Bridget watched as more S.W.A.G. club members slowly trickled onto the field, some of whom she recognized from last game and some of whom she did not. Thora arrived soon after she did and Bridget gave her friend a small wave. She even began contemplating going over to talk to the other Slytherin when another girl, Ruthie, who she'd had met once before, came over to Thora and began some sort of conversation, however short. Bridget was glad to see that Thora had found a few more friends, but since her and Ruthie had had a confusing previous interaction, the Slytherin decided to wait by herself off to the side.

And then the teams were chosen. Or, rather, Aurelia's house elf began selecting certain people and not choosing others. To Bridget's dismay, she wasn't on the same team as Thora. She did have other people on her team that she more or less knew, including River, who'd won last game. Once on her side of the game field, Bridget drew her wand and turned to face the other side, mentally running through spells and considering what sort of things would help her team most. Out of the corner of her eye she spotted Thora and Ruthie high-five, and she felt... left out. Feeling left out was not something new to the Slytherin from her years of being an outsider in Muggle school. She did want Thora to be happy, and if Ruthie made her happy, then she should be friends with the Ravenclaw. But that didn't change the fact that she started wondering, not for the first time, if she really even was friends with Thora anymore. After the ball and how different everything had been for them, they'd been drifting apart and maybe... maybe Thora had decided Ruthie was a better friend. Did Bridget make Thora happy, anyways? Did she make the other girl light up when she saw her? Or did she just feel like it was another conversation she had to deal with?

Turning away from the cluster of girls on the Red Team, Bridget focused on the slight breeze cooling her flushed cheeks, reminding herself that she was here to play. To practice her spells. To destroy flags. Not to worry about friendships. It was time for Team Blue to reign victorious.

Evelynn hadn't really meant her inquiry with Pierre seriously, anticipating it to be little more than a rhetorical question. Either her tone had deceived her, however, and she had come across legitimately accusatory or inquisitive, or her peer had felt a need to explain himself. She listened, curious, eyes initiatlly scanning his face as he spoke as though attempting to discern more than what merely his words would say. Mid-way, however, she had averted her gaze elsewhere, allowing them to remain unfocused as she digested his sentiments more thoroughly.

"I think I get what you mean," she said after a while, trying to visualize what he was saying. "I've definitely noticed that people can be a bit full of themselves when meeting someone from another house for the first time. They make assumptions about them without knowing anything about them."

There was a bit of a clipped tone to her voice as she spoke, the image of Percival Gray floating around her mind's eye. As much as she had tried to let it go, she was still more than a bit annoyed at having been accused of being a 'white knight' and 'just seeking glory'. Nevermind that that particular encounter had left her being subconsciously prejudice towards Slytherins she had encountered after-the-fact. Thankfully, Pierre didn't dwell on that conversation, and her thoughts were redirected to the giant of a boy instead.

"I sure hope note.." she muttered under her breath at Pierre's suggestion that they wouldn't have to physically attack one another. "But he must be at least sixth year by the size of him. I bet he knows loads more spells than we do." She paused long enough to give him another scrutinizing look from across the grass. "I just hope he's on our side…"

As more people showed up, Evelynn's gaze wandered to fix upon the peculiar presence of a House Elf. It wasn't the first time she had seen one -- she had overheard a couple of the castle's House Elves conversing in the common room almost two weeks ago -- but it was still an oddity to her. They just…didn't look anything like an elf to her. They were more like squat goblins with large ears. But then again, the goblins of the wizarding world looked like halflings with razor teeth. So perhaps she shouldn't have been surprised.

When Aurelia spoke up, Evelynn set aside her musings of the fantastical representations of real magical creatures and listened. The mention of Lady Notresvace did not go unnoticed. Evelynn quirked a brow. She had learned on her very first interaction with a school peer about purebloods and the incredible wealth many such families wielded, but 'Lady' suggested nobility. Was there a caste system in this magical world as well? That thought prompted the promise for another late-evening library visit later that day.

And then another comment caught her attention. Evelynn snapped her gaze back to Rafael, brows slightly furrowed. She was quite certain she had heard the elf correctly, it would have been almost impossible not to given the proximity. It had just suggested that Rafael had attacked Aurelia in the common room last week. This was the first that Evelynn had heard of it. Surely that news would have spread if true…

She eyed the boy for his reaction to the accusation, curious to see the truth in the matter. First the owlery, then the common room. Aurelia seemed to attract unpleasant encounters. But then an equally unpleasant thought occurred to Evelynn, one that left her throat feeling constricted. Perhaps Rafael was the original aggressor? Reflexively, her eyes flicked to his, making note of their colour, and then down to his teeth, searching for any gaps where his canines would be. His eyes, brown; his teeth, perfectly normal.

