The third year was quite happy about how things were going, he hit his target and watched as she was forced to sneeze. Alan was never hit with this spell before, but he imagined the sensation to be very annoying. He never even used it on someone else before, so he felt rather lucky and content with the fact that he managed to cast it correctly. That was all the fuel he needed to know that they could actually win this, watching as other people from his team also hit some of their targets and the opponents flag lit up with fire.
However his team was not the only one doing damage and when he saw from the corner of his eyes a boy that jumped in front of the flag pole to shield it from damage and getting hit by a Fire spell in the process, worry lit up in his eyes. "A-are you okay?", he asked with concern, as he looked over to the boy, who appeared to be a Ravenclaw. "J-jorah, right?", that is at least what the girl from the other team called out, as soon as the Ravenclaw was hit by a spell. The girl seemed to be panicking as well, but another girl from her team walked over to help her. Alan hoped that she would be fine, maybe they were friends with the boy on his team? Alan was just happy that the taller Raven seemed to be okay, the fire had been put out by the wind as it seemed or maybe the spell just was not as bad as he assumed.
Waiting for him to reply, he then turned around to focus on his next action, scanning the area with his eyes. One thing caught his attention and he got ready to act.

"Incendio!" Clearly emphasizing on the key elements of the spell so he surely wouldn't fail his spell, Neculai almost jubilated as he succesfully casted the spell! These moments were moments he cherished as there weren't alot of moments where he could actually use what he learned, field experimenting as it was. But his excitement melted away like snow in the sun as he realised that he hadn't burned the pole, but instead he had burned one of his fellow House members!
If he only could get any paler then he already was. Looking over at his team members a few words left his lips: "I- I didn't mean for that to happen! I-I aimed for the pole, I swear!" Blood red eyes recognised who the brown haired Raven was. Not only had he burned a fellow Raven, but also a fellow Quidditch player, as he identified him as Jorah. Temporarily defeated by the misfire, a gasp escaped him as cold wind blew out the fire. Relief filled him as he analysed the boy to be okay.
Once more he raised his cherrywooden wand, this time he'd do it right. This time not only to prove to his fellow team members that he was an asset to the team, but also to prove to himself that he could be an asset!

”INCENDIO!”
A cry of pure joy left the young Ravenclaw dressed Gryffindor as he witnessed the most splendid sight; a blasting gout of orange, red, and a touch of blue and green flames left the tip of his wand and flew across the area, colliding with the oak pole of the opposing team, licking at the wood and charring at some of the sides, dealing a bit of damage to the wood.
A giddy smile crossed Piérre’s face as he eagerly watched the tongues of flame feed on the pole, fueled by the tough wood. His sheer determination and excitement must have been just enough to negate the fear which had lain heavily on his heart up to that point. It was a brilliant thing, to watch magic at work, and he had just cast his very first spell outside of class, successfully! No strings attached!
”I did it!” He shouted excitedly, watching the flames grow for a tantalizing moment. He glanced around the arena to find that their flag had taken a hit as well, and was crackling with flames like a bonfire. Piérre’s ears lowered. It looked so much more brilliant and powerful than his own had been, undoubtedly cast by a much more powerful caster than himself. He let the glowing light shine across his face before turning back to the pole to see how his own flames were faring.
With a freak gust of wind, the small embers of his proud little fires were snuffed out like matchsticks.
Piérre’s glowing green eyes changed in a second from light and merry to a look that a depressed puppy would get. His little flames hadn’t even made a dent.
Less than a moment later, the whole pole of the blue team burst into flames, and they stayed, fervent and ravenous, swallowing every bit of wood it could get its greedy lips on. Oh, if only he could have done something cool like that, instead of being left with a few measly sparks!
The rest of his team seemed to be downtrodden, no doubt by the predicament they were placed in. One girl had gone flying by a miscast spell, a boy had briefly been on fire, and one girl was comforting another girl who was laying prone on the ground. Piérre was bamboozled. Were people supposed to be this terrified of a small game? It didn’t seem to make sense. Everything seemed to point back to the girl with the unnerving presence, but Piérre didn’t believe that she was the source of all the misfortune. It just didn’t make sense. She was only as old as he and she seemed rather quaint. If anything, Piérre was intrigued by her and the power she seemed to emit.
Oh well, no time to be thinking logically, there was a game of chaos afoot, and Piérre wanted to make the best of it while he could. This was probably going to be the only chance he would get to use offensive spells outside of class, and he wanted to really make his inner magic shine!
Noticing the amount of fire that was being flung about, Piérre yanked off his precious blue and black scarf, bundling it up and throwing it into the safety of a bush nearby. Yes, there was still a risk of the bush bursting into flame, but it would be safer there than if he was wearing it, a potential target of the people on the opposite team... and his own.
Puffing his cheeks and dashing a few meters away from his location to keep his muscles from growing cold and being unable to avoid any attacks, Piérre twirled his yew wand again, trying to get himself into the correct frame of mind as his fingers nervously played across the surface of the allegedly deadly wood. With a loyal snallygaster core, however, Piérre was sure that it would do its job as a loyal accomplice and achieve what he desired of it. His target was in sight, all he had to do now was invoke the correct words and flick his wand just so, and aim correctly, and his second successful spell would be in his back pocket!

