A day of fun and friendship
Sienna was sitting outside on the Hogwarts grassy area with the autumn sun giving a warm, golden light to the castle's old stone walls. Moved by the excitement of the first two weeks of term, the students were noisy and fast. The rustling of the dry leaves and the freshly cut grass could be heard all around. Their robes were catching the light wind as they were hurrying from one class to another. Also, close to her was a small hill of hand-written parchment flyers—ink letters on each one were curling and the corners were a little shining in the light with the help of the charm. She had gone around the students of each house in the morning distributing them and thus she was radiant with pride.
The flyer is a call for everyone to attend a casual meet-up later in the week which is a great chance to unwind after the long days that have lessons, homework, and occasionally magical mishaps. Sienna was first to come up with an idea which was simple yet had a great impact—a place where the students from all the years could relax and have fun without being concerned about house rivalries or exams. She was aware that Hogwarts was a crammed, overwhelming place and that it was very easy for students to just continue with their own groups of friends.
Now, she was sitting under an old oak tree by the Black Lake, and the serene view of the castle with its windows reflecting the water was making her feel a quiet thrill. The laughter could be heard plainly across the lawns; first-years were talking with seventh-years, new friendships were being formed over mugs of butterbeer and plates of pumpkin pasties. Maybe her small idea could be the bridge to the houses together.
Sienna smiled softly to herself, her brown hair flowing with the wind. She would like the people not only to come and rest but also to link. Even in a world of magic, the most powerful spells are still friendship and kindness.

A day of fun and friendship

Apologies to
Sienna Miller
His last class had let out early and it was such a beautiful day that he decided that he would take Rascal out for a bit of fresh air. Rascal, his pet rat, usually did alright with others around but he was a social guy and sometimes like to wander and try and meet new friends. This would give the little gray rodent some fresh air without all the distractions and Simon made him a little fence from books that were in his enchanted satchel and found a place for them to sit under a tree upon the Grounds of Hogwarts.
The shade was nice and Simon knew it could ensure that he was out a little longer, as his dhampir self was never too keen, as any dhampir, upon direct sunlight. Rascal seemed to busy himself in sniffing the air, scratching at the grass - he was probably going to need a bath that evening. Simon got out one of his notebooks and began thinking of some preliminary stories that he could write for upcoming editions of the Headliner, the school's newspaper which he was a writer for.
He was so focused on his writing he hadn't really realized that classes had gotten out of session for everyone and others were now gathering upon the Grounds. He also didn't realize right away that two of the books had been pushed over by a certain rodent's nose and that same rodent was now off exploring.
"Hmm, I wonder if we should do a pet exchange and then those students could give me their take on how it went. That could be an article idea. What do you think, Rasc?" Simon said as he lifted his head from his notebook to see the empty book ring with the two fallen books - and no rat. "....Rascalllllll," he whined, knowing that he was no longer thinking of the school newspaper but would now be on one of his infamous great rat hunts.
"Come on, Rascal. You needn't be bothering these fine people as they attempt to enjoy some fresh air on this beautiful day." But then Simon smiled realizing that his little old pet gray rat too just wanted to enjoy the fresh air on this beautiful day. "Hey, Rasc? Come on, man. Where are you?" and he scanned the scene before him.
Past the shade of the trees and into the sunlight, he saw a small gray form within some higher grass of the sunshine and in walking closer to inspect he saw Rascal all curled up in the sun, enjoying an afternoon slumber. He wouldn't disturb him, not yet. His old friend deserved a lovely nap.
Simon saw a brown haired girl standing nearby and gave her a friendly smile. "Hi, my apologies that my friend is invading your space. I'd like to give him a little longer if you don't mind." It seemed as if she was set up for something, but he wasn't sure what. Normally he would have wanted to scoop Rascal right up and drop him into his pocket but this was Rascal's second round at Hogwarts, his second chance, and he knew how much the old rodent liked it here for moments just like this. He wanted to give Rascal his best little rodent life.
"Hope we're not interrupting anything. We can go if you'd prefer," he said to the girl.

