Evelynn jerked her foot back the moment she had slipped it into her shoe. Something in the toe had made an unpleasant crinkling noise. With only a little bit of a struggle, she pulled out what appeared to be a wad of parchment, crumpled into a ball. How it had gotten into her shoe, she hadn't the faintest idea. Naturally, however, curiosity won -- as it did every time -- and she unfurled the paper to inspect the contents.

"Oh!" The exclamation came accompanied by a bright smile. "Finally!"

She had been waiting for this, the announcement of the second S.W.A.G. game. The club had caught her interest near the beginning of the year when first it had been formed, but she had been too self-conscious, too worried that her spells -- that she -- would prove insufficient and make a fool out of herself in front of her peers. As a result, she had held back, but always watching at a distance. She had even thought to approach the leader and ask if perhaps they needed a hand with announcements or planning, but the chaos of the Potter trial, potions studying, and training to apply for quidditch positions when they opened had taken the brunt of her attention.

But now…now she could join in on the fun.

A little before six in the evening, Evelynn made her way to the grounds not far from what she recognized as the whomping willow -- she had done a bit of reading after learning about its existence in one of the Headliner articles earlier this school year. She wasn't the only on the grounds this dusk. Far from it. She recognized a few of the faces: Aurelia, Pierre, Rafael, and even Thora, whom she had met recently. The rest were unfamiliar to her for the most part.

"Hey!" She called out in a hushed voice as she came up behind the Ravenclaw clad Pierre. "How do you even get away with wearing this stuff anyway," she laughed, fiddling with the blue and white scarf around his neck for a moment and rolling her eyes at the dedication to his confusing attire. But a moment later, she pulled her hand back and tucked it into the pocket of her robes before proceeding, "So, you're in the club too?"

As she spoke, her eyes darted around the unfamiliar faces, taking stock of them. They came to rest on the largest of the group. Her brows lofted as gray eyes lifted to take a mental measure of his height. She felt the pit of her stomach drop. He couldn't have been less than… less than… She gulped. How even tall was he? Was he a seventh year? He had to be. But…if he was…

Suddenly she wasn't feeling quite so confident about her decision to come and give this a try. Her misinterpretation of his height as a correlation of his year led her thoughts down a path of presumptions. Already, she was picturing the advance magic he had at his disposal compared to the rest of them. Already, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end and a stone of hopeless despair forming itself in her stomach, imagining him as an impenetrable force. It would not have been an incorrect statement for someone to suggest she was apprehensive of him. In fact, she was feeling downright fairly terrified of this giant of a student who dwarfed her by nearly two-fold.

"I uh… So…So this is who we're playing with huh…" Her voice maintained its low tone, intended only for Pierre. She ran a tongue over her suddenly parched lips and tried to gather her wits and focus, realizing that she was quite uncharacteristically unraveling at the sight of the large presence. "I hope I'm on his team..."

Alan was kind of excited and curious to say the least. He had seen the flyer pinned in the castle somewhere. Actually he was pretty sure he had seen it in the small hall. Then again he was also convinced he had eaten pancakes for breakfast yesterday until he realized he had the pancakes two days ago and that he just had some orange juice for breakfast the previous day. But his mind was wandering and that was not important, so he took a last look on the note he had found and walked to where they were supposed to meet.

It had been a small while since he applied and finally there was another game planned. He wondered if there would be more people that he knew or whether he would befriend some new people. When he walked towards a gathered group he could see someone he already knew, it was Quinn. He did not meet him all too often yet, except for usually when they met in the corridors or something, but it was nice to see that he was also here. A small smile appeared on Alan's lips as he listened to the explanations of the girl that was explaining the rules for the game. Alan tried to pay attention, so that he would not cost his team any points and looked around. So far he could not see anyone else he was acquainted with, aside from a girl [Evelynn] and a boy [Rafael] who he had briefly met in their common room. At least from those that he could see in the crowd so far.