Evelynn hadn't been particularly impressed with Erik's "ground rules". Not getting in anyone's way would be easier said than done in what she suspected would quickly devolve into an every-man-for themselves sort of fight, not too dissimilar to the shuntbumps affair. Only this time, at least they technically had a common goal. But if he honestly thought everyone would be following his example, he had another thing coming.
She didn't dwell on it long, however. What felt like only seconds later, a burst of sparks flew into the air signaling the start of the game. It was on. And all of a sudden, the pitch erupted into chaos as shouts from people across, beside and behind her all merged together. Spells whizzed past her, lights shot in front of her. Evelynn ducked and dodged, but with a singular goal in mind.
Burn the flag.
"Incendio!" She shouted, adding her own voice to the cacophony.
Flame shot from her wand effortlessly to streak across the pitch. With almost perfect aim, it struck the flag. Unfortunately, the effect was not quite as she had hoped for. It struck, burning a hole in the fabric, but didn't catch very well. No matter. She'd have to shove the perceived failure from her mind and move on to stage two. She opened her mouth, raising her wand for a new spell when she was suddenly struck squarely by a green jet.
Surprised, she peeled her gaze to search for the attacker. Not that she could. They didn't make themselves easily known.
"Ha!" She laughed, feeling no effect of the spell. "Nice try, but it didn't....didin't...oh no..."
She could feel the tickle at the back of her nose. Small at first, but building quickly and with a force that made her eyes water.
"ACHOO!" The sneeze ripped through her, causing her almost to double over. She'd been hexed. "Achoo!" Another one. "I'll...Ah'll... Getchooo!"
For a solid few seconds, Evelynn found herself preoccupied with trying to avoid the chaos of bodies and spells ─ friendly and otherwise ─ slinging around her while also contending with the unpleasantness of the fit. She wasn't about to let a little sneezing stop her though. Wiping away the tears ─ and snot ─ from her face long enough to see, she waited for an opportune time to cast again.

»»————————- ♔ ————————-««The white noise of nature faded into the background as everyone fell silent, watching diligently for the telltale signal from the game leader. With a single sight of red sparks, the game area suddenly burst into a cacophony of noise and colour that rivalled any of the experimentally foul potion her mother ever brewed in the Lady Chou's study. Spells of all types flew through the air to hit their targets- intentioned or not- and Astrea was not excluded.
In seconds, the pureblood whipped out her wand and aimed at the cocksure blonde with gleaming green eyes and a blackthorn wand still held out, a red jet of light flying into the fog of a team that was Astrea's.
With a skillful wave of her wand in the quirking motion of the knockback jinx, the Neptune-Chou heir paid no mind to the scowl now emblazoned on her opponent's face, surely a warning sign not to aim. But Astrea was not a fool, she knew payback would be dealt. And as much of a fool she was not, a shrivelling coward wasn't how to describe her either. "Flipendo!"
No sooner did the banging yellowish light leave her cherry wooden wand did a sudden orange jet of light catch her directly in the chest, sending her stumbling back a few steps. A free hand came up to clutch at the struck area, her breath hitching in her numbing lungs and warming her chin as the shallow gasps trapped themselves in her scarf. Curses, the softening charm. Whether or not it was an accident alluded her, but the person who had stolen her breath from her would soon enjoy a bit of revenge.
Speaking of revenge, the aristocrat's line of sight jerked back toward the boy she deliberately aimed at, a spark of pride sparkling in her unfeeling chest as she glimpsed the other pounding upon the floor in a rage, green eyes locking with grey. Astrea stood unfalteringly, miraculously unscathed in the middle of the battle of magic apart from the empty coldness leeching off her chest, the chilly air nipping at the corners of her scarf and pulling it down just enough to see a corner of her lower face.
Astrea could practically feel the venomous glare with a sharpness that was akin to dragging a slow finger down the edge of a newly sharpened knife, saw the readiness cording through the other's body. A mischievously dangerous Chesire grin split open her face and her eyes seemed to shine molten silver at the infuriation the other directed toward her, a direct contrast from the normally blank porcelain mask she wore normally.
In the midst of the warzone of a playing field, the shock of blue fabric briefly distracted her and the thought of her next move swirled in her mind. Yet for the moment there was something a bit more important, and a whole lot more dangerous, staring down at her like an apex predator. It would have to wait, just a tad longer.
Ah, she made no mistake. This was enthralling.Action: Doing as strategized.

