First Blood
Flashback a few seconds earlier:
Finlay answered her not-thought-through questions about his position at Hogwarts and they made sense. Of course, she wouldn't think every employee of the school was from the UK. Well, she wouldn't, but she didn't. At least she didn't when she asked it. She never realised or even inquired where her Head of House had graduated from. Why would she though? Mama Lion's surname wasn't involved in the murder case, right?
Her first urge was to answer those questions, but some inner force restricted her from doing so. As if sharing more details about herself would weaken her. And it was her interrogation, not vice-versa. She decided to stay silent.
---
Now going back to standing near the door and listening to pathetic excuses of the nurse:
What Fin the Nurse was answering her question sounded painfully familiar. They were not her personal memories, but actually her mother's first-year-in-school memories, which Meenauh learnt from her. 'More power than they should have', 'recklessness and inexperience'... It all sounded like... that lady in pink.
Not that Meenauh was satisfied with the answer. One had to be really cold-blooded incredibly patient to be a nurse in this school. To treat the broken children that clearly experience horrors and still stay sane. Meaning you, of course. Children definitely go mad. She wanted to continue asking him questions like since when he was working at Hogwarts or what made him relocate, but it started to sound ridiculously strange already — a child interrogating an adult for no apparent reason. Was she suspecting something? She noticed a few details, but she was failing to build them into a single piece. Probably it was safer wiser to investigate using other sources first.
"Indeed, Mr Nurse. You know, it's a pity she is... not alive. I believe you two would find a lot to talk about and agree. I shall thank you for the potions and retreat. I hope I won't find my way back here voluntarily," she said trying to sound steady, did a slight bow, turned, pushed the doors and left without waiting for any reaction or verbalised farewell from the only person left in the bright room.

First Blood
What a weird little girl.
He humored her, or at least tried. There was something unsettling about the strange Gryffindor. How she chose to ask rather odd questions, her non-verbals. It was making him nervous. He let out a half smile and a forced chuckle. But ultimately she would take her leave and her strangeness with her. He was for a lack of a better word relieved.
"Best of luck young lady," he replied with a half-hearted wave before he meandered away from the door and his cabinet that was under lock and key. A simple Anti-Alohomora charm and his precious items would remain 'safe.' Bottles of elixirs and phials of varied remedies. Most labeled but some appeared to have no label at all. The contents were of course sparse, that being the focus of his day since the beds have been for the most part empty. A temporary grace it would seem.
Once the door was closed, he would take a seat in the back of the infirmary. There was no bubbling cauldron back there, no roaring fireplace but there was a copper vessel and a flame. They just lacked the usual aesthetic commonplace among wizards. Modern with clean lines - a simple copper vessel with a lip that was seamless and perfectly round less a narrow spout to pour liquid. The fire, a Bunsen burner. Nothing high-tech, no muggle electronics that could be fried by magic. In essence, despite his nervous-appearing demeanor, the nurse was a man of precision that preferred to potioneer with specifics rather than intuitive sense. Both had their boons, there was something about experience that science struggles to emulate but this man appeared to try.
Back to work. A nurse's job is never done.
Meenauh's departure would be unhindered.
There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.
