished the speech. "Let's go, lions!"

Broom in hand, they steeled any remaining nerves. They were here for the love of the game, and that was going to show in the game today - they were going to make sure of that.

There was something about suiting up and stepping out onto the field that always brought a certain, specific thrill with it. The uncertainty and the excitement of what was to come mixing with the cheers of the crowd that encircled the stadium, coming together to form an almost intoxicating sense of anticipation. Mounting her broom, Avery takes a moment to survey the Hufflepuff team with a lopsided smile. Another year, another chance to hone their skills. They'd trained for this. "Alright, guys, lets get out there and show them what we've been working on!"

Sitting at the frontlines of a Quidditch match provided a different sort of adrenaline than sitting at the stands. Pam was, finally, actually a part of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. Well almost. She was a benches chaser after all. But it was still super exciting.

And absolutely darn scary.

Nevertheless, she had been waiting forever for this day, her first match as a benched player. Her father used to tell her that every successful step towards something you wanted to achieve was important to be savored. Pam would do good on that saying today.

Pam scanned over the other players on the benches. Not a lot of familiar faces; besides Avery and Gabriele. She raised her hand to wave shyly at the two, feeling rather jittery as she sat down. She was hopeful for a fun game, even if she wasn't playing in it.

A new year and a new tournament.

Camilla had not had the opportunity to take on Gryffindors the last time, as she had not made it onto the team yet. But they were supposed to be the house of the noble, os likely they would not see the rampant cheating that spattered games like Durmstrang's for example.

This was their year. She could feel it.

Students from each house have gathered together to root for their teams, like usual. He jumps up from his place and cheers along with the team: “Let's go, Lions!”

The first game of term had finally arrived, and with the help of gods themselves Gabriele had somehow succeeded with his plan. He was on the quidditch team… Second string beater, but still. Gabi could technically be counted as a jock bro now. It had only been a month since he practiced himself bloody (literally) with the goal of ending up on this part of the stadium someday. Today was the day.

Gripping his Nimbus a little tighter, his whole body practically buzzing with anticipation, Gabi climbed the steps to the benches. His gaze immediately darted toward the opposing team’s side, and that’s when his eyes nearly bugged out of his head. Among the experienced players, he spotted a familiar first-year face. Fred. That first year he'd been practicing with a month ago.

“You’ve got to be kidding me…” he muttered under his breath. First years were allowed on the Quidditch team now? Seriously? He was only one year ahead and already behind. That was… so fucking embarrassing. At least he wasn’t the only one benched. No one else he knew was around yet, though it didn’t take long after he sat down before Pamela appeared. He waved her over, mildly surprised to see her — he must’ve forgotten she’d made the team too.

“Hey, Pam! Call me stupid (don’t), but what position are you playing again?”

Callum stretched out on the bench as the game kicked off, a familiar rush of anticipation humming in his chest. Quidditch had always been his favorite part of Hogwarts life — nothing compared to the roar of the stands or the electric energy pulsing through the crowd. The sight of players clashing midair never failed to thrill him… at least until he was the one sent spinning from a collision. With a grin tugging at his lips, Callum leaned his broom against the bench beside him and settled in, ready for the chaos to unfold.

Sage shivered as she tightened her grip on her broom. First game of the season, her first game as a first-string beater. She took a moment to acquaint herself with the stadium, the dreaded feeling that her team could lose yet again pounding in the back of her head. They'd never won a game during her time on the team. She hoped every game would be different, feeling a sense of déjà vu hitting her as she began wishing for the same thing. "Here we go," she whispered as the game drew closer to starting.

Taking a slow inhale, Atlas allowed the cool autumn air to fill her lungs. The season had always served to relax her but she found that she didn't feel particularly nervous. If anything, she was excited for the game to begin. There were only a few games left in her Hogwarts career and she intended to make each of them count. Atlas vehemently hoped for some semblance of consistency over the season and had rigorously trained to get herself ready. But now there would be no hiding. The game was set to begin and she was determined to serve as a defensive wall for her precious goalposts.

Adjusting her grip on her broom as she took up her position, Atlas scanned the pitch. She took in the postures and demeanor of her teammates, smiling confidently at each. A slow trickle of adrenaline began to elevate her as the anticipation began to build. She anticipated a fast paced and aggressive game. It was rare that they weren't, but she felt ready for it. The crisp fall weather had her mind clear and focused on the task at hand. In the pandemonium, she would keep her eyes fixed on the field to give her team the best chance they had. Tilting her head to the side, Atlas smiled as she cracked her neck. With a final slow exhale, Atlas relaxed her body as she got ready for the game to begin.

10% chance to automatically block an attempt to score a goal as long as the Keeper is in the goal area. If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a team mate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separately from the attack roll.

Broom: Varapidos (+3 to all stats) (Enganação. This literally means "cheat" and is a basically the art of sleight of hand for Brazilian Quiddich players. When a Quiddich player attempts to use the "cheat" action where they attempt to cast a spell while in a game, they succeed once per game automatically. Must declare alongside cheat action. All subsequent attempts to cheat have a 10% automatic "not noticed by the spectators" effect.)