Sienna didn't hesitate to locate the page she had been reading in her book when she heard the voice. A male approached her with a nervous and somewhat worried expression. Once she glanced at the direction where he was indicating the gray rat laying beside her blanket, she put two and two together.
"Oh, he's your pet?" she uttered in a jovial manner, not giving the boy a hint that she regarded his action as offensive. It was a rat that had only recently come over and, after it had sniffed her satchel with great curiosity, it had made the grass its new home.
He nodded as if to say that he was quite relieved and, after apologizing, repeated the gesture once more that he was sorry. Sienna was still smiling, "He is wonderful. If I may say so, the only thing I lacked was a friend. Honestly, he looks like a very quiet type of animal. It does not seem like he is a stranger here."
The guy was full of doubt and after his doubt, he crouched a little further from her and Sienna could tell from his demeanor that he was doing it very cautiously as if he was trying not to scare them. She considered it lovely - the love he had for his little pet was reflected in his eyes, which were very soft and gentle.
He followed that up with his name being Simon, and she did what she was saying and actually closed her book and put it aside. "Sienna," she said, smiling politely. "Simon, you’re a pleasure to meet you.”
He joked about Rascal being the most suitable one to introduce them, and she chuckled quietly, which was beyond her control. The rat was in the land of nod and at that moment, one of his whiskers was coincidentally touching a piece of grass, however, Sienna was becoming more and more drawn to the little creature without really letting go of the fact - the rise and fall of his sides, the very quiet content breath.
"What a lovely one," she uttered in a near whisper. "I suppose he is very happy here."
Simon was thrilled by her words, and they both, after those words, stayed silent for a long time, each other’s company, under the coolness of the shadow. Sienna was hearing the soothing sound of the leaves rustling and the happy voices of the students coming from a distance and couldn’t help but let her thoughts drift away while staring at Rascal sleeping. There was something about this little life that was so comforting and stable, yet it was totally unaware of the hustle of the classes, the homework, and the exams. Maybe it was Simon who was right to bring him out here; even though he is only human, Hogwarts can be quite a handful.
Rascal was waking up again, and Sienna was leaning in slightly and talking to him in a low voice. "Hey, wild adventurer, I know for sure that you wouldn't be leaving home without me, right?"
The rat was halfway through sleep when he stretched after turning to the place where the voice was coming from and taking light in one of his black eyes. Sienna smiled, "He must be liking me, I am sure," she murmured.
Then, with a small smile on her face and a bit of a teasing manner in her eyes, she looked at Simon and said, "Perhaps it’s only the scraps of food that he is after."
Rascal definitely looked as if he was saying it, and Sienna laughed - an honest, hearty laugh which was just enough for the birds in the vicinity to stop their singing for a moment.

Talks with @Sienna Miller
"Oh, he's food driven, alright," Simon agreed and smiled. "But he's always liked females more than males - I figure it has something to do with his original owner being one. I took on Rascal after she passed. We get along well enough but I know he misses her," and sometimes he wihed that little gray rats could talk so he could know what exactly was on his thoughts.
Simon shrugged and was glad to see that Rascal was behaving himself, scratching himself by rubbing his little body against the blades of grass around him like a dog might. "So what brings you out here today, Sienna?" Simon asked curiously. He liked getting to know new people and was grateful that she seemed quite friendly and not shy or reserved. He glanced down t osee the book that she had been reading, as well as taking sight of the golden flyers that she had. He couldn't see the words of either though from where he stood.
His enchanted satchel had been placed on the ground, indicating that he didn't mind staying awhile if the girl didn't mind. He hadn't realized yet that she was hoping for a social gathering anyway. Simon loved good socializing - it had been one of the things he was quite good at. Perhaps, at times, he was too good at it. He had often gotten in trouble for socializing too much back in his muggle school in London but tht only helped make him the friendly individual he had become now.

Sienna sat down beside Simon on the soft grass, feeling the tiny paws of Rascal gently pressing her palm. He was so little, so lively, and for some reason, she could already feel that he was a friend she could trust. She grinned as she observed him burying into her lap. “You are really lucky to have such a friend like him,” Sienna spoke very quietly almost to herself then, she looked at Simon noticing how comfortably he seemed to fit in here as if the meadow was his friend. “And you... you seem... I don’t know, like someone that likes to be around people,” she said curiously without being able to hold her words back. Her glance takes in the satchel next to him, and she mused over what kind of stuff he might be carrying. Would those be books? Magical artifacts? Or maybe just normal things that turn out to be fantastic in the hands of the right person? She got a little excited just by the thought of opening it and finding some secret, although she quickly dismissed that idea. “Sorry, I’m probably… being a bit too much of a a,” she said, while putting a strand of hair behind her ear. Rascal was twiching his little nose with her finger and thus pulling her attention back. She chuckled softly. “If I listen to him, he is saying to me that I should not be worried about it,” says she, feeling the animal's trust and thus a bit of warmth. “Having this… it is nice. This just… being here, I mean, without any rush or expectations.” Again she looked at Simon, this time observing how he seemed to be very much aware of everything but not really looking—how he got pleased by small things like Rascal scratching the grass, or the wind blowing the leaves. For a short time, she felt as if she could be here forever, completely absorbed in the simple and gentle rhythm of the meadow and the silent company. “You… don’t stop talking to him, do you?” she questioned, pointing with her nod to Rascal. “I am sure that he… understands you. Or maybe the other one is,” she said hesitating and then softly adding, “I wish I could understand people the way he understands you.”

