Here Kitty, Kitty!
The sun had hardly rose from the horizon and Katrina heard some girls in her dorm saying the time was 5:30. She padded out of her dorm and into the common room with the odd nagging that she was forgetting something. She took out her sketch book and continued adding shading to a sketch of a kitten she had been working on for a while.
Then it dawned on her-- where was Boomerang? Her new, adorable kitten was always trailing behind her even in places that a kitten was not allowed to be in. He seemed impervious to anything she said and training him was impossible. Typically, she would wake up with him sitting on her face. The little orange fluff was always around. It seemed so odd without his little mew at her side.
Katrina asked around the Common Room and everyone had no clue. She walked over to someone by the fire, he said that a kitten had walked out the door just a second before she emerged from her dorm. After asking the kittens color, he replied that it seemed orange.
The 12-year-old raced out of the room curious how he even got through the painting. She checked both directions and randomly turned one corner. A tuft of orange tail fur snuck around a corner many feet ahead. The Gryffindor struggled to keep her footsteps quiet. It was all she wanted to get in trouble for being out too early. After another corner, he seemed to speed up-- as if he was running away from her. A stitch began to for in her side and Katrina's breath caught in her throat.
Finally, she caught up with her rebel feline. His small shape entered a crack in a door down the hall. Katrina didn't recognize the area and hoped she wouldn't get in trouble. The girl opened the door some and peered into the room. The sun was enough above the horizon to shed light in the medium sized room. Against one wall was a fireplace, against another was a window. Before she could further inspect the room she kneeled down.
"Here kitty, kitty, kitty," Katrina called for Boomerang, when no fluffs of orange appeared she tried again, "Here kitty, kitty," her hushed tone was obviously not loud enough to be heard, "Here, kitty, kitty!" she spoke rather harshly and realized only after how loud she had been.
Katrina took a few steps into the room and inspected it. No one seemed to be present so she let her guard down some and fell to her hands and knees. She crawled around looking under furniture. No kitten faces showed themselves.
"Come on Boomerang, I really don't want to be caught in here!" a smidge of panic bled into her voice.

Here Kitty, Kitty!
Hanako tensed as he felt another sneeze coming. After he took a few seconds to calm down, he cursed under his breath.
' Damnit, is Hogwarts storing retched furballs in the walls now?!? '
As if he had nowhere to go where his nose and he could sleep in absolute peace. He had already left the Slytherin Common room and the grounds. Disgusting small four legged felines are everywhere and it pissed him off to no end!
Even thinking of them made his skin crawl. Those bright round eyes pointed ears and weird eyebrows always managed to ruin his day. Not to mention his cool. It was hard to find any joy in irritating others or smiling like a cheeky mouse when there are four legged furballs everywhere he goes.
Even after wandering into hallways he never knew existed didn't help his itchy nose. Maybe he's thinking too much about them? He stood in front of a slightly ajar door, and took a deep breath and allowed himself to close his eyes and imagine a peaceful world of no C words. Breathing in and out slowly, focusing his breathing pattern.
Just him, and silence.
" Ac-cho! " His sneeze felt so loud in these hallways. He covered his nose from the polluted air and narrowed his eyes at nothing particular.
" There is definitely a cat in here..." he mumbled as he took out his napkin and covered his nose as he glared at the door.
Did he want to open the door and see a furball? Yes.
Did he want to see a furball and glare at it like there was no tomorrow? Yes.
To be honest, what showed up in that room instead of a cat greatly surprised him. There on the ground was a lioness with auburn hair that lit up from the light coming from the window and a signature chuck of teal hair.
Yes, Hanako knew the girl. The one that offered to dye other people's hair. He heard about her while trying to take a nap in the common room. Noisy Slytherins were gushing about how much they wanted her help.
"Come on Boomerang, I really don't want to be caught in here!"
His surprise faded and a sly smile hid under his napkin. A chance to get favors was his ultimate goal in his first year. Way easier than getting friends.