Evelynn breathed easier for the moment. As she made her way back into the throng of students and towards the designated perimeter of the Red Team, however, a sense of foreboding clung to her. It prickled the hairs on the back of her neck and set her stomach churning uncomfortably. She had the distinct sensation of being somewhere she shouldn't be. As though walking through a dense forest with a hungry beast prowling after her. Almost nervously, she darted her eyes around in an attempt to discern its source. Futile. It was as though it was… just… there. Permeating from every location.

Someone called out her name. Jolted from her thoughts, Evelynn snapped her head around to see Thora. "Oh, hello," she offered a half-smile and a faint wave of her hand. Then in response to the question posed, suggested with a cocksure grin, "Burn the flag?"

Erik thought this was going to be another day until he noticed a familiar sight to arrive just in time before Aurelia was about to explain the rules of today's game. A small smile played on his lips as he noticed him licking up some remains of blood. You couldn't mistake him for a human. He was after all, too pale to be one and his eyes were blood red. Besides that him licking up blood pretty much give it away in itself. Neculai was an oddity for sure, but somehow they had just hit it off and became friends. It didn't hurt to have a smart friend. after all. He might just come in handy when he gets into some trouble.

When Aurelia had explained all the rules she had decided that her house elf, Eaux, was going to pick the teams. Did I miss something? Erik wondered. Is today, bring your house elf to work day or something? Otherwise, I might have brought my very own from Norway. He was a bit jealous he hadn't had the same idea to bring his house elf to Hogwarts. Life would have been so much simpler. If only to get rid some of the staggering and honestly, sometimes frightening amounts of homework. All of a sudden he got hit by a very familiar and dreadful feeling of hopelessness, fear and loneliness. Not again. No, no, no! Not now!, he thought to himself. It had been the same feeling as when he had met the sickly boy in the great hall a while ago. This time it would be different though. It had to. This time he wouldn't let it get to him. After a while he was able to push it down an regain his composure.

When the small sentient had assigned Erik in the red team he grinned from ear to ear as he heard Neculai be assigned to his very own team. Quickly the young werewolf walked over to him and gave him a fist bump. Ready to cause some mayhem? Erik didn't wait for an answer as continued. Watch this.

As the teams went over to their sides of the playground a fellow Slytherin asked what the plan would be. Erik cleared his throat as he not only addressed her, but his team as well. Can I have all of your attention please? Thank you. So let's all establish some ground rules, ey? First and foremost, do NOT under ANY circumstance get in my way. I will not hesitate to pay you in kind... As to enforce his words he let his venomous green eyes lock with each member's eyes as if to dare them to challenge him. Second of all, I will not have us lose. That is just out of the question and at last follow my example and you all should be fine. Did everyone understand this? Great! He clapped his hands together. Then let's have some fun. With that he took out his blackthorn wand from his back pocket as he analysed the blue team with a hungry look in his eyes as he searched for his prey like the wolf he is.

The much smaller girl that had appeared first. The feeling was familiar he only ever felt this specifically unsettled around Kaegan. She unsettled him in a similar way, but Quinn was very adept at putting up a mask. If he was unsettled then he barely showed it, instead doing his best to give her his warmest smile. "Well 'e both ended up caemin ere anyway. 'ether or naet we work together or are enemies. Shaeuld be quite fun." He casually said flashing her another smirk. He genuinely was giving her his best smile. However it looked slightly forced as he overcompensated slightly for his uneasiness. Though to his credit, he tried not to show it and chose to be towards a source of slight anxiety. Because he genuinely wanted to befriend and talk to her.

However it wasn't long before he was met by a familiar Gryffindor. Immediately his eyes lit up and he nearly squealed. Scooping up the tiny Gryffindor into a tight hug. "Alaaaaaan!!" Soon he set them down. The small Gryffindor would most likely be frazzled from the sudden lift. "O'course we'll probably get maer folk in ere. The more the merrier right? Ah wouldn't worry much. We got this!" He exclaimed striking a dramatic pose by flexing his arms. A bit goofy and silly but it also helped him settled down his own uneasiness.

Taking out his wand from his robes, he was about to continue chatting with his friend when another much more familiar face greeted him. It was the lass he tried to pancake in the last game. He was acting like a total idiot that time. Luckily she didn't seem to harbor any ill will towards him. Thank the gods for that. "Like wise. Ah'm Quinn Healy. But Quinn is jest fine. Saerry bout last time. Ah know me size can be intimidating so that probably didn't help when ah tried pancaking ya."
He laughed grinning. "Ah'm sure this time will be far less deadly...probably. Just don't get hit." He joked.