A day of fun and friendship
@Sienna Miller and @Simon Kincaid
Fresh off of Hogwarts express Megan is fully distracted by the scenery outside because the scenery outside is all around beautiful,serene-calming and peaceful to her so she’s kind of zoned out while looking at the scenery outside around the Hogwarts she’s also super overly energetic aka super overly bouncy-super overly excited to see fountains, courtyards and a lot of certain places around Hogwarts.
She’s not quite entirely sure how she feels about the blacklake but she will also accept just looking at the black lake because of the scenery of the blacklake itself .She’s does however fully love/like a good portion of Hogwarts and scenery though she just doesn’t have the greatest pasts with water for memories but She doesn’t let that stop her from just looking at the water itself. She’s also fully distracted by the scenery itself in general since she loves looking at stuff indoors and outdoors she’s a scenery loving child. She has straight brown hair that’s kind of curly on the ends very blue eyes and only about 4’2 in height she is also very extremely kind-protective and loving but also super overly excited-bubbly when she’s in a very overly happy mood. She’s fully happily taking in the scenery of her surroundings, she’s most likely happily walking along looking around.
She’s in a calm, serene, peaceful state out of mind at the moment while also seeing all the sights of Hogwarts around her. She’s also excited to meet new people at Hogwarts.she also just loves looking around in general.
She tries to decide where to go for a location that she’s most excited to but she can’t decide where she’s most excited to so she tries to think while walking around so she’s also lost on her own train of thought.
She looks at all the trees as she’s walking by,she loves big open spaces aka places where it’s easy to be around a lot of people. She also tries to decide where she wants to sit down at it while thinking of where to go.
In her mind she’s thinking “do I go to adventure to the black lake or do I visit somewhere else around the school or do I go to count the number of courtyards that the school has or would counting the number of courtyards take forever to do.”
Her mind is also thinking about how beautiful the scenery looks but she’s also still torn between the number of courtyards in her mind at the same time but she’s also trying not to think about the number of courtyards either because other wise she’ll just spend forever trying to think about the number of courtyards.
As she’s walking she finds herself just for whatever reason randomly heading in the direction of the black lake without going into water just so can explore the black lake a bit more for scenery.
She’s not sure why she ends up going in the direction of the black lake she just somehow does so she’s trying to explore as many places as possible just for fun.
She notices 2 other people at the lake she’s very unsure of what to do for sight seeing adventures at this new school since she’s only a first year student at a new school.
She’s doing a lot of thinking because her mind can’t decide what to do for adventures. She does love sight seeing in a way. She also heard one student mention a lot of other sight seeing places at one point.
She also thinks about whether or not she should ask another student for help with sight seeing locations but she also wonders if anyone would even know any good spots to go sight seeing for anything.
She’s still thinking about a lot as she’s walking looking around. She however does love how the overall school looks for locations&just in general. She eventually stops thinking and just keeps looking around until she finds her exploring more of the black lake area just for scenery while she also avoids running into a tree as best as she can.
She reminds herself in her head not to run into the tree because she’s use to reminding herself not to run into trees because the trees tend to always be the first thing she’s about to run into.

A day of fun and friendship
The wind changed direction and brought a cool breeze from the lake; it also made the oak leaves above them rustle, turning a faint golden color. Sienna could barely see her reflection in the water—her own inquisitive face lit up by the sun. It happened to be one of those rare afternoons when it seemed like time was sleeping and the whole world was just breathing.
Yet, it was the movement that eventually held her gaze—the younger girl full of energy seemed to be walking the area. She kept looking at the trees, towers, and the shiny water of the lake. The young lady appeared to be a happy dreamer and at the same time somewhat bewildered. Seeing the little girl made Sienna’s smile brighten even more.
"Possible scenarios: we might have another explorer breaking free," she whispered to Simon, the direction of the new comer pointed out by her head. Rascal was moving his whiskers like he was agreeing to the words, his tiny nose wriggling towards the movement.
Sienna waved at the girl with her open hand and a smile. "Hey you!" she said loud and clear. "If you want, coming here would be perfect—there is more than enough space!”
The green-clad first-year seemed quite unsure initially as she looked at them and the rat who was now on Sienna’s knee and seemed to be in a victorious mood. “He is quite friendly,” Sienna continued quickly, accompanied by a cheerful laugh. “Well, not always. Rascal is his name, after all.”
It was the invitation to move that worked here. While coming closer, Sienna was able to see that Megan's face was full of amazement—the same thing she herself had felt when she first came to Hogwarts two weeks before. “Then... you are new as well, right?” she questioned softly. “My name is Sienna long for Ravenclaw. Simon is here and, of course, Rascal, the one who gets all the credit today,”
She beckoned Megan to take a seat with her blanket that was on the ground. “You couldn’t have chosen a better moment to come down to the lake. It’s the most beautiful time when the sun is just about to go down,” Sienna told her. “Besides…” the scattered golden flyers catching the light were pointed out by her, “we are planning a little party later during the week. A place where everyone could have fun and relax regardless of their house. You are coming, right?”
Her voice was cheerful but her eyes showed the truth – she was serious and honest. She meant every word that she wrote on the paper: Hogwarts might be too much for someone especially at the beginning and no one should have to face it alone.
Right then, Rascal decides to do some stretching and then quickly approaches the new arrival, smelling her candidly. Sienna chuckled and said, “Look, he can’t wait for you to come.”
She rolled off her hands and looked towards the horizon where the sun was just about to set behind the castle towers. “Perhaps this is exactly the way friendships come about,” she said to herself. “Not through a spell... but by sharing a bit of sunlight and a curious little rat.”