Alan was not sure what they were supposed to do for now. Whether he was supposed to just stand there, but that felt rather awkward. But what else could he possibly do? Maybe he could go talk to someone? But who would he got to and talk with now? He knew nearly no one of the people around him and it might just make it awkward, especially since he did not even knew which team he would be on... Maybe he should just go and chat with a friend, which seemed like the safest options out of all the things he could think of. so after giving it a bit of thought he shook his head and walked over to the tall kid he had met on the train ride to Hogwarts in summer.

"H-hey Quinn, do you think there will be even more people joining the game today?", the smaller boy wondered as he looked around the Grounds, only to notice that there were already a bunch of other kids here. The club must have caught the eye of many students, which was no surprise to the Gryffindor since the games and idea of this club sounded like it would be a lot of fun!

«What in the..?», slipped from River’s lips as she attempted to put her left converse on that morning. Something had poked her foot and it made a quiet crumpling sound as she pulled her foot back up from the shoe. Her tired eyes darted down to see what she’d stepped on, and her gaze landed on a little envelope. She picked it up and inspected it, Who in the world delivers a letter in a shoe? she thought curiously as she pried the paper open. Reading the note, she understood the situation quite quickly and put the letter aside on her little nightstand.

When the time was right, the ravenclaw made her way to the grounds. It was a nice day, and she had been quite excited for the next game with the S.W.A.G club as the previous game was more than fun. I had exceeded her expectations, and she’s even managed to get the win. In the end though, that was not what was important, but rather just having a good time with the others.
River slowly approached the group of people on the grounds, some of them she’d met before, but there were a few new faces there too. Some that had not participated in the previous game.

Aurelia was there of course, and River sent her a smile and a nod as she walked up closer to the other students. Her eyes landed on a large fellow whom she recognized quite well from the last game, the one who almost flew straight into her… twice.
She hadn’t talked to him before, even though she planned to walk up to him after the last game, she ended up missing the chance. So she wasn’t planning on missing this one. The redhead walked up to the boy, there was another student talking to him as well. She smiled to them both as she approached, «Hey, it’s Quinn right?», she asked. Without waiting for a response she continued, «Good game last time», she said smiling, genuinely impressed by his efforts last time they played. Something about her voice said that she didn’t hold a grudge against him, even though he cheated. She turned to the other student «I don’t believe we’ve met, I’m River», she said and gave him a smile too. She was in a good mood today, and even though she wouldn’t always be the smiling type, today was just one of those days.

Erik woke up in the boy's dormitory in the Slytherin common room when he got his legs out of bed and tried to shove his feet in his slippers he felt something was inside. When he looked over it was a letter. Not any letter, no this was another letter of Aurelia Notrésvace, the head of the S.W.A.G. club, adressed to him. As he opened the envelope he quickly scanned the contents of the letter. When he had finished reading he crumbled the letter in to a meaningless ball of paper inside his hand. Perfect. Another game this time I won't lose. Just wait until I get my hands on that Huffle and that obnoxious Ravenclaw!, he thought to himself. It was thanks to the Ravenclaw he had woken up in the hospital wing of Hogwarts with a concussion. Anger seemed to crawl from the back of his neck making his way towards his cheecks before he was able to push it back down.

As fast as he could he put on some clothes and made his way not to the Quidditch training pitch like last time, but this time to the grounds. He wondered what would happen here. This game would be different as the letter didn't tell him to bring his broom with him like last time. When he finally got there he noticed some familiar faces and merely nodded his greetings as he stayed at the back of the group with his arms crossed listening to Aurelia's instructions about today's game. Apperently they would be assigned to teams. The werewolf rolled his eyes at the mention of teams. Erik wasn't one to work well with others, but his team would found that out sooner or later.

