Silvy sighed a breath of relief for the redheaded boy, as it appeared he would not be written up. Obnoxious, maybe, but it didn't seem deserved, so she was glad. She only hoped he would stay in line the rest of the trip, at least, like the prefect said. She had learned that the prefect's name was Luca, and the boy's was Ollamie, although Luca didn't seem to think this was his real name... She supposed if she stuck around, she might find out who was really telling the truth here.
There was a silence in the car, after Luca's semi-threatening exchange with the boy. Silvy watched as a girl sitting the compartment eyed Ollamie, who was lifting a weight and eating Bertie Botts Beans at the same time. She seemed to be contemplating his offer to try one, although nervous. Silvy, still leaning against the doorway, wanted to break the silence.
"So, Ollamie, is it? Mind if I try a bean?" She made eye contact with the girl with the brown hair and smiled, telling her, "Not sure about these either to be honest, but we could try them together?"
She had noticed the girl's hesitation towards the beans, but something in her eyes made Silvy think she really wanted to try them. She thought, what was the worst that could happen? She would try them, too!
Silvy also was thinking that, she'd already inserted herself into a conversation that wasn't hers... so she guessed she might as well try to make friends. She glanced around the compartment as well, taking in the different kids sitting here. What a mix, she thought to herself. She hadn't even noticed a small girl sitting in the corner, snuggled in her sweater, just observing this chain of events. Silvy turned her attention back to the girl with the book and the brown hair, still watching the beans and the boy, and said to her, "Silvy, by the way. Or Ember, that's what my mom used to call me. What's your name?"

Brutus rolled his eyes. He was, in fact, far more clever than Luca seemed to think he was. But, thats exactly how Brutus operated. His parents had insisted he read the Art of War by Sun Tzu. Brutus had never been more bored. But he secretly admitted a few things were interesting.

"Christ's sake, take a joke, mate. Luca, 's it? Misplaced a stick, 'ave ye, lad?"

Brutus downed another bean, and bliss went across his face.
"Oooohhh...Buttercream Cake Icing..."

After a few seconds of ecstasy, Brutus looked at Luca again. Since he showed courtesy, Brutus would reciprocate.
"Name's Brutus. Palmer."

Brutus switched hands, beginning reps with his other arm.

"Look. I ain't lookin' ta start shite. I was jus' lookin' ta have a bit 'a fun. Wasn' endangerin' no one, I was completely in control 'a that trolley th' whole time."

Brutus took the box from his toes, and held his foot out.

"Me brakes'r workin' fine. And ye won't find a better trolley brake anywhere on this train, lad. Prolly nowhere else, neither."

He looked at Silvy when she fell for his little trick.

Name's not Ollamie, lass. But sure! 'ave a whole box if'n ya like! It's literally guaranteed to have flavors you like in there! And some you hate, probably! That's the fun!"

Brutus hit 30 reps on his other arm, and set the dumbbell down. Just something light. The last thing he needed was noodle arms during the Sorting Ceremony. It had to go perfect. Which meant no noodle arms, no jelly legs. Get the workout in, but don't push it.

"Now'r we done with this unpleasantness? Ye want a box'a beans? Bought enough to go 'round."

While sharing with his cabin mates was one reason he bought this many, it was also because they were his favorite candy. And maybe he planned to deal a few of them later, but thats only if he didn't eat them and give the rest away to potential friends.

Panicking, Bree frantically searches in each compartment of the train that she saw Winter fly by. Jumping back out of the way as a boy, who's obviously younger, flies down the aisles of the train on a trolley that sold the treats and snacks to everyone. The driver of the trolley was chasing him down attempting to hit him with a newspaper. She watches with fascination and laughs quietly once they get out of her line of vision before spotting a blur of white feathers past her. Racing after it, hoping it is Winter, she thinks of how this disaster happened.

Her parents took her to the station this time. Bree was happy about it since last time the Gryffindors parents didn't see her off then and her grandmother had too. Although deep down she wished that her grandmother was here too. Her grandmother who's caring and sweet and the complete opposite of her mother. After she said her not so teary goodbyes to her parents, she got on the train finding a nice and empty place to sit. Peaking out of the window she sees her father waving goodbye before having to turn around and run to catch up with her mother, who already left.

