Minnie let out a little sigh as she looked around at the classroom, realizing that she knew nobody in the class. It was unsurprising, considering her social circles could use some work. Last year she made a few friends, but the majority of her time at Hogwarts was spent either alone or with a few friends she had had since her first year. This year she was hoping to change that.

But back to her current problem: not knowing anybody. Since she was fairly early, she hoped for the best and chose an empty seat near the middle. She had purposely picked a desk with no desk mate, hoping that someone she knew would appear. Even if no one she knew appeared, Muggle Studies would still be an okay class. After all, she wasn't just taking it to spite her parents; she was actually interested in learning about muggles and what they did as a daily life. Perhaps she would understand Theo, her squib friend, better after this year.

As a pureblood, the only thing she knew about muggles was from Theo, her neighbor and crush, and a muggle music lesson from Simon. Her parents couldn't care less about muggles, as they could be very stereotypical purebloods sometimes. Her rebellious side made her sign up for the class then, but now that she was here, it seemed like something that might actually interest her too. Now, if only she could have a friend in this class...

I'm really only here to bump up my grades. Muggles Studies should be really easy for me. I've lived in the muggle world for 10 years. I feel like I know what an escalator is. My eyes scanned around for a good place to sit but the classroom was mostly filled up with students already. One seat was right dab smack in the middle of the classroom and another was in the first row. I've got to choose between bad and worse. First row? Just no, absolutely not. I can't take a break up there.

I reluctantly walked to the middle of the class and took a seat next to... someone. The seat was not ideal for me to relax but it's gonna have to do. I sat next to a girl that looked a little familiar.
"Hello." I said to her quietly.
The teacher started to talk about muggles and squibs and stuff. I ignored him and racked my brains trying to think where I had met this girl before. She wore glasses and had short blonde hair. I pretty I'd seen her somewhere.
"Sorry, you look a bit familiar. Have we met before?" I asked her while the professor was explaining the word 'mudblood'. I've never been called that yet, thankfully. Haven't met any 'blood supremists' yet.