" Well... well, what do we have here~ ? " he mused, delighted a chance like this flew gracefully on his lap. He rested his arm against the door and tilted his head with a playful gaze.
" I knew you had an inner rebel in you with that blue hair of yours~ "
" Shame if someone were to tell a professor. I'm sure they would believe me if I told them I was lost and saw a Gryffindor with a bit of blue hair poking in some-" he sneezed.
"...forgive me" he mumbled, barely loud enough for the girl to hear. He was saying something so cool and his allergies had to ruin it. The embarrassment! Was there really a cat in here? Hanako's mind was too filled with hatred for the furballs to connect the dots.
" Anyway, I'm sure they'll forgive a 1st year for getting a bit lost, but you? " He smiled mischievously.

Katrina heard a loud noise from behind her and she froze. Several sneezes followed and Katrina quickly stood up and turned around. Panic filled her and she took a breath.
Before her was a Slytherin first year with a very smug smirk on his face. A sigh let out of her mouth-- she was beyond relieved that it was only a student, and not even a prefect. His smirk grew larger and it was all Katrina could do to not laugh. Who did he think he is?
" Well... well, what do we have here~ ? " Katrina said nothing waiting for him to get to his point. A first year wasn't going to scare her away.
Maybe a few weeks ago he would have. She had changed a lot in the last few months. She went from the timid and hesitant girl to the outspoken lioness that many people knew. It was hard sometimes when people knew her as 'the girl who's parents died in a fire', but other times it was nice to not have to tell her story over and over.
" I knew you had an inner rebel in you with that blue hair of yours~ " he tried to sound so cool, but it was all she could do not to laugh. Someone was calling her a rebel.
"The hair is teal. And when you say rebel, would you include yourself, because it appears you are in the room as well," her comment began strong, but the threat died before she could get to the point of menacing. Anyone who knew her would know she was 'all bark, but no bite', but to an unsuspecting firstie, she could easy seem like a rebel.
" Shame if someone were to tell a professor. I'm sure they would believe me if I told them I was lost and saw a Gryffindor with a bit of blue hair poking in some-" he sneezed and Katrina had to hold back another bout of laughter. His cute attempt at being mischievous was horribly failing.
On the outside, Katrina seemed composed. Slightly arrogant at the moment. She stood with her head cocked up and a smile playing on her lips. The only thing that betrayed her mask was a flicker in her eyes-- hardly noticeable to anyone. She stuffed her hands in her cloak pockets and waited for the snake to continue. The threat was dead now and she was curious how he would play this out.
"...forgive me" he mumbled. A rosy hint appeared to reach his cheeks, but the room was too dark to tell. " Anyway, I'm sure they'll forgive a 1st year for getting a bit lost, but you? "
"You are also up before we are allowed out of our dorms. How would you expect to play that off?" Katrina let the banter continue. She was intrigued to how he would respond. Also, she was curious how long the act would continue.

"The hair is teal. And when you say rebel, would you include yourself, because it appears you are in the room as well,"
He let out a small snicker when she corrected him. The slightly fierce way she said it reminded him of his siblings. " Whatever it's called, it still looks enough blue to me~ "
Despite what he said, he was well educated on the different shades of colors after being scolded harshly by his siblings for calling a random furball ' orange' instead of 'sandstone'. The ongoing 'color classes ' his siblings put him through was the definition of colorful torture. But because of that, he could name more than 10 shades of each color.
He was just giving off the vibe that he has no knowledge of colors other than the ones on the rainbow. It makes him look more laid-back, perhaps even ignorant. And that's what he wanted.
Rebel? He could barely count one half of his foot to make him officially 'in' the room, but he was too pleased about being asked if he was a rebel. It was sarcasm, he was aware, but it still felt satisfying to be called such. In return of her retort, he gave her a sarcastically sweet grin.
