A Tinge of Teal

Beth looked at the girl with a quizzical expression. Did she want her hair dyed? Her Mum used to dye her hair and refused to ever do Beth's saying that she didn't want to put chemicals in her quite luxurious and thick hair and Beth usually agreed, but at this moment she felt the need to just forget what her Mother advises her to do and just do what she wants. She wasn't here to stop her now. She placed her hair in between her fingers and ran it through her hands a couple of times through. She did like her hair.

"It wouldn't hurt my hair that much, right?" She looked back up at the girl who had offered the opportunity. the dark-eyed witch then darted her eyes to the girl who's hair was still going through the process of dying to see if her hair had already started to fall out in clumps. "I am rather fond of it."

Beth walked to the sink where the auburn-haired girl had placed the dyes in rainbow order which she found quite aesthetically pleasing and took a look over all the colors. A bright blue caught her eye, then an electric pink but her eyes settled on a deep and sophisticated green.

"A streak wouldn't do anything bad to my hair, right?" Beth uttered to no one really but herself before taking the bottle and turning to face the two girls with a flash of her genuine smile. "Can I have this color, please?" She paused before adding "I'm Beth Merryweather, first-year Slytherin by the way."

"Nah, all of my dyes are gentle and built for your hair. My hair would be dead if I didn't take care of it. I can give you a special shampoo if you want to keep it super healthy though." Katrina didn't want to scare the new girl away. "If you are worried about it damaging your hair I can do a mixer that is built to hydrate it rather than dry it out."

Katrina looked at the deep green. The girl certainly had taste. Katrina looked at the container, "This one is only a few days dye by the way. It will last for a few days then fade out." Katrina figured that was probably best for the girl if she was nervous anyways.

"I'm Katrina Walker, Second Year, Slytherin. And she is Teiki" Katrina gestured to Teiki who had her hair still in the plastic wrap. She only had a few minutes, as soon as she got the other girl started, she would finished up Teiki's dye.

"So, if you still want to have it dyed-- wash how ever much you want in the sink there. Then you will put the Vaseline on your hair line and ears so the dye doesn't stain it. " Katrina got another towel and handed it to her. "Teiki can show you where to put the Vaseline while I set up the dye" Katrina turned around and began to prime the dye.

She let Katrina do most of the talking. She stayed silent, letting the person who actually knew about the subject do the talking. She glanced down at the strip of hair, nodding happily at the color. She turned and waved towards the newcomer, completely forgetting whether she had already done so.

Nonetheless, she watched Katrina prepare the girl, her attitude seeming to have become a little more docile to not scare off the gray eyed girl. Teiki took a step back from the two, letting them figure out what they wanted to do. She just had to wait for the dye to be ready, or at least, that was currently the step she was on. She wondered if perhaps there were a few more steps afterwards.

She perked up at her name, nodding as Katrina told her what to do. If the girl decided to go along and dye her hair, Teiki would wait for a bit. Allowing the girl to wash the part of hair she wanted to do.Then, Teiki would quickly grab the container, handing it to the girl.

“So, you want to put it at the base of your hairline so that the dye doesn’t stay and color it.” She indicated where on her own face, although lightly. She didn’t want to potentially hurt the dye that was currently drying.

May entered the girl's lavatory. She actually needed a new look to go to the Great Hall. She wondered if she could even do it. One thing you should know about May is that she doesn't know how to do a good hair look. The only thing she knew, was to braid her own hair, or do herself a pony tail. Before entering, she let her bag in a corner, and entered the Girl's lavatory.
When May entered, she had found a surprise. It was three girls, doing their hair up. Or that it seemed.
She smiled to them. ''Hi! I came here to make up my hair. I just came from flying, and my hair is a mess'' she said, smiling. Yes, her hair was a very big mess. Her bald was in a different place, her bow in her usual pony tail was almost undone, plus her pony tail was falling out of place.

Before she knew, she looked in the mirror. ''Oh, yes, I'm a total mess''. Anyways, she smiled and picked up her brush. Her green eyes were actually worried, because maybe she could do a fool of herself in front of all the other girls. She kept brushing.

Katrina stepped over to Teiki. "I think it is about time to take the dye out," she smiled.

Katrina stepped over to the sink and wetted a hand towel from her dye equipment. She handed it to Teiki and explained that she needed to use that to wipe off the dye and then she could either wash her hair in the sink, or use the one shower in the lavatory.

The Gryffindor turned to the girl who introduced herself as Beth. She was still busy, Katrina whipped around to see another girl enter the bathroom. Katrina remembered her name as May. She spoke fast and Katrina only caught about half of what she said.

