Ally Craig woke up early on this cold day as she had any other day that she had lessons filling up her schedule, yet something about today made Ally feel different could it be the fact that she was goint to the grounds later today after school to let her beautiful Snowy Owl Amethyst out to fly?
So, Ally finally deciding that she didn't want to be late for her classes she jumped out of bed got dressed in her school robes. then made her beautiful blue bed and then finally Ally had to kick it into high gear if she wanted to make it to breakfast on time.
Finally, Ally had made it down the great hall for breakfast she settled for blueberry waffles and a lovely glass of milk, as she watched everyone practically bursting with laughter and chatting up a storm Ally settled for a nice conversation less meal. After had ate her last bite and chugged her last sip of milk Ally made a mad dash for the lavatory to brush her teeth then gracefully she headed to her first class of the day which was Charms,,
The day was quickly coming to an end and her classes had finally finished up for the day, Ally had decided that it was high time to go and fetch Amethyst So they can have little bit of fun before time for curfew sets in, Ally didn't want to be known as a rule breaker so she made sure to always be back in her Ravenclaw Dormitory at least an hour before curfew.
Amethyst was happy to see Ally and know that she was finally going to be able to spread her wings for a bit. Amethyst sat perched on Ally's arm when they finally arrived at the grounds.
Ally noticed that a young Hufflepuff boy whom Ally had met a few weeks prior to this encounter she knows his name as Aaron Stone and at that time she found him to be nice so Ally with Amethyst still perched peacefully on her arm decided that it would be best if she went and said hello.
Ally almost missed the fact that Aaron wasn't alone either by the looks he also had his Owl. So, Ally said Why Hello Aaron who is your lovely friend there?, My Snowy little girl Owl's name is Amethyst and it so wonderful to get to see you maybe our owls can be friends and fly around together? Suddenly Ally felt unsure so she had asked the last part with a little shaky breath..

Aaron had had a long day. He had slept very poorly that night, furious with himself for struggling in one of his classes; the young boy simply couldn't make a feather fly, no matter how well he knew the theory behind a good levitation charm. Furthermore, he wasn't doing very well in flying class either, as he could barely hold on to the broom—Aaron wasn't sure if the problem was with the broom provided by Hogwarts, or if he truly had no talent for it. And to make matters worse, the boy wasn't managing to make many friends… he got along well with other Muggle-born children, like himself, but it seemed that the children of wizards crossed his path more often, and he was still a bit afraid of that. In his mind, young Aaron believed he wasn't good enough to please them, so he often resorted to reading books and studying to, somehow, compensate for something. This only made the frustration from his failures in Charms and flying lessons even worse.
Things could have been worse in this streak of bad luck, but Aaron knew that in the end, he had his friend Melly, his owl. As soon as he fetched her from the Owlery, he gave her some treats and took her to the Hogwarts Grounds to let her fly a little. Secretly, he watched her soar and wished with all his might that he could be that good in flying class, just as the other students seemed to be—which wasn't true, but in the boy's young, naive, and self-deprecating mind, it felt like reality.
Lost in his thoughts, Aaron was snapped back to reality by the sound of what seemed to be a breaking twig—someone had approached, and it was a young Ravenclaw girl he had met once before; her name was Ally. With a somewhat shy smile, he heard the girl's question and searched his mind for the right words before answering her.
“Hi,” he said, “my owl’s name is Melly. I like your owl's name, it reminds me of the crystals my mum used to collect. I always preferred amethysts, they’re purple, and I like the color purple, and the way the light refracts through them is so beautiful. Oh, sorry if I’m talking too much. Of course, it would be lovely to see them flying together like good friends.”
Now, more than ever, it became clear why the boy didn't make friends easily. This boy, indeed, had no way with words. In that instant, he made a mental note to look for a book in Hogwarts about the existence of any spells to help with communication problems. Does it exist?, the thought to himself.
With his breath too quick and an apprehensive look, while absorbed in Ally's facial expression, young Aaron dreaded what her next words would be.