"Truth be told, I'd love to include myself in that 'rebel' category. But I am a man of pure righteous honesty, and just standing here while seeing the real rebel do work doesn't sound so 'rebel' now is it?'. He snickered, amused at what he called himself. Him? Honest? What a laugh. " Plus, I'd stand no chance against you in a battle of rebels if I look this cute, right~ ?' he spun the napkin to the end of his fingers where they could not touch his face and used his hand to pressed up his cheeks to emphasize his ' cuteness 'before slightly chuckling in the process.
He must admit, the lioness was cute herself but she could not be compared to Hanako's own beauty and it made him both arrogant and bitter inside. He wanted to be taken seriously but it was hard to do when he looks way younger than his age.
After his failure of a threat, screaming at his brain not to show his embarrassment seemed to work. He just dearly hoped the lioness would not notice.
"You are also up before we are allowed out of our dorms. How would you expect to play that off?" He wanted to show her another cheeky grin, but he was interrupted by another sneeze. This time he did not apologize.
" Well, as you had just witnessed, I'm not in a very healthy state. The flu is truly a horrendous thing to experience " he stopped for a moment when he felt another sneeze coming, which thankfully did not. He'd rather die than reveal his allergies. That'll just give off his weakness and he was sure his enemies and victims would just l o v e to know.
To him, it was pathetic that someone so cool could have a sneezing fit the second a furball entered the room. He was thankful he had mastered the arts of lying.
" I don't want to seem like I was sneaking out either..." he dramatically pouted in a sad tone " But, my thirst for knowledge in classes pushes me to ask for some medicine in the Hospital Wing. I wish not to skip a day of class for something as simple as flu~ " he wailed, quietly so someone other than him and the lioness could hear before showing her another smile. She wouldn't know him sleeping in all his classes since she's a year above anyway.
" I think that excuse is more believable than randomly snooping in the caretaker's office now is it?~ " A sweet smile adorned his features until he asked again :
" Whats a little lioness doing here, anyway? If you wanted to steal something, may I recommend another pair of eyes and ears to warn you if someone else is close by? " He hinted he was the one that wanted to be her eyes and ears but lightly tapping his eyes and ears.
He was too confident that she wanted to steal he still could not even guess the reason why his sneezing heightened up the moment he entered the room.

Here Kitty, Kitty!
His smug smirk went from hilarious to annoying very fast. The boy began like a little tattle-tale and now he thought he was the coolest in the room. His ignorant little self was getting on her nerves, and Katrina had to fight to continue the laid-back, arrogant mask.
"Truth be told, I'd love to include myself in that 'rebel' category. But I am a man of pure righteous honesty, and just standing here while seeing the real rebel do work doesn't sound so 'rebel' now is it?' Katrina scoffed rather loudly at his self-proclaimed honesty. She could tell by that fact that he threatened to tell a teacher that his 'honesty' was not true. " Plus, I'd stand no chance against you in a battle of rebels if I look this cute, right~ ?' She mimed gagging at his display of 'cuteness'. To be honest, she hadn't even looked that close at him and had no intention of doing so.
She noticed a flicker of emotion in his face, but it was gone before she could identify it. Worry? Embarrassment? Fright? What emotion, Katrina could not be so sure, so she just let it slide. If he didn't point out the crack in her mask, she would return the favor.
He sneezed again and justified it as a flu. She almost took a step back, not wanting the virus. The motion would be one of defense so she stayed where so was. Didn't want the little boy to think he got to her.
" I don't want to seem like I was sneaking out either..." he stuck out his lip pretending to be sad, " But, my thirst for knowledge in classes pushes me to ask for some medicine in the Hospital Wing. I wish not to skip a day of class for something as simple as flu~ " A small doubt flashed through her mind that he was telling the truth. When he wailed-- louder than she would have liked-- Katrina realized that they should certainly wrap this up before some prefect stepped in.
" I think that excuse is more believable than randomly snooping in the caretaker's office now is it? What's a little lioness doing here, anyway? If you wanted to steal something, may I recommend another pair of eyes and ears to warn you if someone else is close by? "
The lioness rolled her eyes before replying. "I'm not snooping or stealing anything. If I were, I would already have taken it and left." She paused, hoping his curiosity would get the best of him. If he was going to play games with her, she was more than glad to return the favor.