"We are dying our hair, if that is what you mean." Katrina paused, "I could do your hair, or, if you really want, I could dye it," Katrina, among other things, was pretty good with hair.

She played the piano for a year before coming here. The 12-year-old was talented at drawing (though not so much at writing). And she was a good listener. But when it came to hair, Katrina was pretty experienced. There were many days that a bunch of people from her muggle school would have her over to do their hair for a school dance or a special night. She was also the one to dye people's hair. Though, she never cut anyone's hair, besides her own.

Katrina saw a bit of emotion in May's eyes and wondered if anything was wrong. She took a few steps towards her, aware that the other girls had something to do. "Want a hand?" Katrina said gesturing to the brush. The least she could do it brush it for the girl.

Grace entered the Girl’s Lavatory to find girls dying their hair "𝚄𝚖𝚖𝚖 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘? 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚍𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚑𝚊𝚒𝚛?" Grace walked up to a mirror beside them, she could change her hair without dye, she was a Metamorphmagus. Grace changed her hair to a pastel purple and made her hair shoulder-length, she looked at herself in all angles "𝙸 𝚕𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚒𝚝!" she thought in a quiet voice. Grace looked at the one of the girls hair, she had auburn hair with a teal streak in her hair, Grace assumed she was the one who was dying the girls hair.

Grace looked at her hair again, she added a few curls at the end of her hair, it looked cuter that way. Grace smiled, she brushed out her hair a bit "𝙲𝚞𝚛𝚕𝚜 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚛𝚞𝚜𝚑" Grace said, but she refused to take the curls out. Grace applied a bit of lip gloss, fixed her robes but didn’t leave yet. "𝙸'𝚖 𝙶𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚎, 𝙶𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚎 𝙼𝚒𝚗𝚝! 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝'𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚗𝚊𝚖𝚎?" Grace asked, putting a bobby pin in her hair since her hair kept getting in Grace’s face. Grace pulled a piece of parchment, leaned on the wall and wrote something with her quill with her blue ink. Grace shoved the parchment into her bag, and brushed her hair a bit more.

Katrina greeted the two new girls. "Yep, I'm dying their hair" the Gryffindor pointed to Beth and Teiki. She explained how to finish up for Teiki before turning back to the newcomer.

Just as she was about to offer, Boomerang walked in. Boomerang was her relatively new orange fluffball of a kitten. No matter what she did, he would always find his way to her. She stooped down to pick him up and realized why his fur wasn't so orange. A thick layer of dust covered him.

"Gah! Where have you been!" she choked and let out a loud sneeze. She spun to the sink and washed him off, much to his dislike. Boomerang shared his dislike for the water with a few deep scratches to her arm. The wounds quickly began to bleed and the lioness bit her lip. It hurt badly.

She grabbed a few paper towels and washed off her arm, placing the paper on her arm like a bandage. Tear prickled in the back of her eyes and they welled up. "Aw man! I really should go... He" Katrina almost growled as she pointed at her innocent looking kitten, "Needs to go back to my room. And now my arm is bleeding. And I just remembered I have to work on prepping for that huge Defense Against the Dark Arts test." the excuse was rambling.

She hurriedly packed up the bottles and shoved them in her organizer. She took the towels in one arm and the snapped close organizer in the other. "If you want, we can come back next weekend and I can do all your hair?" she waited for them to respond before darting out.

The Gryff dumped her stuff on her bed in her dorm and wrapped up her bleeding arm in a bandage. It was a shame she didn't get to the other girl's hair. Hopefully they would take her up for the offer next weekend.

Teiki decided to wash her hair in the sink. It made it easier to watch the people coming and going within the bathroom. Apparently, a lot had suddenly found the need to come here. Which was fine, except it had started to get crowded with all the people and tools necessary for dying hair. She was glad that Katrina had been so kind about it, and thanked the older year repeatedly.

She had begun to dry off her hair with some paper towels. After all, didn't really want to stain the towel. It was then that the cat walked into the room. It was already rather crowded, but Teiki didn't notice. Instead, she watched the furball curiously, giving it a small smile. She noticed the dust almost at the same time as the Gryffindor. The raven-haired girl with a new pink streak in her hair took a step back, allowing Katrina some room. Not that there was much room to give.

The cat scratched her, so Teiki extended some paper towels towards her. But, she had already started to run off. Teiki decided it was because she needed to get the cut properly washed off before the Gryffindor could do anything more. She gave a small apologetic smile to the others who had walked in.

"I don't really know how to dye hair. Sorry!" She started to clean up the space a bit, before leaving the room.