As usual Neculai was found with his nose stuck in, yes you guessed right, another book whilst eating in the great hall. This time he was found reading in the Book of Spells that was used during the Charms lessons. He was desperatly trying to keep ahead of the lessons of his favorite class after all. It seemed like Neculai was the embodiment of what Ravenclaw stood for intelligent and he had to keep his grades up after all. The Dhampir dreaded the thought of getting anything other than an O as a mark for some homework.

Not many people did know this about the Romanian boy, but sometimes he was a real daredevil. Today he was proving this fact yet again. As he was drinking some hot and fresh made soup whilst reading. The moment the bowl had almost reached his mouth someone behind him causing him to spill some soup over his Book of Spells. The paper sucking in the hot liquid as fast as it could causing the papers to discolor and a stain apeared in no time. Neculai didn't hesitate as he tried to get rid of the stain by using his sleeve of his neat and clean Ravenclaw robes. The result of this was an even bigger stain in his precious book and on his robe. Great... Just great!, he thought to himself. As he turned around to look at the culprit who had made him destroy his precious books no one seemed to be there. The only thing thas was left was an envelope on top of it written in curly letterings his name. Mumbling inside of his mouth something incohorently about impoliteness and rude people he opened the letter and started to read through the letter. As he got to the end of it a smile appeared on his face making his fangs appear at the corner of his mouth. Excellent! Another game! I was dieing to get myself a moment of more wandmovement practice!

As fast as his legs could carry him he went to the exit of the great hall. When he had finally gotten there he stopped turned back around and ran back to where he had been sitting at the table to take a plate with a bloody rare steak on it and quickly snatched the plate as he made the blood fall in his mouth. Finally done with eating he quickly made his way over to the grounds. After a few minutes of running around Neculai saw some people grouping and dubbled his pace. He sheepishly apologised for being late and listened to the S.W.A.G. club's leader's instructions of the new game whilst he was licking his lips as there still was some blood at the edges of his mouth.

Jorah's eyes opened up to an empty common room awash with sunlight filtering through the glass window panes. I must have over slept, he thought to himself. A long yawn was released into the quiet room as he extended his arms up and out in a stretch. Jorah threw off his covers and swung his legs over the side of the bed. The soles of his feet made contact with the cold floor prompting him to scuttle over to rug. Jorah opened his foot locker and exchanged his pajamas for a gray sweater and a pair jeans. He went over to his shoes and noticed something peculiar, a letter.

Jorah tore open the letter. It was an invitation to the SWAG club's second game. Jorah recalled the events of the first game, how he surprising eliminated a girl with the levitation charm and survived Neculai's attack by the dumb luck of his spell backfiring. Jorah never actually saw the end of the game, it was over from him when he deliberately flew into another player while invoking the spirit of Leeroy Jenkins. This new game was a team game. He wondered whose team he would be on. He hoped no one had any hard feelings for what happened during the last game. Jorah shoved the letter into his pocket and made his way to the Great Hall for a hearty breakfast. When it was time, he would meet up the SWAG club for the game.

There was a precipitous entrance of an unsettling feeling (referring to Astrea’s presence), that came as instantaneously as the snap of a finger. An eerie, unnerving and very much abhorrent feeling that settled deep within her gut. It was far from subtle, and was instead like a heavy wave crashing upon her all at once. It was surely nearly impossible to ignore this nagging feeling, yet the Monster Hunter willed it down.

There were more than a dozen students near. The aspiring Monster Hunter was not a novice to the unnerving auras of dhampirs. This feeling uncanny to that of a Dhampir’s Aura. The dhampirs, there were two of them, at least two whom Aurelia suspected, that could possibly be the culprit of delivering the outrageous sentiment. Little did the Gryffindor know, she was wrong.

Regardless, the players have gathered. Aurelia would begin sorting them into the two teams. There was certainly slightly more players than the last game. The lovely creature’s hand wandered up to her face, the tip of her right index finger subconsciously tapping at the corner of her lip as she began analysing the best approach to splitting the group. It was not too long before she settled for an option; Eaux.