A small fluff of cantaloupe fur teased her peripheral vision. Under the desk! Of course! She was careful not to look in the direction--there was no clue what he would say if he found out her kitten had gotten out of hand. Instead, she turned and took a few steps toward the window. The tactic was subtle, the result would be satisfying. She could only wait until he fell in her trap.
"A cold you say. Or a flu? For a flu, you shouldn't even be wasting time here. A cold, and I would expect a 'brave' Slytherin could handle that small nuisance," she used her hands to create air-quotes when she said the word 'brave'. She was just messing around, hopefully annoying him enough to leave her alone.
Another flash of tangerine fluff caught her eye again. Katrina waited a moment before giving in. She stooped down and scooped up Boomerang, who had darted to wind around her feet. She held him in a way that said 'Fine, you win. This is what I was in here for.' Katrina caught his eye and tucked her chunk of teal hair behind her ear. Boomerang began to purr in her arms and Katrina continued to pet him.

" I'm not snooping or stealing anything. If I were, I would already have taken it and left ".
" And what a pity that is dear Lioness. You're already in here you might as well~ ". He pushed himself off the doorway and took a few steps in the room, not too far yet not too close to the lioness's personal circle.
His heart was truly disappointed that there was no opportunity to gain favors from the girl today. But, still slightly curious as to what might be more important than finding valuable goods in the Caretaker's Office.
Noisy snakes allowed him to know of the various knick-knacks that could be found in here, and he was baffled by how the lioness passed up a great opportunity to.
"A cold you say. Or a flu? For a flu, you shouldn't even be wasting time here. A cold, and I would expect a 'brave' Slytherin could handle that small nuisance."
He shoved his hands in his pockets as the amused smile on his face failed to be contained. " Alright, I admit I over exaggerated a teeny bit. But whether it's a cold or flu, I would never miss an opportunity to see a rebel in act ~ "
Being poked for his supposedly ' bravery ' didn't hurt the Slytherin one bit, as brave was the last thing he'd expect to be next to honest. A snarky remark was about to fly out of his mouth until he noticed the lioness grab something from the floor, that made his previous playful demeanor drop in a second.
No more was he warm and jumpy, as of now, all his skin felt was cold.
'Fine, you win. This is what I was in here for.'
Now, fully covering his nose with his napkin, he sneezed.
He stared blankly as her delicate hands as she rubbed the demon, who reacted with a chilling vibrating noise Hanako could only associate with the chants of hell.
More than distressed, he was absolutely mortified. He could only thank his ancestors for the Tone talent of hiding such emotions but he was sure if he did not leave right this second, the lioness and her tiny devil would catch on.
Running away was a favored option. Alas, doing so would leave more questions than answers. Plus, not to mention how un-cool that would look.
His honey-brown eyes hastily studied the lioness. Would it be possible to throw both the lioness and the tiny devil out the window? That would make him look cool and a killer. Who cares if the girl was taller than him?
A look of stress crossed his face for a millisecond. He must be out of his mind to even consider the second opinion!
Suddenly he felt a pocket-sized plastic bottle hiding in his pocket where his left hand rested. An idea struck him like lightning as he considered it wouldn't be so bad to owe the lioness a favor if that means he'll leave this room with her harboring more hate for him.
With his napkin still covering his nose, with his hand hidden in his pocket, he gripped the plastic bottle firmly and smiled at the lioness but, at the same time, ignored the tiny devil's existence.
" Oh, what a very boring thing to find in a place like this " he quipped, trying his best not to glare at the tiny devil. " Disappointed we did not bond over our love for snooping around. In fact, our conversation gets more boring as we speak " he lied smoothly before giving her another sweet grin " But allow me to make it more interesting~ "

Deepest apologize that this is so late and so short...