The same feeling of excitement and nervousness built in River’s belly as the game had just begun. It was the exact feeling she’d felt during their previous game of shuntbumps, and that had gone quite well in contrary to her expectations. This game was quite different though, it wasn’t all v all, but rather team based. And the dhampir could work with that, even if teamwork wasn’t her thing in the sense of school projects, she still enjoyed working as a team in other activities.
Something told River she wouldn’t be as lucky in this game as their last though, as her first attempt at a spell withered and failed quite miserably right in front of her eyes. Damn it, sh thought as she watched the flag stay unaffected of the spell she’d just attempted. Luckily, some other students had managed to get the flag burning, but it didn’t seem like they had the upper hand at all so far.
The other team had gotten pretty threatening in River’s opinion. Their spells had done quite the impact already, and the flag was on fire like it was supposed to be used for grilling s’mores. Students were getting targeted as well, but River could not get her mind of her pathetic attempt at incendio duo. She weighed her options of her next move before she landed on a decision and gave her wand a flick as she attempted to cast her next spell of choice.Action || doing as strategized

Jorah positioned himself between his flag and the opposing team. "If you want our flag, you'll have to go through me!," Jorah called across the field. He held his arms outstretched and waited for the punishment to come. Don't flinch, don't you dare flinch you coward. Did Jorah have a death wish? No, far from it. Ever since the masquerade, he'd been having terrible nightmares. When he closed his eyes, he saw a raging inferno, felt the piercing agony of a knife, and heard Ruthie screaming. On the worst nights, he saw Ruthie's lifeless eyes staring back at him before a giant hand grabbed Jorah by the neck and then darkness. Jorah would crash back into consciousness, heart racing, drenched in sweet, and throwing fists against an invisible foe.
This had to stop. He needed to talk to someone, but Ruthie was avoiding him. The only other person he had was Shauna, but her sudden death was another psychological blow his wasn't ready for. Jorah no longer felt safe at Hogwarts. Learning Kung Fu from Gris was helping, but he still felt too vulnerable. You couldn't witness his unease just by looking at him because of his reaction formation. His defense mechanism was to act like he was in control, always. Jorah was going to give the Gryffindors a run for their money when it came to senseless bravado. He was going to fake it until he made it, or atleast until he got hit so often that he wasn't afraid anymore.
The spells came flying towards him. Don't blink. Jorah stared down the bolt that struck him. The impact wasn't as bad as he expected, but panic quickly ensued as flames licked through his robes. The fire from the Masquerade ball flashed back into his mind. He frantically patted at the flames as a cold gust of wind blew them out. The small fire had burned a hole through his cloak and left him minorly singed. Adrenaline pumped through his veins. Jorah wanted to cry and run away, but then came two teammates running to check on him. “Hey, you okay, mate? Looked pretty bad, yeah?”, Rafael inquired followed by "A-are you okay? J-jorah, right?," from Alan. Jorah was not ok, but without skipping a beat he puffed out his chest. "It's nothing the hospital wing can't fix. Yeah, I'm Jorah. We can meet and greet after we win. Now let's take down their flag!"

Like every spell he practiced he did it with perfection and faked confidence. "Spongify!" Removing as much of his accent as possibly. The word was uttered along with a practically flawless wand movement. It was aimed directly at the flag pole to weaken it. Everything was right until..."AAAH! Me eyes!!" He almost cursed his arm flailing about right as the spell shot out. He didn't know where the spell was flung. He just knew that for some brief moments he could not see thanks to the sparks spell. Rubbing his eyes to try and get his vision back in a vainless attempt. The boy did his best to listen to the commotion around him.
If he could be useful he would be, he may be momentarily blinded but he wasn't useless. He just needed to get himself calm enough and keep his bottled up anger in check. If he could do those two things then no matter what Quinn could still be in this thing. Stumbling about slowly with careful steps Quinn intended to be as useful as possible no matter the cost.