Eaux. Would you kindly pick seven members for me please? ” Although she had phrased her words in a polite question, for Eaux it was a clear order. “Seven? Seven...” the house elf mumbled under her breath as she counted with her thin wrinkled fingers like how a five year old would when learning the most basics of numbers. “Seven! Eaux will pick seven of the students for Lady Notrésvace. ” The wince Aurelia gave was quite the conspicuous one at the house elf address as a Lady. Usually she did not mind Eaux addressing her formally but at least not While she was brazenly in front of more than a dozen members of her own club. Regardless, the loyal elf carried on with her latest errand.

First, Eaux started with the tallest boy, Quinn. Eaux was nothing but a small puppy in contrast to the towering skyscraper of a part-giant. “Eaux picks this one. Quinn of Healy.” The house elf pointed with its pointy finger upwards. It was quite surprising that the house elf had remembered every name and face on the list of members when Aurelia, the founder of the club herself had not even bothered to. The elf continued pacing among the group before pointing at four more (Erik, Neculai, Thora, Ruthie).

However, she stopped in front of a (Astrea) young dark haired student. Perhaps house elves were fearless or maybe it was only Eaux. For Eaux brazenly stated, “Eaux feels this one is scary. Eaux will not pick Miss Astrea of Neptune.” Of course, this was due to the aura the girl radiated.

Eaux then wandered to the group of Gryffindors huddled near a patch of grass not too far away (Evelynn, Piérre, Rafael). A scowl crossed the wrinkled house elf’s face as her beastly eyes fell upon a particular Gryffindor. “You. Eaux know that Rafael of D’Spacito attack Lady Notrésvace last week. Eaux will not pick D’Spacito by Rafael. ” the house elf declared perhaps loud enough for all to hear. Eaux, unlike other houselves, was always knowledgeable about her mistress’ whereabouts and it was no surprise that she was too well informed about the skirmish in the common room a few days ago. Aurelia, who stood merely a few feet away with a majority of the other members, fought the urge not to yell at her house elf to keep it down. Yes, Rafael had technically attacked her in a way but it had been... mutual.

With the frown still twisted on her face, Eaux had chosen the last two members, Evelynn and Piérre. Once done, she made her way to her mistress’ side. “Those who were picked by Eaux, head over to the Red border. The rest, make your way to the Blue.” Aurelia had announced. “We will be starting in a moment’s time. On my signal.” Like the previous game, Aurelia took to the skies on the school broom. With the wave of her cherry wood wand and an incantation, green sparks shot from her wand and dispersed an array green streaks it was the signal for all hell to break lose.

In many ways, it felt like being on a school yard. And that felt like so long ago, before her parents had taken her out of muggle school in favor of homeschooling until her Hogwarts letter arrived. But the addition of magic made every SWAG club game even more fun. Ruthie was pretty good at casting so this would be good fun and she hoped to be able to play to her strengths.

Seeing Thora here was always a good start, and soon Jorah showed up as well. He looked a bit tired. Hopefully that wouldn't affect his play. His competitive spirit matched Ruthie's and it would be a very different game without that dynamic. Hopefully, they'd both end up on her team. Then they could be like the three musketeers.

But as Aurelia's house elf went about picking out individuals, it seemed that was not to be the case. At least she had Thora onside. The Slytherin, in addition to being a good friend, was an exceptional spellcaster. The way she'd cast Ferula, a third year spell, was so masterful back at the ball. Ruthie reached up to give the girl a high five as they walked over towards the Red Team border. Once there, Ru looked back at their flag and then across to see where they opponents flag was, hiding behind their players. Jorah for one was on the other team. Bad luck. There'd be no saving him today. The Red team, at least, looked strong. They had the giant, Quinn, onside who came in second in Shuntbumps, as well as Neculai, seeker and Co-Captain for the Ravenclaw team. She wasn't acquainted with the others, but from the moment Aurelia would shoot sparks into the air, they were a team. And as a team, Ruthie was sure they'd work to win.