@Hanako ToneKatrina squinted her eyes when he called her 'lioness'. What was that about? Sure, she was a Gryffindor, but what gave him the right to nickname her. She was sure it would stick, but it was still odd. She debated calling him snake or something, but gave up as he continued to talk. Then he called her a rebel. He didn't even know her. He didn't even know why she was in here. Still, the calm and cool mask lived on.
Katrina held her fluff of a kitten in her arms and raised one eyebrow as he sneezed. Then a flash of fear darted across his face. It finally fell together in Katrina's mind. The sneezing, the fear, the obvious avoiding to look at Boomerang. He was allergic, and afraid, of cats. A satisfied smirk grew on the lioness' face. She now had the upper hand. His emotion turned into a completely mortified state. It was, in a mean way, hilarious.
Katrina feigned ignorance and continued on, the half-smile still plastered on her face. He gave a sly grin that looked far to suspicious, but the 12-year-old couldn't put a finger on what seemed off.
" Oh, what a very boring thing to find in a place like this " he chirped, still ignoring Boomerang, " Disappointed we did not bond over our love for snooping around. In fact, our conversation gets more boring as we speak " Katrina scoffed again over his use of the word 'love', " But allow me to make it more interesting~"
Katrina's mind was screaming at her to back away, but her ego wouldn't let her. The only indication of her hesitation was the stiffening in her posture. Before she could do anything, Boomerang yawned and gave a loud 'meow!'. The noise slightly startled the Gryffindor. She took the moment to, hopefully, thrown the snake off guard.
"Afraid of cats are we?" Katrina petted Boomerang's fuzzy face, hoping this would thwart any plan he had to 'make it more interesting', "Allergic? Or just afraid?" She hoped by some miracle, that he would be surprised by her pointed remark. "I'm sure I could convince my kitten to bite you, if you would like. Or, I could just tell her to leave. She follows my commands relatively well." Katrina shifted Boomerang in her arms so he was facing the boy, "It's up to you…"

How she held up her tiny devil so quickly did manage to startle him a bit, as he was now forced to look at the wretched thing. Refusing to prove the lioness's taunts right, he managed to let out a little laugh. " Being allergic to these tiny devils is an unfortunate condition to have, and I'm grateful to be free of that...but scared? "
Dispelling half his mind that was screaming at him to put his hand away, with the cat right in front of him, his hand, which was previously holding his ticket to escape, was now on the head of the cat. He gave the thing a very short scratch before slowly retracting his hand back in his pocket with a prideful smile.
" I don't think there's anything scary about these creatures " and he wasn't lying. At most, he only felt extreme levels of discomfort, but the lioness didn't need to know that. And he certainly didn't care if the cat hated being rubbed randomly. " And bite you say~ " he once again, lightly laughed, as he bopped the tiny devil's nose. " I won't guarantee I won't bite back. Especially if he's this cute~ " he gushed at the cat in a sarcastic tone.
Despite the playful smile he wore, he was cringing inside internally at his spoken words. It flew out of his mouth before he could stop it, and it killed a part of himself. What did he mean by ' bite him back"?!? He will make sure to brush his teeth 5...no 8 times once he gets back to the dorms.
Being this close to a cat, his allergies acted up once again and he felt another sneeze coming, but he resisted as he ignored the icky feeling he felt on his shoulders.
" Well thanks for showing me you're...." he stared down at the cat and proceeded " hm...but I suppose it's time for us to depart~" he gripped the bottle hidden in his pocket once again " I'm a sucker for dramatic exits, you see~ "
Sending a last innocent smile, he took out the spray bottle he used for his plants and spayed it multiple times at the lioness.
Mostly the Lioness, as he was afraid the c- the tiny devil would get agitated and injure the lioness with his deadly friends hiding in his paws.
While she was distracted, he speed-walked to the door and turned behind to say his final words. " Don't fret, it's just some chemicals mixed with other weird stuff I found on the grounds~ " jk its only plain clean water he replied without single remorse.