Soon his attention was caught again by the tiny house elf who announced his name. Quinn of Healy? He liked that. He might need to start using that. When everyone was chosen the towering Prefect of Hufflepuff lumbered over to the area his team gathered. He already had a general plan in mind at least for himself but he could adapt on the fly. Well adapt on the fly as best a 13 year old hyper active teen could at least. He chose to stay silent and instead get focused on the game to come. But the other prefect who had a little rivalry with in the last game still amused him as he made his little speech.

The giant of a boy flashed a warm smile down at Astrea, all smooth freckle-smattered skin and white teeth that contrasted with the sharp jawline he sported like night and day. "Well 'e both ended up caemin ere anyway. 'ether or naet we work together or are enemies. Shaeuld be quite fun." Another smirk accompanied his words, bright and engaging.

Yet for all the genuineness she was sure the ginger was trying to convey, there was a tad of covered strain that drew one eyebrow quirking up minutely and reminded Astrea of the small- quirk- that ran in her family. Something that drove the birds away and wild animals fleeing as if there was a spirit in their presence instead of a little girl escaping from a ruler-bearing governess and abacuses.

"Very true, and I do anticipate a good game, yes. Good luck." Grey eyes sparked with a flame of friendly competitiveness before turning elsewhere as another approached, a boy with round green eyes that matched the early morning dewed grass and was immediately glomped into a giant hug by the Irish in front of her.

A wrinkly house-elf travelled around and sectioned off people into coloured teams, wandering around pointing stick-like fingers at those of either team. “Eaux feels this one is scary. Eaux will not pick Miss Astrea of Neptune.” Hm. Well, that certainly was not a surprise- it was common that others looked upon her with uneasiness once they approached her. Though the unwavering nature of the statement in contrast to the words impressed her.

Ah, it seemed that she was of Team Blue. Astrea strode over to her teammates calmly, face kept neutral and drew her wand. The twirled cherry wood was a gentle comfort amid unfamiliar faces, unfamiliar faces that would be the entirety of her team. Unfamiliar faces that would be hers to trust in once those green sparks went off. An authoritative voice caught her attention suddenly, dragging her away from her teammates and toward the other side.

"Can I have all of your attention, please? Thank you. So let's all establish some ground rules, ey? First and foremost, do NOT under ANY circumstance get in my way. I will not hesitate to pay you in kind..." Emerald eyes trailed over the entirety of the group gathered, snake-like in a way that promised revenge. Astrea was instantly drawn into the distant voice, the reminder that there were others with the same mindset as the ones she had grown up alongside an intoxicating dose of familiarity. Certainly an interesting boy, it was a shame that they were pitted against each other. "Second of all, I will not have us lose. That is just out of the question and at last, follow my example and you all should be fine. Did everyone understand this? Great!"

As the blonde concluded his warning with a clap and hungry look of malice, Astrea found a soft giggle escape her, the beginnings of a sharp grin forming from under the thick green scarf she bore. As much as the threat was intended to frighten her, the blueblood found herself tempted- tempted to simply mess with the boy with green eyes and a show of confidence. Her eyes shone like molten silver with mischief from above the mask of green wool as she looked out toward the other team. It was exhilarating, the thought of simply provoking a reaction- any reaction would be okay.

After all, a little bit of fun never hurt anyone.

The third year was surprised by the hug he received by the Hufflepuff, but he just smiled at him. By the time the teams were announced, the Gryffindor heard a lot of names he was familiar with being announced by the house elf, but even more names of people he has never heard of before. One particular name would draw his attention though. His head snapped up to look around, his eyes searching for the blonde he had encountered not so much ago in one of the hallways of Hogwarts; he had been chosen into team red as it seemed, same as Quinn and Neculai as the third year soon found out.

Well that was it with being in a team where he knew people, but Alan was not one to be down just because of that. He looked forward to the game, as it still sounded like it would be a lot of fun in the end or at least he hoped it would be. "Good luck", he muttered to Quinn, as the half-giant left to join his team, whereas Alan looked around and tried to pin point the people that would be in his own team. He tried to study them, but to his surprise he saw one person that he was actually familiar with, which again just widened his smile, as he lightly jogged over into 'Team Blue Terrain'.

He nodded towards the kid he had briefly met in the common rooms, but lost his focus on said boy rather quickly, as he tried to plan his first move. He would be no help with the flag itself, as he would just create some sort of catastrophe, if he were to cast a fire charm; he would have to leave that to the team as it seemed. But while his eyes scanned the children in the other team, his gaze locked on one familiar face in particular, as a mischievous smile tugged at his lips, while he took out his wand from the holster.

He would be at high alert, as anyone could target him, but at this point he would just follow the plan made up in his head as he hoped for his team to also follow some sort of plan...