Piérre was tearing at a singular blade of grass, humming to himself, when he saw the first person walk up other than Aurelia. It was none other than Katrina Walker, the girl that Piérre seemed to find a close connection with. She was pushing a bit of teal hair behind an ear, and Piérre looked at it with his head coked like a curious puppy. Dying his hair had never been first or foremost in his mind, but now that he saw how amazing it could look, he felt a small pang of jealousy as he observed how well the ginger and the blue complimented each other. Now that he thought about it, he always wondered how he would look with a hint of green or perhaps red or black on the tips of his hair, but marveling would have to wait.

He would offer a nice smile and wave to the girl, chirping a quiet 'hello' through his scarf as he kept an eye on the horizon of the hill, awaiting any new faces.

And new faces sure did show up, three girls, two Slytherins and a Ravenclaw. Two of them greeted each other, but all three of them seemed to know one another, but Piérre was distracted from the details as another boy showed up, a boy in a Gryffindor outfit. Pierre's eyes lit as he recognized Rafael, one of the boys who had been helping in the Gryffindor Liberation project and was also a fellow Gryffindor Quidditch player. It was exciting to Piérre to know that he wasn't the only guy Gryffindor in this club, and as if to further his excitement, Rafael drew close and introduced himself, apologizing for the withdrawn nature he claimed to possess.

"Hey Rafael! Nice to meet you! I'm Piérre, but you probably know that!" The Britalian responded, raising a hand to him to shake. "I'm super excited to be here. Seems like we're focusing on spells in this game, so I dunno how well I'll do, but I wish you luck whatever team you're on! Maybe we'll be on the same team!" Now he couldn't keep talking. Typical Piérre, but a good sign that he was in a good mood and unlikely going to either have a panic attack or fall into a downer attitude.

No sooner than he started talking than Piérre felt a distinctive chill run through him, turning his heart to ice in his chest. It felt like the Dhampires' auras he had received the full brunt of at the Masquerade ball, and reeked of terrors beyond the human mind. There was something about it that Piérre despised, although the source of it he was unlikely to hate. There was usually a story behind every despair, and he was attempting to shrug it aside as he focused on the present. A tall student also walked up @Quinn Healy, and Piérre couldn't help but smile and wave at him. Unlike many reactions that happened around him, most of them being of general surprise or slight discomfort, Piérre was impressed with the freckled, redhead boy's lofty stature. Piérre himself had always wanted to be tall, and this was practically his greatest desire, encapsulated in reality. It would be cool to get to know him.

Not long after, Evelynn Decipio showed up as well! The girl that Piérre always seemed to run into without meaning to and always found a little happiness in running into, even in the case of accidents. She made a small remark, referencing his outrageous outfit and how he could get away with disregarding the dress code of Hogwarts, and Piérre couldn't help but smile a little more, pulling down his scarf.

"I dunno. I just kind of do it and nobody seems to mind!" It wasn't entirely a lie, but there was certainly a little bit more to it than just feeling an urge to do it. "It just... feels natural to me? I feel like I can bond with the rest of the houses better like this, make friends from all over instead of being judged at face value because I'm a lion. Besides, its fun to dress up in different outfits instead of having to feel trapped in a single dress code, right?" Piérre shrugged, looking at Evelynn as if to ask her opinion on his feelings about the dress code. "Yeah, I heard about the signups after the end of the first game that happened, and it sounded really fun, so here I am! Ta-da!" He flared his arms out like the performer he was.

Hearing Evelynn's concern about the tall person caused Piérre to laugh a little. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure we won't have to physically attack one another or have to hurt each other. Besides, we're supposed to destroy the flags, not each other, right? He seems kind of cool..." Piérre trailed off, noticing more people showing up.