" If it makes you want to kill me less, I don't rant you out even if you rat me out. Dearly hope you don't chase after me, alright? As if I need another unfortunate soul to fall for me~ " he snickered before he closed the door shut.
Now out of their sight, he ran to his dorm with a sneezing fit. He was trying so hard not to sneeze while talking it made his skin feel utterly icky. He wiped the hand that touched the cat furiously with his uniform and his soul ached for his toothbrush where he could rinse out the disgusting words he spewed.
Did he regret attacking the poor lioness with water out of the blue? No.
He did what he had to do to survive in a world of devils.
Was it cowardly to use the arts of distraction to run away? He couldn't care less.
Now that he knows the lioness protects her tiny devil, he hoped his little stunt was enough to keep her away from him and his secret allergies. He was not to associate with anyone that keeps those furballs by their side even if they were a lot of fun to talk to. Lei is an exception.
He also hoped by closing the door, even if the tiny devil would wring out of her grasp, it'll be easier for her to catch it. Another small part of him hoped it wouldn't hurt her if it ever tries to break free.
That way, perhaps she wouldn't tackle him at breakfast for being the cause of her injuries. How bothersome that would be
Reducioit's alrighttt! Seeing Hanako get attacked by a cat makes my day. Plus this was a fun rp to do hahahd

@Hanako Tone
Katrina pet Boomerang and left a smirk on her face. What-ever-the-boy's-name-was continued talking. Something about biting back and devils. His words faded down as Katrina attempted to remember him. She went back to the sorting ceremony and tried to recall a Slytherin that looked like him. No name came to her mind, she mentally scanned the last few months and couldn’t recall anything about him. She had some memory of a Hano? Hanako? Ha… She decided to call him Hackasplat in her mind. At least she would have some sort of nickname to give him.
Her conscience slowly drifted back to what he was saying. She had missed the first few sentences, but her focus returned as he- shivered?- in the direction of Boomerang. What was with him refusing to admit she was holding a cat? It wasn't like Boomerang had ever scratched or even bitten anybody. Besides, a dog bit is much worse than a cat scratch. She honestly didn't know what Hackasplat's problem was.
He mentioned departing and something about 'dramatic exits'. Katrina gave him what she hoped was a snarky yet pointed, confused face. He drew a sort of bottle? Spray bottle? Out of his pocket, before Kat could do anything, he sprayed it on her. In the split-second it took her mind to register, Boomerang flipped out. Hackasplat made a comment that it was mixed with chemicals. (the fact that it was chemicals didn't scare her, but the possible stain on the floor did).
" If it makes you want to kill me less, I don't rat you out even if you rat me out. Dearly hope you don't chase after me, alright? As if I need another unfortunate soul to fall for me~ "
Boomerang raced out of her hands and over her head. Katrina sucked in a quick breath as the claws on his hind legs tore through the sleeve of her robes and into her skin. She clutched the growing red on her arm with one hand and glanced up to see Hackasplat close the door. She growled and grumbled a few words that shouldn't be repeated. Boomerang crouched in the corner and hissed at the door. Seemed like the boy had made two enemies this time.
She scoffed in the direction of the door as she heard a series of sneezes fade from the room. She had no intentions on 'ratting' him out, seeing as she didn't even know his name. She came to the conclusion that it was definitely a cat allergy, she was glad that she could pick up on body language. Hackasplat was certainly someone she dreaded meeting again, although she honestly might not recognize him if they were to meet again as the room had been so dark. She groaned and looked at her arm.
The cut had been impressively deep, but she didn't want to bother the Hospital Wing. Instead, Katrina wrapped a torn strip off the inside of her robes around it, mumbling about yet another ruined cloak. She tied the bandage tightly and approached the angry kitten.
"Come on Boomerang, let's go back." she quietly coaxed Boomerang over.
Quickly, Katrina scooped up the feline and made her way back to her dorm. Her attentive ears didn't hear any more sneezes so the lioness assumed he had ran away rather quickly. She settled onto her bed and redressed the cut. Next time, she would be more careful.
