A Silent Train Ride
September 1st | Hogwarts Express
After saying goodbye to her parents on the platform, Milica entered the Hogwarts Express radiating confidence. To no surprise, her father seemed to have held up well on Platform 93/4. This was the second time he had gone back to the Wizarding World after being outcast by his family, the first time being to take Milica and her mother shopping at Diagon Ally, and Milica had wondered about the effect it would have on him. Well, no tears were shed by either her or her parents, but tight hugs were given. It was now time to take the next step in her wizarding career: find a place to sit, preferably in an empty compartment with no people around.
Luckily, the girl had arrived early, and there were many empty compartments left. Milica imagined that the back-most compartments were most probable to stay empty, so she made her way all the way over to the back of the train without stopping to check the compartments she walked past.
Finding one of the last compartments, Milica slid open the door silently before walking in and closing it again. The train seemed surprisingly old school, two long fabric sofas facing each other with a large window in the middle. It had an authentic feel to it which already made Milica feel quite at home. She liked the historical flair.
Milica finally sat down in the back corner of the compartment, straightened out her dark brown jumper and her black skirt, opened her trunk and took a book out of it. The girl would have to pass the time somehow. Besides, having a book on her lap would help her ignore people if they were to walk into her compartment for any reason. The book she chose to read is Little Women, a book she had finished reading multiple times already. For some reason, the journeys of the girls in the book resonated with her. She couldn't get enough of it.
The energy in the compartment turned calm and peaceful as Milica started reading her book, just the way she preferred. All she could hope was that she wouldn't be bothered. Would that be too much to ask?

Ah, it was finally time to go back to her second home, Hogwarts! It was wonderful, getting on that train again, talking and chatting the whole way, and then going to Hogwarts! It was wonderful! She had had so much fun over the summer, and now school was starting. She would learn new spells, new potions, and of course, meet the new first years and it is equals to new friends.
Before boarding the train, Alliasta said goodbye to her family. And, of course, to the relatives who had come to see her off. Their ties of kinship were strong, but being so crowded attracted the attention of those around her. Finally, after saying goodbye to everyone, she boarded the train. There were already many people in most places.
After a little while, she saw a girl sitting alone, reading a book. Her hair looked beautiful. And of course, instead of moving further to find an empty seat, Alliasta entered the girl's compartment. She had a big smile and a confident expression. She had a suitcase with her and her pet, Kaito, sleeping in his cage.
"Hello hello! I saw this place was almost empty and wanted to come! because the other places seemed full."
But Alliasta didn't even wait for an answer, sat down, put her suitcase down next to her, and carefully placed the cage on the seat. Then, smiling again, she turned to the girl and held out her hand. She spoke a little louder.
"I'm Alliasta! I hope I'm not bothering you. Nice to meet you in advance, and your hair is beautiful! It's so straight compared to my curly hair."

A Silent Train Ride
September 1st | Hogwarts Express
Before long, the inevitable happened. She had gotten her hopes up, hearing other students walk past her compartment. Unfortunately, she was let down as Milica finally heard the door to her compartment slide open. She slowly looked up from her book and watched as a beautiful girl walk in. So beautiful in fact, that Milica didn't want to look away.
She was snapped back into reality when the girl started speaking. All the other compartments were apparently full. Milica noticed the girl's big smile and confident expression, and her hopes of a quiet train ride kept diminishing more and more. All she could hope was that the girl would not think of striking further conversation with her.
Before Milica could even respond to the girl's entrance, she took her seat across from her. Only then, Milica noticed she had a pet with her. It was a brown ferret which was asleep for now. She barely finished scanning the ferret with her eyes when the girl suddenly held out her hand.
Milica learned from experience not to shake hands with people. Therefore, she simply shot the girl a judgy look, hoping she would understand the hint and retract her hand. The girl introduced herself as Alliasta and surprisingly complimented her hair. My hair? Has she ever looked into a mirror?
The young girl felt slightly embarrassed actually, getting a compliment from this beautiful girl. She may have even blushed a little, but she did not react any further. It could not do to show weakness: her bored mask wasn't easily seen through. Finally, she decided to at least introduce herself out of courtesy. "Milica," she said with a nod, before getting back into her book. Even though she may have felt a little awkward, from the outside, she looked as composed as ever.

A Silent Train Ride
Natasha stood in front of the barrier to reach platform 9 and 3/4.
She was scared, of course, but with there being only 8 minutes for the train to depart (blame her brother), she had no time to waste, and simply sent a quick prayer hoping that this was not some extremely elaborate prank by her family, before closing her eyes and running through the wall.
She opened her eyes and gasped, the Hogwarts Express was beautiful! She was ever so excited to get to Hogwarts. There were a lot of parents around, but most of the students had already boarded the train.
Her dad nudged her, pointing towards the clock, gesturing for her to get on the train on time.
She quicky lugged her trunk onto the train, and started searching for an empty compartment. Most of them were full, but as she reached near the end of the train, she spotted a compartment with only two girls inside.
She hesitated for a moment, wondering whether she should look further, but there were bare minutes for the train to leave, and she really wanted to be settled in before it did. She slid open the door, and entered, saying, "Hey, Can I sit here? Everywhere else is full."