Finally, Aurelia called the group together, and gave an instruction to a house elf that was evidently named Eaux. It was a curious name to Piérre, but he was sure that it made sense to the one who was named and who named him. Eaux started picking out people, choosing a pale Ravenclaw boy, the Slytherin and Ravenclaw girls hanging out together, and even the tall boy that had been the object of interest for most of the people nearby.

When the house elf came to Piérre and his small group, the masquerading Gryffindor waved at Eaux and gave a small and proper hello. After a few seconds of outward debate, Eaux mentioned that Rafael attacked Aurelia. Piérre got a funny look on his face, but shrugged it aside. From what he knew about this school, both through personal experience and through rumors he had heard throughout school, lots of attacks happened on a daily basis, the breaking of school rules happing more often than not.

Oddity aside, Piérre and Evelynn were chosen for the same team. Piérre smiled at Rafael and Katrina, who had been left behind and selected for the other team, "Good luck out there! Have fun!"

Getting to his feet, Piérre trotted over to his team and jumped a little bit in excitement, causing his scarf to flutter around him as he clapped his hands. "Hi guys! I'm glad to be on your team! Let's do this!"

A shower of green, cast from Verdemillious alerted Piérre that Aurelia had set off the pistol to begin the game. Eyes brightening with excitement, attempting to drown the fear which rose in his chest from the girl who exuded the terrible aura, Piérre spotted the blue flag on the other side of the field. He tried to force himself to tap into the pool of magic that was held inside his rather small form in preparation for the chaos that was bound to take place. It was unpredictable and awe-inspiring, and Piérre couldn't wait to see his hard work amount to something in the end. With a huge, delighted smile that caused his emerald eyes to sparkle merrily, Piérre committed to his first action of the game.

Thora brightened considerably as her ears caught a familiar whisper. Other than brief moments in class that day, Ruthie was the first one to acknowledge her. She didn't blame the other couple of people she knew who had shown up for the game as well for not speaking to her, though, because it was busy. Aurelia was explaining the rules, and it wasn't hard to admit that that was not a good time. Still, the swift hug was a sweet gesture and while her anxious expression might not have fully shown it, the girl really did appreciate the Ravenclaw's friendship.

"Hi, Ruthie," Thora whispered as she threw her arms around her younger friend. "Hope we're on the same team," she added quickly as color rose to her pale cheeks. It was okay to hope, wasn't it? As she released Ruthie, the Slytherin turned in nervous anticipation towards Aurelia, who was still explaining the rules. While the game was, admittedly, quite foreign to the Muggleborn, she found a little excitement blossoming. Maybe this wouldn't be too terrible.

So when a gangly creature finally came forth and began choosing people, Thora found herself shifting on her feet and holding her breath. There were simply too many people for her to have the ideal team, but hopefully she could be with someone, anyone that she knew.

A painstaking minute later, it was all over. Thora was on the Red Team. It was a pity she was opposing Bridget, her first friend at Hogwarts, but at least some people she knew--including Ruthie--were on her team. As Thora set off at a run towards her team's border with the rest of her team, she return Ruthie's high-five and fought her wild hair into a ponytail. While it was nice to feel it flying in the wind, duelling and spell-casting in general was just easier without hair getting in the way.

"Hey Evelynn!" the girl called as she noticed the small Gryffindor heading the same way. They hadn't exactly hit it off the best way, her having ruined the first year's potion. She still felt bad about it, but it didn't exactly seem like the time to apologize for the millionth time. One of the boys on her team, she recognized immediately. While Thora didn't know his name, he was on the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team--perhaps a captain--and had been at the games last time. She still found herself distancing herself from her teammate, though, because his mouth was practically dripping blood, while he was licking up the remains of it.

"So, have we got a plan?" Thora asked the fellow teammates with a grin while sending furtive glances towards the blood boy. She supposed everyone should just use their own tactics, but it was just safer to ask. The Slytherin twirled her legs around in her fingers in quiet anticipation. This was going to be quite a night.
