Kara had the letter from her foster family in hand. She wanted to open it, but something told her that something was wrong. She sat on the shore of the Great Lake and was burying her hands into the white sand.
The breeze blew her hair into her face and her long bangs hung over one of her eyes. She moved her hair out of her face and looked at the letter again. Maybe she would feel better to get Lilian to see the letter with her.
She took a piece of paper from her notebook, took her pen, and wrote to Lilian to meet her at the Great Lake. She went to the Owlery and handed the note to one of the owls. It took the envelope in it's beak and flew of towards Hogwarts.

She arrived at the Great Lake again and sat back down. She stared into the depths of the murky water and wondered what was down there. Whilst in her wondering, she took out her wand and practiced her spells for Charms Class.
She wondered when Lilian was going to arrive and looked back down at the note. The envelope seemed to be thicker than one piece of parchment, maybe they had all sent her a separate letter. She looked back into the Great Lake and continued to practice her Charms.

Lilian was reading a book in the great hall while eating fruits. Suddenly an owl flies above her and drops a letter to her. Lilian was curious about the letter. Who would have sent her a letter? It was from Kara she was asking to meet her at the Great Lake.

Lilian finished her fruits fastly and goes to Great Lake. What happened to Kara I hope it isn't something bad she thought. When she arrived the Great Lake weather was chilling. She was happy that she had her little blanket with her. I hope Kara isn't cold she thinks.

When Lilian sees Kara she was practicing with her wand. But Lilian realized that something wrong with Kara she wasn't concentrating and she was looking at the letter that she was holding.

She walks to Kara and sits next to her she realizes that Kara was shaking so she takes her blanket out from her bag and she wrapped her blanket around herself and Kara ' Hi Kara ı came here as soon as ı got your letter. Are you okay? Is everything alright?' she says to Kara with curiosity. She takes her bag and put it near her and turns to Kara.

Kara was shaking in the cold breeze. It's powerful winds felt like it could've swept her off her feet. She heard footsteps in the crunching white sand and then felt a blanket wrap around her and she recognized Lilian's soft voice.
"Hi Kara, I came as soon as I got your letter. Are you okay? Is everything alright?"
Kara turned to look at Lilian, her long blonde hair blew in Lilian's face and her eyes were glimmering with worry.
"I'm fine, I think. I got a letter from my family, and the envelope seems larger than just one piece of parchment. I don't know why, but I have a feeling something is very wrong..." Kara responded with a croaky voice.
She looked at the envelope in her hands. She was scared to open it. She took a deep breath and opened the envelope carefully. She took out the things inside, and she couldn't believe her eyes.
In the envelope was a letter and as she read it carefully, tears welled in her eyes.
The letter showed,
"Dear Kara,
I am sorry my dear, but Mia's gone, she lost. She died from brain cancer on January 15th, 2020. I know you two had a large relationship, but all things end sooner or later. Mia told me to send you her lucky charm and to give you her note of goodbye and her blessing of good luck in school. Once again, I am sorry, I couldn't do anything.
Love,
Lilly"
Kara's tear soaked the letter and with a blank expression, she took out the small necklace that had a half of a heart with the letter "M" written in cursive. She blankly handed the letter to Lilian and fell to the ground on her knees, mourning her dead sister.

They must have so close Lilian things. ' It's okay Kara just cry don't hold yourself ı know ıt must be so hard to believe that someone so close to you is dead. I think you should go to her funeral. If you want we can go and talk with the head of the house?' she says to Kara with a smooth voice and hugs her close.

"It's ok Kara, just cry, don't hold yourself back. I know it must be so hard to believe that someone so close to you is dead. I think you should go to her funeral. If you want, we can go and talk with the head of house?"
Kara knew that Lilian was trying to calm her with her smooth voice, but it didn't work. Tears welled in her eyes.
"She was only thirteen!'Kara cried, "She had so much to live for! So much ahead of her in her life!"
Kara took out a necklace from under her shirt. It hung around her neck with the other half of the heart, but Kara's had a cursive "K" on it. She took the necklace off and dug up some sand and placed the two hearts together and placed them in the small ditch she made. She continued to cover the necklaces and got up, found a nice, small flower and placed it over the mound of sand.
She took Lilian's hand and placed her other on the mound. She murmured her goodbyes softly and got up.
"Yes, I want to go to her funeral. Let's go to the Head of House and ask her if I can go." Kara said quietly.
As she waited for Lilian's response, she stared at the small mound with a smile on her face.
"I shall never forget you, Mia. I promise." She thought to herself.

Kara says 'She was only thirteen! She had too much to live for! So much ahead of her in her life!' and cried. Kara takes a necklace under her shirt. It was the same as Mia' but it was letter K instead of M. she takes her necklace off and dug some sand. She placed the two necklaces to the hole and close it with sand and put a flower on it.

Even that they can't be together in life their necklaces will be together forever. Don't worry Mia I will never let anyone hurt Kara again I promise she thought to herself. And looks at the hole with a sad smile with teary eyes.

Kara took Lilian's hand and look at the hole with sad eyes.! 'Yes, I wanna go to her funeral. Let's go to the Head of House and ask her if I can go.' she says to Lilian quietly and stare at the hole and smile.

Lilian turns to Kara and says'Kara I can understand that how much Mia means to you I have an idea why don't we plant a tree on this hole and grow it together when we are in Hogwarts? We can plant a tree that Mia loves so much that way when we came here we can remember her and we can honor her. What do you think?'and smiles sadly to Kara while holding Kara's hands in her hands.

She understood why Lilian would want to plant a tree, but she declined.
"No, Mia liked the simple things in life, she was always quaint and calm, so I resembled it in this memorial to her memory." She said.
Looking back at Lilian, she hugged her hard and started to cry on her shoulder, repeating the words, "I wish I could've done something." over and over.
She stopped and looked at Lilian in the eyes, her eyes glimmering with the essence of mourning and grief. Kara had so many memories with Mia in the few years that Mia lived in. Through those years, even though they looked nothing alike, they felt like true sisters.
Kara continued to kneel beside Mia's small memorial, wishing she could've done something, when she realized it was almost nightfall. The sun was setting against a beautiful pink and orange firry sky. She smiled slightly, looking at the beauty around her always made her happy. She looked back at Lilian who had a look of sympathy in her eyes.
"Don't feel pity for me," Kara said, "Mia would want me to move on, and I will, but I shall never forget her."
She took Lilian's hand and walked back to Hogwarts with her, not looking back, but always remembering.