River looked up at the towering boy in front of her. His size was indeed unnerving, especially when zooming towards you on a broom flying above the ground. She chuckled «Don’t worry about it, it was all good fun» she wasn’t sure she’d have the same opinion if he’d actually hit her that time, or pancaked, as he called it, but since it all ended well she really didn't mind much. The small dhampir stood there swaying slightly back and forth on the soft grassy ground beneath her small feet. She was excited to begin, and she was also a little tired of waiting in the cold, her hands were crossed tightly over her chest as she was trying to keep a little warm.
The little house elf had begun picking students out of the ones standing on the grounds. They skipped right past River and continued picking others instead. In the end, the teams had been picked and River was placed in the blue team. River knew of a couple of the people on her team, but none of them were too familiar. She’d seen them all around, sure, but never been properly introduced.
After the rules had been explained, and the way to play had been known, they all got with their respective teams and readied up for the match to begin. River already had an idea of what her moves would be, she drew her wand and gripped it tight readying her spell of choice as she waited. And with that, the sky lit up in green and the game began.

An iron taste struck his tasting buds as his tongue reached the corner of his lips, to lick the remainder of the blood. Nothing tasted sweeter to the young Dhampir boy, savoring it he closed his eyes and a small smile formed on his face. After a bit the taste faded, too fast if you asked him and he would do anything to taste more.

Lost in thought, thinking on when the next moment would be that he could feed, the Ravenclaw boy was pulled out of his thoughts as a dreadfull feeling struck him at the core of his very being. "What is this?!" Panicked thoughts scattering through his mind as he tried to pull himself together before he would completely submit to the unearthly feeling. "Why is this happening?! Never I have experienced something like this?!" Scarlet eyes darting from one person to the other as he tried to locate the source.

The feeling was too much and it started to overwhelm him as it oozed from somewhere to the side, but he couldn't locate it. "Grandfather would be disappointed in you!" That thought, was the thought he hang on to and it got him to push the feeling down just long enough so he could regain his composure. The feeling wasn't gone, but he could manage it, but it still took a lot of his willpower doing so.

Now that he regained some of his composure, he suddenly noticed a tiny creature standing in front of him that he recognised as a House Elf. It pointed at him. "Why is it pointing at me?" A pale face that now started to redden his cheecks as he looked around him. Recognising a familiar face that walked towards an area he quickly followed him.

"Erik! Glad to see you're also here!" Lips departing from one another as white teeth showed, that could be passed as a smile. He returned the fistbump that Erik initiated. "Ready to cause some mayhem?" The red on his cheecks quickly faded as the Dhampir's paleness returned. He remembered last game and he felt mortified. Last game he had experienced a 'feeling' that he had never felt before... A feeling that had taken over the normally so calm and calculated, yet awkward Ravenclaw boy.

"S-sure! Let's win yeah?!" He tried to steer the conversation away from that topic. Quickly pushing his glasses back on his nose ridge he listened to the young Werewolf his speech. He chuckled, Neculai had to give some respect to the Slytherin boy. He sure knew how to take advantage of every situation. Glad he had his friend on his team, his right hand quickly searched in his robes to reappear with his trusted cherrywooden wand in hand. Facing the blue team he mentally preparing for the battle to come.

Crunch...Crunch...Crunch went the snow under Jorah's boots with each step toward the playing field. Why are we playing outside in the middle of winter?, Jorah thought to himself. Couldn't we have easily played this game in the castle, it's not like they're short on the space. Far in the distance, a huddled mass of students waited patiently. Crap, are they all waiting on me? Jorah's pace quickened. Crunch..Crunch..Crunch. The fog of his breathe floated up and behind him in the frigid air like the exhaust of a steam engine as Jorah double timed it to the club members. Jorah was a natural sprinter. Very dangerous over short distances, emphasis on short. If there was anything the boy hated more than the cold it was cardio. Jorah finished his run up to the group fighting to find his breathe, the dry cold air hurting with each inhalation. "Ha, sorry for the wait, guys."

Jorah greeted each of the club members with a nod. He must have pushed himself too hard too soon because Jorah was beginning to feel sick to his stomach, little did he know, that the terrible feeling was emanating from another student. Aurelia took control of the party and formed two teams. Ruthie was assigned to the opposing team to Jorah's displeasure. He only joined the club because of her and Shauna...but now it was just her. He thought of Shauna, he didn't know her that well, but she was one of the few people he had opened up too, and now she was gone. This is why I shouldn't get attached to people. Jorah buried away his sadness, deep within the recesses of his mind. There was only one thing that mattered now, the flag. Jorah gathered with his team. "Let's go blue team, we've got this."