Oh, so this girl didn't want to shake my hand? I wonder what her reasons are? Hmm, that's not an obstacle to being friends anyway!
Alliasta grinned at her own thoughts. But the girl's voice brought her back to reality.
"Milicia huh? Hmm nice name I never had heard that before. So very cool! Do you like read? I love too but I love drawing more. And ah also my favorite color is orange. You know it is like between joy of yellow and lust of red mixed! What about your favorite color?"
Alliasta wasn't prejudiced against complete strangers, but she generally avoided those she considered unsavory. She acted as if she knew people's energies. If her instincts were to like someone, she would definitely approach them without hesitation. Her survival instincts were a bit weak, but since the possibility of meeting a new person was greater than the possibility of encountering a bad person, she didn't really care.
But then Alliasta heard the door open and looked to the side. A new smile lit up her face. She immediately shifted to the side, but then glanced at Milicia. Alliasta hadn't asked if it was okay when she got in. She had gotten in right away. And Milicia hadn't objected. If she didn't want to, she would have, right? With that assumption, she smiled at the new, nervous, and cute girl.
"Oh I dont think it would be a problem at all! I am very open to new friends with me hehe."

When Alliasta saw that her eagerly extended hand wasn't shaken, she raised an eyebrow and looked at her hand first. She thought maybe she'd touched some dirt while boarding the train, but then, when she realized the girl wouldn't want to shake her hand, she had an epiphany.
Oh, so this girl didn't want to shake my hand? I wonder what her reasons are? Hmm, that's not an obstacle to being friends anyway!

A Silent Train Ride

Nothing in the world could've prepared her for this scenario. All Milica wanted was to sit in the train, read or even take a nap, arrive at Hogwarts and go to sleep again. Instead she now was presented with a girl who managed to go on and on about.. well everything. Honestly, Milica couldn't care less about what she was saying. She already knew her name was unique in the United Kingdom, having had it for eleven years. She loves to read, but what would it matter to her that the other girl loves drawing more? Lastly, she does not care for the color orange at all. What did I do to deserve this.. she wondered.
"I couldn't care less for your favorite color. And does your mouth ever stop producing words?" she asked the excited girl in front of her. At this point, it was clear she wouldn't stop talking. Perhaps it would be a good idea to entertain her for a little bit: then she would most certainly stop bothering her, right? "And for your information, my favorite color is brown, like the color of mud that will trap you if you sink too deep."
Hopefully that would set the tone, and the girl would back off. Unfortunately for her though, she realized even more trouble was on the horizon when she heard the door opening again. In the opening stood another girl carrying her luggage. She had a slightly darker skin tone, especially compared to herself, brown eyes and black hair. The girl walked in before asking if she could sit with them. Before Milica could even respond, she already heard Alliasta telling her it's not a problem at all. "Someone rescue me from these people," Milica whispered underneath her breath, before telling the other girl off rudely. "Most people would ask to sit down before walking in, not after."
Milica was pretty sure the situation couldn't get much worse. Honestly, perhaps it's for the best that the other girl walked in. Perhaps she could keep Alliasta busy, giving herself time for either a nap or some reading. For now, the best response would be to put the book away and look out of the window, not showing that she was listening but listening nonetheless. After all, the more she could find out about them without them finding out about her, the stronger her position would be in this dynamic.

A Silent Train Ride
"Oh I don't think it would be a problem at all! I am very open to new friends with me hehe."
Natasha smiled, still nervous, but feeling more confident. She settled in more comfortably, positioning herself so that she had a clear view out of the window, and smiled at the girl. She seemed a bit older than Natasha, and she couldn't help but wonder what year she was in.
"Most people would ask to sit down before walking in, not after."
Just like that, her hopes came shooting down, "Well, my first attempt at getting to know other witches and wizards hasn't not been a complete disaster yet" she thought to herself, rather sarcastically. For a brief moment she considered leaving the carriage, but quickly shook the idea out of her mind. "So what if i meet one rude girl, I'm not gonna run away from her"
Resolving to stay in the carriage, she grinned sheepishly and apologized, "Sorry, but everywhere else really WAS full."
Then, she noticed the book in the rude girl's hand, and decided that she might as well try and be a bit more friendly, perhaps the girl was just shy? "What book are you reading right now? Do you like reading?"
Suddenly, she realized she didn't know either of theirs name, and neither of them knew hers. "I'm Natasha, by the way," she added.