After quickly changing into her robes as no one joins her in the compartment she pulls out a quill, black ink, and some parchment paper in order to write a letter to her grandmother. Dipping her quill into the ink she begins writing. Only accomplishing two sentences before Winter starts to get fussy. Bree searches through a bag, looking for a treat to feed Winter. Finding one she ends up getting a cold rejection from her owl. Opening Winters cage to let her out, she realizes that she should've closed the door first. Winter quickly flies out, Bree chasing behind her, which is why shes where she is now.

Leaning against the wall he watches as Winter flies into a compartment. After catching her breath Bree runs in there stopping short when she sees that there's people in it. The boy who was riding on the trolley earlier, who's now passing out candies and downing the every flavor beans, two girls, and another one who Winter is apparently on the head of. Spotting her, Bree realizes who he is. The same person she sat with last year.

"Luca," She points to Winter and stutters out the rest of the sentence, "My uh owl is on your head."

Luca stood there stoically, waiting for the redheaded boy to speak again. The girl he had been talking to a few moments ago didn't seem interested in continuing their side conversation, so he focused on his charge. The young wizard ignored the redhead's comments about sticks but began writing down the name when Brutus finally gave him the correct one. Truth be told, he was slightly nervous since this was his first real action as a Prefect. Managing to hide it well, the boy wrote "Brutus Palmer" on the parchment before quickly ripping the page off and handing it to him.

"Be that as it may, Brutus, it was not your trolley to take. While I trust that your brakes are sufficient, I cannot trust that someone might not walk into the aisle while you're passing on your joyride. Then you would be explaining to the Headmaster why a student had to see Madam McLoughlin the moment they stepped off the train, and I would like to avoid that for you. Prefects are here as much for the protection of students as they are for rule enforcement," Luca explained in an even tone to Brutus.

"Still, nothing about scolding a fellow student is enjoyable. Welcome to Hogwarts, and I hope your first year is a productive one. Perhaps pay close attention in Transfiguration, where you'll learn how to conjure your own trolley with which you may do whatever you please. However, I wouldn't recommend joyrides down the halls of the castle either," the Prefect went on to explain with a more cheerful tone.

"Ah, thank you, I do enjoy every flavor of beans," the wizard finally said and took a box. Opening it, he popped a bean into his mouth and chewed. His face shifted slightly for a moment before he announced: "Grass...not the best flavor."

"Best behavior, Mr. Palmer, or I'll be expecting that parchment back," Luca said with a sheepish grin. Just as he turned around to leave the compartment, an owl flew in, and he tried to dodge it. While he was somewhat successful, the owl still managed to land on his head. This wasn't necessarily a foreign concept to him, as his father's owl, Midnight, would occasionally perch on his head to play with him, but he wasn't familiar with this owl. A few moments later, a familiar face from his first year walked into the compartment and commented on the situation.

"I hadn't noticed," Luca said to Bree with a slight grin after recognizing her. Reaching up to gently move the owl from his head to perch on his shoulder or arm, Luca spoke to Bree again. "How are you, Bree? Excited for the new year?"

First Day Open

Brutus took the piece of paper from Luca. He fully intended to toss it out the window as soon as the boy left the cabin.
Sure, it wasn't his trolley to take. But it was fun, and no one was hurt. That was what's important.
But when Luca mentioned transfiguring his own trolley for joyrides, his eyes lit up. But of course, he knew better than to do that in the halls of Hogwarts. According to Dan, that castle had more stairs than the Chinese Imperial Palace. Brutus was looking to have fun, not end up in traction.

He handed a box over, and the first flavor Luca got was grass. Brutus didn't envy him. But, he would take grass over Pine any day. Just the reminder of that flavor made him shudder.

He used his toes to grip the box once more, and began another rep set. He'd work on his legs in whatever dorm he got put in.
'Do not do leg exercises on a moving vehicle.' Something Brutus had learned on a previous train ride. Balance was important when doing things like lunges, and things like trains like to jolt on occasion, resulting in humorous, but very painful falls.

"So, what houses are ye hopin ta get sorted inta?"
